Hello, hello! You guys are going to hate me for this, but I needed to end the story. Or is it over..? I will let you decide. Eventually I will rewrite this story since I'm none to happy with the beginning, but overall I'm glad I wrote it.
Hidan grinned as he held the Celtic pendant that he stole from the headless horseman. He was currently swinging the necklace around in triumph of his accomplishment. I had stayed at the hotel we were checked in at simply because I didn't want another ghost experience. Everyone was currently filing into the room that Itachi, Kisame, and I were sharing. "So I take it y'all were successful?" I asked; I was currently sitting on the bed that Kisame and I claimed.
"Actually, yes. We also discovered that Zara can find the object through the headaches," Konan replied.
"I hate the headaches, but it works. Two down, eight to go," Zara sighed.
Hidan scoffed, "At least we got the fucking item."
I shook my head, "So what's the next clue?"
"The Headless Horseman actually whipped up some fog around the area and showed Salem. I think what we're looking for now has something to do with the Salem Witch Trials," Helen answered a bit uncomfortably.
I blinked; I had a feeling this was the start of something that would make me very antsy. "Well, you have fun with that. The existence of ghosts is bad enough, I'm not getting involved with witchcraft," I stated opening one of the books I had with me.
Kisame chuckled, "Not a fan I take it?"
"It really just depends on the type of witchcraft, but knowing what we're probably getting into with Salem, it's more than likely going to be the darker side of witchcraft that we're dealing with," I replied.
"That wouldn't surprise me actually," Zara noted.
"There's a light side of witchcraft?" Itachi questioned.
"Well, more like good witches called Wiccans," Helen answered.
I sighed and rubbed my temples, "Next stop: Salem, I suppose."
Time Skip
January was now upon us, and we just finished gathering the last artifact needed. However, one final clue was shown in the form of a blue floating light. I blinked, fighting off sleep as we sat in my hotel room. Andra was currently on speaker phone as we attempted to figure it out. "So you said a blue light and a stone was your clue, correct?" Andra questioned on the other line.
"Yes. I wasn't familiar with any of it," I grumbled.
A sigh was heard on the other line, "Well that's not helping me any."
"We're sorry, but that's all we got," Helen answered.
"Where are you at, anyways?" my half-sister inquired.
"We're here in Pennsylvania; the last spot was an asylum," Zara responded.
"That sounds like an awesome adventure!"
I scowled, "I assure you, it hasn't been."
A scoff was heard, "Only because you're a boring person."
"Just call me at seven o'clock your time if you've found anything," I yawned.
"Alright, you have a good night."
"Same to you chickie," I said before hanging up.
"Let's call it a night," Helen decided as a yawn escaped her. She then proceeded to head to her room with her artists in tow.
"Agreed," Zara muttered as Hidan and Kakuzu followed her to their room.
Soon everyone had left the room. I face planted into the bed after I changed into my pajamas; sleep had evaded me three nights in a row and I was hoping that it would catch up to me tonight. I heard the bathroom door open and a familiar chuckle filled the room. "Comfortable there, Temp?" I heard Kisame ask.
"Not really; I can't sleep on my face," I muttered into my pillow.
I heard footsteps and added weight to the bed before an arm snaked around my waist to roll me on my side. "Could you repeat? I couldn't understand you muttering into your pillow," Kisame stated.
"I said I can't sleep on my stomach," I answered with a yawn.
"So don't lay on your stomach," he pointed out.
I looked at the clock which read 1:03a.m. and I finally allowed sleep to overtake me. I awoke to the sound of my phone blaring an all too familiar ringtone. 'Let's go say 'hi' to Senpai. Oh Senpai, where are you? I'm going to get you, don't you be afraid of me~!' Annoyed at being woken up so early, I picked up the phone with a sigh. "Yellow?" I answered with a grumble.
"Good morning to you, too. I think I may have found something about the blue floating lights," Andra retorted.
"Well? It's too early for this and I haven't exactly had coffee yet..." I grumbled.
"Fine, fine. The closest thing I have for an answer are Will-0-The-Wisps. They are located in Scotland, and if that's the case, there are a wide variety of rock formations that it could have been referring to. I'd suggest looking at some of the standing stone circles, maybe they'll be the final clue for the Akatsuki to return home."
"Standing stones? You're kidding, right?"
"Nope, so I'd get started soon because there are quite a few."
"Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate the information. If I come up with anything else I'll give you a call. Thank you so much, sis."
"Anytime! I'll talk to you later, bye!"
When the line ended I finally noticed both Itachi and Kisame looking at me expectantly. I sighed, "Go ahead and get the others. I'll make me some coffee and I'll tell you what Andra told me."
With a nod, Itachi left while Kisame went to use the restroom. I went to the Keurig brewer that was in the hotel to make me a cup, and once my shark was done with the bathroom, I went in to do my morning business. When I emerged, I fixed my coffee before realizing that everyone had filed into the room. I took a sip before sighing. "Andra called. According to her, our next stop is in Scotland. Something about Will-O-The-Wisps and standing rock formations are involved," I explained.
"That's out of the country," Helen pointed out.
"Yep..." I answered.
"They will need passports in order to fly cross country," Zara added.
I rubbed my temples, "I realizes this. This is going to be a bitch...We have to make you guys birth certificates, get you guys Social Security numbers, State I.D.s, and then we can get you passports..."
"This sounds like a very tedious process..." Pein remarked.
"Yes, well if you guys want to go home, this is what we have to do," I growled before drinking more coffee.
"Why can't I just get a hold of some clay and make clay birds, yeah?" Deidara asked.
"Because that isn't normal. All it would take is one person to see you and everything you've done to keep yourselves a secret would be thrown out the window," I replied.
"So getting birth certificates is the next step?" Konan confirmed.
"Yep..." Helen sighed.
It took us a month to get the birth certificates, and now we were currently sitting in a government building waiting to get their social security numbers. Talk about a long, tedious wait. Tobi was getting antsy from sitting in the chairs, so his hyperactivity was bottling up. "Why is everything so quiet?" he obnoxiously whispered.
"Because it's a government facility and the same rules as a library apply," I whispered quietly back.
"But it's so boring," he whined.
"Shut up, Tobi, un!" Deidara bit; he was glaring at the masked man.
I groaned, "Please be quiet; if we get kicked out you're not going home."
When Tobi's number was called, I was so grateful about it that I let out a huge sigh. One by one the members were called until finally we were heading out and back to the hotel. By the time March rolled around, we were finally set to fly out to Scotland. We were on the plan, almost ready for takeoff, but I was worried more than anything. I knew I would go back to what I was going to do after the Akatsuki left, but I would miss them as well. They made our lives exciting, and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have met Helen either. I sighed as I rested my eyes; things would be different, and yet not very different at all. It made me wish that my new friends wouldn't leave me.
"Temp, are you okay?" Zara asked.
"Yeah, I'm just thinking," I answered.
"That's dangerous," my cousin joked with a smile.
"Oh hardy har har. It doesn't hurt my brain as much as it probably hurts yours," I retorted.
I heard a chuckle from Kisame before Sasori's voice was heard. "Isn't it a bit too early to start this?" he grumbled.
"For you? No, nothing is too early," I taunted.
I could hear the puppet master scowling from his spot on the plane as we finally took off. We had a long flight ahead of us, and that made me weary. Once we were in the air, I stuck my headphones in my ear for my iPod and relaxed. I wasn't happy that our adventure was coming to an end, but at the same time I knew it had to. I was going to miss the Akatsuki, and the time I've spent with everyone for as long as I did. It would be hard separating what I've grown accustomed to since the Akatsuki came into my life. Tears threatened to prick at the corner of my eyes, but I shook my head to get rid of the feeling. I didn't try to annoy anyone this trip; it didn't seem right to. The longer we were on the plane, the more I felt the urge to cry. I wasn't ready to say goodbye, but I knew it was time to.
Once we landed, I hesitantly got up and slowly made my way off the plane. It took a bit to get everyone together, but once we did, we got everyone out of the airport and into a few taxis. That was when I got a call from Andra. "Hey, what's up?" I asked.
"The best choice is the Callanish Stones; not only is it the more popular, but to your airport it's closest. I would go there first to check it out," Andra said.
I nodded and moved the phone away from my mouth to talk to the cab driver, "Can you take us to the Calanais Standing Stones?" Since the cab I was in was in front of the other two, I knew they would follow us.
After Andra and I said our goodbyes and about an hour or so drive, we found ourselves at the visitor center near the Calanais Standing Stones. We were about to say goodbye for good. It was almost closing time for the visitor center, but we wouldn't be there for long at all. As a group, we made our way down to the stones in silence. This was going to be hard for everyone, I knew that, and so did the leaders of Akatsuki. We walked to the center of the stones before ten wisps seemed to materialize out of nowhere near the outer rim of standing stones; they were waiting for the organization. The Akatsuki members pulled out their now glowing artifacts, then looked between us and their leader. I smiled slightly at the group. "You know, as much as a pain this all was...I'm going to miss you guys. You made our average lives a little more exciting, and we thank you for it...We won't ever see each other again, but don't forget about us, okay?" I said as a few tears left my eyes.
Zara and Helen nodded in agreement; Zara looked out the ground and began shuffling her feet to distract herself. "We won't ever forget about you guys, so promise us," Helen demanded as tears also fell from her eyes.
Pein nodded before each member approached a wisp with the items in hand. Once they were standing where the wisps vanished, a blue light surrounded them before they, too, were gone. Helen, Zara, and I were the only three left. "C'mon, let's go...The cabs are probably still nearby and we have to catch a flight back home..." Zara muttered.
Helen and I nodded before following my cousin back to the visitor center. Our journey had finally come to an end...
If you wish for me to do something else with the story, let me know, if not, this is the last of it until I get a better version written. Cheerio!
