As we all know, I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh! Or Yu-Gi-Oh GX. I only own my OCs and the story I write.

1 Week Later:

Ax…

Max…

Max. Wake up.

The silver haired baby in his crib begins to stir. His eyes slowly begin to open as he wakes up. In his blurred from sleep vision, he can see a figure standing, looking down at him in his crib. Once his vision clears, he sees…

A familiar set of ocean blue eyes gazing at him.

Cecilia Pegasus.

She looks as lovely and healthy as she does in one of her husband's paintings. Her hair that had lost its luster and was worn down by exertion and sweat, is now properly cared for and almost glowing. Her dress is long, conservative, and periwinkle blue. The shoulders of the dress are slightly puffed out. The collar and bottom of the dress are done in frills and are colored a light pink color. The finishing touch on her elegant gown are the three red ribbons that line down her chest from largest to smallest going down.

Everything about her looks perfect except…

She is transparent…

Hello, my little one. She smiles with as much love as she can give. I bet you find this to be quite the shock. Well… that is if you can understand me. She says uncertainly because her baby is only staring at her like a normal baby would.

(AN: Max does have his memories from his previous life. However, he is currently only 1 week old and his brain cannot currently process that kind of information. His memories and knowledge will not come to him until I'd say about age four or five when he starts to develop as a child. I'm not going to turn him into a super genius baby. Because that's just creepy imagery…)

Anyway,,, She shakes her head rapidly to get back to her point. I am here for you, my baby. I don't know how, but I guess someone answered my prayers. As my strength started to fade, someone told me that I will stay with you, now and forever. So, now I can watch you grow up and stay by your side.

Cecilia turns her gaze to the ceiling, as if looking through it. Whoever you are… Thank you for letting me stay.

Her focus turns back to Max as her emotions take a small hit. I just wish… She brushes her hand against the bars of the crib… or she would have if it didn't phase through them. I just wish that I wasn't such a ghost… I know I will have to get used to it but… A lone tear falls down from her face and disappears. I wish I could hold you once more… She reaches her left hand to inevitably phase through him… Except…

*Gasp*

Cecilia breathes in sharply and recoils her hand in shock.

Warmth…

I… What…? She looks at her hand in surprise and her eyes fill with hope. Could it be… Her hand descends once more to reach her baby and…

The warm feeling of contact returns to her. Her ghostly left-hand caresses her baby's small face. I… The tears return in full force as she grabs her baby and holds him up to her chest. I can touch you…! I can feel the warmth of your face. She pets at his hair. I can feel your hair…! She pokes his little nose causing his face to scrunch up. I can boop your nose! Her tears shine as they fall from her face as she laughs while dancing around with her child. Max's baby-like laughter fills the room as well as she swings him around.

After a moment she stops spinning and releases one of her hands and looks at it. I can feel the blanket wrapped around him…? She rubs at the blue cloth and it feels very comforting to her touch. Can I feel what he feels…? This is so strange but…

Her smile returns as does her dancing. I don't care! I have no regrets anymore! This has made my new life worth living!

Cecilia looks up once more and yells out. Thank you whoever you are!

(AN: I'm just going to explain this now because I do not feel like explaining it later hahaha! So, Cecilia may be a spirit, but due to her significant connection to Max's soul she can interact with anything on Max's person. If she wanted to straighten his clothes out as he's wearing them, then she can. The other thing she can do is that as long as she is touching Max, she can interact with things that aren't on his person. So, if she is holding onto his hand, she could bound down and pick up a flower if she wanted to. Only thing is that this makes him really look haunted hahaha! Anyway this is an ability that we're gonna have fun with later!)

1 Year Later:

An entire year has passed since the birth of Maximillian Pegasus Jr. and the untimely death of Cecilia Pegasus. However, due to the intervention of a benevolent Egyptian goddess, Cecilia's soul has been merged with her own son's to save her spirit. And she has taken advantage of this wholeheartedly. Whenever there's no one around him, she appears before him and plays with him or just talks to him like any mother would. However, while the mother has been in his life. The father, Maximillian Sr. has been away from his child

Until…

Cecilia is seen playing with little Max as he wiggles around in his crib.

Bleeaaahhh! She makes silly faces by closing her eyes and sticking her tongue out. Which leads to lots of laughter and clapping from the little tyke. She laughs herself. Hehehe! It's always the faces that get you going, my little one! Now, we should be getting you to-

Cecilia is caught off guard by the loud sounds of helicopter blades approaching their home.

He's home… She smiles sadly… but then her smile drops completely as she shudders. Wait… he's back… but… what is this dark power I can feel that is with him… Oh Maximillian, what have you done…?!

The chopper flies to the other side of the castle, where the helipad is located. The large black chopper lands and the blades slowly spin to a stop.

The side door opens and from it is Maximillian Pegasus Sr. in his normal attire of a red suit with a white frilly button up underneath it. Finishing his outfit is the black string tied in a bow hanging from his collar. His silver hair has gotten slightly longer as he is now a little older. His skin is also slightly tanner from his almost yearlong trip to Egypt. Besides the skin tone change, his eyes also tell a different story, well only his right eye, as his left is being shrouded by his long hair. The visible eye tells a story of a growing darkness and mischief in his soul. Underneath his hair, a slight golden gleam can be seen.

He looks at his castle with a slight fond smile.

I'm home…

He shakes the reverie out from his head and begins to head for the main door to his home. The large dark oak door is there to greet him as it is opened for him as he steps closer towards it. Inside he sees his personal assistant, Croquet, standing in front of the foyer's staircase. Croquet wears a dark suit and shades. His hair and moustache are colored a dark blueish green.

Croquet coughs into his fist. "Welcome back, Mr. Pegasus." He greets in his normally raspy voice. "I assume your trip was a success." It was phrased as more of a statement than a question.

"Yes of course it was." Pegasus slightly snaps back. "I discovered many things in the Egyptian ruins I explored. All of them leading towards my ultimate goals. Hahaha." He ends with a slight chuckle.

"Congratulations, sir." Croquet responds in a tone that holds no excitement whatsoever. "Now…" He shifts his shades a bit. "…Are you going to see the young master yet?"

Pegasus closes his eye and stands still…

A few moments pass and it opens with a strong look. "Yes, it is about time I visit him. I believe that with what I have discovered, I can finally face him…" The strength in his words falters a bit before it returns, and he makes his way up the steps.

"I should hope so…" Croquet says once his boss has moved away from earshot. "The kid needs more than me and the staff in his life…"

Cecilia hovers in place in stunned silence as she hears the footsteps getting closer to Max's bedroom door. As the sounds get closer, the ominous, corrupting feeling she noticed from earlier got closer as well. Finally, the footsteps stopped in front of the door and it opened.

Pegasus opened the door to his son's room and walked inside. He stopped for a moment as he thought there was someone by Max's crib, but they vanished the moment he blinked.

Must still be exhausted from the trip.

His eye wandered the room for a moment, and he felt slightly disappointed. The room was quite spartan. There were no decorations or pictures hanging from the walls. The color of the room was only the brown colors of the carpeting and the castle walls themselves. The only things that brightened up the room were the colorful toys spread around outside the crib. The crib itself was relatively drab as well, being simply made of wood with a mobile with the sun, moon, and stars hanging above it.

Once he finished observing the room, he feels a small bit of guilt in his heart.

The differences between our childhoods are already staggering, but… He starts to walk towards the crib. I know he'll forgive me once my plan comes to fruition. He steels himself and puts his guilt to the side for now as his child comes into view.

He stops at the side of the crib and looks at the boy he has not seen since he was born. He reaches down and slowly grabs ahold of Max, who makes no move or sounds of complaint. The baby is held up to his chest and he looks at his son's eyes.

His eyes are so much like hers… The guilt starts to well back up, but he shakes his head to rid himself of those thoughts. No, I need to see him. I need to face him. Hell, I still need to speak a word to him…

"H-hello… Max." Pegasus stutters slightly. "I don't know if you know who I am, but… I am your father. Unfortunately, I haven't been acting like much of one lately. In fact, I haven't at all… But I needed to go away because there was something I needed to find." He says more to reassure himself than the child. "I needed to find a way to make my dreams come true. And I may have found both of them. I'm going to create a brand new game to spread across the world. And I do hope you'll play it." Pegasus starts to smile a little as his excitement grows. "I discovered there were games long ago that involved monsters and spells, and I want to bring those games back, but as something that everyone can play. Heh, I'm hoping you'll be able to play that with your friends one day. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"

Max giggles at his now, smiling father and reaches for his hair. Doing so causes the bangs covering his other eye to be shifted. Pegasus stops as his Millennium Eye is now staring at the boy in his arms and the boy stares back while reaching for it.

"Ah. This thing?" He gestures to the ancient eye. "I believe this will help with my second dream…" His mood takes a downfall. "This… I think can help bring Cecilia, your mother, back to us… It wasn't fair to either of us that she was taken like that… Once my plan is complete, I know that our family will be together. Now that… would be truly wonderful…" He solemnly stares at his son, who stops reaching for the Millennium Item, in favor of grabbing his dad's chin. This brings the mood in the room back up just a bit.

Meanwhile, in the corner of the room behind the two, a familiar figure begins to form.

Isis slowly strides up to Pegasus and stops just behind his shoulder and looks down at the boy she reincarnated. Said boy stares right back at her, but this goes unnoticed by Pegasus.

This. Isis holds up her index finger as it begins to glow with her magic. Is the second gift I will bestow upon you. Her finger inches towards the Millennium Eye, still unnoticed. Use it wisely. The finger comes into contact with the eye and it begins to glow violently as she vanishes.

"What?!" Pegasus shouts in panic. "No! No! NO! STOP IT!" His cries do nothing to stop the item from releasing a blinding flash throughout the whole chamber.

Then darkness…

Hurried footsteps are heard as Croquet barges into the room. "Mr. Pegasus?!" He immediately spots his boss and son on the ground. Pegasus slowly gets up holding a hand to his head, while the baby is crying on the floor right next to him. He picks up the child and begins to bounce him up and down to calm him. "Sir, what happened? I heard yelling and could see a light from the other side of the halls."

Pegasus groans as he holds his hand to the Item. "This damn thing went off for some reason and basically flash-banged us. I don't know why, but it did something without my commands and I need to bring it under control." He lets out a calming sigh. "How is Max?"

The baby in question has since stopped crying and started giggling at being bounced around. Croquet starts to check him for injuries but immediately stops when he reaches the boy's face.

"Uh…sir?" He calls out unsure.

"What? Is he okay?"

"One of his eyes…is different."

"What?!" Panic begins to fester in Pegasus once more as he rushes to see what changed. Sure enough, as he gazed in shock at his son's eyes, his left eye was no longer a deep ocean blue and was now…

A brilliant gold.

His shaking hand meets his Millennium Eye once again. "What did I just do…?" He asks in disbelief.

"Sir?"

A flash of guilt spreads across Pegasus' face and he turns to leave the room. Croquet sadly sighs at this and sets Max back down in his crib to follow his boss out the door.

Pegasus ignores his assistant's calls as he continues to his private study. His hand drops from his face. What did this damn thing do…?

What no one ever noticed was that his Millennium Eye had started to look a little more aged and had lost some of its luster.

Cecilia's spirit reformed not long after they left with a look of confusion on her face. She looks at her son's new eye and holds a hand to her heart.

There's something new with us… She started. It feels like that force that surrounded Maximillian, but… pure. It doesn't feel corrupt like his does. She reaches down to caress the side of Max's face that changed. She gazes into the eye with uncertainty. What could this new gift be?

Months Later in Egypt:

A hotel door opens, revealing a somewhat average room with only a bed, a dresser with a mirror, and a desk. The only light pouring into the room was from the clear moonlight peering in through the blinds.

An exhausted Maximillian Pegasus walks in past the threshold and slams the door behind him. He lets out a large sigh of relief before collapsing onto his bed, not even bothering to change his clothes.

I'm finally rid of the monstrous cards…

It has only been a few months and already Pegasus had to urgently return to Egypt. After his first trip, he was immediately on top of starting his new card game "Duel Monsters". A card game that he based off of the ancient Egyptian's shadow games, where they would fight using real monsters based on their own magic and will power. His employees got to work creating a plethora of monster cards and the extra spell and trap cards he wanted made to shake up the game.

But those were not the most important cards. No, the most important cards he wanted made were based off of the monsters known as the Egyptian God Monsters. Obelisk the Tormentor, The Winged Dragon of Ra, and Slifer the Sky Dragon. All of them were powerful, mythical monsters of legend that exuded power. And due to the temptations of his Millennium Eye, Pegasus wanted the power of those monsters for his own game.

However, it was not meant to be. Any employee that worked on trying to study the god monsters to put them into print mysteriously vanished. This agitated Pegasus to the point that he decided that it was better to make them himself. Once his work was finished and the gods had been given printed form, he was visited by them in a dream after he fell asleep. They were not amused by them and showed him a vision of their destructive powers and then turned their powers on him. He was awoken from his slumber after their enraged attack hit him in the dream. He was terrified of the god monsters now and knew that no one should be in control of such power. Since the prototype cards had already been made, he locked them in a briefcase and went back to Egypt. A woman named Ishizu Ishtar agreed to assist him and took the cards away to be sealed away forever.

This leads us back to our current scene.

Sprawled out on his bed, Pegasus slowly closes his eyes to rest and recover from his long, stressful day. His tensed form begins to relax into the plush mattress and REM sleep begins to take over for him.

The familiar figure of Isis appears, with a smile on her face and a glowing index finger once more. This shall be the last gift for your son. Be sure that they get to him at a reasonable time. She lightly pokes his sleeping forehead and the light on her finger fades into it. This will be the last time I interfere in this world. Good luck with your new life, young Max. Her spiritual form slowly disperses into light and vanishes without a trace.

*Gasp*

A lone brown eye snaps open and immediately scans its surroundings. Pegasus is currently standing on a dark grassy plain covered in fog.

Where am I…? I'm dreaming, aren't I? Yes. I just fell asleep. But this feels so real… He begins to slightly panic Please tell me that this isn't another wrath-filled vision brought on by those god cards!

He looks around for the giant beasts or anything really, but nothing comes into view until…

The grass in front of him shifts slightly as if someone is walking towards him.

"Who's there?" He calls out.

The figure doesn't respond and moves closer, then stops when he's about 20 feet away from him. The fog is still thick enough that he can't make out all the details of the figure. What he can see from this is that the figure is a young man in his teens and is roughly 6'0" ft tall. His hair sort of blends into the fog a little bit so it must be a greyish color. He wears a dark blue jacket with a black shirt inside. He can't make out the figure's face because they have yet to even look up at him.

"Who are you and why have you brought me here?" He asks feeling tense at this intrusion into his dreams.

The young man smirks and reaches into his right pocket. He pulls out a card and holds it in between his index and middle fingers above his head. The back of the card is facing towards Pegasus and is immediately recognized.

"That's one of my Duel Monsters cards! But the game hasn't even been made public yet! What are you doing with one?!" He shouts out at his dream's intruder in shock.

The card is flipped around and…

It's blank.

"What-"

Pegasus is cut off by the card shining for a moment, distracting him. The shine dies down and the card is still blank. After a moment, other cards begin shooting out of the empty card and begin to flood his vision. These cards are not blank though. They all have images of different monsters, spells, and traps. He glances at every single card and counts them. There are 32 cards in total.

"These cards…are incredible. There are only a couple here that I recognize from cards that I designed." He says in awe. "Are you offering these designs to me?"

The figure says nothing.

The cards in front of him begin to recede back into their original blank card. Once all the other cards had returned, the blank one begins to gain an image. As soon as Pegasus is about to witness the final card's art, the grass shuffles yet again and draws his attention to behind his visitor.

A shadowy visage of a violet-haired woman, with her eyes closed, appears from behind the young man. She has pointed ears with golden earrings, golden arm and leg bands, and a somewhat revealing shoulderless, short, black and white dress with a dark sash hanging from her chest. The last, yet most fascinating part of her attire is the small burning halo slowly spinning above her head. She gives a small smile and wraps her arms around him in a… motherly embrace?

Is this the final duel monster?

*Fwoosh*

Six dark bat-like, yet somehow feathered, wings snap out from behind the woman and hug close to the two as if protecting them. The young man smiles warmly and brings his right arm back down to put the card away. His left embrace raises and holds onto the woman's arms. He looks up to meet Pegasus 'eyes.

One eye is a familiar dark blue, but the other eye is covered by his hair. However, this is enough to draw some familiarity.

"It can't be…" Pegasus whispers. "Max…?"

His son(?) still smiles at him and winks at him.

A golden light begins to shine from behind his bangs and blinds Pegasus.

"WAIT!" He cries out, but the light doesn't stop. Then suddenly…

"AHH!" Pegasus shoots up from his temporary bed covered in sweat. He wipes off the cold liquid and begins to smile.

I remember everything about that dream. Everything to the last detail. His smile turns into a wide grin. I also remember the details of every single card shown to me explicitly. Those cards must be from somewhere other than Egypt because I never found them in the hieroglyphics. Hm… He adopts a thinking posture. What kind of power is hidden in those cards…? But wait…

His eyes widen in realization. Those cards aren't for me. If that really was Max, then… I should make them for him…

Pegasus gets up, walks to the window and opens the blinds to let in the sunshine. He looks out to the desert city with a thoughtful gaze.

What was the significance of that woman behind him? And that golden light… Was that what I thought it was? It couldn't be… Could it…?

He shakes his head with an exasperated sigh.

Things for another time. First off, I need to return home and begin making those new cards. It's the least I can do for him after what I've done to him.

He gains a somber look and reaches for his packed luggage. Suitcase in hand, he walks out the door eager to return home and get to designing.

Hey guys, Middl Mo here. Thank you so much for reading my story so far. I can't believe how many people have already seen it. It's honestly mind blowing. It inspires me to write more for this story and get into the GX parts already, but I know I can't rush things. I'll post whenever I can, but don't expect once a week. Anyway, let's get to answering the awesome people that left reviews/comments.

Reviews:

Legionstone: Hey thanks a lot! I will have to apologize though, that I will be following show's plot structure. Will everything happen the same way and have no changes? No, just because I'm following the plot doesn't mean I want to copy paste it. I want to work with some of the characters that I wished had done something rather than just leave it to Jaden. And don't worry Max will have his own quirks and so will Cecilia. Let me give you two words: Ghost Pranks.

Galaxylord1923: Thanks a lot for giving this story a shot!

deku rose: I'm so glad you love it! And yes I plan on doing an Arc V story someday, but I don't know when. Now, I don't know if I'll use that archetype in Arc V, but there is some of it in one of the decks Max has in the story! Also don't worry, I have plans for Yuzu.

toolazytologin: Dude, you have no idea how much that one sentence means to me!

Jack797: This made my night and what got me started on this chapter so soon! I want to try and give me OCs a purpose to being there. Whether that's their own plot or to have a positive influence and present change in some way, usually with the side characters. Also just want to let you know that while I reference Yu Yu Hakusho (thanks for liking that btw!) the entire beginning and Aqua being there is a Konosuba reference. If you ever get the chance, check it out!

Zero Slash One: Hey, I PM'd you my opinions on what I want to do with my stories. I'm sorry that I can't make everyone happy, but this is how I want to do my story and I want it to be fun for not just you guys, but me too.

Guest: Man, the moment I'm about to post this chapter, you show up my random guest! Thanks a lot! Also yeah, I'm not a fan of bringing in OCs to just have them be best friends/clones of the main characters. Also there are reasons people get cut, cause there's TOO MUCH EDGE. Now, will there be some edge in the later seasons, maybe. After all it's when things get a lot more serious and a little fucked up too. I mean hey, Yu-Gi-Oh! has plenty of edge. We got Seto Kaiba because of it lol!

Once again, thank you all so much!

And Farewell!
