Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.
One of the Perussi was thrown backwards with the force of a train. It almost made Gaete jump if he didn't know who was the thrower as he looked at Satsuki.
"So... I'm guessing they didn't go that well?" Gaete questioned, his eyebrow raised as he turned to the new body. "So, I'm curious as to what happened at the moment." Gaete stated while cracking his fingers.
Satsuki nodded towards him as her hair blew in the wind blew her hair backwards. She stepped towards him while she checked the area for any more Perussi.
Gaete and Sol shared a look of surprise but said nothing. Both were rather curious as to what she was going to do next. It helped that neither had much of a clue what to expect next anyway.
"I will assume that you have been rather through with hiding the dead drone?" Satsuki questioned while humming as she took a seat next to him.
Gaete shrugged, unsure what to respond with. He knew more Perussi would arrive sooner or later. They wanted blood, their blood, and Gaete wasn't stupid enough to believe he could take them, not without training, and more time to prepare for the battle that he'd no doubt have with them.
The smart choice was a obvious retreat which he wanted to simply take. He was not eager to be thrown into another battle he could not hope to overcome. When he thought about it? This seemed more akin to a strategy game.
"You know their bound to have a commander they report to." Gaete pointed out, quite curious as to the next move. "Though that also means we're probably just fighting scouts, these warriors aren't that strong. The obvious choice is that these aren't veterans when you think about it." Gaete stated while looking down at the armored scout at his feet.
Satsuki pondered the idea in a moment and in another moment nodded. She turned to look at Gaete while she pondered herself what was to come.
"Gather it's body and come with me." Satsuki stated while twirling her own blade through her fingers. "They will send reinforcements soon enough. We should not stay here more then we need. I am curious, however. Their command structure hasn't been revealed yet, meaning they operate with unknown purpose." Satsuki added to which Sol and Gaete shared a look at.
"She has a point; they have to have SOME type of boss." Gaete put in while he gathered up the body. "There MUST be someone we can target. The sooner they fall? The sooner everyone is going to be ok." Gaete added, cracking a smile as he looked at Satsuki and gave a nod as he prepared to depart.
Satsuki gave one last look at Gaete before she pointed to a place down the street. She turned back to Gaete as he blinked and looked around, ready for SOMETHING to happen, a point to guide him to where he was supposed to be going.
"You lead, I will follow." Gaete stated as he slowly marched after Satsuki. "I should apologize, military things like this aren't really my forte. I'm not as much of a soldier as you think." Gaete added as he thought about his fight.
He had been weak, sloppy, easily dispatched, and FAR too reliant on his powers. Gaete was rather curious as to how Satsuki was so good, but that was a talk rather saved for another time in his opinion. Satsuki would open up about it when she decided it would be a good time... Until then? He could understand her decision to be quiet about her past.
It wasn't like He had any real reason to really pry anyway. He hadnt the ability to really judge her when it came down to it... Yet? His interest grew with every single battle he had with her.
"I did overhear something about a emperor or empress." Satsuki stated to which Gaete nodded while. "It is rather interesting for them to be discussing something such as that, but I will assume they rather think highly. They believe their victory was already gifted to them years ago." Satsuki added, sounding more amused than scared.
Gaete rather envied her confidence on the matter. If he had known he had been on a crash course with aliens? His thoughts wouldn't be so clear and happy at the moment... Then again? Gaete rather enjoyed the ability to fight back against these aliens, and now he had such a purpose.
"I can only hope they are that arrogant when we fight them." Gaete muttered, rather hopeful that this battle wasn't over yet.
It couldn't be over yet, not while they still drew some sort of breath in their lungs, currently.
"I would march faster unless you think you can fight better." Satsuki added before her voice softened.
