Dr. Roberts open Sarah's nursery door and I scream like crazy when I see her nursery. I turn around screaming looking at Embry and Quil who's smiling hard. "Calm down with the jumping, Ms. Thorne." Mr. Howard say putting his hands on my shoulder. Quil shake his head when Embry faces changes up. Fuck you, Embry.
I walk in looking around her nursery. The beautiful green wolf. I look at the crib that Dr. Roberts was looking at in the store. "Dr. Roberts, I told you not to buy it for me." I say feeling on it and nearly fainting but Mr. Howard catches me. "Her heart is beating too fast." Embry say. "Lacie, calm down." Dr. Roberts say rubbing on my back.
"Dr. Roberts, you didn't have too." I say breathing hard. "I wanted too." He say looking me in my face. Mr. Howard looks me in the face. "It's so beautiful. She'll love the cow jumped over the moon. It's very beautiful." I say looking at the cow jumping over the moon that's painted on the wall. "It something we wanted to do for you." "How can I thank you all?" I ask. Mr. Howard look ask Dr. Roberts.
"Just take it easy." "That crib cost nearly nine hundred dollars." I say looking in his face. Quil looks at Embry. "It did not cost that much." He say. "Yes, it is. That too much for a crib, Dr. Roberts." "It can be used as a bed too. She can use it as a bed too." He say making me hug him tightly. He wrap his arms around me. "I'll pay you every dime back. No baby is worth that much especially on a crib." "She is." He say.
"Nine hundred dollars?" Mr. Howard asks him. "I wasn't buying you a eight hundred dollar crib, Lacie." He say ignoring Mr. Howard. It get silent in the room. I try to calm my emotions but I feel like crying. "Did it cost nine hundred?" "Taxes make it almost nine hundred, Mr. Howard." "Take it back." He say to Dr. Roberts. "No." "Take it back. I only asked as a joke but didn't think that you'll buy me a nine hundred dollar crib. I know you didn't." I say.
"He didn't, Ms. Thorne." Mr. Howard say. "I'm just checking because that's too much to buy a stranger but your blood related child. Yes. Me? No." I say looking back at the crib. "Who brought it for me?" "It was just delivered to your house." "I'm just wondering. My mom probably brought it for me." "It turns into a bed. So, she'll grow into it." I nod my head looking around the room and walking towards the changing table.
I pick up the teddy bear that's sitting in the corner. "I don't know what to say." I say. "You can't say thank you especially for a nine hundred crib, Lacie." Embry say. "And, I can't. I'll pay you back every single dime." I say to Dr. Roberts who's sitting in the rocking chair. "I didn't buy it, Lacie." He say. "Someone brought it. Mr. Howard?" I ask him. "I didn't." He say looking in the crib.
I know it's hard for him and I had no right to ask him but I know he would've been mad if he was left out. I put the bear down and touch on the cow. The moon is beautiful. "I am going to pay you back because nine hundred-" "I didn't buy you a nine hundred dollar crib, Lacie." Dr. Roberts say and we all look at him. "Did I force you?" "You had too." Embry say.
Quil shake his head. "You didn't." "I had too for you to spend eight hundred dollars on a bed crib when it's not your baby." Does he like me too much? I let out a fart earning a laugh from Quil. "Sorry, I got gas but I will repay you. I don't know if you can take it back or not but I will repay for every dime. You too, Mr. Howard." "I didn't buy it." "If you did. I will repay you both." I say mouth watering and turning around towards the door and I feel arms around me. "Lacie, calm down." I faintly hear someone say before I blackout.
I'm texting Jacob's phone telling him that he's allowed to come to my house to look at the nursery along with the guy He still has a key. I didn't take that away because he'll need it for when the baby is born. I can't believe they brought me a eight hundred dollar crib for no reason after all I have done to both of them. I know for a fact something is not right about that.
I shake my head opening up Paul's bedroom door making a girl scream loud covering herself up and Paul getting off of her. He lay next to her putting his arms behind his head while the girl ducks under the blanket. He just looks in my face. I put my cellphone away in my back pocket while looking at him. "Sarah's nursery is done in case you want to come by the house and see her beautiful nursery." I say to him.
He doesn't say anything just stares in my face. "You have a baby, Paul." I say at the same time as the girl screams out. "I have child on the way, Lauren." Paul say moving his mouth at the same time as me. It get silent in the bedroom. She lets out a scream and hit on his chest hurting her hand. She screams holding her hand. I just stand there.
He just looks me in the eyes. "Her nursery is done. I'm telling everybody and I know you don't like to get around nor leave the tribe unless it's for sex but I want you to come see it because it is lovely. Everybody and I hope you come see it. You are her uncle Paul. One day, she'll need more protection than someone else. She's not worth it after what she did, Paul. Jacob is not worth it either. It's not his baby, Lauren." I say.
She takes the blanket off her. "He's not?" "No, he's not. Her Uncle. Her dad's friend. I'll trust Sarah with you more than anyone else, Paul. I'm sorry Bella broke your heart for what she did but you and her will-" He leans down to pick up a boot. "Paul." Lauren calls to him. He puts it down. "They hurt mine more than yours and not worth it." I say and close the bedroom door.
I walk into the living room and walk out of Sarah's nursery closet were Mr. Howard is standing directly in my face. "I was talking to myself." I say walking past him and toward my bedroom closing the door behind me. He opens it up later and I lay on my bed. He closes the door. "How did you do that?" He asks me sitting next to me on the bed. "I didn't do nothing. How you get in my house, Mr. Howard?" I ask.
"I left my keys." Again. I shake my head unbuttoning his shirt and he actually let me. "Tell me Jacob is not worth it." "He's not worth it." He say grabbing my hands and I glance at his wedding ring on his finger. "It hurt so bad in how he and Bella betrayed me thinking that I was sleeping with Paul but I can't get over how things changed. Learn to move on with your life, right?" I ask him. "Right." He say leaning his face towards mine. I lean towards his and we kiss.
I'm frying this bacon while Mr. Howard's gone to work. I don't know what's going on but things are running smoothly. I texted Jacob then I remember doesn't have a cellphone like that so I called him and told him to come see Sarah's nursery. I'm not a bad type person and I won't keep him from his child. Either he thought or not, he still made the decision real quick to jump on Bella. So, our relationship is over to the core.
So, I'm waiting on him. "Oh, there he is." I say looking at him through the window walking out of the forest and across the backyard. I turn the stove off and open the kitchen door for him. "Hi, Lacie." I just smile letting him in and closing the door behind him. He looks around and turns to me. "I'm here to see Sarah's nursery." He say and I move the pot off the stove. I don't want my bacon to burn.
I lead him upstairs and towards her nursery door. I look at him. He opens it up and looks around. "It's very beautiful, Lacie." "Yeah, the guys and Mr. Howard and Dr. Roberts did it for me. All of it." I say walking around and still being amazed at what they did for me. "You'll have to thank the older ones who helped me while you was going around banging on Bella." I say. He just shake his head looking in the crib.
"How much the crib cost?" He asks. "It cost a hefty amount. I said that I'll pay them back for buying." "Why?" "Because I had asked for it but I didn't think that they'll actually buy it but they did. It turns into a bed for her. So, she'll have it for a couple of years maybe till she's four or five." I say shrugging my shoulders. He looks around at the changing table and pick up the teddy bear.
I walk over and sit in the rocking chair. I look out of the window to see fog is coming over the town then I turn back to see Jacob still looking at the bear. "Did you use protection when you was going around sleeping with Bella?" I ask him. "I used protection, Lacie." "I would not know because you jumped at the chance to rock her world when you so called thought I was sleeping with Paul?" "I thought you was." "How? Because no words can take away from what you did and you got on me so much about Mr. Howard and you was going around sleeping with Bella already."
"No, I was not." "Yes, you was and everybody hid it. We been through so much and you jumped quick to thinking that I would mess it up over Paul of all people. You ran and told Bella. They broke it off. He don't want nothing to do with her. I heard he barely thinks of you and he going around whoring like no tomorrow over your lies." "It wasn't a lie." He say putting the bear down.
I calm myself down. I still got that high blood pressure problem. "Jacob, you jumped quick right into Bella's bed and didn't once ask me what was that smell in my house. I would've told you that Nurse Miller and Paul is sleeping together. I don't have to explain nothing to you because you and her did the deed and no telling how many times nor am I trying to look into two worthless assholes who ain't got shit going for them. I am about the life of Sarah and you nor her will get in the way of my beautiful healthy baby girl. What's done is done. No words can describe the hurt that you put me through for months. You destroyed my house." I say.
"No, I did not." "Yes, you did and sat around blaming Paul when nine out of ten he probably did too. You did not have to lie when everybody in the whole world knew you wanted Bella. My daughter is mine." "She's mine too." He growls out. "Don't use that tone in her room. You have not did nothing to be in her life since you left me high and dry for Bella and your cheap lies." I say. He just shake his head.
"You can do that all you want. You are not worth it. She ain't shit." "She's the world." "Great for you. She's not my world nor is she Paul's from how I'm seeing how he's been looking. That bitch is not allowed around my daughter. You'll see her when she's delivered. You're not coming into my room." "Okay, Lacie." "It is okay because you look real stupid to jump to that I was sleeping with Paul of all people because you smelled sex in my house." I say.
I take a minute to regain my composure. "I know what I smelt." He say looking at me. "Oh, well. What's done is done. It's no taking back anything and I moved on with my life from a teenage boy who ain't got nothing going for him. You don't bring no drama around me nor my daughter. Bella is your problem like I said months ago." I say rocking the chair.
"I'm the adult in the situation. The words cannot describe the hurt that you put me through thinking that I was having sex with Paul. We'll raise our daughter in a single parent home. I have moved on from you and Bella. No tears is wasted over a worthless boy like yourself. I was grown about it and invited you to see her nursery. The next time will be when she is born. You are not spending the night here ever in my house and still you are not welcomed. We cannot talk about anything because you got who you wanted. You can look around but you need to be out of my house before I wake up from my nap. Welcome to the real world of being a single parent. What I did not want for our daughter but you wanted." I say and getting up.
"I am going to take a nap and when I wake up. I want her door closed and you out of my house. Your girlfriend or fiancee is three to four houses down." I say walking out of the room and into my main room. I lay on the bed resting my swollen feet and having a time putting my legs on the bed. My stomach is too big and is getting in the way. I'm all good. He better be out of my house before I wake up.
I'm looking through Paul's fridge while he's out patrolling. He should be home soon in a couple of hours. His house is on point with the stinky stinky smell. It's like it just picked back up. I can tolerate the liquor and sex smell but it's something else that's in the air. I know he smells it. I call it yeast infection smell. I argh going through his fruit tray.
He only has one red apple. I sigh hearing a car door closing and I close the fridge door and make my way towards the front door. Nurse Miller or some tramp looking for more sex from Paul. Not today. I open the door and come face to face with Bella. She looks at me surprised before fixing her face. "Do I hit you in the face now or do I do it now?" I ask her.
"I just came to talk to Paul." She say. I stay silent just looking in my face. "So, my Jacob who is my wolf and father of my daughter had sex with you because he thought I slept with your wolf? I'm confused because i understand you have relationship problems between Paul and Edward but you had to bring my relationship down along with yours." I say and can tell she's trying to leave the front porch.
Speak. "You slept with Paul." "Why would I do that? I had my own wolf who would've been my husband and father of my child. We been through so much and the same as you and Paul but obviously you needed Jacob to make that three men triangle of them all around you. What-" She whispers something but I can't hear her. I can hear her if I want too but I don't use on trash.
"He said you had sex with Paul." "Bella, it's whatever. You can have Jacob worthless ass." "I don't want him." "Well, you can't have Paul. From the words of the wolves and everybody around in this tribe. I'm carrying his daughter." "It's supposed to be a son." "We decided. He decided. Jacob decided out of his mouth that it was going to be a girl way before her gender has been revealed." I take a breather.
"It's done and over with. If Paul do want you back, more power to that STD manwhore but for you to come and destroy my relationship and break up my family. I should whip your ass. Get from Paul's house." I say looking at him walking out the forest. She looks at him. "You made the decision to destroy relationships along with Jacob." I say looking at him walking past me and going into his bedroom.
She looks at him with sad eyes. "Bella." I say disappointed and slamming the door in her face. I walk into Paul's bedroom to see him standing naked by his dresser and his body is a holy god. No wonder girls drop their panties for him. "Lord." I say walking out and closing the door behind me. I touch on my burning cheeks. His butt is perfect. His eight pack abs. His penis is no joke.
I open the door back up to see him laying on the bed and I walk in. "You did not come to see Sarah's nursery." He doesn't respond. "I know you smell that scent of sex, liquor and yeast infection." I say. "That's you." "I don't have one and have not had one for months now, Paul. You can't keep beating around the bush at how Nurse Miller smells." I seriously say. He doesn't say anything.
"I said it before and I'll say it again. She going to get caught and when she do. Your name will come up as a motive and you will be called, Paul. Then, I will be called and everything will be spill out." I say walking towards him and fan his sheets scent towards me. I gag nearly throwing up on the wooden floor. "Oh, she must've came before she went to the school. Is that she does?" I ask him.
He doesn't answer. "She comes from the town to you then take that stinky smell to school were I visit her then that smell is on my clothes. Where Jacob got that crap from? Let's not add that she visited my house after seeing me at the bar were you and her love to meet up and plan a couple of sex things like that time you and her had that sex in the restroom of that nasty smelly bar, Paul." I say looking at him waiting on him to speak.
"I don't know what you talking about." He say getting up and exiting out of the bedroom. I follow behind him. "I'm just saying because it will be traced back to you, Paul. I can't have my house watched." I say as he walks into the kitchen and open the fridge. He slams the door hard breaking it off the hinges. "I threw out everything." I say sitting in a chair.
"I left you an apple." I say as he walks out of his back door and I get up following behind him making sure that I close the door. We're walking for at least five minutes. "I know you something is up with Nurse Miller. She is crazy. She brought that nasty smell to my house." I yell at him. He just keep on walking and I stop him. He turn around towards me.
"When does she visit you?" "In the morning and when we meet at the bar." "I'm just asking because this woman is crazy and she stinks. Either she has something or she smells of death." I say and hear branch snapping. "I don't know her real name." He say. "Do you know where she lives, Paul?" "No." "I don't believe that. She been at me for months and to know that she came around to you or it was the other way around. You and her brought that crap to my house and to Sarah." I say looking at Jared and Sam walking up.
They look at Paul. "Paul, this woman is a killer or not. I can't allow her to go around killing no more women that you keep sleeping with. Either, you handle her or I will." "Meaning what?" Sam asks me. "Meaning what I said, Sam. I'm not going to have her taking innocent lives or a Paul." I say looking at Paul. He just looks behind me. I turn to see who he's looking at. Oh, Jared.
"What are you going to do?" He asks me. Oh, so it's true. "You had your doubts too?" I ask him. "It was going around in my head, Lacie." "I don't know if that's true or not, Jared. I have to think. I can't just kill her. I don't want to go to hell." "Let me know when you think of something." I nod my head. I don't know if it's a trick or not. "That yeast infection smell." "Is you." Paul say. I nod my head walking back towards Paul's house.
"Don't do nothing that'll get you in trouble or cause harm to Sarah, Lacie." Sam yells. "I won't." I say walking up to his porch and walking into the house and walking out of my bathroom. I close the door and walk into my bedroom closing the door behind me. Either she's a killer. Has an STD or she's pregnant with Paul's baby. If it is, would not had been the first time and make me wonder if she was pregnant with Paul's baby before. It could've been a reason why she acts the way that she does. Nurse Miller is a crazy woman but she not going to bring that to my house. I'll have to check her out and deal with her.
