Author's Note: My deepest apologies for taking so long for this story and trying but failing to come up with new ideas. But finally a new chapter is here, and this is inspired by AndTails' version of Sonic X and it's prequel, but in a different sort of way, per se.
So finally, as possibly the last story to be updated for 2021, here's the long awaited chapter!

Chapter 8: Many New Meetings.
Sonic had searched high and low for the mysterious Mobian Cat that held the power over flames, but he always ended up coming up short which frustrated him. It was getting on his nerves, yet he couldn't give up. He stood on a lamp post gazing up at the sky and city across the highway, deep in thought.
"This is getting so weird. Who could that cat possibly be?" The teenage hero thought to himself, his arms folded against his chest. It felt a mixture of deja vu yet a whole new experience at the same time. His mind kept on replying on the mysterious light and the girl's sudden appearance. Maybe they were late and she was having a hard time adjusting.
'Could it be that she really did travel across Space and Time? Is she scared? Is she going through what I had dreamt up three weeks back?' The blue hedgehog thought to himself, growing more and more concerned by the minute. Maybe that's why she attacked and fled; it was in self-defense.
In his dream, Sonic never hurt anyone on purpose, and mainly just fled with his supersonic speed. So many questions with so little answers, and teenager wanted the latter. He wondered if this girl was nervous and, honestly, he was worried that things were about to go down badly. He never expected this to happen, before a thought came into mind.
"What if me exchanging some of my unneeded Chaos Energy to the Chaos Stone is the cause of this? What if something went wrong? If that's the case, then...Did I mess up somehow? Is it really...all my fault?" Sonic whispered to himself, becoming very uneasy that his insides were starting to squirm, feeling a chill run down his spine, and he was starting to feel scared.
At first Sonic thought that the human continents rising due to what happened along with his Dream-link with Chris may have messed up with Space and Time, but the blue hedgehog quickly dismissed that theory as that had been three weeks ago and nothing else weird happened after that until now. He then remembered what the Chaos Stone said before the blue hedgehog reunited with Knuckles and Tikal.
"Be careful how you use the Chaos Emeralds...Your journeys will continue to be dangerous, I have faith in your pure heart and outstanding courage."
Realizing that he may be overreacting, Sonic shook his head mentally to get a hold of himself as standing here thinking about thoughts and theories weren't helping matters with this latest new problem. Either way, his only clue was to find this girl and figure out where to go from-
WHOOSH!
A sound of small but high-speed engine running for a split second and the wind blowing snapped Sonic out of his thoughts, causing him to spun his head around and saw some kind of green blur dash off into the highway and into the distance. Gasping in shock, confusion and curiosity, he smirked as excitement quickly filled his entire body, calming him down from his nervous system.
"Well, well. Looks like I'll be finding an answer to one new mystery at least." He declared to himself before leaping off of the post and stretched his legs and arms before speeding off to chase after the mysterious green blur, leaving a trial of a blue blur in his wake.
Meanwhile, the green blur is revealed to be Jet the Hawk who was riding on his Extreme Gear after being separated from his group and had been attempting to find them and the Sol Emeralds for a few hours now. While known for his pride as the fastest creature in the world, one, he had no idea where he was, two, he had a feeling that Eggman Nega's machine somehow transported him, his two comrades and friends, and two allies and Cosmo to a strange new place, and three, he had no idea where the others were. But that didn't mean he couldn't go exploring and this highway rocked!
Plus, he did find a priceless glowing treasure lying on the ground in the park he woke up in that reminded him of the Sol Emeralds, but it was shaped differently and held unusual power similar to it, but hey, it was his now. Talk about a lucky find in this strange new place!
"It ain't Future City's streets, but this'll do!" Jet snickered in amusement and pure excitement, thinking back of the police that tried to chase him down but failed. "Heh, those weird-looking punks thought they could catch me. What a joke! There's nobody else who can catch up to me! Plus I got me a priceless stone that ain't no Sol Emerald, but it's close enough."
However, he stood corrected as he heard an unusual whooshing sound that didn't just come from him, but from something else...On foot? Confused and curious, the green hawk looked over his shoulder and saw something blue running straight towards him, and to his shock, in incredible high-speed that wasn't a race car or even a hoverboard.
"Huh!?" Jet squawked in surprise, just as the figure revealed itself to be a blue hedgehog who was quickly catching up to him with a mischevious smirk. Frowning, the green hawk, unaware that this was Sonic the Hedgehog, who was getting closer, boosted his Extreme Gear to go faster, much to Sonic's surprise, then the teenager grinned once again.
"A hover board, huh? Guess I gotta take it up a notch or two!" Sonic said to himself, before boosting himself and ran even faster.
"Ha! Lost him! That blue hedgehog thinks he's so fast!" The Babylon Rouge Leader laughed, doing a series of flips and turns, flying up high into the air and spun around along the highway and about to pass the bridge.
However, Sonic jumped and leaped from one road to another, grabbing hold of a pole and spun before throwing himself further ahead and landed before he ran again with his supersonic speed, immediately racing right next to this new competitor who's eyes widened in disbelief to see the teenage hero run along his right. The two caught sight of each other with Sonic's emerald green eyes and Jet's blue eyes.
"What!? You can run at supersonic speed!?" Jet exclaimed at the stranger, bewildered. How was it possible that this blue hedgehog can be really fast!?
"Yo, buddy! Nice hover board ya' got there! Gotta say, you're pretty impressive for a new guy in town and pretty speedy on that thing. But when it comes to speed, I'm a real tiger!" Sonic responded with a challenging but excited smirk. Finally, a real challenge that made his adrenaline rush but in a good way.
While Jet felt jealous and held a glare in his eyes, he felt a smirk form on his beak as this was the first time anybody's ever caught up with him which made him excited at this new challenger. Plus, unlike that weird guy with that ridiculous super fast car who claimed to be the fastest man on the planet with self-praise and an ego that was worse than his, this blue hedgehog.
"Hmph. You're not bad yourself." Jet remarked. "Being a runner without an Extreme Gear or a super car? What kind of vitamins do you take, hedgehog?"
Before Sonic could respond to that, Jet then flew up high and seemingly disappeared, causing the cobalt teenager to exclaimed. "Huh!? What the!?"
Quickly looking around and above him, he saw the green hawk laugh as he did amazing flips, prompting Sonic, who now frowned while gritting his teeth, Spin Jumped right up and landed right into the hover board, catching the thief off-guard and the two were now in a wrestling struggle which made the Extreme Gear wobble and fly out of control.
"Hey, off my Gear!" The Hawk grunted, getting into a shoving contest with his new rival.
"Sorry, but I got some questions I want answered, and I can't get any if you don't stop!" The blue hedgehog grunted back, while silently praying that he wouldn't fall. They were pretty high up and as they flew without any sort of direction, they eventually flew over the dead end and across the forest and trees below, heading towards the city.
"Ha! You think I'd answer any of your questions, after you so rudely jumped onto my board?" Jet questioned.
"Fair point, but you didn't stop for a nice chat, so I had to take drastic measures." Sonic replied, before he noticed something shiny and sticking out from the green rider's pockets. Almost instantly he saw a familiar diamond-shaped blue glow and felt the chaos energy radiating from it, before narrowing his eyes and reached into the pockets, struggling against his new rival who, realizing what he was doing, fought back.
The two fought until the blue hedgehog pulled out the gem, the blue Chaos Emerald, from Jet's pockets.
"Hey, that's mine!" The green hawk protested angrily.
"Where'd you get this?" Sonic demanded, holding a tight grip on the Emerald.
"None of your business, hedgehog! I found it, fair and square! Don't tell me you've never heard of the Babylon Rogues!" Jet smirked wickedly.
Judging how he found the Chaos Emerald and the name sounding like a criminal record, the blue hedgehog narrowed his eyes. "Then I guess you're a thief, then. Sorry, but I'm taking this Emerald!"
"Not a chance, blue boy!" Jet growled, reaching out and grasped at the Chaos Emerald, but Sonic held on tightly, the two grunting and pulling in a mid-air tug of war.
The two struggled as they continued their fight before they noticed too late that they were heading straight towards a power-line, and they gasped in horror, forcing them to duck but they lost control as the Extreme Gear fell forward, causing Sonic and Jet to lose their balance while the latter, much to his dismay, lost his grip on the Chaos Emerald and they fell screaming while the blue hedgehog held onto the gem tightly.
All the while Chris, who had been on his way home from school, heard something and looked up wondering what was going on. He gasped in shock when he saw his hedgehog best friend fall uncontrollably. The twelve year old human boy, knowing that the blue hedgehog needed help, ran as quickly as he could.
"Sonic!" Chris cried out, running to catch his friend.
Even though Sonic could've landed safely, he was dizzy from his wild ride and fight against Jet, and knew he was in for a hard landing. But when he heard a familiar voice call out his name, he looked and saw his human best friend and felt very relieved, calling out. "Hi, Chris!"
"I gotcha!" The young boy held out his arms and jumped, just in time as the hero of Mobius neared him and caught the blue hedgehog before the young Thorndyke turned and landed on the sidewalk with a rough slide until they both skid to a stop.
They both laid there with their eyes squeezed shut and winced at the hard landing, before they began to recover as Sonic and Chris began to sit up, the latter asking. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Thanks for saving me, and sorry to crash into ya'." The teenager replied as he turned half-way around, before getting off of his friend and held out his free hand to help him up. Sonic then pulled Chris up to his feet. "You alright?"
"Yeah. But, what happened?" The boy asked, confused.
"I was investigating the source of the weird light that came out of nowhere, then I tried finding this cat girl who apparently has some kind of fire power, or somethin'." Sonic answered.
"So you saw it too? The weird light, I mean. And, wait, a cat girl with fire magic?" Chris asked, bewildered.
The blue hedgehog nodded, and explained how he had been on Angel Island with Knuckles to get his Chaos Energy fixed up in a brief detail, then seeing the light made Sonic come to Station Square only to hear reports about a cat girl causing problems which made him decide to investigate believing there was a link between her and the light, only to fail and then his encounter against Jet, and having the Chaos Emerald which the cobalt teenager, realizing he still had it in his hand, held up to show off to him.
Before Chris could ask Sonic who was the thief, the two heard the whoosh sounds again which caused them to look up and the latter to spin around and they both gaped in shock to see Jet back on his Extreme Gear, his pride wounded and his board a bit damaged, but he'll live.
"You got lucky this time, hedgehog! But next time you won't be so lucky!" The green hawk declared angrily, before he flew off despite Sonic's protests to wait. By then, Jet was gone and he flew over to the city and into the sky, vanishing.
"Who was that guy?" Chris gaped, worriedly and shock.
"I dunno. Probably just a thief thinking he's faster than me, 'cept he hasn't heard of me before." Sonic replied, narrowing his eyes a little in suspicion. He then suggested. "I think we should tell your grandpa about this and then I'm gonna call Tails and see if we can figure out what's goin' on here."
Agreeing with this plan as the blue hedgehog had no other leads, the two close friends who had rekindled their bond and made it real in the last three weeks headed back to the twelve year old boy's home, hoping to find solutions to this ongoing mystery. As they did, Sonic once again couldn't help but feel like that something was wrong.
'First that weird light, then the mysterious cat girl, now a bird guy riding a hover board claiming he's the fastest? Is it really all connected?' He thought to himself, now becoming worried that what had happened in his and his human friend's Dream-link, the similar thing was happening in real life but in a different way.
He just hoped that there wasn't an evil villain on the loose that could be worse than Eggman.
Escaping from the people chasing after her, both people of her own kind and these strange creatures she kept on hearing were called 'humans' was starting to become more and more ridiculous. Blaze was getting frustrated for having to run like a criminal when she had zero idea on where she was in this unusual place, still no sign on her companions or even Eggman Nega. Let alone the Sol Emeralds.
No matter where she went, both kinds were interacting, but the lavender cat just felt that something strange was going on. Eventually the fiery princess found herself in a more quieter parts of the city with houses that looked comfortable living, but she had to keep her guard up. She didn't trust these people.
"There must be a way out of this place. But how can I do that? I wish I had the answers." Blaze muttered to herself, attempting to keep as low profile as possible. She cursed at her enemy for causing all of this; the kidnapping of her friend Cosmo, stealing the Sol Emeralds, and the transportation leaving her stranded on a new planet far from her own.
But she just couldn't shake off this feeling of why her kind and humans were living together. Was this some kind of trickery? Or...was she instead accidentally transported into the future? She was gravely worried about Cosmo, and Tangle. While Blaze was concerned for the welfare of the Babylon Rogues as well, she had a feeling that they were just fine. Then again, they were all caught into her struggles against Dr. Eggman Nega, and while she had promised to help Cosmo who had lost everything, her home, her family and her friends.
Then another thought came into her mind as her eyes widened in shock and no small amount of horror. What if...what if Blaze has suffered the same fate as Cosmo, only by her own failure as guardian of the Sol Emeralds? What if her world was gone too and she was the only survivor? That very thought made her heart ache in guilt and sorrow. If that was the case, then this place was the closest thing she can fit in now. Her friends, the Sol Emeralds, her kingdom...her planet. All gone...
'Tangle, Cosmo, Jet, Wave, Storm...I am deeply sorry. None of you should have gone with me. I knew I should have done things on my own, for your safety. Now you have...you have all paid for my failure and actions.' Blaze thought to herself, tears forming in her eyes, rubbing her arms for a few moments before her guilt and sorrow slowly turned into fury, lowering her hands and clenched them with smoke starting to form due to her pyrokinesis.
"Nega...if you are still out there alive, you will pay for this...You will pay!" Blaze hissed darkly, glaring up at the sky furiously. "Do you hear me!? If you're not dead yet, I will kill you!"
"HEY!" A man's voice shouted from the distance, alarming the Princess who spun around and saw a man storming out of the house close by. "Did I hear someone about to kill somebody!? If so, then I'm calling the police!"
'Drat!' The lavender cat cursed in her mind, and quickly ran as fast as she could to avoid in being seen. The human looked all around trying to find the source of the voice.
Yet the man failed to find her as Blaze, in desperation and determination to avoid in getting caught, gazed up at the only hiding place she could think of which made her sweat drop nervously and gulped; A tree. Yet she knew as more people could easily figure her out, the fire princess had no choice. Steeling herself for a nightmare, she leaped up and landed clumsily on a branch, and held onto the trunk for dear life while keeping herself silent, but she couldn't stop shaking and quivering.
'Just remain calm, Blaze. Everything is going to be alright...It's not that high, it's not that high, it's not that high...' Blaze tried to keep calm, as well as silent to avoid in getting caught while unaware that someone had briefly seen her leap up from the window of a house close by.
After about agonizing five minutes which felt like hours, the man decided to give up the search thinking that he was imagining things and stormed off, unaware of how far the Princess was. Gazing at where she came from and saw the person not chasing her, she would've sighed in relief if she didn't have another problem; her fear of heights. Even worse, from where she was it was still way too high!
"It's that high! It's that high!" She couldn't help but squeak in fear, now going into a full on panic attack, clinging onto the tree for dear life and squeezing her eyes shut. Why did she had to have the terrible fear of heights? So terrified and paralyzed in fear that Blaze squeezed her eyes shut, unable to move or do anything, silently praying for someone to help her get down. She was so scared that she could pass out, but that only increased her fear as she knew that if she fell unconscious now, she would fall no doubt.
In fact, the fiery cat didn't even notice that someone was gently scooping her into a pair of smooth and small arms until she was gently being carried down, and a young girl's voice spoke to her softly and kindly. "Don't be scared, it'll be alright."
Confused as she realized what was happening, Blaze hesitantly opened her eyes and found that, to her shock, she was being somewhat awkwardly carried by a young human girl with blonde hair, blue eyes and a pink dress with white sleeves and matching shoes. It was Helen, another friend that Sonic and Chris both dreamt up and the latter knew that, unlike in the dream world, the real Helen had some special medication to enable her to walk and climb but still had to use her wheelchair until the day comes when she wouldn't be needing to rely on it anymore. The young twelve year old girl, who had noticed the lavender cat, went out and saw that the latter had a fear of heights and had brought out a ladder to help her get back to the ground.
"There you go, miss kitty. You're safe now." Helen assured, gently setting the stunned Blaze down even though the blonde-haired girl felt a painful twinge in her legs that she had to wobbly grasp onto the ladder for support. But she ignored it as she asked, realizing that the cat was a Mobian. "Are you okay?"
"Um...Y-yes, I am. Thank you, young lady." Blaze replied awkwardly, surprised that this young human had helped her and didn't seem to be hostile unlike the other humans she met. Then again, she had no idea what they could do, so she had to be careful.
"How did you get up onto that tree?" The twelve year old girl asked.
"I climbed." The lavender cat replied, before responding back. "You seem to be calm that I can talk."
"Of course, how can I not? Not after what happened three weeks ago, everybody's been getting to know each other since our continents rose up back to the surface. But I guess not everybody knew that, right?" Helen replied, smiling softly.
"It seems there are so many things I don't know of." Blaze remarked. It didn't take her long to figure out that the human continents rose up and began living with her kind. Did she really travel into the future without knowing what kind of past occured many years ago?
"That's okay. Nobody knows everything." Helen giggled, before introducing herself. "I'm Helen. What's your name?"
Blaze was even further surprised how this young girl was very kind and gentle and seemed to be happy enough. She was reminded of Cosmo and Tangle all mixed together and smiled a little, before answering. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Helen. My name is Blaze the Cat."
While Blaze still had no idea what was going on, she felt that she can trust Helen who had saved her. Suddenly she gasped in alarm as Helen groaned painfully, before the latter wobbly and painfully tried to reach for her wheelchair.
"Helen! What's wrong?" Blaze cried out in alarm.
"I-It's my l-legs...!" Helen whimpered, slowly approaching with a strain, only to quickly feel her legs buckle underneath her and cried out, causing the lavender cat to hurry over and caught her before she fell.
"Here, let me help you." The Princess offered, helping her new acquaintance slowly walk over to her wheelchair close and have her sit in it, and helped lift her feet onto the pads.
"Thank you..." The eleven year old girl sighed, groaning and panted. "Sorry. It's just, I'm still trying to get used into getting feeling into my legs again and finally being able to live life like a normal person."
Blaze frowned in concern. "Does this happen often?"
Helen nodded. "I've only started to finally learn how to walk and climb about two months ago, but it's been slow going and I still have to rely on this wheelchair. I was born with a disease that prevented me from walking, so my parents had to work hard. It's a long story, but I'm finally beginning to recover."
"I see...My deepest apologies for having you come and save me, and for my fear of heights." The cat Princess, now feeling guilty, bowed her head. If she had known, she wouldn't have had Helen go through all of that trouble just as she was beginning to live a life from which as far as she could tell, had it rough for not being able to walk until now. Even then, it was still a challenge to get full strength and feeling into her legs.
"It's okay, a lot of people are afraid of heights. Nothing to be ashamed of, and really, it's good practice for me. I just have to remember not to over do it." The young girl reassured, adding gently. "Please don't feel bad, Blaze. It wasn't your fault."
Even though Blaze couldn't help but still feel bad, she began to sense that Helen wasn't the type to hold a grudge and it had taken great courage and compassion to help her even through her own tough time such as her near-inability to walk. Despite that she had potentially lost her friends and allies, maybe, if she was careful enough, she could try and move on if she failed to find them and the Sol Emeralds and whether or not she would return home. Plus, Helen is a nice young girl, for a human.
Maybe not all humans were so bad after all.
"Run, Cosmo!"
Run was all she could do. The young alien girl was running through the darkness, panting in fear as she was fleeing from horrible forces. All around her was pitch black, but she could hear the sounds of explosions, screams and yells that frightened her to the core. Evil laughter filled the air as well, and then suddenly around her changed to finding herself trapped inside the capsule.
Gasping in fear as she placed her hands onto the glass of her prison, she soon saw the menacing looming silhouette of Dr. Eggman Nega who's eyes glowed red through his shades and he bellowed an evil laughter and Cosmo could only watch helplessly, unable to even scream...
Gasping in fear as she finally woken up from her unconsciousness, Cosmo sat up straight and panted in fear, slightly disoriented and her head a bit foggy.
"Are you okay?" An unfamiliar young boy's voice asked, worriedly right next to her.
Blinking in surprise and startled, Cosmo looked to her right and found an unfamiliar young fox cub who looked roughly about the same age as her, orange-yellow in colouring except for his muzzle and chest, wearing white gloves with red and white shoes, beautiful cerulean blue eyes and, surprisingly enough, he had two tails! It was Miles "Tails" Prower, who along with Vanilla and Cream and Cheese, stood there in concern. It wasn't until she realized that she had been lying in a cosy bed in an unfamiliar bedroom before her memories came back to her.
"It's alright, dear. Don't be scared. We won't hurt you." Vanilla kindly told her.
"We were so worried you wouldn't wake up." Cream added, as she, her mother and friends were utterly relieved that the alien girl was alright.
Even as these people didn't seem to be that bad, Cosmo had no idea where her friends were, and she tried not to gasp as she remembered what happened; She had been kidnapped, the Sol Emeralds had been stolen, both by Nega, Blaze, Tangle and the Babylon Rogues tried to rescue her and get the Emeralds back, but something went wrong, due to both Orbot and Cubot, then that flash of light which swallowed up everyone and then...that's all she remembered.
"W-where am I?" Cosmo asked, uneasily.
"It's okay. You're in my room of my house." Tails answered kindly. "You sure got hurt when I found you. We treated you as best as we could."
"I...see." The young alien girl replied, still not certain but as she gazed at the fox, she couldn't help but feel some kind of connection with him, and as the two-tailed kit gazed at her back, he unknowingly felt the same.
"My name is Miles Prower, but my friends call me by my nickname Tails." The eight year old cub introduced himself.
"My name is Vanilla. Pleased to meet you, dear." Vanilla added.
"My name's Cream, and this is my Chao friend Cheese." Cream added, with Cheese chirping cutely in greeting. "What's your name?"
At first the young girl covered her mouth with a soft gasp, but then realized that she didn't have her friends with her and, not knowing what to do or how to fix things despite the fear that Dr. Nega could be out there looking for her and/or the Sol Emeralds, she hesitantly responded.
"My name...is Cosmo. I...I hail from another world, and it is a very long story." The green-haired alien girl replied, which surprised the Mobians even though Tails had suspected that she was an alien and he had been even more shocked that his theory could be proved true. She then asked. "Excuse me, but, have any of you seen others? A cat girl, a lemur, a hawk, a swallow or an albatross?"
Tails, Vanilla, Cream and Cheese blinked before sharing a glance and then sadly turned back to their guest before shaking their heads, with the two-tailed fox apologetically answering. "Sorry, we haven't."
"We're really sorry, Miss Cosmo." Cream added.
"Chao..." Cheese murmured.
"Oh..." Cosmo sighed, lowering her gaze in sadness in hopelessness. "Then...it's happened again, and it's all my fault..."
"Whaddya mean, 'again'? Did something awful happen?" Tails asked, now really concerned.
"It's a very long story." Cosmo shook her head, tears beginning to linger in her eyes. Her eyes then widened at another thought that came into her mind. "What about another person, who looks terrifying and evil? Even a glimpse of him?"
"Well, what does he look like?"
"He...is very round with black, red and purple clothing, a white mustache and black glasses. He goes by the name of Dr. Eggman Nega."
"WHAAAAAAT!?" The young fox exclaimed in shock, disbelief, confusion and horror, while Cream, her mother and Cheese all gasped in horror and fear. "There's another Eggman!?"
"Another? Wait, you don't mean...!" Now the young alien girl gasped as she paled even more so than she already was.
Tails nodded grimly. "We do have a Dr. Eggman, except his clothes are red and black, and he has a...uh, ginger-coloured mustache with purple glasses, but he's definitely evil. My best friend Sonic the Hedgehog fights him all the time with the help of us sometimes."
While Cosmo was horrified to hear that there were not one but two of Eggman, both in the world she had come to call home after being transported from her dimension to Blaze's and now feared that this world's Eggman could find her, the young alien girl then heard what else Tails had said. Sonic the Hedgehog, who fights Eggman a lot, both on his own and with his friends.
Just like Blaze does with Tangle and sometimes the Babylon Rogues.
"Oh, I hope your world's version of Dr. Eggman doesn't find me. Dr. Nega is horrible enough. His mind is in a very, very dark place." Cosmo shuddered, her heart sinking into her stomach.
"It's okay. Sonic wouldn't let anything like that happen and neither will I or the rest of our friends." Tails promised, surprising the young alien girl. "We'll figure something out. You can trust us."
Just then, his latest communicator watch, which he built two weeks ago and made several others for everybody else, rang to life, and the young fox quickly excused himself before answering. "Tails here."
"Hey, buddy! You busy?" Sonic replied as he called from the Thorndyke Manor.
"Sonic! How are you?" The two-tailed fox greeted back.
"I'm okay, but hey, like I said, you busy?"
"Well...sort of. I've got a real mystery here which includes finding a girl that fell from the sky earlier after I saw a strange light with different coloured rainbow streaks too." Tails answered.
"Looks like everybody saw it, 'cause I was on Angel Island with Knuckles and Tikal after fixing up my Chaos Energy problem." The blue hedgehog replied, then blinked in surprise when he realized what else his little brother said and asked. "Hold on, a girl fell from the sky? What she look like?"
"Well...Uh..." The young cub trailed off, gazing up at Cosmo who looked confused as he tried not to offend her while sending her an apologetic glance before answering. "Let's just say, I think your dream you and Chris had may have come true, only in reverse."
That made Sonic pause, as back at Chris' house, he sitting on a chair with the pillow behind him and his legs prompted onto the coffee table with Chris and Chuck, who had been told what has happened earlier, sitting on the couch near him, while he thought about what his best friend had mentioned. Deep on thought, the situation was getting more and more strange.
"Huh. Looks like I was right." He whispered to himself, before responding. "Sure, no problem. Me and Chris will meet you there, and I'll see if I can bring Knucklehead over since he should know about this too."
If that was the case, then the cat girl must've been from another dimension and that would mean it was connected. Could she be the girl Tails was talking about? If so, then Sonic, as much as he hated to do so, would have to scold his adoptive sibling later for hiding someone who had accidentally caused trouble. Then he would tell him about his little ordeal with the hawk, but at least they got a Chaos Emerald. Though this would mean his scan to make sure his Chaos Energy was stabilized would have to wait, but the blue hedgehog can live with that.
'Just hope there isn't a guy like Eggman from another dimension.' Sonic thought to himself.
"Great! Mrs. Vanilla, Cream and Cheese are with me. We'll see you soon!" Tails responded, and his older brother decided to worry about asking him if the girl he found was the right one or not.
"Cool. See you soon, bro." The blue hedgehog winked as the two then hung up before he stood, smirking at the two humans. "Hey, Chris. Wanna come with?"
"Sure! I wanna help out with what's going on here too." Chris stood up excitedly, knowing that he can finally got on another adventure, this time in real life as the one when they first met for real and reunited spiritually didn't actually count despite that he had saved Sonic from Eggman's Missile-Wrist robot.
"Just be careful out there, you two. Who knows if whether or not Eggman will launch another surprise attack." Chuck cautioned the two young boys. Sure he had quickly gotten on so well with Sonic and all of the others and was good friends with Tails since three weeks ago, but he was still concerned over the evil doctor's threats. "If Eggman figures out about the mysterious light, it will mean more trouble."
Both Sonic and Chris softly gasped, the latter lowering his head a little. 'He's right. If Eggman does figure it out and if there is another bad guy, oh man, that's even worse.'
Still, if that were the case, then it would only be a matter of time before Eggman strikes again, this time either with a new potential dangerous ally, or maybe the enemy will give the fat buffoon some serious and evil competition. One that the teenage hero was determined to put a stop to. One way or another, Sonic had to make sure he wouldn't be losing his friends or home. After all, Mobius was once named Earth, and humans and Mobians had co-existed before. There was no way he was going to let that renewed harmony become broken again.
"Don't you worry about a thing, Chuck. With me and the others around, that clown won't stand a ghost of a chance." Sonic reassured after forcing himself to calm down and smirked with a thumbs up.
"Uh, Sonic?" Chris suddenly spoke up, sounding rather worried which made his hedgehog best friend glance up at him. "I think you should see this." He picked up the remote to turn up the volume to get the teenager's and the elder man's attention.
On screen, the news was on with Scarlet Garcia reporting and image cards appeared. Sonic watched intrigued and shocked when he saw video footage of the mysterious light appear before more showed up revealing footage of what people could get a glimpse of. There he saw was the one he heard of and had tried to find.
It was the cat girl, with lavender fur colour and amber yellow eyes, wearing a purple rich shirt with long sleeves with fluffy white cuffs, white leggings and shoes, white gloves, and having some kind of ruby on her forehead. She looked beautiful, but serious and stern to boot. So much so that she glared at authorities of human and Mobian kind. The blue hedgehog and the two humans gaped in disbelief at her rather fearsome glare and power.
"Reports say that the mysterious Mobian cat has magical powers over fire. So far, nobody's been hurt, but the authorities are urging people to be very cautious since not even other Mobians have seen her before, and also to stay away since she could be dangerous." Scarlet was saying. "There's an arrest warrant for this girl as she refused to cooperate with the police. Also in Breaking News, there's been sightings of a fast-moving bird riding on some kind of flying board which has the S-Team scrambling to find him."
The next footage showed, to Sonic's shock as he gasped and his eyes widened in disbelief, it was Jet the Hawk, the same guy he encountered earlier. He could only gaze at the TV screen even as Sam Speed ranted on how a bird could be faster by simply flying which made the fifteen year old, Chris and Chuck sweat drop.
"Oh, brother." Chris groaned, turning away from the screen as he slumped in embarrassment. "Now Uncle Sam's got another way of trying to prove he's the fastest person on the planet."
"He's gonna so jealous when he finds out I raced him too earlier and even managed to catch him for about ten minutes." Sonic couldn't help but tease, trying to lighten the mood even though he was starting to get worried. He began to fear that if this keeps up, then the worked on harmony betweens humans and Mobians for the last few weeks could be put into jeopardy.
Unfortunately, Chuck voiced the cobalt speedster's concerns. "This isn't the time for joking, you two. If this keeps up, then no doubt it will cause serious tensions between humans and Mobians and I fear it would mean we're in deep trouble."
"Then I'd better find these two quick and talk sense into them. If I'm right, then maybe the same thing that happened in the dream could be happening now, but to those guys." Sonic declared as he slapped his fist into his palm, feeling his heart drop into his stomach and knew that the elder Thorndyke was right. "First, I'm gonna check up on Tails to see if he has some sort of ideas."
"Do you think Tails might know about this?" Chris asked, thinking along the same lines.
"Only one way to find out. I'm not gonna let the same thing that happened in our dream happen in real life, or even let all our hard work go to waste. But I'm gonna need help. This isn't something I can do alone." The blue hedgehog responded.
The twelve year old boy nodded and bend on one knee, saying. "I want to help, Sonic. There's no way I'm missing on this, not after what we've been through, both in our dreams and when we finally met for real."
He paused, lowering his gaze a little as his heart ached over the idea of being forced to separate due to a possible misunderstanding. The more he thought about it, the more he feared that it was a reality waiting to happen. He looked up at the cobalt hero who had been his best friend in the dream, who helped him mature, to be more brave and determined, being the friend he had always wanted ever since he was a lot younger. Chris still remembered painfully of how the dream had come such a bittersweet end, how the merging of the two worlds would cause time to stop, how Sonic, his friends and Eggman had to go back, how the twelve year old didn't want to say goodbye forever, how he didn't want the blue hedgehog to leave, how he didn't want to let him go, how he just couldn't let Sonic go, how he wouldn't let him go and how he...how he wanted to prevent the hero from returning to his home world.
Chris had wanted his best friend to stay with him and was fully determined to keep Sonic forever, out of loneliness and selfishness, the desire to keep him on Earth, to ensure that the fifteen year old would never leave so that they can still be friends and taking away his freedom without thinking about it until they went to the old family vacation home, that the young boy came to realize how cruel he had been. Even then, Sonic had been patient, caring and understanding, even offering to sacrifice his freedom to stay on Earth for the rest of his life, because as much as he would miss his home world and his friends he grew up with, he could run anywhere to be happy. That made Chris come to accepting that he couldn't let his desires ruin or destroy time, and had been reassured that they would see each other again.
And even as the dream ended and both Chris, and Sonic for that matter, had been heart-broken, believing that all of their adventures and each other were not real, until the continents rose up and the latter came here to investigate after Tikal told him the real history, which lead to their emotional reunion and real meeting. Now that both worlds were in fact the same one, they didn't have to worry about splitting up because of worlds fusing or time stopping. Yet this new situation now could still tear them apart. He didn't want that. Not ever.
"I...I don't wanna lose you again, Sonic." Chris confessed, his voice breaking and tears threatening to spill as they stung his eyes. "Not when we finally got be friends for real and be together again."
"Oh, Chris...C'mere." Sonic, feeling his heart ache as well and swallowing a lump in his throat, pulled his friend into an embrace as the two friends hugged eachother tightly and longingly. He felt tears begin to form in his eyes but willed them back as much as possible. "I don't wanna lose you either, buddy. I'm not gonna let that happen. We'll figure it out, I promise."
"I...I'm sorry. I...I probably sound selfish again, but I-"
"Shhh...It's okay. Everything's gonna be alright." The blue hedgehog gently cut him off to give him as much comfort as he could offer. He vowed to not let the harmony between humans and Mobians get cut short, especially not by evil villains or by a misunderstanding.
He could only hope that it wasn't too late.
Back at Tails' workshop, the two-tailed fox reassured the girls that Sonic and Chris were coming so that they can try and solve the mystery of the mysterious light, what had happened and where did Cosmo come from.
"Do you think Sonic might be able to help?" Cosmo asked, sounding really concerned.
"Don't worry. If there's one thing I know about Sonic, is that he always keeps his promises and not once has he ever broken any." Tails reassured, smiling kindly.
That, and maybe if he was right, then there could be a way to help Cosmo like how in Sonic and Chris' Dream-link that the human boy helped him and the others within the dream.
"He sounds very caring and courageous." The young alien girl softly remarked.
"Sure is! He's the hero of Mobius, which is what we call our planet."
"In the meantime, perhaps I can make us something for lunch in time for Sonic and Chris to have some." Vanilla suggested.
"I can help you, Mama, and maybe we can invite Amy too." Cream sweetly offered. She loved helping her mother out in the kitchen, especially when it comes to baking.
"All right, dear." Her mother giggled, smiling warmly as she was blessed with such a wonderful child and even more so when the young rabbit girl made friends who had somewhat adopted her as the youngest sibling and would do anything to keep her safe and rescue her if she was in danger. As the two excused themselves and left with Cheese, that left Tails and Cosmo on their own for the time being.
Feeling a little awkward at first on what they should say, Tails began. "Cosmo, I don't want to bother you or anything, but, about Dr. Eggman Nega...How bad is he?"
"He's very dangerous and incredibly evil. As I said, his mind is in a place so dark that not even his world's light would bring him out of it." Cosmo hesitantly replied, before asking. "What of Dr. Eggman in your world?"
"Well, he's really straight forward on conquering the entire planet to build his Eggman Empire and he hates us a lot since we beat him all the time. That guy just doesn't know when to quit." The two-tailed fox shrugged. "But we can handle him."
'This world's Dr. Eggman wants to take over the planet? I...Have a terrible feeling about this.' The young alien girl thought to herself even though Tails and his friends, including the mention of Sonic the Hedgehog, they reminded her so much of her friends...
Friends that she may have lost forever, yet unaware that they were all still alive.
"Whoa! That's what happened?" Tangle asked as she and her new friend Amy had reached the Green Hill Continent from Station Square after taking a taxi and boat which was established for Mobians and Humans a week and a half ago, which was still in a work of progress, but so far it was running smoothly.
The pink hedgehog girl had been telling her bits and pieces of how this world worked out, that Sonic, while not royalty and his greatest strength is his speed, to run super fast, was a great hero and fought against a, in her opinion, a more goofier version of Dr. Eggman Nega, without the Nega part, who was more into taking over the world rather than destroy it out of a sick desire to see everything end, and that just three weeks ago the human continents rose up from underground and the ocean after thousands of years, how Sonic went out to investigate and everything that's happened since.
Though Amy did leave out parts such as how Sonic had been so upset at first when he found out his whole adventure on Earth had been nothing more than an expanded dream caused by the Chaos Emeralds, plus dealing with the Chaos Energy crisis, to which, unbeknownst to the lemur, she hoped that he had sorted out that with Knuckles and Tikal. For days now the pink hedgehog had been so worried about her 'boyfriend'.
"Yup! It was pretty crazy, but ever since Sonic met with the humans, and became friends with Chris and told the President what happened, everybody all over the world have been working on getting to know each other. It's still taking a little while, but already it's going great." Amy replied. "Not to mention that our Eggman's really dumb sometimes."
"He sure sounds dumb." The young lemur giggled, before thinking to herself. 'I guess Eggman of this world is kinda less of a sicko and more of a emperor-wanne-be, really smart just like Nega, but also a clown from the sounds of it. Guess I still got a lot to learn while I'm stuck here.'
"I still can't believe though that there's another Eggman out there that's more crazy and insane than ours is." Amy continued, walking backwards now while having her hands clasped behind her back, now starting to get worried and a little afraid. "Why does he even want to destroy everything anyway?"
Tangle shrugged cluelessly. "Beats me. That guy thinks life isn't even worth it. Or something like that. He just can't get a life."
Amy thought deeply about this before she gazed skyward while muttering. "I just hope Eggman doesn't go that crazy. He's dangerous enough as it is."
The two girls were nearing Amy's house to rest and talk about when to speak to Tails about this when all of the sudden Sonic appeared in a flash of blue with Chris holding onto him on their way to the two-tailed fox's workshop in the Mystic Ruins when they saw the blue hedgehog's self-proclaimed girlfriend and an unfamiliar Lemur girl and skid to a stop for a quick chat.
"Hi, Amy!" Sonic greeted, making sure that the human boy who had his arms around his shoulders didn't have a rough landing or was accidentally thrown off, making the two young girls stop themselves and gazed at him in surprise, but none more so than Tangle. "How's it goin'?"
"Hi there, Amy." Chris greeted as well, as he stood up, slightly recovering from his fun ride.
"Sonic! We were just talking about you!" Amy squealed happily, her eyes sparkling in excitement that her boyfriend was here, and memories of her sea-shell bracelet which rested in her dress pockets emerging. She then noticed the young human boy and also greeted him. "And how are you, Chris?"
"Whoa! This is Sonic? He's really fast." Tangle's eyes widened in shock. When Amy said that Sonic was super fast, she wasn't kidding!
"Guess I'm not surprised. So, who's your new friend here?" The blue hedgehog chuckled, while turning his gaze to the Lemur.
"Oh, this is Tangle. We met at the beach at the Emerald Coast, and it's kind of a long story." The pink hedgehog introduced the trio to each other. "Tangle, this is Sonic the Hedgehog, who's my boyfriend, and this is our new friend Chris Thorndyke."
"Nice to meet you, Tangle." Chris greeted as he and Sonic shook hands with the Lemur girl who beamed an enthusiastic smile...Or rather, to their confusion, shaking hands with her stretchy tail.
"It's so cool to meet you guys, too! Amy's been telling me a lot about you!" Tangle replied.
"Pleasure to meetcha." The cobalt teenager smiled.
"Sonic, where are you and Chris going?" Amy asked, curiously.
Sonic paused, before sharing a glance with his human friend who was silent, before they turned back to the pink hedgehog and the blue hedgehog answered. "We're on our way to meet with Tails to know a little more about the weird light show we saw earlier, and he asked me to meet up with him, 'cause he found a mysterious girl that appeared out of nowhere, and to make things more strange, apparently there's a cat girl on the loose in town having fire powers or, so witnesses told me."
While Amy was confused and surprised by this, Tangle on the other hand gasped in shock, hope and growing relief yet worry as she almost instantly knew who the blue hedgehog was talking about. "Wait! Are you saying that Blaze is actually here!?"
That caught the three friends off-guard as Amy asked. "Who's Blaze?"
"Wait a sec! You mean you know her?" Sonic added urgently. Who would've thought that he'd find someone who knew about the cat girl's existence? Let alone one of his friends meeting them.
"Blaze the Cat, she's one of my best friends who has the power of, uh...pyrokinesis or something? It's basically fire powers she was born with." Tangle shrugged, though she was shocked that Sonic had been looking for her.
"Uh oh..." The blue hedgehog sweat dropped nervously, now starting to think that maybe his theory really is right. Well, at least he and Chris can be reassured that this Blaze person isn't much of a threat. She must be just confused and worried, wondering where her friends are. "Guess I gotta find her fast and tell everybody in Station Square that she didn't mean any harm. Right?"
"Maybe Tails would really know about this. Sonic, I think your dream has come true, only in reverse." His self-proclaimed girlfriend began in concern, confusing him and Chris at first, before she continued in a whisper. "Tangle and her friend Blaze come from another dimension. Something awful happened and it's transported them here to our world."
"Oh, no way...!" Sonic whispered, bewildered. So he was right after all. Only it's happened to Tangle and her friend Blaze and who knows how many others.
"Do you think Blaze could be with Tails by now?" Chris asked, worriedly.
"Only one way to find out. C'mon, let's all get goin'! If the situations as is what I think it is, then I have a feeling we're in for something majorly big." The blue hedgehog declared, determined to get to the bottom of this.
His friends and Tangle, who was worried about Blaze and hopeful that maybe, just maybe, that Cosmo and the Babylon Rogues were here as well, all nodded in agreemeent with Amy and her new friend deciding to post-pone in heading over to the former's house and instead followed Sonic and Chris to meet up with Tails.
Meanwhile, back at Eggman's base, the two Eggmen and their robotic minons were walking around the place as Eggman was giving his alternate self a grand tour of his creation.
"As you can see, a brilliant mastermind such as myself would only construct a beautiful base that is fool-proof against many enemies that not even a puny little army would be able to break into. It is just the beginning of my world conquest to conquer the planet and establish the Eggman Empire." Eggman was explaining to Nega, Orbot and Cubot, the white-mustached man walking alongside his counterpart while the two robots were behind them with Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun.
"Fascinating, Dr. Eggman." Nega marveled, gazing around as the base, similar to his, was admittedly to his taste. "I am very impressed indeed. It must have taken quite amount of work for a man such as yourself to build these lovely machines to construct your home."
"Why, thank you, Dr. Nega. I take pride in all of my creations." The evil scientist grinned, before grunting in irritation. "Of course, I would've built my Empire by now if it wasn't for that annoying little blue pincushion Sonic...!"
Nega sighed, thinking about his own enemy Blaze as well. "Unfortunately, I have the exact same problem, but with that meddling royal pain in the neck Blaze..."
"Sonic was bad enough with his speed and spin attacks, but I'm already scared of what this Blaze the Cat person can do." Decoe whispered to his fellow robots who also held worried looks as well.
"For me, it's the opposite as I don't know what Sonic is capable of." Orbot muttered worriedly.
"Do ya' reckon' Sonic's sharp quills are gonna slice us into pieces like a chainsaw?" Cubot asked, gulping as he was really scared.
"A chainsaw is an understatement. I'm more worried about Princess Blaze melting us with her pryokinesis." Bocoe shrugged, just as scared.
The yellow-cubed robot gasped, before holding hands with the grey robot who yelped. "That's what I was scared of, partner! Blaze's fire could melt us into a puddle of mud!"
"I believe the term goo would be a correct way to say it, Cubot. Because robots can't turn into mud!" Orbot corrected in sheer annoyance.
"This is going to be nightmare fuel..." Decoe woed.
"Woe is us, we are so doomed." His companion groaned.
"I don't wanna turn into goo by this Blaze Cat person!" Bokkun shook his hands in fear as he held them up, terrified over the thought. "I'm too young to be melted!"
"WILL YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP, YOU WORTHLESS METALHEADS!?" Both Eggman bellowed angrily as they stopped and glared at their idiotic creations who reared back in fright.
Once all five robots remained silent, Eggman and Nega both groaned, the former grumbling. "Next time I build robotic minions, I should make them more obedient and less free-willed."
"It takes a calm mind to build creations, but even I had trouble when I built Cubot. Why he isn't intelligent at all, I cannot for the life of my existence figure it out." Nega sighed, more calmer than his current ally.
'Somehow, I doubt even a calm mind like you could even built something more intelligent.' Eggman thought dryly to himself, but said nothing. He didn't want to provoke his counterpart as he still had yet to learn the man's true goals.
A little while later, the two evil doctors and their robots approached another large room that was actually another construction site, with Eggman pushing a button on the side of a giant door, grinning as he announced. "Behold my latest project."
As the huge doors slid open, it revealed a giant robot that was about 80 feet tall, which, unbeknownst to all of them, was what Sonic saw in his dream three weeks ago. The E-18 Guarra Hard. It was still being worked on by other machines and robots that were nearing it's completion. Nega's expression was that of stunned awe, while Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, not having seen it before themselves until now, gaped in shock at the massive size of it, and Orbot squeaked while Cubot almost screamed.
"WOWZA! Now that's a humongous robot!" Cubot exclaimed with a sweat drop.
"It is one of my perfect creations. It's not finished, but give it another month or less, E-18 Guarra Hard will be super powered by a power source that will put Sonic in his place. It contains a compartment which will hold two Chaos Emeralds which will make it unbeatable, and crush that hedgehog and anyone who dares to challenge it. It is, shall we say, my failsafe and back-up plan should my other ideas fail." Eggman explained proudly, hands behind his back.
"Astonding...This machine is incredible." Nega breathed in awe, taking a couple steps closer. "A robot with this kind of flexability and holding the power of two Chaos Emeralds...It is a marvelous art of beauty. It is absolutely brilliant!"
"Indeed, although I still have to reclaim the Chaos Emeralds, but once I get them, it will be much better than my previous plans." The red-suited scientist responded.
'I should try to make a creation with a similar material, but with the use of both the Sol Emeralds as well as the Chaos Emeralds. Only it will be much more of a powerful deadly weapon then this robot, and much better named as well.' The alternate evil scientist thought darkly, already secretly coming up with ideas of his own without copying his counterpart.
"But first, let's get ourselves settled and come up with a new latest plot in our search for both sets of Emeralds as well as keep Sonic and Blaze from discovering one another." Eggman continued, grinning as he cackled.
"I can do one better. To make our enemies confused, here is a simple solution." Nega smirked, pulling out a small device from his pocket and gave it to his now confused double. "This device allows me to disguise myself whomever I choose to me to trick Blaze and her friends. While she has seen through my disguise, I doubt your enemy Sonic will fall for the same trick, especially since you and are, shall we say, near identical twins."
Eggman stared at the small device incredulously and suspiciously. While he had to admit this device did sound amazing, he was still skeptical and asked. "I admit that this is an amazing device, but what am I supposed to do with it?"
Nega grinned the same way Eggman would, pulling out an identical device and explained. "Simple, my friend. You will disguise yourself as me when you confront Blaze and find the Sol Emeralds, while I disguise myself as you to confront Sonic and locate these Chaos Emeralds. With both robots of our own creations neither one will be able to defeat, they will be confused and believe we have become much more stronger and better in our designs."
"What!? Are you crazy!?" Eggman exclaimed, shocked as were Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, and even Orbot and Cubot couldn't believe what they were hearing. "But I don't know anything about Blaze's abilities besides her pryokinesis, let alone her weakness!"
"Her weakness is an easy one. She has a terrible case of Acrophobia, as she freezes up whenever she is up high and has to rely on her friends to help her through it." Nega told him, grinning darkly. "So tell me, what is or are the boy's weakness?"
"Well, uh...For one thing, he's the only hedgehog in the universe who can't swim, so his weakness is water. He can't save his friends if he has to trend H20." Eggman admitted, then began to realize where his counterpart was coming from. "Maybe this will get our enemies out of our mustaches if we do swap places for a little while. Is that what you're saying?"
Nega smirked evilly, and nodded. "Exactly."
While Eggman was still wiry over this, it did make things more interesting as while he had no clue how to fight Blaze the Cat while Nega didn't know much of fighting Sonic the Hedgehog, both of the teenagers wouldn't even know they would be fighting each others' enemies either through a simple but very clever disguise, all the while collecting both sets of Emeralds.
Things have gotten quite interesting.
By the time Sonic, Amy, Chris and Tangle arrived at Tails' workshop, it was well past noon and the set was starting to set and the four friends stood at the front door before the blue hedgehog knocked a couple times. The quartet didn't have to wait long as the door opened, but to their surprise, instead of the two-tailed fox answering, it was a familiar sweet little six year old rabbit girl along with her adorable Chao with the little red bow, before remembering that they and Vanilla were here as well.
"Hello Sonic! Hello Amy! Hello Chris! Oh, and hello miss. Tails, Mama and our new friend are waiting for you." Cream greeted.
"Hiya, Cream. Sorry that we took so long." Sonic greeted back with a wave and Amy and Chris gave our their own greetings as well, while Tangle fawned over how cute and polite both Cream and Cheese were.
"Would you like to come in?" The little girl asked, and the group nodded.
"Cream, may our new friend come in too? See, she needs our help and it's really important." Amy requested.
"Of course!" Cream nodded, allowing the group to enter and closed the door behind them. "Tails, Mama! Sonic and Chris are here, and Amy and a new friend are here too." She called out.
"We're in the living room, Cream!" Tails' voice called out from close by.
"Cream, this is Tangle the Lemur. I met her at the beach earlier today. Tangle, this is Cream and her Chao friend Cheese." Amy introduced the two, as they said their hellos once more and shook hands, while Cheese flew around the lemur curiously before chirping happily as he liked Tangle already, causing the young lemur to giggle.
"Hi to you too! Aren't you just so adorable?" Tangle beamed.
"Wait, that voice...Is that Tangle?" A girl's voice spoke suddenly, which only confused Sonic and the others while Tangle froze on the spot upon hearing it. That voice...could it be?
'It...is that...Is that who I think it is?' The lemur thought to herself, hurrying to follow the others impatiently as Cream, also puzzled, lead them into Tails' living room where Vanilla had just finished up setting up the table with places filled with cakes and tea, with Tails sitting on one couch and Cosmo, who looked up and stood from where she sat, opposite to him.
While Sonic, Amy and Chris were stunned and suddenly shocked that there was an unusual but obviously young and pretty alien girl in the house, and Tails and Vanilla were surprised to see an unfamiliar but friendly looking lemur girl, both new guests stared at each other in shock at first, before growing relief formed as tears began to swell up in their eyes.
"Tangle!" Cosmo exclaimed in relief, racing over to her friend who likewise did the same.
"COSMO! You're here! You're really here! Oh, thank goodness!" Tangle cried out happily, hugging her close friend as she laughed, the two finally reunited and with Cosmo out of the clutches of Dr. Eggman Nega.
"Tangle! I'm so happy to see you! I thought for sure I lost you too like I lost my family and friends and my planet!" Cosmo cried, tears sliding freely as she hugged her friend tightly.
Even though none of the group watching the scene had any idea what was going on and Sonic's theory that Blaze being here was incorrect, they all smiled warmly at this happy reunion, glad that Tangle and Cosmo were back together again. It made them all so happy, and it reminded Sonic and Chris of their reunion similar to this all those weeks ago as the blue hedgehog folded his arms at this heart-warming reunion.
"How did you get here? Have you seen Blaze or the others yet? You're not hurt, are you?" Tangle asked after she and Cosmo reluctantly pulled away, the former placing her hands on her younger friend's shoulders.
"I was found by Tails who brought me into his home, and he and his friends Mrs. Vanilla and her daughter Cream have been so kind to me." The young alien girl replied, before shaking her head. "But I'm afraid I have not seen Blaze, Jet, Wave or Storm. You are the first I have reunited today."
"Bummer..." The lemur sighed, saddened, before perking up again as she said. "But hey, it's no biggie. I know that that Blaze is around here somewhere, and if she's here, then so are the other guys! We'll find them in no time!"
"Really? How do you know?" Cosmo asked, suddenly filled with more relief and hope even further. If that is true, then she hasn't lost all of her friends she made since coming to Blaze's dimension after all. Everything was going to be alright! Thank goodness.
Tangle winked and turned her gaze to Sonic's group. "Thanks to Sonic who heard that she's around, and Amy who offered to help, and Chris too."
Puzzled, Cosmo turned to Sonic's group who nodded, before she blinked. "Oh, hello. Are you all of friends of Tails, Mrs. Vanilla, Cream and Cheese?"
"That's right. You're the girl Tails told me a bit about, right? I'm Sonic the Hedgehog. Pleasure to meetcha." Sonic replied with a thumbs up and a grin.
"My name's Amy Rose. It's so nice to meet you, Cosmo." Amy added.
"Hi there, Cosmo. My name's Chris." Chris waved, though he was shocked that he was speaking to an alien girl who, immediately, looked like she was a living alien plant that was friendly with rose buds on her head that acted as hair buns on her short green hair.
"We're all really glad you're with one of your friends again, Cosmo. See? I told ya' everything would be alright." Tails explained and beamed happily.
Cosmo smiled in gratitude and nodded. "Indeed you were, Tails. Thank you so much, to you and all of your friends." She bowed politely to the group.
"Yeah, thanks for helping out Cosmo, you guys. I'm so happy that you did." Tangle added to Tails, Vanillia, Cream and Cheese.
"It was our pleasure, dear. We always help others in need." Vanilla replied.
"It's kinda what we do." Tails added bashfully, rubbing the back of his head.
"We're so happy you found one of your friends, Cosmo!" Cream cheered, with Cheese cheering on as well.
"Now all that's left is to find Blaze and the gang and figure out how to get back home! Yeah!" Tangle cheered.
"Huh? Um, who's Blaze?" Tails asked, puzzled as the two new girls kept on mentioning the name.
Sonic placed his hands on his hips as he explained. "From what I heard, one of their friends is named Blaze the Cat and apparently she has magic powers over fire. I actually heard that she's kinda making people a bit nervous at Station Square, so I tried to find her but couldn't. Though I did bump into another guy earlier on a hover board who found a Chaos Emerald which I think he stole, so I kinda took it back, but the guy flew away from me." He pulled out the aforementioned blue Chaos Emerald which shocked his friends and new guests who gaped in surprise.
"Wait a sec! Somebody actually stole a Chaos Emerald!?" Amy exclaimed in shock, and her 'boyfriend' nodded to confirm it.
"Hey, wait a minute." Tangle spoke up as she and Cosmo approached to get a closer look. "Is it just me, or does that look kinda like a Sol Emerald?"
"It does, but it seems to not only be shaped differently, but I can sense that it's power is much similar to a Sol Emerald." Cosmo confirmed, feeling the warm power radiating from the gem that was new to her.
"Sol Emerald?" Sonic, Amy, Chris and Tails asked in unison in confusion.
Cosmo then gasped as a horrified realization formed before turning to Tangle. "Tangle! If you and I are here and so is Blaze, and the others, that would mean the Sol Emeralds are here too!"
"And we're here and the Emeralds are here, and so are our friends, that would mean..." Tangle paled as realization dawned onto her, as the memory of the last confrontation against Nega returned.
"NEGA IS HERE TOO!" The two girls cried out in horrified realization.
While Sonic and Chris had zero idea on who Nega was, judging by the horrified expressions of Tangle and Cosmo, and also seeing their friends also pale which made them realize that they have an idea what they were talking about, the two boys shared an uneasy glance as they felt a powerful case of dream-like deja vu.
"Oh no..." Cream and Amy both whispered fearfully, with Cheese whimpering.
"Oh, dear..." Vanilla murmured in grave concern.
"Oh no, this is bad..." Tails quivered.
"Uh, I'm probably gonna regret in asking, but I'm gonna guess that Tangle and Cosmo told ya' guys on who this Nega guy is, right?" Sonic asked, very uneasily as his theory was proven even more correct, which meant that they were in for a very dangerous encounter in the near future.
"It's worse than that, Sonic." Tails began, swallowing the lump formed in his throat as he began to tremble in growing fear. "Their enemy is an evil scientist and they all come from another dimension."
"Tangle told me earlier too, and, we're in real deep trouble, even worse than with Eggman." Amy added, fearfully.
"Worse than Eggman?" Chris asked nervously, gulping. "How bad are we talking about? Who is he?"
"The man who is an enemy to Tangle, Cosmo, Blaze and the rest of their friends...is a much darker incarnation or alternate version to our Eggman: They call him..." Tails trailed off, nervously.
"Dr. Eggman Nega, and from what we all obviously heard...he wanted to destroy their world and even whole universe." Amy finished fearfully, shivering.
A horrified moment of pause.
"WHAT!?" Sonic and Chris both screamed in fear and disbelief.
With history that was thought as a dream was not only becoming a reality, but it was also repeating itself despite that it wasn't Sonic or his friends going through space and time travel. Yet it was also much worse than any of them ever imagined.
Because now they had two Eggmen to go up against, except one of them was much more twisted and evil with a mind set goal to destroy everything. This was going to be a very big challenge Sonic is about to face!
A/N: Again, I am deeply sorry for the long delay, and that this chapter not only was left in a cliffhanger, but also didn't have much action into it. I'll try my best to put in more in future chapters, but I just got stuck with this story on a long hiatus and writer's block.
Things are about to go down into a dangerous situation for Sonic and his friends, and that he is unaware that he had already met another one of Blaze's friends which happens to be Jet. Will he and the rest of the heroes all join forces to stop the two Eggmen, find the Chaos and Sol Emeralds and save both dimensions from destruction? Only space and time will tell!
This is the final chapter of 2021 and either this is the last story to be updated for this year, or another one of my other stories will be. Either way, I will be back as we prepare for 2022 and what new challenges await for us.
So farewell everyone and to 2021, and Happy New Year to 2022! See you later!
