Hello readers! This one may be a little rushed, so there may be some grammar mistakes here and there.

Besides that, I've almost got nothing to say as of right now, so I'll get started.

Emilia got discharged from the hospital. First, she visited Azusa, who was peacefully in a coma. Then, she visited her two friend's graves.

However, Emilia didn't return home. Emilia walked in district 7, holding a piece of paper. On the paper was an address; an address to her new "job".

The girl scratched her head in confusion. It should be here somewhere, maybe it's down the alleyway? From my experience in my previous life, delinquents like hanging out in alleyways. Is that guy even considered a delinquent? He's more like a-"

"SUCH MISFORTUNE!"

Emilia jerked her head to find a spiky haired boy running for his life from a group of delinquents. I should help him or something. I know this guy's pain. But why is he acting like this is a daily occurrence anyway?

Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around only to see the same man who visited her in the hospital. She held back her anger. Lashing out won't help. I'll avenge them later. The man gestured to her to follow him. She complied, following him inside the dark alleyway.

The two entered a surprisingly normal building, given its location.

"Hand me your phone" the man said, holding out his hand.

Emilia slowly gave him her phone. The man snatched it quickly, then brought it to a desk full of tools and a laptop.

While the man was busy tinkering with her phone, Emilia took the time to inspect the area she was in. From her experience with movies, the place would usually be worn down, drafty, damaged and abandoned.

The man got up and gave Emilia her phone back.

"I made some modifications to your phone. For one, you won't have to worry about getting tracked. After this mission, missions will be sent to you as text messages"

She inspected her phone a bit, then put it back in her pocket.

"Now, your first mission will be to eliminate this group" the man said, handing her a photo of a symbol.

"Everything else you need to know about is in the backside of the photo."

Emilia read the contents of the photo. Wait a minute. She looked at the man.

"By eliminating this group, you don't mean…" she trailed off.

"Yes" the man confirms.

Emilia sweat dropped. It shouldn't be that hard right? Considering how easily I died.

The man pointed at the bag on the table. "Everything you need will be in there."

The girl stood there. She then realized that this was her cue to leave.

She grabbed the bag and took out all the contents in the bag. A hoodie, a mask, and a dagger.

Emilia picked up the dagger and looked at the man with a confused face.

After what appears to be a few minutes of awkward silence, Emilia finally asked.

"Don't I get a gun or something?"

"Do you even know how to operate one?"

She frowned. The man was right; she never used a gun in real life before.

Emilia awkwardly put on the hoodie and the mask. Despite the fact that the man killed her friends, she was still nervous about what's to come. Who knows what will happen when you accept a job that includes killing over 20 people?

"Well, I'll take my leave now" she said leaving the building.

Emilia arrived in the area. I was an abandoned storage room that seemed to be a group of gangsters trading something. Each man wore hoods, hats, and sometimes even masks, so it was hard to make out what they looked like. She shut her eyes and sensed 19 people in the building. She pulled out her dagger and took deep breaths. She looked through the window to find that the men were armed.

Slowly, Emilia climbed the exterior ladder, and sat on the roof of the building, and continued to spy through the window. She waited to see if there would be any openings, but no luck. I'm going to have to somehow ambush them.

"Hey! What are you doing on the roof of our turf?"

That didn't last long.

The men pointed their rifles at the girl, and she jumped off the roof. Emilia found herself fleeing through an alleyway, and she realized that they would have a clear shot on her, so she made a quick turn to the left. She then iced the entrance, preventing the men from entering.

"He's an esper!" They shouted.

Emilia finally found herself in an open area with 10 other men. She looked around. No way out.

She put out her hand and flames began coming out, burning the group.

Screams came out including calls for help, and pleads of mercy. She sensed one heat signature coming from her flank, and she instinctively slashed her dagger towards it. She turned to see a dead man on her side, throat slit and blood everywhere.

Emilia hyperventilated. In front of her were so many dead bodies, so she took off her mask and threw up. She was mentally prepared for this, but it wasn't enough. She put he mask back on, then left the area avoiding any more eye contact with the dead people.

She came across the rest of the gang members.

"No way, don't tell me he defeated the rest of the members!"

The men fired at the girl.

Particles, slow down. Emilia created an ice wall as cover.

Of course, the wall didn't last long. When the wall broke down, she saw what appears to be a rocket launcher.

Emilia panicked. She didn't exactly know what the thing did, but she didn't want to find out.

PARTICLES, STOP! JUST STOP MOVING!

Emilia's eyes widened, realizing what she had done. No, wait!

It was too late. An iceberg about 100 feet appeared out of thin air, effectively freezing the remaining members. Emilia ran from the still growing solid nitrogen. Then, the iceberg suddenly disintegrated into the air.

Since the situation worked out, Emilia took a sigh of relief, took off her mask and walked back to the hideout before Anti-skill could piece it together.

Emilia thought about what she did in the first mission. She accidentally shrunk the temperature all the way down to absolute zero, by telling them the stop moving instead of slowing down.

What interested her the most was that instead of one area being absolute zero, the heat quickly rushed into the area, spreading the cold, resulting in the iceberg from before. Emilia usually uses her heat ability to prevent the ice from spreading as much, thus her ability to create custom shapes with her ice. So theoretically, Emilia should be able to use absolute zero to create walls, ramps, and shapes of ice up to 100 feet.

Emilia finally arrived back at the hideout and returned the hoodie, mask, and dagger.

"Keep it" the man said, without looking at her.

"As I said before, your next missions will be sent to you by text. You shouldn't get caught without that mask. You can always postpone your mission, but you are not to miss a mission at all."

"Oh, right" the man said, rolling his eyes. Then, he tossed Emilia a stack of money.

"500,000 yen, it's up to you how to spend it, be it for food, games, or your friend's hospital bills."

"That's enough, you may leave."

"By the way, what should I call you?"

The man paused, then said "just call me X."

Emilia nodded and silently left the alleyway and found herself back on the street of district 7. She went straight home, took a shower, and sank on her bed. Her school was cancelled due to the explosion, so she had almost nothing to do for half a year. At least Azusa is alive.

After that thought, Emilia slowly went to sleep.
