Baby Shower Time
Shawn and Juliet's House
It was the day of the baby shower and Juliet got up and started cooking breakfast for her and Shawn.
Shawn felt Juliet get out of bed. He got out of bed and put some pants on and walked out to the kitchen.
"Good morning." Shawn said.
"Good morning. How are you?" Juliet asked.
"Good. Are you excited?"
"I am. Are you sure you don't mind having it here at the house? I know it's Saturday and your day off."
"Jules, this is our baby. I want to be involved in everything."
Juliet gave Shawn a kiss and turned back around and flipped the pancakes.
"What time are people getting here?" Shawn asked.
"1-ish." Juliet said.
"It's 11 now."
"Good job."
"Jules…"
"I'm picking on you. To answer your question, no we cannot."
"How'd you know I was going to ask that?"
Juliet pulled the skillet off the burner and turned the stove off. She walked into the living room and sat on Shawn's lap.
"I know you Shawn Spencer. If we had gotten up earlier, then maybe." Juliet answered.
Shawn pouted.
Juliet smiled and gave him a kiss then went back in the kitchen to finish breakfast.
Shawn got off the couch and went and took a shower and got dressed.
"Babe! Breakfast is ready!" Juliet called out.
Shawn came down the hall in a pink shirt and jeans.
"You look nice. Where'd you get the pink shirt?" Juliet asked.
"The mall." Shawn said.
"You went to the mall?"
"Yeah. Gus had to drag me there, but yes."
"Remind me to thank him."
"Haha."
Shawn fixed his plate and sat down next to Juliet.
The next 15 minutes were filled with them laughing and catching up on the week's events.
Juliet was done with her plate, she put it in the sink and went and took a shower.
12:15
It was 12:15 and Juliet came down the hall wearing a pink dress and some tan sandals.
"My baby momma is hot." Shawn said.
"Your what?" Juliet fussed.
"My wife."
"Nice save."
"Thank you."
Juliet cleaned up the living room and the kitchen until Shawn stopped her.
"Juliet, you need to go sit." Shawn said.
"But the house isn't clean yet." Juliet fussed.
"Jules, this house is spotless. Stop worrying."
Juliet caved in and went and sat on the couch with Shawn and finished watching whatever movie he was watching.
1:15
It was 1:15 and the first guest to arrive was Karen.
Juliet opened the door and let Karen inside.
"Sorry I'm late. I got busy cleaning house." Karen apologized.
"Oh don't worry. Shawn had to make me stop cleaning." Juliet said.
Karen and Juliet walked through the foyer and saw Shawn watching TV.
"Mr. Spencer." Karen greeted.
"Hey Chief." Shawn greeted.
"Where do you two want presents?"
"Right behind those two chairs."
Karen walked over to the right corner of the living room and put the present down next to the chairs.
A few minutes later and everyone had arrived.
Shawn went over to Juliet and hugged her, "This is awesome."
"You think?" Juliet asked.
"Yeah. Look everyone we love and care about are here. Even Lassie."
"I'm 99% sure Marlowe made him come."
"But still, he's here."
Maddie saw Shawn and Juliet talking and went over to them.
"Hello you two." Maddie said.
"Hey mom." Shawn said.
"What are you two doing?"
"Talking."
"Very closely."
Shawn looked at Juliet and smiled at the memory of their 'Very Close Talking' encounter years ago.
"I should've made that mistake a long time ago." Juliet whispered.
Shawn heard her whisper and nodded, "I agree."
Juliet laughed.
"So what's up mom?" Shawn asked.
"Are you two ready for presents?" Maddie asked.
"Babe?" Juliet asked.
Before Juliet could say the word, Shawn was already in his chair with one box already on his lap.
"I guess it's time for presents." Juliet said.
Maddie looked at Juliet and laughed, "Let's go."
Everyone turned their attention to the expecting couple.
Juliet opened the first box and saw pacifiers and a couple of cloths from Henry.
Shawn opened the next present and got a big box of diapers and wipes.
Carlton laughed, "You would open the box with the diapers in it."
Shawn fake laughed.
"Oh and by the way, that's from me and Marlowe." Carlton added.
"Thanks, Lassie." Shawn said.
About an hour of opening presents went by and Juliet got tired all of a sudden.
Juliet leaned over to Shawn, "I just got really tired all of a sudden."
"You want to end it now?" Shawn asked.
"Do you mind?"
"Not at all."
Shawn got up and went talked to Karen.
"What's wrong with her?" Karen asked.
"She just got really tired all of a sudden." Shawn said.
"Ok, well I'll wrap this thing up, you take her to the bedroom."
"Thank you."
Shawn went over to Juliet and grabbed her hand and walked her to the bedroom.
Shawn opened the bedroom door and carried Juliet over to the bed. Before setting Juliet on the bed, he pulled the covers back in case she was cold.
Juliet got on the bed and looked at Shawn, "Thank you for taking such good care of me."
Shawn bent down, "I love taking care of you. I'll get Karen to write down who got us what and I'll draft up some thank you notes."
"Did Shawn Spencer just say he is doing thank you notes?"
"Yes he did."
"Aw my baby. 6 months in our marriage and you finally are doing thank you notes. I'm so proud of you."
Shawn laughed, "Thanks Jules. Call me if you need anything."
"Will do."
Shawn bent down and kissed Juliet. He walked out of the room and shut the door and went back into the living room and saw Karen sitting at the counter writing in her book.
"Thank you." Shawn said.
"Of course. How is she?" Karen asked.
"Tired. I think her case load this week is finally catching up to her."
"I think so too. Has she decided how long she is going to be on leave?"
"Not yet. We haven't gotten to that conversation just yet."
"That's going to be a fun one."
"Thanks."
"What are your plans?"
"I have no idea. I need to take on some more private cases, so I can stow that cash away in the bank."
"Is money tight?"
"Far from it. I know Jules like a little cushion in there."
"Is that how you could afford taking off the rest of the year after the wedding?"
Shawn nodded.
"You had to have at least 20,000 in there."
"Something along that route."
"But you're safe money wise right?"
"We are very secure. I'm going to work private cases up until she takes leave. If you guys need my help I will still help, but not as often."
"That sounds fair. Juliet's going to miss the hell out of you though."
"Believe me, I'm going to miss her much more."
Karen smiled.
"Well, here is the list and address of everyone who came and what they brought as a present. You two enjoy the rest of your weekend." Karen said.
Karen grabbed her purse and headed for the front door.
"Thank you, Karen. I know Jules appreciates it and I do." Shawn said.
"Of course. Call me if something happens."
"Will do."
Karen walked out of the house.
Shawn went behind Karen and locked up. Once he locked up he went into the bedroom and climbed in bed with Juliet.
"Is everyone gone?" Juliet whispered.
"Yeah." Shawn whispered.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. I love you."
"I love you too."
Shawn pulled Juliet closer to him and kissed her behind the ear.
"Let's nap." Juliet said.
"Don't have to tell me twice." Shawn said.
Juliet laughed and curled into Shawn more and fell back asleep.
