Juliet's First Day Back at Work
Spencer House
Juliet walked around the house in her heels trying to get everything ready for work.
Shawn was on the couch with the baby watching his wife frantically get ready for work.
Shawn got up and put 3-month old Natalie in her bouncy seat and got in front of Juliet and grabbed her shoulders.
"Jules, calm down." Shawn said.
"It's my first day back and I need to make sure everything is good here." Juliet said.
Shawn slid his hands down Juliet's arm and grabbed her hands, "Jules, I've got it under control."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. You pumped enough for today and you have written everything down for me."
"Will you read it?"
"Yes, I will. Now go and enjoy your day. I love you."
"I love you too."
Shawn walked Juliet to the door and gave her a kiss on the way out.
"Wait, I have to say bye to my baby." Juliet said.
Shawn moved out of the way and let Juliet go say bye to Natalie.
Juliet walked over to Natalie and picked her up, "Oh my sweet baby, I can't believe we've spent everyday together for the last 3 months. I know you and daddy are going to have an amazing day together. I love you baby girl."
Juliet kissed Natalie on the side of her head and handed her to Shawn.
"I love you. Have a good day. I'll text you pictures." Shawn said.
"Ok. I love you too." Juliet said.
Juliet kissed Shawn and walked out of the house.
Shawn walked out with Juliet and waved at her down the driveway.
Juliet got out of the driveway and drove off to the station.
Shawn walked back inside, "Well baby girl, what do you want to do?"
Natalie looked up at Shawn with her crystal blue eyes and smiled.
"Ok, how about we watch cartoons until lunch and go visit momma at work." Shawn said.
SBPD
Juliet walked in the SBPD for the first time in 3 months.
Karen was at her desk waiting on her with a smile.
"Welcome back." Karen said.
"Hi." Juliet said.
"How are you feeling?"
"Good. I miss those two so much already."
"I know you do."
"What do you got for me?"
"No field work yet, but look at these files and fill me in with what you see."
"Thank you."
"Of course."
Karen walked off and went back to her office.
Juliet sat down at her desk and found a card on her desk.
Juliet opened the card and saw, "Welcome back, congratulations on your baby." -Declan
Juliet got up from her desk and went into Karen's office without knocking.
"What's wrong?" Karen asked.
Karen threw the card down on her desk.
Karen read the card and looked at Juliet.
"How did that get here?" Juliet asked.
"It must have came in the mail." Karen said.
"You didn't look at it?"
"No, it had your name on it."
"How did he know that I had the baby?"
"I don't know."
"I need to know how he found out."
"Juliet, breathe. I will take care of it."
"Please. This is the last thing I need today."
"Ok. Give me the card and go back to work."
Juliet gave Karen the card and walked back to her desk.
12:30 PM
It was lunch time and Shawn got up and got dressed and got Natalie dressed. He put Natalie in her seat and left the house.
Shawn got in his car and drove to Walgreens. He got to Walgreens and grabbed the baby and went inside and got Juliet a bouquet of roses. He paid for them and went back out to his car and drove to the SBPD.
SBPD
Shawn pulled into the SBPD parking lot and got out. He went to Natalie and grabbed her seat and grabbed the flowers.
"Are you ready to go see mommy?" Shawn asked.
Natalie laughed and waved her fists.
"You know what? Let's take you out of your seat and we'll go just like that."
Shawn took Natalie out of her seat, grabbed her diaper bag, and the flowers and headed into the SBPD.
Shawn walked into the station and walked to Juliet's desk.
Juliet was immersed in her paperwork and didn't see Shawn at her desk.
Shawn put the flowers on her desk.
Juliet saw flowers on her desk, she looked up and saw her husband carrying her baby.
"Hey." Shawn said.
Juliet got up and gave Shawn a kiss, "Hey. I missed you."
"We missed you too. I think I've seen enough Paw Patrol for the next century." Shawn said.
Juliet laughed.
Juliet grabbed Natalie out of Shawn's arms and sat down with her.
"Hello momma's baby. I missed you." Juliet said.
Natalie smiled and laughed.
Shawn sat down and grabbed Juliet's hand.
"How has your day been?" Shawn asked.
"Busy. Been looking at files all day. How has your day been?" Juliet asked.
"Boring. I love her to death, but I miss running after crazy people."
"Well can you wait a month or so?"
"You decided you're going back in the field?"
"Yeah. I miss it too."
"Well every field case I'm tagging along."
"How is that different from any other case?"
Shawn laughed, "You're right."
Juliet sat back and put Natalie on her chest and sighed.
"What's on your mind?" Shawn asked.
"Have you put any thought to who Natalie's godparents are?" Juliet asked.
"I figured Karen and Gus."
"Carlton came to me at the little shower we had at the Psych office and said that he wanted to be Nat's godfather."
"Lassie said that?"
Juliet nodded.
"I'm cool with that."
"How do you think Gus is going to feel?"
"I'll break it to him."
"Let me know how that goes."
"Do you want to ask Lassie and Karen now?"
"I'm cool with that."
Shawn and Juliet got up and walked over to Karen's office.
Shawn walked into Karen's office.
Karen looked up, "Mr. Spencer…"
Juliet walked in holding Natalie.
"And Natalie!" Karen squealed.
"Shhhh. She's sleeping." Juliet whispered.
Karen rubbed her hand over Natalie's back.
"Can you call Carlton in here?" Juliet asked.
"Sure." Karen said.
Karen called Lassiter to her office.
Carlton entered Karen's office.
"You rang?" Carlton asked.
"Yes." Karen said.
Shawn and Juliet looked at Carlton and Karen.
"What are you two looking at?" Karen asked.
"Sit down, both of you." Juliet said.
Karen got out of her office chair and sat down in the chair next to Lassiter.
"What do you want, Spencer?" Carlton asked.
"We want to ask you both this question." Shawn said.
"Go on."
"Shawn and I were wondering if you two would like to be Natalie's godparents." Juliet aid.
"I would be honored." Karen said.
"Lassie?" Shawn asked.
"You want me to be in charge of that little baby in your arms if something happens to the both of you?" Carlton asked.
"Yes." Juliet said.
"Are you sure?"
"100%." Shawn said.
"Well in that case, I would be honored." Carlton said.
Karen got up and hugged Shawn and Juliet.
Carlton got up and hugged Juliet.
"She's a good little nugget. Are you sure she's Spencer's?" Carlton asked.
"I know she looks exactly like me, but her personality is all Shawn." Juliet said.
Shawn grabbed Natalie from Juliet and held her up in front of Carlton.
"I know you hate my daddy, but he's the best daddy in the world. We eat snacks all day, watch 80s movies, and we talk about how much we love mommy." Shawn said in a squeaky voice.
Juliet laughed.
"That's what you do all day?" Carlton asked.
"Yes. And when mommy gets home she comes and gives us kisses and snuggles." Shawn continued.
Juliet leaned into Shawn.
Juliet looked at her watch and turned to Shawn, "I'm sorry to send you two off, but if I get this packet done in the next hour I can get out of here."
"Ok. Sounds good. Natalie, say bye to mommy." Shawn said.
Juliet grabbed Nat and held her close to her face, "I love you so much baby girl. Enjoy your day with daddy. I promise when I get home we will have Tummy Time and a bottle."
Natalie laughed and giggled which made everyone in the room laugh.
Shawn took Natalie back and kissed Juliet, "I love you."
Shawn and Juliet left Karen's office and went back to her desk.
"Can I join you two for Tummy Time?" Shawn whispered.
"Of course. I love. you. Text me when you get home." Juliet said.
"Always. I love you too."
Shawn kissed Juliet and grabbed Natalie's diaper bag and walked out of the station.
2 Hours Later
2 hours later, Juliet got home and went inside and heard Shawn and Natalie laughing. She turned the corner and saw Shawn tickling Nat.
"Hello you two." Juliet said.
Shawn's head popped up and his eyes met with Juliet's.
"Natalie, look who's home." Shawn said.
Juliet got down on her knees and crawled to Natalie on the ground. She got up to Natalie and gave her kisses.
"Hello my little angel. Did you have fun with daddy today?" Juliet asked.
Shawn pulled Juliet over to him and kissed her.
"Hello my angel. How was work?" Shawn asked.
"You know, I had a guest at lunch who made my day pretty great." Juliet said.
"Oh yeah? Must've been someone special."
"I think his name was Something Spencer…"
"Oh yeah, I know that guy. He's married to that hottie Juliet Spencer."
"Hottie?"
"Oh sweetheart, you will always be a hottie."
"Even after I had a baby."
"Especially after you had OUR baby."
Juliet wrapped her arms around Shawn's neck and kissed him deeply.
"I missed you." Shawn whispered.
"I missed you too." Juliet whispered.
While Shawn and Juliet were kissing Natalie started crying.
Juliet pulled away from Shawn and picked up Natalie off the floor, "Hey precious. What's wrong?" Juliet asked.
"She's been pulling at her mouth all day." Shawn said.
"And you just now mention this to me?"
"I thought she was hungry."
Juliet ran her finger across Natalie's gums and gasped.
"What's wrong with her?" Shawn asked.
"She's cutting a tooth." Juliet pouted.
Shawn ran his finger over Nat's gums like Juliet did.
Juliet put Natalie's head on her shoulder, "Oh my baby, you hav your first tooth coming in."
"Why are you growing up so fast, baby girl?" Shawn asked.
Juliet looked at Shawn with tears in her eyes, "Shawn, how do you stop our baby from growing up too fast?"
"Oh sweetie when you find the answer let me know." Shawn said.
"Now we got to go buy teething rings and stuff."
Juliet leaned her head on Shawn's shoulder, "I want another one."
"What?" Shawn asked.
"I want another one of these."
"Baby are you sure?"
"Not at this exact moment, but down the road maybe a year can we have this conversation again?"
"We sure can."
Juliet turned her head and kissed Shawn.
"Now what's for dinner?" Shawn asked.
"We have breast milk." Juliet said.
"Tempting. Can we get takeout?"
"Absolutely. Go call and order and I'll be here on the ground with our growing child."
Shawn laughed. He got up and called the restaurant and ordered their food.
20 minutes later the doorbell rang and Shawn got up and got the food and tipped the driver.
"Dinner is here." Shawn said.
Shawn put the food on the table and went and got Juliet.
"Baby, dinner is ready." Shawn said.
Juliet got up and picked up Natalie and put her in her Bumbo chair on the table.
Shawn put food on their plates and brought them to the table.
"We have a guest tonight." Shawn said.
"She told me she wanted to sit with the grownups tonight." Juliet said.
"Just for tonight?"
"She may have mentioned the word forever."
"I would love to have my little girl sit with us at dinner for the rest of our lives."
Shawn and Juliet ate dinner and in the middle of dinner Natalie wanted to eat.
Juliet finished her food and got up and took Natalie and went and sat down on the couch to feed her.
Shawn finished his food and cleaned up the kitchen and went and sat down on the couch with his girls.
About 45 minutes later Natalie was falling asleep in Juliet's arms.
"She needs a bath before she falls asleep." Juliet said.
"I got it. Go get ready for bed." Shawn said.
"Thank you."
Shawn grabbed Natalie and went to the front bathroom and started running water for a bath.
The bath water was warm and Shawn put Natalie in her little baby tub and started bathing her.
When Shawn put the wet washrag on Natalie she started to fuss.
"Oh my sweet little girl, it is just water. You are fine." Shawn said.
Juliet giggled behind him.
"Enjoying this?" Shawn asked.
"Immensely." Juliet said.
"Do you have a towel for her?"
"Yes. Now give me the clean baby."
Shawn switched spots with Juliet and went to the bedroom and got ready for bed.
A few minutes later and Juliet walked in the bedroom with a sleeping Natalie.
"Can she sleep with us tonight?" Shawn asked.
"No. She's out cold." Juliet said.
"Fine then you have to cuddle tonight."
"Fair trade."
Juliet put Natalie in her playpen and got in bed with Shawn.
Shawn pulled Juliet closer, "I miss just 'us'."
"You want to go out?" Juliet asked.
"I mean we're kinda married."
"Not that you, goof. Want to have a date night?"
"I will never say no to a night out with my favorite wife."
"I better be your only wife."
"First and last."
"I love it."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Shawn kissed Juliet and rolled over and turned out the lamp and curled back up and went to sleep.
