"But what if it exists?" Ollie took out a key and unlocked a drawer from his desk. He took out a small white box and put it on top of his desk. Then, he put both hands on the sides of the drawer and with two thumbs from each hand he pressed a switch. They heard a little clicks, a hidden door opened revealing a dusty leather old journal.

Everyone's eyes grew big. Soon everyone started asking questions and some started fumbling with their smartphones.

"Whoa, can you do that again so I could make a video of it?" Kaizely asked.

"Ollie I didn't know your desk can do that, how long did you have it?" Zain asked.

Ollie took the journal and box. "Guys this is important," he said seriously, "A long time ago I found these with my-your-great grandmother." He opened the box, inside the box what looked like a small red jewel. "I think they are evidence to another planet."

Kaizely took the jewel out from the box and inspected it. It was round and flat, she turned it over in her hands and it reflected light. She tried to bend it, but it wouldn't bend. She frowned and passed it to Dallas.

"I also looked into this book and I could never read it," Ollie passed the book to Zain. He flipped through the pages of the book, "What is this?" He passed it to Jay.

Jay opened the book, it was old and the pages felt leathery and brittle. Inside was a strange script, he studied it very carefully. It was some sort of script, he frowned, it wasn't a language he was familiar with. "They look like scratches."

"Let me see it," Dallas gave him the jewel and took the book and looked inside of it. "I don't see any letters and it doesn't look like any kind of language I recognized. All I see were lines, circles and other squiggles. There are some word written in English like 'Salem' and 'witch hunt' written several times here and oh look." She pointed at one word, "Here is our last name."

"I guess all that time you spend translating those mangas paid off," Zain teased her. She swat him with her hand, but he managed to step back and avoid it.

Ollie nodded, "This book was actually a diary written by our ancestor, Chrystal, during 1692. She brought that with her when she came to New England."

Jay passed it to Zain, he inspected it under the light, "You know Ollie, if you take this to the jeweler, you could appraise it to find it's worth. I mean, you have a lot of cool stuff here that you could auction off on the internet."

"No thanks," Ollie said dryly, "I actually contacted someone to look into it and they did an analysis on it and," he hesitated.

"And what?" Zain asked, he passed the disk to Amy.

Amy studied it in her hand, it felt smooth and cool in her hand. It had an irregular pattern that looked like dark lines on it. Was it her imagination or did they started to move? She blinked. She turned it around, it was slightly curved and imperfectly round. The disk felt like it was thrumming on her skin as if it had a pulse.

"Only, it's not a rock or a mineral. It was more um, from an animal," she heard Ollie said, "a scale like a giant reptile."

Everyone gathered around Amy to study the scale.

"What of animal would make a scale that big?" Kaizely asked.

"Well judging by the size of it, bigger than the White House," Ollie said.

"Hey I know," Dallas said brightly, "it could be from a dragon. Since it's like a reptile."

"Or a giant snake," Zain added.

"We could build a model about it to see how big it was." Jay suggested.

As everyone was busy talking at once. Amy was feeling drawn towards the scale. It looked small but it was completely alienated from her world. She wondered how did their ancestor got it and what was the story behind this scale. She rubbed the scale between her thumbs absentmindedly. I wished I could have something to share. Jay has a lot of ideas and he is good a building things, Dallas helps everyone by tying loose ends, Zain has a good eye for filming and Kaizely is so artistic and pretty. She sighed, I wished I could find something that I am good with.

She didn't noticed the scale began to glow and feel warmer in her hands. She absentmindedly turned the disk in her hands. She tried to picture a dragon in her mind, but all she could think they looked like giant lizards.

She looked down at the scale. All their voices drone out of her mind. I wish I could be a dragon. Wouldn't it be cool if I could breathe fire or possess magic? Maybe both? She grinned at herself. Lost in her own fantasy world, she didn't noticed the scale was glowing brighter. I could be something else and nobody will recognize me, well except for Jay, she shrugged. But I wished we could do this somewhere else. Like going to a beach, but I wanted visit the mountain before I could spend time with Jay, Zain, Dallas and Kaizely in our own little world.

All of the sudden, a brilliant burst of bright white light exploded in the room. Amy screamed and covered her eyes. She heard everyone yelling and shouting and yelling all at once in surprised voices. In her vision, all she saw was a pure white world, then she saw her world was engulfed in darkness and her vision went black.

In her dark world, she thought she was falling and she felt something was hard and cool pressing her stomach and chest.

That's weird, she thought. Am I standing? Or lying down? Which is it?

She felt someone shaking her back. "Hey! Hey! Are you alright?"

Who is calling me? She wondered, Is that my conscious?

She felt something press against her nose and blew air into it. It felt hot and smelled like fruit. Mangos? Papayas? It smelled more like a fruit smoothie cooked into soup.

"HEY YOU! WAKE UUPP!" Another voice shouted in her ear.

Amy's eyes snapped up wide open and jerked her head up. She winced as she rubbed her ear. Hoping the ringing noise will go away. "Ow! My ear!"

"Kinkajou that's not how you treat a patient," the first voice scolded the second voice.

"Yeah, but she is awake right now. So that means she is fine Silky."

Amy saw she was in a cave with glass globes hanging from the celling, there was a doorway made up of one wall and she was on top of a smooth rocky edge and two creatures starring at her with curious eyes. They looked like lizards, except they have wings on their backs, their head are perfectly triangular, and their necks, bodies and tails were long, they have curved horns and ears under them, behind their ears were some sort of web frills. She realized they are dragons.

In the back of her mind, it was yelling at her to run away. But she grew up on the farm with her parents and they taught her the best way to handle aggressive animals and people was to stay quiet, act calmly and move slowly.

She couldn't help but watched them in fascination. What made them unusual was the colors of their skin. One was purple and yellow, while the other was a mix of banana yellow, dotted with raspberry pink. They were sitting on their hind quarters arguing and at the same time, the colors on their scales were changing patterns or different colors. The blue one was turning red as she was lecturing the other dragon.

Amy decided while they were distracted, she tried to inched her way towards the exit, but raspberry noticed her. "Oh look! She is awake!" She said brightly, her face changed into what seemed like a smile. "Hey, I'm Kinkajou and this here is Silky. What's your name?"

Amy flashed a nervous smile at her. "Oh um hi I'm um..." Our ancestor's name was Chrystal. A voice said in her mind. "Chrystal," she blurted out.

The dragons balked back in surprised at her outburst. Was it her imagination or did their colors moved?

"Chrystal, it's nice to meet you," Silky said politely. "Where are you from? We found you outside of our school when we were flying with our winglet. You were unconscious and so we brought you here. One of our teachers, Clay, checked on you and said you were fine."

"You did? Well thanks," she got up and looked down and to her horror, she saw two red talons in front of her.

The other dragons covered their ears from her shrill shriek. Their eyes widened in astonishment when she started to run around in circles and started bumping into the wall, she knocked down a rack of scrolls with her tail and her wing banged against a glass globe. Causing it to fall down on the ground and shatter into a million pieces.

Silky glanced at Kinkajou, "Should we stop her and calm her down?"

Kinkajou had a bemused look on her face, "I don't know, but she is interesting. Let's wait and see what will she do next." They heard another crash.

Silky glanced at the cave entrance anxiously, "I don't know, but if we don't do something now, she will get hurt."

They saw more faces started appearing at the entrance, curious to know what the commotion was all about. "Kinkajou do something!" Silky said frantically, "Before she hits her head again!"

Kinkajou sighed, "Kill joy," she murmured. Then she spread her wings open and jumped in front of the prancing dragon. "Hey Chrystal, stop!"

The red Skywing screeched into a halt in front of her. She looked around wildly around the room in confusion, "Huh? Who? Oh me!" She folded her wings, wrapped her tail around her talons and sat down with a wide eye look. Kinkajou giggled.

Amy tilted her head at her, "What is so funny?"

"You are!" Kinkajou burst out laughing, "You acted as if you never looked at a mirror before!"

Amy was indigent, "Yes I have and just in case you haven't been wondering, I do know what those things are." Then she paused. Hesitantly, she asked. "Do you have a mirror I could use?"
