Shawn and Juliet's 1st Anniversary

Shawn rolled over at 7:15 on Sunday morning and saw Juliet still sleeping. He slipped out of bed and went and grabbed Natalie and left Juliet to sleep a little longer.
Shawn walked out of the bedroom and into Natalie's room to change her. He left her room and went to the kitchen and took a bottle out of the fridge and put it in the microwave for 15 seconds to heat it up.
Natalie's bottle was done and Shawn ran over to the microwave and grabbed it and walked over to the couch and started to feed Natalie.
Natalie looked up at Shawn the entire time he fed her.
"What are you looking at, silly girl?" Shawn asked.
Natalie pulled away from the bottle and Shawn burped her.
Shawn went to Natalie's room and got her dressed for the day. He went to her dresser and got baby leggings and a blue shirt and her UGG boots.
Shawn stood Natalie up and held her fingers as she bounced up and down on the table.
"You're adorable." Shawn said.
"I know." Juliet said.
Shawn put Natalie on his hip and turned around and saw Juliet leaning against the doorframe.
"What are you doing up?" Shawn asked.
"My cuddle buddy was gone." Juliet answered.
Shawn walked over to Juliet and gave her a kiss.
"Good morning, sweetheart." Shawn said.
"Good morning. Is she taken care of?" Juliet asked.
"Yes. Changed, fed, and dressed."
"Wow and she looks cute."
"Thank you."
Shawn left Natalie's room and walked out into the living room and put Natalie on the floor on her play mat.
Juliet walked over to Shawn and hugged him.
"What do you have planned today?" Juliet asked.
"Sitting around the house and then later tonight, Karen is coming over to watch Nat while we go out for our anniversary dinner." Shawn said.
"Ooh, where are we going?"
"Not telling."
"Fine."
Shawn smiled and pulled Juliet closer, "Happy Anniversary, Juliet."
Juliet wrapped her arms around Shawn's neck, "Happy Anniversary, Shawn."
Shawn bent down and kissed Juliet.
Juliet pulled away and put her head on his chest.
"We made it to the first year of marriage." Shawn said.
"We did. We also had a little girl during that time." Juliet said.
"She's the best."
"She is."
"She's being really quiet. Go check on her."
Juliet got out of Shawn's arms and walked over to Natalie and saw her passed out with the stuffed elephant that Juliet got her a while back.
"Shawn." Juliet whispered.
Shawn left the kitchen and went over to Juliet and saw his girl passed out on her play mat. He grabbed his phone and took a few pictures of her and showed them to Juliet.
"We did good, Jules." Shawn said.
"We did. She's starting to act like you more and more." Juliet said.
"I know. I don't know how I feel about that."
"Why?"
"Jules, I was a very hyperactive child."
"When I say act like you, I mean mannerisms. She has my calm demeanor."
"Oh."
"Yeah, but you, you are perfect."
"Really?"
"Yeah, we have a kid. Soon she's going to start crawling and she will need someone to keep up with her."
"You can keep up with her too."
"You're exactly right, but it's kinda hot when you get on the floor and play with her."
Shawn smirked.
"What do you think about getting a dog?" Shawn asked.
"Excuse me?" Juliet asked.
"In a few months, when she's up and crawling can we get a dog?"
"Where is this coming from?"
"Well I do want her to have a sibling, but I know you're not ready to have another baby."
"I want her to have one too, but are you sure we can handle a dog in a few months?"
"We can't know unless we do it."
"We're about to go back in the field."
"Jules can you just think about it?"
"Of course."
Shawn was lying on the floor with Natalie and the doorbell rang.
Juliet looked at the camera and saw Maddie at the door.
Juliet got up and went and let Maddie in.
"Good morning." Juliet said.
"Good morning. Happy Anniversary." Maddie said.
"Thank you."
"Is my son up yet?"
"He's in the living room with the baby."
Maddie and Juliet walked through the foyer and saw Shawn with his eyes close and his arm over Natalie.
Juliet walked over to Shawn and knelt down and whispered, "Hey your mom is here."
Shawn stretched and saw his mom, "Hey mom. What are you doing here?"
"I was out running errands and wanted to come see my little love bug." Maddie said.
"Well your love bug is asleep."
"That doesn't mean I can't hold her."
"Fine."
Shawn rolled his eyes and picked Natalie up and handed her to Maddie.
Maddie took Nat from Shawn and went into the kitchen to talk to Juliet.
"What are you two doing for your anniversary?" Maddie asked.
"Sitting around the house with Nat today and then tonight, Karen is coming over and watching her while Shawn and I go out for dinner."
"Where are y'all going?"
"I have no idea. He's being very secretive today."
"I bet he has the best night planned for you guys."
"I will definitely let you know."
Maddie smiled.
Natalie started to fuss and Maddie handed her back to Juliet.
Juliet took Natalie and Natalie put her head in the crook of Juliet's neck.
Juliet trend her head and gave Natalie a kiss on her head and closed her eyes.
"How's work?" Maddie asked.
"I went back a week ago and it's been great. We start field work in a couple of weeks."
"Who is watching Natalie?"
"Can you come over and watch her?"
"Yeah."
"Shawn wants to get a dog."
"Really?"
"Yeah. He said that he wanted Nat to have a sibling and he knows I'm not ready to have another baby."
"Well what did you tell him?"
"I told him I was going to think on it."
"I think a dog would be good, especially with this little one crawling in a few months."
"That was his exact argument."
Maddie smiled.
"Did Shawn tell you that she has her first tooth cutting?" Juliet asked.
"No. Does she really?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah. It started cutting on my first day back at work."
"Goodness."
"I know she's getting so big."
"How does that make you feel?"
"I told Shawn I wanted another one."
"Another baby?"
"Yeah, but I told him that we would circle back to the conversation in about a year."
Shawn walked into the kitchen where his mom and Juliet were talking.
"Baby are you cooking breakfast today?" Juliet asked.
"Depends. What do you want for breakfast?" Shawn asked.
"Pancakes."
"Then yes, I'm cooking breakfast. Do you want to throw some bacon in there?"
"A few slices."
Shawn kissed Juliet and moved into the kitchen to start cooking.
Maddie started to get her purse and getting ready to go.
"You leaving mom?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah. I'll talk to you tomorrow." Maddie said.
Juliet walked Maddie out.
"Juliet, you two enjoy your anniversary." Maddie said.
"I'm sure we will." Juliet said.
Maddie left the Spencer house.
Juliet shut the door and walked back into the kitchen and sat at the counter and talked to Shawn.
"That was weird." Shawn said.
"What was?" Juliet asked.
"My mom popping up out of nowhere."
"That was odd. She told us to enjoy our night tonight."
"That was sweet of her."
Shawn spent 5 more minutes on breakfast and then plated it for him and Juliet.
Juliet looked at Natalie and saw her sleeping.
"I'm going to go put her down and then I'll come eat." Juliet said.
Shawn nodded.
Juliet walked to the bedroom and put Natalie in the middle of her and Shawn's bed. She put pillows around her and set up the video monitor to watch her.
Juliet walked back into the kitchen and sat down at the table with Shawn.
"She's out?" Shawn asked.
"Yep. I don't want her to sleep all day." Juliet said.
"Why not?"
"We're going to be gone the majority of the night and I don't want to keep Karen busy with her."
"You know Karen does not mind sitting with Nat."
"I know, but I want her to relax as well."
"I get it."
Shawn and Juliet ate in comfortable silence.
Juliet finished her breakfast and put her plate to the side and looked at Shawn.
"What's with the look?" Shawn asked.
"Nothing. Do you think Karen would mind staying with Natalie tonight?" Juliet asked.
"As in all night?"
Juliet nodded.
"Why?"
Juliet gave Shawn a look and he put it together.
"Are you sure?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah." Juliet said.
"Jules I don't want to hurt you."
"Shawn, I had the baby 3 months ago. I told you that I would tell you when I'm ready."
"Ok. Yeah, I'll go book a room when we get done."
Juliet got up and walked over to Shawn and kissed his cheek, "You're the best."
Shawn smiled, "I try."
Shawn pushed his plate to the middle of the table and stood up and pulled Juliet into his arms.
Shawn wrapped his arms around Juliet's waist and started to sway in place.
"I like this." Shawn whispered.
"What dancing?" Juliet asked.
"There's just something about just us two without other people around."
"What about the baby?"
"Juliet, you know I love our girl, but you're my first girl and I would do anything to have alone time with you."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Juliet kissed Shawn and pulled away and began to gather the dishes.
Shawn stopped her, "Mrs. Spencer, go sit down right now."
"I want to help." Juliet said.
"I understand that, but it's your anniversary."
"It's your's too."
"Just go sit down, woman."
Juliet laughed and went and sat down.
15 minutes later Shawn finished in the kitchen and went and woke up Natalie.
"Nat, you got to wake up." Shawn whispered.
Shawn picked up Natalie and brought her to her room and changed her.
After Natalie was changed, Shawn brought her to the living room and sat down on the couch next to Juliet.
Juliet saw Shawn holding her baby girl who was sleeping.
"I tried to wake her up." Shawn said.
"What time are we going out?" Juliet asked.
"6."
"It's 9 now, so give her a little more nap time."
"Yes ma'am."
Shawn sat down on the couch and held Natalie close and pulled Juliet to his side.
Shawn sighed.
"What's wrong?" Juliet asked.
"Everything is perfect." Shawn whispered.
"How so?"
"I have you, my beautiful wife, and our 3-month old. It just feels right."
"It does."
Shawn and Juliet sat around the house and watched TV until about 4:30.

It was 4:30 and Shawn got up and went and got Natalie a bottle.
Juliet walked in the living room and saw Shawn in the kitchen heating up a bottle.
"Do you want me to feed her?" Juliet asked.
"No. How much milk do we have in the fridge?" Shawn asked.
Juliet opened the fridge and saw 9 bottles of milk in the fridge.
"We have 9 bottles. That would give us a day and a half." Juliet said.
"So, you would need to pump as soon as we get home tomorrow then right?"
"Yeah."
"Ok, but we should be good for the rest of the day?"
"Yeah, but I did get a container of formula just in case."
The bottle was ready and Shawn got it out of the bottle heater and went into the living room and fed Natalie.
"While you are doing that, I'm going to take a shower." Juliet said.
"Ok." Shawn said.
Juliet left the living room and went and took a shower.
Shawn fed Natalie and burped her.
Once Natalie was done eating, Shawn picked her up and went into the front bathroom and started to get a bath ready.
Shawn ran to Natalie's room and grabbed a fresh diaper and a pair of pajamas. He walked back into the bathroom and started to bathe Natalie.
Juliet got out of the shower and she heard Shawn talking to Natalie in his 8th grade Jules voice. She walked to the front bathroom and opened the door and saw Shawn bathing Nat.
Shawn saw the door open and he looked up and locked eyes with Juliet through the mirror.
"Hello." Shawn said.
"Hey." Juliet said.
"Good shower?"
"Yeah. What are you doing in here?"
"Bathing her. I want her to be ready for bed, so Karen doesn't have to do it."
Juliet smiled.
"Finish up with her and I'm going to dry my hair." Juliet said.
"Make sure it has those loose curls that I like." Shawn said.
"Of course."
Juliet left Shawn and went back to the bathroom and started on her hair. She got done with her hair and went to her closet and picked out an outfit for the night. She put on her outfit and went and grabbed her heels and put them by the door.
"Shawn!" Juliet yelled.
A few seconds later, Shawn showed up holding the baby.
"Yes?" Shawn asked.
"Take a shower. It's 5:15."
"Yes ma'am."
Shawn gave Juliet Natalie and went into the bathroom and started his shower.
Juliet went over to Shawn's t-shirt drawer and grabbed a button up shirt and put it over her top, so she didn't get it dirty.
Shawn took a 10 minute shower and got out and went and got dressed.
While Shawn got dressed, the doorbell rang.
Juliet got off the couch and went and opened the door. She opened the door and saw Karen.
"Hello." Karen said.
"Hey, you're early." Juliet said.
"It's 5:30."
"Oh shit. I ned to make sure Shawn is ready."
Karen held her hands out for Natalie.
Juliet gave Natalie to Karen and went to the back of the house and saw Shawn in the mirror fixing his hair.
"You almost ready?" Juliet asked.
"Yeah. I just need to put cologne on and go." Shawn said.
Shawn walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom and put on his watch and sprayed a little bit of cologne.
Juliet walked in the bathroom and fluffed her curls.
Shawn walked out of the bedroom and into the living room and saw Karen sitting on the couch.
"Well hello." Shawn said.
"Hello. You ready to go?" Karen asked.
"Indeed. Thank you for watching her for the night."
"You two deserve a night out and away from her."
"I love her to death, but I miss my wife a little bit."
Juliet walked down the hall and heard Shawn and Karen's conversation.
"It was Jules' idea to stay the night somewhere." Shawn said.
"Sure was. Now Shawn, do you have a night bag?" Juliet asked.
"No…"
"Go get one now. Just throw some sweatpants and a shirt in there."
"Ok."
Shawn ran to the bedroom and grabbed his backpack and put a pair of underwear, a shirt, and a pair of sweats in the bag and walked back out to the living room to get ready to go.
"Ready?" Juliet asked.
Shawn nodded, "I'm going to go start the car and put our bags in."
Juliet nodded.
Shawn went and started the car and put the bags in the car. He walked back inside and saw Juliet holding Natalie.
Shawn walked up behind Juliet and put his hand on Natalie's head.
"You be a good girl tonight, Nat." Juliet whispered.
"Yeah, what mom said. We love you little one." Shawn whispered.
Juliet kissed Nat on her head and Shawn gave Natalie a kiss as well.
Juliet handed Natalie back to Karen, "She has 9 bottles of milk in the fridge, she also has a container of formula just in case."
"Ok. Now go and enjoy your night." Karen said.
"Send us pictures please."
"Juliet, I have her. Now go."
Juliet nodded.
Shawn grabbed Juliet's hand and they walked to the car.
They got into the car and Shawn looked at Juliet, "She's going to be ok."
"I know, I just don't know how I feel about leaving her the entire night." Juliet said.
"We can come back home if you want."
"No, let's go enjoy our night."
"Ok."
Shawn drove down the driveway and he drove to the restaurant.
Shawn pulled into the parking lot and parked close to the door.
Juliet looked out the window and saw where she was.
"Is this the place where we had our first date?" Juliet asked.
"Yeah." Shawn said.
"We haven't been here in 5 years."
"I know, I thought it was time."
"I love you."
Shawn got out of the car and ran over to Juliet's side of the car and opened the door for her.
Juliet grabbed her purse and then grabbed Shawn's hand and walked into the restaurant.
The couple was greeted by the host, "Hi, how many tonight?"
"We had a reservation for Shawn Spencer." Shawn said.
The host found Shawn's name on the list, "Of course, follow me."
The host grabbed two menus and guided the couple to their table in the back corner of the restaurant.
They got to their table and Shawn pulled out Juliet's chair for her and pushed it back in when she sat down. He walked to his seat and sat down.
"Your waiter should be with you in a moment." the host said.
"Thanks." Shawn said.
Shawn turned to Juliet, "Happy Anniversary, baby."
"Happy Anniversary, Shawn." Juliet said.
"We have had a busy year."
"Especially the past few months."
"I wouldn't change anything."
"I wouldn't either."
"Christmas is coming up, what are we doing?"
"Want to head to Miami?"
"We can. I really want your grandparents."
"You will love them. The boys should be there too."
"Boys?"
"My bother and his boys, oh and his wife."
"How old are they?"
"Garrett is 14 and Riley is 11."
"How old is your brother?"
"32."
Shawn nodded.
The waiter walked up to them.
"Welcome, can I take your drinks?" the waiter asked.
"I'll have a water." Juliet said.
"Same for me." Shawn said.
"Are you two ready to order?" the waiter asked.
"I'm ready." Shawn said.
Juliet nodded.
"I would like the baked chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy as the side." Shawn said.
"I'll take grilled chicken salad with any vinaigrette as the dressing." Juliet said.
The waiter took their order and went back to the kitchen.
"A salad?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah. I'm not that hungry." Juliet said.
"You ate snacks today didn't you?"
"Yes."
"You didn't eat mine did you?"
"I had a few."
"You're lucky I love you."
"I know."
Shawn laughed.
The waiter came back a few minutes later with their waters and then walked back to the kitchen.
15 minutes later, the waiter brought out Shawn and Juliet's food to them.
"Thank you." Juliet said.
The waiter nodded and walked away.
"He's in a great mood." Shawn grumbled.
"Hush. He's probably had a rough day." Juliet said.
"You're right."
Shawn and Juliet ate their dinner and swapped stories about their relationship together.
"Do you remember 5 years ago?" Shawn asked.
"What about it?" Juliet asked.
"I made the best decision of my life."
"Did you?"
"Yeah, I finally kissed this girl who I was in love with for 5 years."
Juliet smiled, "I loved you too."
"Really?"
"Yeah. You were always going to win, Shawn. You know, I overheard your conversation with Gus after we got that spy."
"You did?"
"Yeah. When I heard it, I knew it was always going to be you."
Shawn smiled.
"And when you walked into Declan's house to tie up loose ends, I made up my mind. When you started giving me that speech about moments, I kissed you. It was the best thing I've ever done."
"What did Declan say?"
"I didn't tell him. I broke up with him as soon as you guys left and then hopped on the plane to Vancouver."
"Sweetheart…"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Shawn signaled for the check and the waiter brought it to him and Shawn had his card ready.
The waiter took Shawn's card and went and swiped it. He brought the check back and a pen.
Shawn signed it and left a tip and then offered Juliet his hand.
"Ready?" Shawn asked.
"Yep." Juliet said.
Juliet grabbed Shawn's hand and they walked out of the restaurant to their car.
"Hotel next?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah."
Shawn and Juliet got in the car and Shawn drove to The Four Seasons.
"You really booked The Four Seasons?" Juliet asked.
"Yeah, it's our anniversary." Shawn said.
Juliet smiled, "Thank you."
Shawn pulled into the parking lot and parked and grabbed both his bag and Juliet's and met Juliet inside.
"Hi there, Shawn Spencer." Shawn said.
"Alright, your room is 5050." the front desk agent said.
"Thank you."
Shawn took the key to the room and let Juliet lead the way.
They got to their room and Shawn opened the door and let Juliet in first before putting the bags by the door and shutting the door.
"This is amazing." Juliet said.
"You're amazing." Shawn said.
Juliet turned around, "Really?"
"Oh baby you are."
"Come here."
Shawn walked over to Juliet and Juliet pulled Shawn closer by his shirt and kissed him.
Shawn pulled away, "Now Jules, are you absolutely sure?"
Juliet looked Shawn in the eyes, "I am 100% sure. I miss you."
"Well in that case…"
Shawn picked Juliet up and threw her over his shoulder and marched to the bedroom and shut the door.
