Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.

"You know, sometimes I question HOW smart these things happen." Gaete said, turning towards Satsuki who was cleaning off her sword. "I just don't know what these things are like at the moment. There's plenty we don't know about them." Gaete stated as Satsuki nodded and looked towards the creature.

"Yes, but we know they can be killed in combat." Satsuki said as she looked at Gaete. "You remind me of someone similar to me. They had doubts, but they had the ability to stand up and defend themselves when it comes down to it." Satsuki said while Gaete paused to think about the next move.

"Yeah, you've been pretty serious. I've been around a lot of people in my life." Gaete said as he shrugged and looked around with a curious expression on his face. "You sound a lot like your used to war, have you been fighting a lot? You've acted a lot like a soldier who actually knows what war is like." Gaete said as Satsuki turned.

"War is something I am quite familiar with, yes." Satsuki said as Gaete turned, already prepared to move out at the moment. "I've had to fight people before… My mother is one of them, she's a monster, constantly… Hurting me and my sister at the end of the day? She had to be taken out of the picture." Satsuki said which got a blink from Gaete who didn't understand.

Satsuki closed her eyes, why would he understand? She couldn't blame him for not knowing everything on her life. She didn't even know what part of her life seemed to be happening the more she thought about it. Still? She felt like getting some of the details off her chest.

She turned to look at Gaete while she slowly started to walk towards him. Gaete hummed and started to look around with such an interest in how this would be going sooner or later? The choice was obvious the more he thought about it. He knew for a fact that starting to think like a soldier was NOT what he exceled at.

"I'll let you handle the major planning and all that, you know." Gaete stated, rubbing at his arms as he did so. "There's too much at stake to let a bumbling geek deal with stuff that isn't my concern. Fighting is what I'm going to get better at every single day." Gaete stated as he looked up at the sky.

"You are skilled at fighting; I will grant you that." Satsuki stated, joining his gaze upwards. "But without strategy? It is worthless. You need to be able to adapt every single day that it counts or you will die over and over again…. And it will not be as amusing as you may believe I'd find it." Satsuki stated, rubbing at her temples as she focused upon the issue at hand.

"Maybe, but I'm not as much of a fighter as you are, Satsuki." Gaete stated, slowly lowering his gaze as he thought about the next move. "I've just gotten these powers. I don't know what's coming down from these guys. I've never fought a damned war; it isn't something that just comes to you." Gaete added, rubbing at his temples as he did so.

Satsuki could see that there was much more training to be done. She had not fought for over a year, making her skills rusty, but still strong. She was dangerous, but she wanted Gaete to be so as well.

"I do want to point out that I still require training to even the odds if you were not aware of this." Gaete stated, gaining a nod from Satsuki as the duo started to think what happened next.

"I will train you when it comes down to it." Satsuki added to which Gaete could only nod, unsure of the next move on this battlefield.

"If things were as simple as I told you? Then I doubt we'd even be having this talk to begin with." Satsuki heard, garnering a nod as she paused to access the situation at hand.

There was too much at stake to simply discuss action. They had to act just as well. Satsuki looked at Gaete while tapping on her arms.

"We should find somewhere safe from these creatures, you know." Gaete heard from Satsuki as she paused to think about the Perussi. "Follow me, I believe we have plenty of work to deal with. The longer we don't dwell upon it? The sooner we can focus upon things like training." Satsuki added to which Gaete clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

The duo slowly began their walk into town, curious as to what came next. They couldn't worry about the Perussi, not yet. They weren't ready for it.

Satsuki looked at Gaete while they started their walk once again.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that these chapters will be longer and such. Next chapter will be 2-10 months later and will show Satsuki and Gaete talking and training. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter will be 900-6500 words like other stories and starting to be a bit delayed. I'm sorry for this chapter being so short in advance.
