Bill sighed as he tried to wake the sleeping teens. "Caroline." When she didn't move, he tried shaking her and calling her name slightly louder. "Caroline!" This got a response as Caroline popped up, rousing Klaus as well.

Caroline woke to find that the pillow she was lying upon was hard and firm and so not like the pillow on her bed. After a moment she realized that she had slept with Klaus. Well, on Klaus. She didn't have much time to process that when she noticed that her father was standing over them.

"Daddy?!" Caroline's surprise caused her to fall off of the couch taking Klaus with her. "Oh my God! It's not what you think. I can explain," she tried, but failed to get through to her father.

Bill's control slipped when he saw a sliver of Caroline's skin showing on her hip and Klaus's hand moving there. "Get up Caroline!" her father roared, "we will talk after you guest leaves." The way Bill said guest implied that Klaus was much more than a friend of Caroline's and their night on the couch was anything but innocent.

Between her father's outburst and her movements, Klaus woke up. "Sir I can explain," Klaus began as he took in her father's face.

"Sir, if you would just let us explain." Hearing Klaus only set Bill off and whatever control that he had was now gone.
"I don't want to hear from you. All I want from you right now is to get away from my daughter and to get out of my house," Bill stated firmly.

"Your name is Klaus isn't?" Bill asked.

"Yes sir." Klaus was unsure how Bill knew his name.

"I know all about you. Tell me what the hell is a college man doing with my teenage daughter?" Caroline could see the vein on her father's head pulsating. This was not good.

"Sir, what happened last night isn't what you think," Klaus began to try and calm the older man down.

"Get out of my house," Bill ordered through his teeth.

"Daddy you have no right to talk to him like that," Caroline attempted to defend Klaus.

"I have no right!" Those were the last words that Klaus heard as he left the Forbes house.

When Klaus got to his car he began to hit his steering wheel over and over again. He shouldn't have left Caroline to take the blame by herself. He should have been in there with her. By the sound of it, Caroline's father was not being nice. In the short time that Klaus had gotten to know her, he had grown to feel very protective of her.

"I knew that I shouldn't have let you babysit. I should have gone with my gut feeling and called Elena. I knew that it was a mistake." Bill was now pacing back and forth in front of Caroline.

Bill's words hurt Caroline deeply. That one sentence brought back years of insecurity of not being good, that being the reason her father never wanted to see her. They hurt her far more than she ever expected them too. "Yeah well now you know not to trust your airhead daughter," Caroline snapped out of both hurt and anger.

Bill looked at his daughter, furious with her words. "I'd watch my mouth if I were you, Caroline. You are in enough trouble as it is. Go up to your room, and wait until I have calmed down enough to deal with you." Caroline ran up to her room without a second glance, barely missing Anna and Steven.

"Why is Caroline in trouble?" Anna asked from her spot on top of the stairs where she and Steven were currently sitting, listening to the argument.

"Oh no sweetheart Caroline is not the one in trouble, your Daddy is." Steven replied through tight lips. He was going to kill his husband. "Now I want you to go back to your room and put your headphones on and turn the volume way up." Steven instructed the little girl. There was no need for her to hear what he was about to say.

Steven wasted no time in yelling at Bill. "What did I tell you not to do? I told you not to lose your temper and that this was a situation that had to be handled carefully and what do you do?" Steven didn't even give Bill a chance to respond. "Well I'll tell you what you did. You just went and did the opposite."

"She had sex with a boy in this house," Bill tried to justify his actions.

"You don't know that." Steven stood shaking his head. "You don't know anything because you wouldn't give them a chance to explain. Instead you let your anger get the best of you and you yelled, accused and hurt your already fragile daughter."

Bill sighed, realizing that his husband was right; he could have handled things differently. But no father wants there to be another man in his daughter's life, one that could possible take his place. "I'm gonna go up and try to talk to her."

"She ran off," Bill said as he came flying down the stairs. He was in full panic. He had no idea where she could have gone but the ever-persisting fear that she could have taken off back to California was far too strong.

"Oh I know she did. Right after you sent her to her room. What did you expect to happen?" Steven scoffed as he began to put on his shoes.

"And you just let her go?" Bill looked at his partner with righteous anger, "well I am going to go find her."

"You will do no such thing. Sit down William Arnold Forbes!" Steven directed his partner. "You've had your chance, and you screwed it up. We are going to do this my way. I will go and find Caroline, I will be the one to talk to her, and I will be the one to decide if a punishment is granted. You, my clueless husband, is going to not move from the sofa." Bill was truly terrified of his husband. Steven didn't lose his temper a lot but when he did it was monumental.
