Elijah sat in the living room waiting for his brother and Ms. Forbes. He still was not sure if using the human would work. Straining his hearing he could hear them moving around in Klaus' chambers.

Taking a deep breath, not that he needed it, Elijah reached for his drink a glass of wine laced with blood.

Klaus had said that he could convince her without compulsion, but would she be able to handle it. Could this Caroline Forbes be a grifter capable of infiltrating The Five. If so how? The only plan they would have is to get her to gain their trust and then lead them into a trap. After that what then? They still had not been able to confirm whether this so called "Hunter's Curse" was true so they were operating on the basis that it was, but Klaus would only hold off for so long; curse or no curse.

There was another thing they had to figure out about this curse. Rebekah had told him that the hunter Alexander said the curse would make anyone who killed him go mad and eventually lead to them ending their own lives. However, is this curse just for vampires could humans kill them? If they compelled humans to kill them would the curse still get them?

"Why exactly do you need to compel me. I already told you I…"

"We are checking to see if the vervain is out of your system."

"Can't I just I don't know prick my finger? Can't you smell it in my blood?"

Elijah rose from his seat as he saw them enter.

"We can, but we would still have to compel you to see if it works."

"It will. I told you my father taught me, but every time I tried, I always failed."

Elijah cleared his throat annoyed that they were ignoring him.

"Did she agree?"

Klaus nodded before speeding out of the room and speeding back in with a needle. He took Caroline's hand and pricked her finger. Once he couldn't smell the scent of vervain he nodded towards his brother and took a seat.

Elijah flashed in front of Caroline staring into her eyes. Caroline knowing what was about to happen took a step back, but Elijah put his hands on her shoulders stopping her.

"Klaus hand me the glass."

Klaus growled in annoyance and made his way to the alcohol cart and picked up one of the glasses filling it up a quarter of the way. Then handed the glass to Elijah.

Elijah nodded a thanks to his brother before taking a flask from the inside pocket of his suit and emptying a clear liquid into the glass.

"Isn't this a bit theatrical, 'Lijah."

Elijah ignored his brother and stared into Caroline's eyes watching as her pupils started dilating. "Drink."

Caroline reached for the glass and brought it to her lips.

Klaus flashed behind her the minute she finished the glass and caught her as she passed out. "Was that really necessary?" Klaus asked taking a sniff of Caroline's glass with his free hand.

"Take her downstairs I already gathered the other vampires."

Klaus sat in the chair in front of Caroline waiting for her to wake up. Kane one of the older and better trained vampires had finished setting up a table with weapons. Particularly crossbows and stakes for Caroline to use when she woke up. After a quick talk last night, the brothers decided that the best way to realize if Caroline was up for the task was to test her against different level vamps. They knew she was capable of killing and had managed against younger vampires but if she really wanted to join forces with the five, she would have to know how to go up against the older ones.

She would go against three groups of vamps two of those were individual teams and one was a two-member team. The first was barely a century old named Lisa. She had a range level of skills when it came to fighting, but she was more of a thinker than a hitter. Her sire was unknown, but she was found by Elijah and he taught her the basics in exchange for information.

The second was a tag team. A man named Kane and a woman named Alice they were best friends and thick as thieves. They were both around their mid to late 200's and were turned by Kol when he caught the woman pickpocketing him and later again saw her and the man breaking into a Lord's home, during a dinner he was invited to, to steal the man's jewels. They were excellent thieves and even better fighters.

The final fighter was ironically a man named Michael he was in his early 300's and was trained by Klaus. He was one of Bekah's former lovers. Klaus and Kol were originally going to kill him but Kol thought it would be better to sire him and make him into their puppet. He had become one of the best soldiers Klaus had ever seen and on occasion freelanced as a spy for the originals.

Basically, the poor girl didn't stand a chance. Klaus heard her heart speed up and he knew she was waking up.

"Hello love."

Caroline's eyes fluttered open as she looked around taking in her surroundings. There were several torch lights and candles, but the room was still a bit dim. Her focus went to the table behind Klaus she saw a cross bow with wooden arrows, along with a few daggers, and several wooden stakes.

"What are you doing?"

"How old was the oldest vampire you have ever fought?"

Caroline blinked and her eyes crinkled in thought.

"Why?"

"Just answer the question."

Caroline paused to think.

"Not really sure. It wasn't like I had asked."

Klaus groaned. It was very unlikely that she fought anyone a century old let alone older.

"Well love you are about to face some old and powerful vampires and you won't be able to leave this room until you beat one"

"What!"

"It wasn't my idea but The Five are probably one of the best hunters in the entire world. Your name might be able to get you through the metaphorical door, but it will do nothing to help you afterwards."

"What exactly am I meant to do?"

Klaus opened his mouth to explain but was cut off by Elijah as he made his way down the stairs into the cellar with a brunette girl behind him.

"You will start off by fighting Lisa here she has just turned 100 a few months ago she is rather exceptional for one so young." Elijah answered amused as he saw Caroline gape at him.

"Right then. Ms. Forbes you are welcome to use any and all weapons on the table. Lisa try not to kill her."

The brunette girl smirked at the try and nodded.

"Wait. I didn't ask for this!"

Elijah glared at the blonde flashing in front of her. "You agreed to aid us in return for your freedom if you can't do this just inform us now."

The 'or else' was implied but Caroline still heard the words and gulped. She turned towards Klaus who somehow ended up being one of the less frightening of the two.

Klaus sighed and scratched the back of his head. He knew Elijah not only doubted his plan, but the girl being capable of infiltrating The Five. This was his way of challenging him and getting rid of Caroline in the process.

Caroline ran towards the table grabbing the stake nearest the edge and turned to Klaus giving him a pleading look.

Klaus pressed his lips tightly and turned away.

Caroline let out a growl in annoyance and turned to the vampire girl behind her. She was smirking clearly amused and in no way worried that Caroline would even get close to use the stake in her hands.

Caroline knew she wouldn't have a chance, but Bill never taught her to give up. She chuckled internally, technically he taught her to defend herself enough to 'retreat strategically'. There was nowhere to retreat where Klaus and Elijah wouldn't find her, so she had to win. She threw the stake at the vamp like she did last night, but the vampire quickly sped to the side before it reached her.

Caroline quickly turned to grab another weapon off the table only for the brunette to flash in front of her and grab her by the throat. Caroline gasped for air as Lisa squeezed, she was about to add more pressure enough to knock the human out but was stopped by a hand on her wrist.

Klaus quickly yanked the girl away and pulled Caroline towards him trying to calm the girl as she was struggling to get away from his grasp breathing heavily.

"Niklaus." Elijah said bored and not surprised that his brother was intervening.

Klaus shook his head stopping Elijah from continuing whatever he was going to say and dragging Caroline back upstairs to his room.

Caroline looked at him curiously as she sat on the bed her hands protecting her neck.

"You will have to go back down there and beat her. Don't let her get close. Attack from a distance and if she does get close you better have a weapon up your sleeve. Got it."

"Why are you helping me?"

"Elijah won't let me intervene a second time if you don't win you will die."

"I can't. She's too fast. Too strong. If I can't take her how will I even manage against the others."

Klaus sighed, "You're right love. Thing is you are not meant to win. You are meant to last."

Caroline's eyes widened at that her thoughts racing. So, she was supposed to lose? But if she was supposed to fail, why save her? Why put her through this?

"Why?"

"The Five are the best hunters out there. They are human and somehow capable of hurting some of the oldest vampires. When you infiltrate them, you have to be able to keep up."

"When?"

Klaus turned to the door he could hear Elijah making his way up. "Come in."

Caroline turned to the door watching as Elijah walked in.

"She is weak Niklaus. We should kill her now. Rebekah and Kol are waiting."

Klaus stood and moved in front of her blocking her from Elijah's view. Elijah laughed and took a step forward.

"She is a Forbes."

"That does not mean anything."

"I'll train her."

"Why bother. Why is this plan so important to you?"

"They played us. They deserve payback. Don't you want to see their eyes when they realize they have lost."

"We do not need her."

Klaus glared barely holding back from letting his fangs out before turning to look at Caroline. She was quiet looking between the two brothers. He didn't know why he wanted to keep her alive, but he needed to. He knew there was only one way his brother would ever agree with him on this.

"I will give them to you."

Elijah raised an eyebrow.

"If my plan fails. I will give them to you."

"All of them."

Klaus nodded still looking at Caroline.

Elijah laughed, "Give me your word."

Klaus turned, "They're yours."

"Your word Niklaus. I will not take anything less."

"Fine, brother. If my plan fails, I will give them to you. You have my word."

Elijah smiled in triumph. "We leave tonight."

Klaus glared as his brother left and went to sit on the bed next to her.

"Why did you do that?"

Klaus turned to look at her. "How did your father train you to fight against compulsion?"

"What?"

"You can't fight, at least not yet. You need to be able to fight off compulsion. I can get you vervain, but that is not nearly as impressive."

"Why does it matter if it's not impressive?"

"Answer the question."

"Why do I have to answer when you won't?"

He sighed frustrated by her questioning him. "Like I have said multiple times The Five are the best hunters in the world. If you want to be one of them you need to bring something to the table. The amount of humans who can fight off compulsion is practically slim to none. That made your father special. So how did he do it? How did he try training you?"

Caroline nodded not entirely pleased with that answer but it was enough for now. "He would drag in a vamp and get them to compel me."

Klaus looked at her in shock briefly before nodding. "Well then. I'll compel you."

"It won't work."

Klaus stood and made his way towards the door an idea already flowing into his head.

"It will."

A/N Hey everyone so as you can see I will be continuing this. I was actually surprised that someone reviewed/faved practically right after posting. So thank you. Hopefully you guys can let me know what you think of this chapter.

I want to add some stuff about Elijah and Klaus in the story. For one Klaus is not a hybrid he has not broken his curse. I don't even think he's met Katerina yet so... yeah he is just an Original Vampire on the same playing field as Elijah and his other siblings. Also I want Elijah to have a little more authority or at least equal to Klaus since he is the oldest Original (excluding Finn and Freya) so there will be some struggle and arguments but hey they're sibiling they're supposed to fight.

Okay so Elijah really doesn't care if they use her or not, but at the same time he isn't comfortable with someone, a human especially, joining the Originals and helping them take out their most important threat (at least at the moment) there are already so many variables in play the Hunter's Curse being a major one and adding a human who he doesn't trust is not helping.

As for Klaus, there is something about her that interests him whether it be that she is all alone, or doesn't care about death as long as its on her own terms, or maybe its that she is willing to jump out of a two story to survive, idk its up for discussion at the moment. As for him liking her well there is NO romantic interest, not YET just curiosity and he is focused on how to use her to take down The Five while getting her to trust him.

Now about Caroline. So far she is just reacting and trying to do what she can to win her freedom. She will receive more training in compulsion courtesy of Klaus in the next chapter but compulsion won't be a problem the real problem is she's human and therefore weak. So while she might end up being able to fight compulsion like Bill it won't matter if an older vamp gets close enough to rip her heart out. Caroline will be getting hurt a lot probably, but hopefully Klaus will provide her with blood every now and then.

Okay so if you guys are still with me I'm going to do some shameless self promotion lol check out my story "Sunrise" it's also TVD the only issue some of you might have (if yall are hard core Klaroline fans) is that the story is (gasp) Daroline. So if you can overlook that bit I'm sure you guys will like it. The Damon is a mix of his personality as a human and his personality in S1 thro actually it could be whenever he acts like a total ass.

Final thing updates: I posted this story around last week and I only have like 4 chaps so unlike my sunrise story where I have a majority of chapters done I will have to write more for this story. I want to stay at least two chapters away from you guys at all times so the next time I post won't be till say October 18 - October 25. After that well I'll let you know.

Aaaaaaaaaand thats it!

Thank you so much for reading. Please give me your feedback if yall want...

Till next time!
