Psych Office
Shawn was at his desk when he heard the door open. Before he could get out of his seat Juliet appeared with a plastic bag in her hand.
"Well hello, wife." Shawn greeted.
Juliet walked over to Shawn and gave him a kiss, "Hello."
"You brought presents?"
"I did. Are you alone for the next 2 hours?"
"Gus should be back in a minute, what's up?"
"I want this to be just an 'us' moment."
"I can text him real quick."
Shawn took out his phone and texted Gus.
"Hey dude, do you mind staying out of the office for a couple of hours? Juliet has something planned and apparently she wants it to be an 'us' thing." Shawn texted.
"Yeah no problem." Gus texted back.
Shawn put his phone on his desk and turned back to Juliet and smiled.
"What did he say?" Juliet asked.
"He said ok." Shawn said.
Juliet took Shawn's hand and pulled him over to the couch.
Shawn sat down next to Juliet and brushed the hair out of her eyes.
Juliet went to Shawn's desk and started cleaning.
"So that's what you're doing here?" Shawn asked.
"Yep. I'll be 5 minutes." Juliet said.
Shawn sat back and watched Juliet go through all the crap on his desk and watched her put the papers in file folders and put a paper tray on his desk.
Juliet got done cleaning Shawn's desk and went back to the couch and sat next to him.
"What's that big file of papers on the desk for?" Shawn asked.
"We are taking that home and going through it. I'm sure it's a couple of years old." Juliet said.
Shawn nodded.
Juliet grabbed the bag and pulled out a wrapped box out for Shawn.
"Is this for me?" Shawn asked.
Juliet nodded.
Shawn began to tear the wrapping paper slowly.
"Shawn hurry up!" Juliet joked.
Shawn finished unwrapping his present and opened the box and saw a pink frame with the ultrasound picture from when they found out what they were having.
"Jules…" Shawn whispered.
Shawn looked up at Juliet, "Thank you, sweetheart."
Shawn took the frame completely out of the box and saw Natalie Grace Spencer written on the frame.
"Juliet." Shawn said.
Juliet grabbed Shawn's hand and rubbed her thumb on the back of Shawn's hand.
"What do you think?" Juliet asked.
Shawn put the frame on the coffee table in front of the couch and turn back to Juliet and grabbed both of her hands.
"I love it. Thank you." Shawn said.
Juliet leaned in and kissed Shawn.
Shawn pulled away and pulled Juliet into a hug and sighed.
"Baby? What's wrong?" Juliet asked.
"I've had a really bad day." Shawn whispered.
Juliet rubbed her hand up and down Shawn's back, "What's going on?"
"Every lead that I got today was a dead in."
"What's the case?"
"You know the bank robbery you guys are dealing with?"
Juliet nodded.
"Well the owner came to me and said that it was an inside job and he came to me for help." Shawn said.
"Where did you get the leads?"
"The owner. I feel like he's running me in circles."
"Do you mind if I help you?"
"Just you?"
Juliet nodded.
"Of course you can help."
Shawn got up off the couch and put the frame in the top left hand corner of his desk. He sat down in his chair and just stared at the picture for a few seconds.
Juliet got up and walked behind Shawn and wrapped her arms across his chest.
"She'll be here before you know it." Juliet said.
"She is. Have you decided which room is hers yet?" Shawn asked.
"I was thinking the one across from our bedroom."
Shawn nodded, "Do you want to paint it?"
"Can we do a neutral color like a light grey?"
"Yeah. We can also put pink letters on the wall if you want."
"Oooh I like that."
Shawn and Juliet sat in comfortable silence when the door opened.
"Gus I thought I told you we need a few hours." Shawn fussed.
"Well hello to you too, son." Henry said.
"Dad?"
"That's me."
"What are you doing here?"
"Your lovely wife invited a few of us to the office for a little get together."
"But we just had a get together on Friday."
"There's presents."
"Why didn't you lead with that?"
Henry laughed.
Maddie and Gus walked through the door with wrapped boxes.
A few minutes later Karen and Carlton walked in.
"Why is everyone here?" Shawn asked.
"We are having a baby shower later, but I know you like the whole intimate thing, so I thought we would open some presents here first." Juliet said.
Shawn tilted his head back and looked at Juliet and smiled, "Thank you."
"Of course."
Karen walked over to Shawn and saw the new addition to his desk.
"Are you ready for her to be here?" Karen asked.
"Beyond. We just picked out which room is hers." Shawn said.
"She's not sleeping with you guys the first few months?" Henry asked.
Shawn pushed his seat back and told Juliet to sit in his lap.
Juliet got in Shawn's lap and messed with his hair.
"I guess we never really thought about that." Shawn said.
"I mean, would you mind if she slept with us for the first few months?" Juliet asked.
"She can. I know you don't want to have to make a million trips across the hall a night."
"I hope you know that we are taking turns with her in the middle of the night."
"I know she has to eat every 3 hours, so I'll do diaper changes."
"Did Shawn Spencer just compromise?" Maddie asked.
Shawn looked at his mom, "Yes he did."
"It only took you 35 years."
Shawn rolled his eyes.
Shawn looked at Juliet, "Can we open presents now?"
Juliet laughed, "Of course we can. Let's go sit on the couch."
Juliet got off Shawn's lap and moved to the couch.
Shawn got up out of his chair and walked over to Juliet and kissed her cheek then sat down.
"Ok, do we have any big ones?" Shawn asked.
"Nah. We're going to do the big presents at the actual baby shower in a couple of months." Juliet said.
Shawn nodded.
Maddie stepped forward and gave Shawn and Juliet her few bags first.
"3 bags mom?" Shawn asked.
"Yes." Maddie said.
Shawn put the gift on the coffee table and he and Juliet went through it.
The first bag had a few onesies, the second one had some bibs and pacifiers, and the last one had the letters that Shawn and Juliet were talking about a few minutes earlier.
Shawn took the letters out, "How'd you know mom?"
"I might have called your wife on that one." Maddie said.
Shawn turned to Juliet, "So the letters were originally your idea?"
Juliet smiled and nodded.
Juliet went through the onesies and found a yellow one with pineapples all over it.
Juliet elbowed Shawn and showed him the onesie she was holding.
Shawn looked at Juliet and gasped, "Mom! You didn't."
"I did. I got a few in different sizes." Maddie said.
"This is definitely her coming home outfit."
Juliet turned to Shawn, "It is?"
"I'm sorry let me rephrase that. Jules, can this please be her coming home outfit?"
Juliet laughed, "Yes."
"I have the best wife in the world."
A few minutes later and the office door opened again and Shawn looked at Juliet , "Is there someone else coming?"
A few seconds later Maryanne walked through the walkway.
"Mom!" Juliet exclaimed.
Juliet got up and ran over to her mom and hugged her.
"Hey Julie." Maryanne said.
Maryanne backed up and held Juliet at arms length to look at her.
"You look absolutely lovely." Maryanne complimented.
"You think so?" Juliet asked.
Shawn heard Juliet's comment and got up and went over to her.
"Juliet Lynn, did you just doubt your gorgeousness?" Shawn asked.
Juliet turned around and saw Shawn behind her and nodded.
Shawn took Juliet's hand and went into the part of the office where it was just them.
"Baby, what's goin on?" Shawn whispered.
"I haven't been feeling very pretty lately." Juliet said.
Shawn pulled Juliet closer, "Why not?"
"None of my clothes fit anymore and I'm getting uncomfortable."
"Oh sweetheart, you may think I'm just saying this because I'm your husband, but I'm dead serious. Jules, you've always been beautiful, ever since the day that I met you. Baby, I know this is a rom-com comment, but you look even more gorgeous since you're carrying our baby. The baby that's 1 part you and 1 part you and 2 parts awesome because you're awesome and I'm awesome…"
Juliet smiled, "Shawn, you're rambling."
"But I'm serious Jules. Ever since we found out that we were expecting, you've had this new beauty to you. You are gorgeous and if you're feeling down, you can always call me, because I'm going to be here for you. Always."
Behind them the group were eavesdropping and they heard a sniffle.
Shawn turned around and saw Gus crying.
"Gus!" Shawn laughed.
"Shut up Shawn." Gus fussed.
Juliet curled into Shawn's embrace and looked at everyone.
"Damn, I have never heard a speech like that ever." Karen said.
"He's something special isn't he?" Juliet asked.
Maryanne walked over to Shawn, "Shawn, thank you for treating my only girl right."
"Maryanne, I will always treat her right. She's the most important person in my life." Shawn said.
Shawn let go of Juliet for a second and hugged Maryanne.
Shawn yawned and rubbed his eyes.
"Uh-oh, someone is getting tired." Juliet joked.
"I'm exhausted." Shawn said.
"How about we load these presents up in the car and open them when we get home?"
"Can I nap first?"
Juliet chuckled, "Of course you can."
"You're the best."
Shawn bent down and kissed Juliet.
Juliet pulled away, "Guys, thank you for coming today. I hate that we have to cut it short, but you know, baby needs his nap. I will send out baby shower invites in the next few weeks. We will also be setting up a registry at Target."
Carlton got the presents and brought them to Shawn's car.
Juliet saw Carlton walk outside and went and followed him.
"Hey." Juliet said.
Carlton turned around and smiled, "Hey. You have a good one."
"I do. I want to thank you for being here. I know you don't like these things, but I appreciate it."
"Of course. Have you and Spencer come up with godparents yet?"
"Carlton Lassiter are you hinting that you want to be my girl's godfather?"
"A little."
"I will throw that suggestion out to Shawn."
Carton finished putting the presents in Shawn's car and walked back in the Psych office.
Shawn was getting his keys when Carlton and Juliet walked back in.
"Where did you two go?" Shawn asked.
"Carlton was putting the presents in your car." Juliet said.
"Thanks man."
Carlton nodded.
Shawn went around and said his goodbyes and he got to Juliet and smiled.
"What's that smile for?" Juliet asked.
"Nothing." Shawn said.
Juliet narrowed her eyes and nodded.
"I'll see you at the house in a few minutes." Shawn whispered.
Juliet looked up at Shawn, "Ok. I love you."
"I love you too. Drive safe."
"I have to drive safe."
Shawn laughed.
Shawn bent down and pulled Juliet in for a kiss.
Juliet pulled away and gave Shawn one more peck and then sent him on his way.
Everyone else began to file out of the office.
Juliet turned to Gus, "Can you lock up?"
"Yeah." Gus said.
"Bye Gus. I'll see you later."
"Bye Juliet."
Juliet left the Psych office and headed home.
15 minutes later, Juliet pulled in the garage and went inside and saw all the presents in the front bedroom. She walked further in the house and saw Shawn passed out on the couch.
Juliet smiled to herself and bent down and ran her thumb under his eye.
Shawn opened one eye and smiled when he saw Juliet.
"Hi." Juliet whispered.
"Hey. Go get on your pajamas and come nap with me." Shawn whispered.
Juliet nodded.
Juliet went to the bedroom and quickly changed. She put her hair up in a messy bun and walked out to the living room and laid down next to Shawn on the couch.
Shawn wrapped his arm around Juliet's waist and kissed her behind the ear.
"Thank you baby." Shawn whispered.
"You like the frame?" Juliet asked.
"Yeah, I love it. Thanks for the little party."
"You're welcome. I wonder how my mother got here."
"I have no idea, but we will find out tomorrow."
"Sounds good."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Juliet turned her head and gave Shawn a deep kiss and then turned back around and curled into him even more.
