Caroline frowned as she looked at her reflection in the hand mirror Klaus had gotten her upon her request. She was also finally wearing feminine clothes. Klaus had made good on his word and gotten her a nice dress from the Captain's daughter. Not that anyone would actually see her in it. She sighed as she grabbed the large dark grey cloak that was laying on her bed and put it on. It was larger than the dress reaching the floor. The sleeves were very large as well.

Klaus had dropped by an hour ago waking her and commanding her to get dressed and wear his cloak for when they left the ship. He wanted to make sure that no one would see her face lest word of her presence with the Mikaelsons somehow reached The Five. The blonde rolled her eyes, the man was nothing if not paranoid.

She tied the cloak around her frame and reached for the hood to see how it would fit over her head. When she heard a sharp knock.

"Who is it?" Caroline asked as she placed the hand mirror in a small bag that already held her journal, some of her clothes (the outfit she had on when they boarded, two shirts and trousers from Klaus, a large blouse and skirt from the ship's cook, and another dress belonging to the Captains daughter, ) a few weapons (some stakes and daggers), and a hairbrush.

"Elijah."

Caroline opens the door, "Are we leaving yet?"

Elijah tilts his head as he takes in her appearance, "You should pull up your hood. Make sure your face is covered. Remember anonymity is key."

Caroline restrained herself from rolling her eyes and did as he asked. "I feel ridiculous."

Elijah bit his lip in an attempt to stop from smiling she looked rather like a child in clothes far too large for her. The cloak belonged to his brother, so it was rather long considering the differences in his brother's height and her small frame. He also noticed how the hood fell below her nose covering her face and impairing her vision.

"We should be heading out in a few minutes," Elijah says finally answering her first question and ignoring her comment. He doubts she would find his agreement favorable.

"Where's Klaus?" she asks pushing her hood back down and pulling her sleeves up to her elbows.

"Tying up loose ends." His brother was compelling the crew to forget about them the minute they stepped off the ship. Klaus was also giving the captain strict orders to gather all the supplies necessary so that he and his crew would be able to leave in 12 hours before they drew more attention.

Caroline raises an eyebrow, "He isn't killing anyone is he?"

"No," he answered then turned to look at her bag picking it up and placing it outside her door. There should be a crewmate heading over to load her belonging on the carriage his sister sent over. "Before we depart there are a few details we must go over."

Caroline nodded at him to go on choosing to take a seat on the bed while he took the chair.

"As you know yourself, Niklaus and I will be joining our siblings."

Caroline nodded, "Your brother and sister."

"Yes, our younger brother Kol and our baby sister Rebekah. Our siblings are not entirely aware of your situation."

"What do you mean?"

"Our siblings are aware of our arrival, not so much of yours," he spoke apologetically.

"Why not?"

"The last time we corresponded was the day before we left. I had a witch send them a letter. At the time I had no idea of my brother's plot to use you against the Five. I was completely under the guise that you'd be dead in a couple of days after providing us with the information we needed. - "

Caroline sighed as she grabbed a strand of her hair to play with not exactly sure what she could say to that. It felt like so long ago when she was at the palace when in reality it was only a little over a week. A week longer than she had expected to live. She still remembered the fear she felt as she paced in the empty room before Klaus arrived thinking he would kill her.

"- I recommend that you stay out of sight till I tell you otherwise during our reunion as I am sure there is bound to be some disagreements. Once we are settled it's probably best to avoid contact with them until Niklaus and I settle the matter."

"Disagreements about what exactly?"

"The plan. We are a very close-knit group as you have grown to know these past couple of days and an outsider, a human one at that will take some getting used to. Our brother Kol will probably want to eat you and our sister, Rebekah, well, let us just say she has never been… fond of other women, so she'll likely want to kill you as well."

Caroline licked her lips, "But you won't let them hurt me, right?"

"That is correct. I gave my word, keep your end of the deal and no one in my family will hurt you… however, my siblings like to test boundaries, so it would be best to listen to my earlier instructions and stay within arms-length of me or Klaus when we are with them, at least during introductions -" he pauses as he hears Klaus telling him he's finished, "It's time," he tells her abruptly and leaves the room.

Caroline nods pulling up her hood and following him up to the top deck. She was a bit worried about meeting the other Mikaelsons, but she will make sure to do as Elijah told her.

Klaus smiles as he jumps off the carriage. Only to let out a sharp gasp as he is quickly tackled into a bear hug by his baby sister.

"Nik!"

Klaus raises his arms wrapping them tightly around Rebekah, "Hello Sister."

Elijah rolls his eyes as he steps off, "Nice to see I have been missed."

Elijah's eyes narrow in on a blur heading straight for him and grabs the figure tackling it to the ground, "Nice try Kol."

Kol smiles toothily as he rises and spreads his arms, "I just wanted to greet my dear brother with a hug."

Elijah smiled tightly and accepted the hug, "Nice to see you, Kol."

"Lijah!" Rebekah yells as if just realizing the presence of her other brother and rushes to hug him, "I missed you too."

"And I you, Bekah."

Klaus turned to look at his family. It was rare for them to be together like this. He gave it an hour before the yelling started. It had only been a few months since they have last seen each other. To immortal beings like themselves, that time felt brief but their sense of family, of Always and Forever remained. Whether it be a month, a year, or another 500 years they would be together. It was up to him to make sure it remained that way. First, they would defeat the Five, later unlock his curse, and once he was at his full strength, he will rid the Earth of their father. For only once Mikael was dead would they all be safe.

"Alright so now that the pleasantries are over why don't we head inside there's some news we need to discuss," Klaus said breaking the camaraderie.

Elijah nodded watching as his younger siblings turned to look at him and Klaus. "What news?" Kol asked.

Klaus nodded back at Elijah his gaze going to the carriage behind them.

"Sweetheart, you can come out now."

The youngest Mikaelson siblings raised a brow as a cloaked figure stepped off the carriage and made their way to stand behind Klaus. Kol could make out a heartbeat instantly. A human. He flashed in between the two trying to peek under the hood, but they refused to raise their face.

"You come with treats?"

Klaus growled turning around and grabbing Kol from his shirt collar, "She is not to be eaten brother, she is mine."

Kol smirked about to retort on his brother's possessiveness when Elijah cleared his throat and motioned for them to move indoors.

Caroline looked around the room it was far from the palace but at least it was clean. The place they were staying at looked like an abandoned house she hadn't seen much but passing the entrance was a flight of stairs that led to the second story she could make up a hallway figuring that the bedrooms would be upstairs. The ground floor contained a living room that was probably smaller than her bedroom at the palace. She could make out a dining room through the archway to the right. There was what she thinks must be a closet under the stairs and straight past the stairs she can see a door although where it leads, she's not sure.

The space did not look like it was falling apart but there was a severe lack of any extravagance that screamed "Mikaelson". There was only one large couch in the living room along with three iron chairs brought over from the dining room. The Dining room had a beautiful, long, glass table, with five chairs, but eight plate settings, and a vase of flowers. She guessed that must have been Klaus's sister trying to add a bit of a feminine touch to the nothingness.

She turned to the family as she heard Rebekah laugh, "This is a joke right."

"I assure you sister it's no joke," Elijah told her. He was currently standing by the fireplace. Klaus and Kol were sitting in the dining room chairs and Rebekah was on the couch leaning on the armrest.

Caroline watched as the other blonde eyed her critically before turning to Klaus who nods.

"The plan will work. We will go over all the details later. Rebekah, I want you to take Caroline shopping she needs new clothes. Get her a couple of trousers and a few dresses a new cloak or two would be nice since I will be wanting mine back. Caroline, make sure to keep your hood down at all costs we don't need you getting spotted."

Rebekah looked like she wanted to complain but thought better of it.

"Which is my room I think I shall take a short nap. I haven't slept in two days and I just spent all my energy compelling an entire crew. I'm sure Elijah and Caroline would like some rest as well."

Rebekah nodded towards the door straight ahead that Caroline had been looking at earlier. "Elijah's room is upstairs; the first door on the left. Kol is the door after his. I have the first room on the right with the balcony view and the door next to mine across Kol is the bath."

Klaus' eyes widened "Is there only one bathroom in this entire house?"

"Two one in your room and the one upstairs. I already got after Kol that he better keep it clean or else I don't think I have to threaten you, Elijah, do I?"

Elijah shook his head a smile on his face at his sister. She was one of the rare few people who could lighten his mood.

"Good. What about Caroline?"

Rebekah shrugged, "She can sleep here on the floor or couch. I can probably scrounge up a blanket for her."

"Is there no other room?"

Rebekah smirked, "She could always sleep in the cellar it is rather cold there though."

Klaus sighed turning to look at Caroline who was standing in the archway near the dining room. She was away from the group but was listening in and watching their interactions intently.

"She'll stay with you."

"No! I will not share. The room is tiny as is." Rebekah growled her arms crossed over her chest.

"The rooms aren't that small," Kol told his brothers shaking his head at their sister's antics, "She has a large wardrobe, a queen-sized bed with extra space in there for a king to fit in as well, not to mention the balcony."

Rebekah rolled her eyes, "I'm still not sharing. She's your pet, Nik, she can stay with you."

Klaus sighed and turned to Elijah for help.

"She has a point Nik. You wanted a pet you should take care of it." Kol cut in with a chuckle before Elijah could respond.

Klaus barely restrained a growl as he motioned for Caroline to come next to him. "It seems you will be staying with me. However, as I need rest, I think it's best for you and Bekah to head off shopping now. Get a head start on the day and all that," He reaches into his pocket and takes out a small leather pouch emptying a few gold coins into his palm and handing them to her, "This should be enough if it isn't Rebekah will take care of it."

Caroline looks at the blonde original who looks annoyed at the pair and turns to Klaus.

"You'll be fine Rebekah will make sure of it."

Caroline doubted that but nodded as she turned to the blonde who rolled her eyes and flashed upstairs to return with her own cloak.

"Well, what are you waiting for," Rebekah snapped as she slammed the door on her way out.

Klaus let out a chuckle once he couldn't hear Rebekah mumbling curses under her breath.

"That went better than expected."

Kol moved to sit on the couch running a hand through his hair waiting for Elijah to finish catching him up on what he missed as Klaus left heading towards his bedroom.

"If we can't beat those wretched humans what makes you think that little girl can?"

"Klaus has a plan."

"And exactly what is that plan?"

Elijah sighed rising from his seat and heading to the couch pushing Kol to make room for him, "We have the girl infiltrate the wretched and lead them to us."

Kol paused despite what his brothers thought he wasn't a total idiot and if he could see the flaws in Klaus' plan, he knew Elijah would too. Which begged the question of why?

"And we're placating Klaus, why?"

Elijah turned towards Klaus's door straining his hearing, "Sage?"

"In all the rooms. I know how much we like our privacy, so why are we

following this plan?"

"Klaus agreed to hand over our daggers when… if his plan fails."

Kol's eyes narrow, "And you believed him?"

"He gave me his word, Kol."

"Yes because no one has ever broken their word." Suddenly as if a lightning bolt went off in his head he smirked, "I get it, so we're rooting for his tasty little pet to fail. Use the pretty thing as a distraction… have the Five figure her out. She'll be collateral damage and we'll have brother dearest hand over the daggers."

Before he realized what was happening, he felt a hand grab at his throat, "Li-jah!" he wheezed out as he reached up to grab at his brother's wrist. "We will be following Klaus's plans and let him succeed or fail on his own. As for the 'pretty thing'. Her name is Caroline Forbes and while her survival isn't a major goal in the grand scheme; Klaus and I have given her our word that she will not be harmed or killed in any way. She is under our protection therefore she is under your and Rebekah's protection as well. Do I make myself clear?"

Kol coughs out a yes and takes a deep breath once Elijah removes his grip.

"Now, the first step of Klaus's plan is to have her infiltrate the group. She will be doing this by slaying the Ripper that has been plaguing Nova Scotia."

Caroline stumbled behind the blond as her feet kept stepping on her cloak. She would have asked the girl, Rebekah, to slow down but from what she noticed she doubted the girl would care about what she wants. Caroline grabs at her cloak with one hand and fixes her hood with the other so she could see where she was heading. Of course, while she was doing this the blonde vampire in front of her had decided to stop walking causing the human to bump into her.

She awaits some snappy insult, but only receives a scoff. Caroline watches as the blonde knocks at the house they've just arrived at.

"I thought we were going shopping?"

"Don't talk," The original muttered as the front door opened revealing a grey-haired elderly woman, "Hello. Invite us in."

"Come in."

Rebekah smiles and steps inside waiting until she hears Caroline follow before she turns back to the woman, "Is Faye in?" The woman nods, "Perfect be a dear and get her."

Once the woman left Caroline turned to Rebekah reaching for her hood-

"Keep that up."

"Okay. What are we doing here? Why are you compelling that woman? Klaus said- "

"We are here to get you clothes. I'm compelling her because it's the quickest and most efficient way to get in and out of here. As for my brother he doesn't really care about you. He's just using you. He wants clothes for you, but do you really think he cares about how I go about getting them? No, he does not."

Caroline bites her tongue and glares daggers at the blonde as she hears a set of footsteps entering the room.

"Ugh, what do you want?" A sharp accented voice not quite English more Australian asks.

Caroline could see Rebekah smirk, "Don't act like you don't miss me. I need clothes… well she needs clothes but while I'm here might as well, right."

Caroline watches as the woman enters her vision, she had caramel-colored skin, hazel eyes- leaning more towards green at the moment, with wavy dark brown locks. She seemed to be about an inch or two taller than her but at a glance to her feet, she notices her boots so she's probably the same height as her. The woman 'Faye' was wearing dark brown trousers and a forest green blouse.

She makes sure to keep her head down as the woman circles her, "She's human? What exactly do you want with her?"

Rebekah rolls her eyes crossing her arms over her chest, "None of your business, Faye."

The woman glares sharply stretching her arm out causing Rebekah to wince, "You are in my home asking for my help that makes it my business. You also know my rule I help you, but I won't help you kill humans in the process."

Caroline's eyes narrow from the woman's outstretched palm to the blond Original who seems to be wincing in pain.

"You've made your point."

She watches as Faye lowers her arm and Rebekah composes herself as if nothing happened. "So, what exactly do you need her for," Faye asks.

"I personally don't but let us just say Nik and 'Lijah are quite fond of her and leave it at that."

"Does she talk?"

Caroline opens her mouth to retort but stops as Rebekah sends her a glare, "Yes, now I need you to take her measurements and make sure she stays here away from the windows. I'm heading to the square to pick up some material for you to use to make the clothes, we will both need some new trousers, blouses, skirts, dresses, the works. Oh, hold on- "Rebekah walks towards Caroline grabbing a hold of her cloak and ripping it leaving only the hood, "There we go. She can't take her hood off a precaution."

"Why?" the witch asks.

"I'm not going to dignify that with a response… Just know that if you see her face… I'll rip out your heart. Witch or no witch we both know which of us is stronger," Rebekah threatens as she flashes out of the room slamming the door.

"The girl can't even take a century-old vampire how is she supposed to kill a tricentennial ripper?!" Kol asks.

"Klaus has been training her she could probably take on Lisa by now, but I see your point. Klaus plans to continue her training for a few more days if she is still not ready, we move to Plan B."

Kol shakes his head, "Well sorry to tell you" he starts with a tone that suggests the opposite, "but brother might have to move up the timeline. Word on the street is that the hunters have managed to find the Ripper and are planning to take him down at nightfall. Not sure if today or tomorrow, but best bet is probably tonight. They aren't a patient lot."

Elijah sighs glancing at Klaus not surprised to see his brother leaning against the open door of his room (he had heard him come out when Kol mentioned moving up the timeline). "You two will wait till the girls return to continue this discussion for now it seems my sleep will have to wait. Kol, what does 'the street' say on where to find the Ripper?"

Caroline tries not to squirm as the woman wraps the measuring tape around her waist marking the measurements down in a journal then moving to measure the length from her waist down.

"What exactly did you do to get yourself involved with that lot?"

Caroline frowned not sure if she should talk remembering the orders from the original. The brunette sighed finishing up the final measurements before taking a step back, "You can trust me."

Caroline scoffs causing the woman to smirk, "At least that got a reaction. Look I know you don't know me but getting involved with the Originals is just shortening your trip to the grave. If you tell me what they want from you I might be able to help?"

Caroline bit her lip, "Why would you want to help me?"

Faye shrugged in an 'I don't, but it's not like if I have anything else to do manner'. "We're both human and while I may have come to an arrangement with those demons being able to have one over on them is always a good thing."

"You're a witch. Why would you work with them?"

The witch shakes her head, "You first."

The blonde sighs moving off the platform she was on, it was really just a crate, and sat down. "That's a long story."

"Shorten it for me then."

"I help them out and they'll let me go. Now you."

Faye licks her lips moving to sit beside her, "Fair enough. It's more of an 'I scratch their backs they scratch mine. They offer up protection for me and my coven as well as our future descendants and we offer up our services whether in witchcraft or in this case as a seamstress in return.

Caroline raised an eyebrow, "You willingly got into bed with them?" She almost didn't catch the woman flinch almost, "I thought witches hated vampires?"

"We do. It's just complicated."

Caroline laughs, "Hypocritical more like. You hate them and what they stand for, but if they can help, you're all for it."

The woman clenched her fists slightly before unclenching them, "I'm not sure if I like you more now or before when you wouldn't talk."

Caroline smiles under her hood, "So how long will it take for you to make the clothes?"

"Rebekah asked for quite a bit so usually it would take a week or two but knowing her she probably wants the work done fast. I can use magic and have it done in two-three days. Possibly tomorrow evening if I get another member of my coven to help."

Caroline had really hoped to have her own clothes by now, but she guessed waiting another day was okay. Faye catches the slump on the blonde's shoulders and turns to her, "If you want a rush-order I can probably get you one outfit ready to go by tonight. It'll just be triple my usual fee, don't worry the Mikaelsons can afford it."

Caroline couldn't really argue with that logic.

Rebekah and Caroline walked back into the Originals house Caroline wearing a new lilac dress with a new dark blue cloak fitted perfectly and black boots that Rebekah had picked up for her at the market.

Klaus nodded in approval only to frown as Rebekah threw his old ripped cloak at him, "When I said I wanted it back, I meant in one piece."

Rebekah smiled innocently and shrugged, "Oops."

Klaus rolled his eyes, "Where's the rest?"

"They'll be done by tomorrow."

"Alright," Klaus paused motioning for the women to take a seat on the couch, "Darling, I know I said we would have a few more days, but unfortunately we must act fast. Your audition to join the hunters will be tonight."

Caroline took a deep breath as she watched the five men enter the warehouse. Klaus had told her to give them a few minutes before swooping in through the window and killing the Ripper. She had her crossbow and a couple other weapons on her though for some reason she really doubts she needs them. Klaus seemed pretty confident about that when he was going over the plan.

"You said I had time. I can't- "

"Not to worry Caroline, I have taken care of everything. All you have to do is show up and kill the ripper."

"Oh, is that all!"

She watched as his lips curled upwards into a not-quite smile, "You can do it. Now here's how it's going to go down. Part One: requires patience. You will wait till The Five go in. Observe them give them a couple minutes to find the rippah then you wait till he gives you the signal."

Caroline raised a brow, "What's the signal?"

Caroline watches The Five and was in awe at how they moved. They stayed near the shadows looking for the vampire. They had total awareness of one another. Caroline couldn't tell them apart in the darkness, but she could just make out the outline of their shadows. Rebekah had told her that the leader would be Alexander. "The one with a stick up his arse will be Alexander he's a no good bastard and is leading the lot. He is the one you need to get to first, he'll also be the most suspicious." Apparently, in addition to that piece of advice Alexander was also a flirt, but that she should in no way fall for him as he was a lying cheat. Her attention moved to the others. "The short one of the bunch is Jeremiah" and short was operative considering he seemed to be around Rebekah's height maybe an inch or so shorter so like 5'6-7, the large one 'the meathead' was Vaughn, the tall skinny 'beanpole' was Conrad, and the final one was Jordan surprisingly Rebekah and Kol didn't have much to say on him just that he must have been a new recruit from the last time they saw them.

She spotted a blur and before she knew it the show had started the vampire having jumped out from its hiding spot. The hunters turned to face him and started attacking in various forms of hand to hand against him. They seemed to be handling the situation then it went downhill as the vampire reached out grabbing one of them and throwing him at another knocking both to the ground the vampire paused almost sniffing the air, and Caroline held her breath as she watched his eyes narrowed in on hers. He expected him to flash behind her but instead, he grabbed a shelf and threw it at the hunters giving her an opening to shoot him from behind.

"After the signal shoot first, but do not aim for the heart," Klaus ordered, Elijah and Kol nodding next to him.

"Why the hell not?" Rebekah asked as she moved to take a seat on one of the steel chairs.

"Because," Elijah cut in, "We want them to see what Caroline can do."

Klaus nodded, "When you take him out it has to be up close and personal. A stake through the heart."

"What if I can't?"

Klaus clenched his teeth, "If you can't then I have no use for you, and we're back to where we started."

She licked her lips taking a deep breath as she raised her crossbow and aimed. She knew this was what she was supposed to do, but it still felt wrong she was killing as a part of a larger plot to take down her own kind she was siding with the beasts because regardless of how Klaus and Elijah have helped her grow and trained her that's what they were and she shouldn't lose sight of that. She pressed on the trigger.

"After you are done with Step Two: Killing the Ripper we move on to Step three."

Caroline nods, "Infiltrating the Five."

Klaus laughs, "No. Step Three: Get the hell out."

"What?"

"Think of it as a challenge. In the sixth century in Medieval Europe knights challenged one another by throwing down their gauntlets and daring their opponents to pick them up. You will drop your gauntlet then wait for them to come to you."

Caroline jumped down from the rafters taking a moment to steady herself before shooting at the Ripper again. She had its attention as well as that of The Five she waited for it to flash towards her and ducked making sure to quickly turn, holster her crossbow, and jab a stake through the blood sucker's chest cavity. She takes a moment as she watches the body thud onto the floor skin turning grey before smiling and turning to look at her audience all the while making sure to keep her hood down covering her hair. She tilts her head to the group then nods before rushing back into the shadows and heading out through a side exit Klaus found for her. She just made it onto the dirt road outside before she was swooped up and taken out of sight.

"That was perfect, sweetheart. I knew you wouldn't let me down," Klaus tells her as they reach the house. Kol a step behind them.

"How did it go?" Elijah asks nodding towards the food already set in the dining room.

Klaus smirks as he pulled out a chair and took a seat, Caroline beside him on one side Rebekah on the other. Kol next to Rebekah and Elijah on Caroline's other side.

Kol laughs "It was brilliant. You should have waited a bit longer to see their faces. I'd say they definitely picked up the gauntlet."

Caroline smiled finally being able to lower her hood and look at the spread in front of her. "How did you do that? With the Ripper I mean?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about. Now let us celebrate this win we can focus on our next moves tomorrow."

Hours Earlier

The Ripper of Nova Scotia groaned as he was slammed against the wall. A strong grip making his way inside his chest cavity and squeezing his heart, "Now mate, tonight a certain someone will make you a visit here's what I want you to do…" Klaus growled having tracked down and broken into the Ripper's warehouse catching him by surprise.

A/N

Hey everyone! So first off let me apologize for posting this late with the holidays and all I kinda got a bit behind.

Things I want to let you guys know I'm making this story take place around the early 1400's pre Katherine but this story is pretty much like I mentioned in the summary AU. The hunters are a mix of the modern hunters since I didn't really want to look for the names of the older hunters. I kept Alex and then just changed the names a bit Jeremiah is Jeremy/Conrad is Conner etc. so if you want to picture how they look like more or less. I might bring in some of the scooby gang like maybe Bonnie and Matt but for sure not the Salvatore's or Elena.

Faye is basically just a witch version of Hailey why well I loved Pheobe's character in the Secret Circle so I just wanted to incorporate her a bit. I kinda incorporated characters from other shows (For example Ulises is a character from El Barco) too but they aren't really a main part of the story.

I will probably be taking a bit longer with updates so just keep an eye out. I hope you guys liked this chapter and there will be more Caroline bonding with Kol and Bekah in later chapters.

Till next time.
