This one is very short and rushed. I spent more time trying to figure out a good idea than actually writing the story. I would prefer a chapter with bad text rather than a chapter with a bad plot. Sorry!

Emilia reached her hand out about to use her power.

She didn't have much time to think rationally, and the sheer panic that came to her mind took control. Calculating the trajectory of the falling pole was too much of a risk, so she needed to make an iceberg.

Wait, what am I doing!?

SMASH!

Emilia opened her eyes to find a robot-looking machine with dark red and pink markings on it, came out of nowhere to lift the light post and averted the disaster. Therestina saved her friends. (SIKE)

She gave a sigh of relief that her friends were safe. She sat on the ground, comprehending what were to happen if the machine didn't come to save them. She was breathing deeply, simply going with the flow, letting everything proceed smoothly.

In the aftermath of the earthquake, Mikoto, Kuroko, and Emilia met up with Therestina, who had just saved Kazari and Erii.

"Thank you for saving our friend." Mikoto said bowing. They three friends ran to the woman in the undershirt.

"I'm just glad they weren't injured." Therestina said with a sincere smile.

Emilia noticed that a few men were using tablets and such in front of the effect of the earthquake. Kuroko noticed this too, then decided to ask the woman about it. "By the way, what's going on over there?" She asked, pointing at the men. "Could they be measuring the AIM diffusion fields?"

"Were you able to detect any abnormalities in the field at MAR before this?" Kuroko asked further.

Geez, let her answer one of your questions.

Therestina frowned a little in response.

"Oh, it's just that you came here so quickly." Kuroko explained hurriedly.

There was a silent pause. "What's your name, kid?" Therestina asked.

Emilia gave a disgusted look and sighed. "This is leading nowhere. I'm going to bed." She turned around and walked back home, oblivious of her friend's reactions. She knew she should be thankful to her friend's savior, but something didn't feel right. It was a feeling that Emilia couldn't describe to herself. So she needed some time alone.

The next day wasn't much different.

"You're at the park with Haruue-san!? That's not fair! Why didn't you invite me?" Ruiko said on the phone.

In the same old Judgement branch office, Emilia finished up her work and grabbed her things to leave. She needed to temporarily distance herself from her friends to put things together.

"Finished already?" Mii asked, still facing the lunch table.

Emilia made a subtle humming sound.

Mii turned around to face Emilia. "Todoroki, I don't get what's the rush. I know I can't say anything now that you already did more than expected, but if there is anything on your chest, you can let it out anytime." Emilia turned around to see a concerned look on her senpai's face.

"I do have something I have to deal with myself. But I'd be wasting your time with a minor issue like this." Emilia said, then smiled slightly. "It's nothing grave, really."

Mii smiled back. "Alright then."

Emilia turned back around to walk back out the office. As she reached the plain street, she began to wonder to herself. She started to think about why she was feeling very uneasy. At first, she thought it was because she didn't have to complete missions in the dark side. However, Emilia knew that she probably wanted anything in the world but that. She considered the earthquakes next, but she deduced that it had nothing to do with that. Finally, she thought of the friends she had already. That was when she suddenly realized it. Azusa. I'm worried for her, and I haven't done anything yet.

"Hey!"

Emilia snapped out of it, and gazed towards the voice. It was Jason.

After a few minutes, the two judgement members decided to talk in a place where they can both sit down. That being a nearby restaurant that didn't have anything special about it. They both sat down, with a table holding two glasses of water in front of them.

"So, what do you want?" Emilia asked. For them to spend so much time settling in a restaurant, she knew the situation was serious.

"Okay. First of all, what happened to your arm?"

"Skill-Out."

"Second of all, were your eyes always blue?"

"Yes."

"Third of all, why haven't you been visiting me?"

"I couldn't care less about visiting you."

"Finally of all, do you want to work with me?"

"Absolutely not. Also, you should drop the 'of all' part."

"Hey! I thought it was cool." Jason said, crossing his arms. "But please, at least hear me out."

Emilia steadily looked at him in his eyes. She sighed and leaned closer. "Yeah?"

"I'm a little worried about the earthquakes. I was just hoping we could team up and find a lead for judgement."

"We're in different branches. Just work with your colleagues."

"I know, but I just…" Jason fumbled his words, he kept his mouth open.

"Want to know more about me?" Emilia finished, she already figured it out, judging by Jason's terrible lying skills.

Jason sighed and gave in. "Yes. I was just a skinny loser, bullied countless times. So I want to help those around me going through the same thing. That's why I joined judgement." He looked up to Emilia with fierce eyes. "To get stronger, and help more people!"

Emilia opened her mouth to talk, but Jason wasn't done.

"That's when he came. I was a hostage, Emilia! I was doing the opposite of what I wanted to do! It was because of me that the masked guy got away! You saw the news right?!" He began to spring tears and stood up. Emilia flinched in surprise from Jason's sudden movement.

"So please!" He cried as he performed a deep bow to Emilia.

Emilia looked around. Jason's outburst caused them to make a ruckus, getting a lot of looks from other customers. I guess I'm partially in fault too.

"Keep your head up, follow me." Emilia stood up from her seat and began to leave. Jason followed behind, wiping his tears.

After Emilia led the way for a bit, they found themselves in a lone alleyway. The particular alley for sketchy people, and it wasn't comforting for Jason. Emilia rolled her eyes looking at Jason's concern, and began to talk.

"Why do you have to be such a crybaby?"

"Huh?" Jason recoiled, confused with the sudden question.

"You do know that bullies will keep coming back if you act this way right?"

Jason's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"

"Because I would bully someone like you on a daily basis." Emilia jokes, giving a slight smile. She leaned back onto a brick wall, raising her arms so her head could rest on her palms. "Y'know, being skinny isn't a bad thing."

Jason stood there, and didn't say anything.

"Being good in a fight doesn't represent how hard you can punch someone." Emilia walked further into the alley, now facing Jason. She signaled Jason to come closer. "Why don't you try and attack me?"

"Why?"

"Just do it."

Jason hesitated, then charged forward, left arm raised. He swung his fist straightforward to hit Emilia in the face. However, to his surprise, she raised her casted right arm and had Jason hit her palm instead. Just as his fist touched Emilia's hand, she gently held the fist and pulled back her arm. She used the momentum created by Jason, and tripped him, making him stumble forward and fall, finally resulting in him being behind Emilia, on the ground.

Jason blinked. He knew Emilia was going to do something to counter, but he didn't expect her to use her broken right arm, of all things.

"You see how I used my broken arm? That proves that you don't need to be strong to be good in a fight. Kinetic energy is everywhere. If you can't make much of it yourself, you can use the kinetic energy around you. It's mostly given to you by your opponent themselves." Emilia said with a small wink.

After hearing Jason's silence, Emilia sighed. "In other words, you can use your surroundings and intellect. Usually when your opponent tries to punch you, you simply grab their fist, pull it backwards to cushion the impact, then trip them over."

"Why are you helping me? You said you couldn't care less about me."

"I don't know." Emilia said, about to walk out the alley. "How about we meet up sometime again, then I can train you or something. I'm not much of a teacher though."

Jason's eyes lit up. "Really? I'd love to."

"You know what? How about we start from today?"

Jason never thought that he'd lose very harshly by a girl. He never really judged his opponent by their gender, but he never thought that Emilia would beat him without breaking a single sweat.

After his outburst with Emilia, she took Jason to an abandoned warehouse. Though it was creepy, Jason did admit that it was the perfect training ground. Barely anyone was watching, and there are no obstacles to get in the way of the sparring. There were some boxes against the wall, the hanging light bulbs flicker as if they're almost out of life.

"Hey, are drop kicks the only move you know?" It was the 5th fight, and Emilia won once again, with Jason on the ground, scratched and sweating. "Seriously, you tried it at least once every fight."

Jason stood up and used his sleeves to wipe to sweat in his forehead. He stared at Emilia's unmoving face. "The Judgement fighting manual says that the drop kick is the most effective move for adults and youth who are moderately experienced in martial arts."

Emilia facepalmed, and Jason frowned in reply. "Is something to matter?" He asked cautiously. I don't want to offend her.

"You played rock, paper, scissors?" Emilia asked suddenly. "You can't be using the same move over and over. If you do, your opponent is going to catch on. Sure, it may work the most often, but when it comes to more cautious and smarter criminals, you have to mix it up a little."

Jason stood there, trying to understand what Emilia meant. I'm too predictable. That's what she's trying to say to me. He drew a deep breath, and exhaled.

"One more."
