Harry Potter, and Ronald Weasley were worried, panicked, and terrified for the fate of their best friend, Hermione Granger. It was the first day of classes and they had both slept in. They had both had assumed upon finding the common room empty that Hermione had already gone down to breakfast. This assumption proved to be false when Professor McGonagall handed them their timetables as well as Hermione's, asking them to pass it along to her.
It wasn't unusual for Hermione to miss breakfast so when she still hadn't turned up, once all the food had vanished, they had headed off to Charms. On their way, they had popped into the Library, one of her favourite haunts to see if she was in there already studying for next year's OWL's, but she wasn't, and Madam Prince had told them that she hadn't seen her. Continuing their way to class they could feel the gnawing dread and worry building in the pits of their stomachs caused by Hermione's disappearance.
Upon reaching Charms, they had yet to see their bushy-haired friend, and she didn't turn up at all during that period. The same thing occurred during Double Potions as well as Care of Magical Creatures. By the time lunch occurred Ron and Harry were terrified, the last time they hadn't seen Hermione for so long she had been petrified by a one-hundred-foot serpent that harry had later slain in Salazar Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets. Something dreadful must have happened for her to miss the first day of classes.
They had searched the school, interrogated Draco Malfoy, and sent Lavender Brown, one of Hermione's annoying roommates to see if she was in her dorm. All results were the same, nothing. They were just about to report her missing to Professor Dumbledore when Ron remembered the map Fred and George had given Harry the previous school year, a map that had been created by Harry's own father and his friends when they had attended Hogwarts years ago.
"Harry the map, let's check the Marauders Map." Ron had said running off towards Gryffindor Tower where Harry kept both map and his father's invisibility cloak safely locked away within his trunk. Upon retrieving the map, Harry tapped it once with his wand; speaking the phrase to unlock it: "I Solemnly Swear that I am up to no good", Both boys watched the parchment unfold, ink spreading from the centre to show a detailed map of the school complete with moving footprints neatly ladled with the names of every inhabitant of the castle. Both boy's eyes rapidly searched for their missing best friend; eventually locating her in the Hospital wing next to Madam Pomfrey and the Weasley Twins.
Not even bothering to close the map, both boys took off, running full force to see their friend who must be terribly sick, why else would she have missed her morning classes. When they reached the Hospital Wing, they barged through the double doors, unprepared for the chaos that greeted them on the other side.
Gagged and tied to chairs were two people who at first glance neither Harry nor Ron would have been able to recognize. Their appearances were indistinguishable, but the two terrors who seemed to be the culprits were not. On the floor in front of who Harry assumed to be Madam Pomfrey was a carbon copy of Hermione. If Harry didn't know that Hermione was an only child, he would have thought her to be her sister. The miniature Hermione was stood in front of the matron holding out a fish threateningly.
Meanwhile on the other side of the room was another child one that was unmistakably a Weasley. With the knowledge of the Marauders Map both Ron and Harry knew that the only occupants in the Hospital wing were Madam Pomfrey, Hermione and the Weasley Twins, this meant that the child with the shocking red hair and freckles, laughing mentally and pointing a wand at the bound occupant who wasn't Madam Pomfrey must be one of the Weasley Twins and the bound, purple slime covered thing must have been the other.
Terrified those two children could do such damage, Harry and Ron watched on in shocked awe.
"How could you kidnap me, and force me to swallow that horrible poison, what will it do to me you horrible which," the miniature Hermione was screaming while repeatedly smacking Madam Pomfrey with the fish.
"You stole my brother's name and my family's appearance, you wait until my twin hears about this, you will forever regret the day you messed with the Weasley Twins" said the child-sized twin, orange sparks flying from the end of the wand in his hand, hitting the other who gave a muttered moan of pain as his flesh burnt.
Snapping out of their shock Harry and Ron; still unnoticed by the two children slowly drawing their wands; a silent conversation passing between them as their eyes met. Not needing to use words it was decided that they would first stun Fred as he had the most dangerous weapon and then Hermione who was unlikely to pose much of a threat with the haddock in her arms, even if it was rather large. They both raised their wand arms, and aimed them at the miniature twin, Ron shouting "Stupefy" at the same time Harry shouted "Incarcerous", effectively stunning and binding the twin where he stood, his body falling backwards where it remained motionless on the white tilled floor of the hospital wing.
Seeing her new friend die for that was what Hermione believed had happened to Fred, she launched herself across the room, dropping her fish in the process and preceded to strangle the dark-haired culprit, her teeth clamping down on his ear; biting it clean off ear; his blood dripping down her chin as she spat the ear onto the floor; her tiny arms squeezing his throat as tightly as possible; her flailing legs kicking him repeatedly in his ribs.
Harry unprepared for such a vicious attack from the girl screamed in agony, trying to buck the child off. Ron who had been knocked to the ground in the attack; stumbled to his feet and grabbed a hold of the girl attempting to separate her from Harry's throat whose face was slowly turning blue from the lack of oxygen.
"Get off me you murderer; I will kill you, once I kill your accomplice just as you have killed mine," Hermione Screamed scratching at Ron's face with one hand while holding Harry in a choke hold with her other arm, on of her legs kicking him hard in the groin. Ron screamed in pain and collapsed to his knees where he took a kick to his face. Movement out of the corner of his eye alerted Ron to Harry's wand that was rolling across the floor nearby. Ron grabbed at the wand desperately, his own lost in the fight screamed three spells he never thought he would use on his rule abiding best friend: "Relashio, Stupefy, Incarcerous". Hermione flew away from Harry landing on the floor bound and stunned. Harry collapsed to the floor beside him gasping for air, his face purple and his eyes bulging.
"Harry Mate, are you alright," Ron asked kneeling on the floor next to his friend, one hand cradling his groin, the other wiping blood away from his nose. Catching his breath, Harry spluttered a "Will be" as the doors to the Hospital wing burst open again, this time admitting Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall all of whom had their wands raised ready to defend themselves against whatever was on the other side of the door.
"Oh my" McGonagall gasped at the sight before them.
"Weasley, Potter what on earth happened here" Snape growled through clenched teeth, from the sounds he and the rest of Hogwarts had heard from the Great Hall he was expecting to find the next Dark Lord, not two bound children, two hexed people and a Potter and Weasley who looked to have just survived a werewolf attack.
"It was Hermione and one of the twins, I'm not sure which, we came up to find Hermione as we hadn't seen her all day, and she never misses classes. When we got here, we found Madam Pomfrey and one of the twins like that and the other twin and Hermione attacking them with a wand and fish. Harry and I bound and stunned the twin as we believed him to be more of a threat because he had the wand, but she attacked us, and I couldn't get her off Harry. She was strangling him and has bitten off half his ear; she scratched my face too and kicked us both a lot. I grabbed Harry's wand released her, stunned her and bound her, asked him if he was all right and then you arrived." Ron said all this very quickly sounding tired and defeated, his face grimaced with pain.
"How is this possible, Miss Granger is a lovely girl, how has she managed to be so evil," McGonagall asked shocked.
"I don't know Minerva but let's heal everyone and then deal with the children," Dumbledore said walking forward to release and heal George and Madam Pomfrey as Snape summoned potions that would heal the wounds that Hermione had caused to Harry and Ron. Healing Harry and Ron was easy, but it took over an hour to fix the damage caused to the matron and George.
With everything fixed and the Hospital Wing returned to its previous glory, they all sat down in Madam Pomfrey's office to hear both her and George's side of the story.
