"Woo-hoo!"
This was just another day in the life of Yuu Kannagi, the charismatic and supremely talented leader of the 1st Unit at the Far East Branch, someone who had led his team to triumph in a number of extremely dangerous operations, many of which threatened the existence of humanity. So today, after slicing open a few large aragamis, including a Dyaus Pita roaming around the old temple with minimum effort, the brunette leader was headed back to the Den-
On a fancy jeep he had snagged from Lindow, somewhat run down by years of use but Yuu was happy to push the piece of machinery to the limit, driving as fast as he could and with the grace of an irritated, rampaging rhino-
"Will you slow down?!"
His ever present partner, the vice leader of the 1st unit, Tamashiro Aki snapped from the other seat, her yell piercing through the usually quiet day outside of the wall because with the stupid amount of speed and the lack of driving skills, she had to cling onto her God Arc to not get knocked off the vehicle but despite her protests, Yuu had no intention of slowing down.
"Oh come on. I always wanted to drive," Yuu said after another surge of speed, smashing the girl back into the seat. "Let me have my fun!"
"This is drunk driving!" Aki cried.
Yuu shrugged off her complaints and focused back on digging the gas pedal all the way into the floor of the vehicle, letting out an amused chuckle when his body jerked in response and the engine roared like a goddamn Vajra-
"SLOW DOWN!"
Irritated himself from the constant shouting, Yuu mercifully eased up on the pedal and the speed lessened, enough that Aki gave a small sigh and plopped down on the seat, rubbing her aching head.
"You are such a killjoy," Yuu hissed, making a sharp turn to piss her off some more. "I should not have given you that burst bullet."
"I don't need your bullets to kill aragami," Aki snapped back, crossing her arms. Sure, she was the vice leader but her skills in combat rivaled Yuu's and the only reason he was elected as leader was of his 1 week old seniority. "In fact, your bullets and God Arc stink. Keep it away from me!"
The two glared at one another, fingers twitching and eyes locating their weapons for a showdown, until Aki sniggered and the two started laughing, with the boy getting a punch to his shoulder and the girl receiving a friendly slap on the back.
"You did great, partner,"
The two said in unison, congratulating each other for another flawless victory against a group of very dangerous aragamis. The two were that exceptional, and overtime, they had learned how to fight as an unparalleled unit, thanks to the powerful resonance phenomena which they had perfected to the point of activating the link of memories and emotions at will.
The two knew the strengths and flaws of each other in and out, from basic slashing skills to minute details like footwork and tendencies, which made them almost unbeatable in combat, which was why Hibari did not even bother resisting when they asked to take the mission alone as the entire Den knew what the two were capable of.
"You are getting rid of that overextending tendency," Yuu noted, not driving at a more controlled speed. "You actually faked that Borg and used it to your advantage, well done."
"Thanks, leader," Aki giggled. "And you have gotten better at shooting those bullets. Back then you were always so focused on just shooting and slashing."
"That's resonance for you," Yuu rubbed the back of his head. "Still another mission down in the history books, we'll be getting a nice reward from the old man."
"I can't wait," Aki said. "I need to craft a new gun; this one has been getting a bit rusty."
"I need to prepare a new scythe and control units. I think I'll go for the devour kit,"
As usual, the two began to talk and talk and talk about modification and upgrade of their arcs, as well as new battle plans and what they could improve in the next outing. Yuu was still driving at a moderate pace and was not too concerned as hardly anyone lived outside the wall and those who did made sure to not lurk about in the open due to the aragamis-
During her rambling, Aki caught someone in the middle of the road from the corner of her eyes which grew wide. She snapped her head forward to take a better look and yelled out loud-
"There is someone on the road!"
"Huh!?"
Yuu was surprised as well and he looked straight ahead, gasping when he caught someone standing in the way of his vehicle, which caused him to stomp on the brakes as hard as he could, his own head smashing into the steering well but thankfully, he managed to stop the car a few inches shy of a collision with-
Aki was panting, relieved that Yuu had not run over whoever was there but strangely, the person who was almost run over did not seem even a bit bothered and he still stood at the same place, merely glancing at them with his head tilted to the side-
"Are you okay?" Yuu said, standing up from the seat. It was strange and extremely unusual to see someone standing like in the open like that, with not a hint of fear.
The blue haired boy said nothing and just continued to gaze at them, making Aki somewhat comfortable-
"I'm fine," Minato replied somewhat stiffly, coughing slightly to clear his voice.
"What are you doing here?" Yuu asked, stepping out of the jeep to meet the boy. Upon closer inspection, he looked completely injury free, aside from some dirt on his clothes, which resembled a school uniform with an unknown crest. Moreover, the guy had an MP3 player and old fashioned headphones dangling off his neck.
Who the heck was this guy?
While Yuu was busy wondering where on earth he had gotten the music player and the school uniform, Aki was busy starting at his face, devoid of any sort of panic and confusion. He had striking yet cold silver eyes and a messy head of blue hair but there was something beside him appearance which made her swallow the lump in his throat.
Who the hell was this guy?
"I would like to know as well," Minato responded, snapping the two God Eaters from staring at him in wonder. "I woke up a while ago and found myself here."
Yuu blinked. That sounded like amnesia and possible brain damage as any normal person would be screaming after encountering an aragami and that brought up another question. How was the guy alive outside the wall?
"Do you remember anything?" Aki said from inside the vehicle.
"No," Minato shook his head, rubbing the back. "I might have hit my head somewhere because I truly cannot remember anything."
Yuu squinted, crossing his arms. There was some obvious bullshit going on but looking at the guy, he did not seem dangerous or even the least bit threatening. Not to mention, if he did attempt to attack, he would be no match for the biologically enhanced God Eaters.
"Do you know of Fenrir?" Yuu asked his next question, getting a frown from the blue haired teenager.
"I remember nothing, as I just said,"
Yuu sighed and rubbed his head. "Fine…." he contemplated for a few seconds about what to do. Usually, only people who had the compatibility to become a God Eater were allowed inside Fenrir but as influential as he was, he was allowed a few extra perks and if the guy had truly lost his memories, he had to help him, otherwise he would end up being a snack for the many aragamis roaming around the land. A sad demise.
"Very well," Yuu began to walk back. "Come with us, we'll take you somewhere safe and get you fixed up."
Minato said nothing but began follow him. He hopped onto the jeep and sat down, locking his gaze with the still surprised female until she broke contact and gulped. There was something truly wondrous and yet very strange about the new hitchhiker Yuu had invited in.
Yuu gave him one last glance and the blunette was completely relaxed, hands out in the open which meant he was not going to pull a gun on them. In fact, his posture told him that he was quite tired and had no intention of mugging or attacking them. With that, the leader of the Den flicked the ignition switch and they were off.
Yuu began to explain about the aragami, who they were and what Fenrir was all about. Aki piped in as at times, growing comfortable around the blunette who took the news with frightening calm and composure, his face not even twitching one at the mention of the billions of deaths or the billions of skyscraper sized monsters out to get him.
"Interesting," Minato mused and Aki snapped her head back at him with wide eyes. Interesting? That was all he had to say? It was becoming clear that the guy was not mentally right in the head-
Or he was a God.
"Are you okay?" Aki blinked at him with slight concern; now back to biting her lip in confusion and some worry. "You seem…"
"Not normal?" Minato gave out a small chuckle, unnerving the girl. Yuu also turned his head to stare at him, directing a small frown but that bounced off the blunette who blew his fringe out of his eyes and leaned back, tuning out the ramblings of the two God Eaters-
That was until his eyes caught the massive weapons, artificial demons that were begging him to reach out and touch. Minato alerted the two when he sat straight and began to crawl towards the arcs.
"Is that your weapon you mentioned earlier?" Minato said and for the first time, he sounded genuinely curious, almost excited even. By that point, Yuu stopped the car after a tug on his sleeve from Aki.
"Y-Yeah," the brunette said, a bead of sweat rolling down his temple when he sensed the strange boy getting closer and closer.
"Fascinating, so you harness the power of the very being made to destroy you,"
"Yuu…" Aki hissed in some concern, jerking her towards the blunette who was just beside them.
Minato reached out to touch the weapon and the two God Eaters panicked the moment they saw his attempt to grab it, with a scary and sickening look of hypnosis on his face-
"Wait! You can't!"
Yuu made the attempt to knock him backwards but Minato had already grabbed the handle of his weapon, triggering the reaction of the oracle cells embedded inside but what happened next was something Yuu did not see coming in a million years-
His vaunted blade, made up from the parts of some of the most dangerous aragami known to man did not outright devour Minato. Instead, the blade roared to life, louder than it ever did and the artificial aragami exploded out of the confines of the massive weapon, far larger and blood red in color as it took up to the skies-
Yuu and Aki could only stare in absolute horror as the aragami grew larger and larger, all under the command of Minato who was smiling ear to ear at this point, somewhat marveling the wonders of human technology as the roars of the beast were soothing his somewhat restless soul, deafening the two morons beside him.
His look of happiness melted into a disgusted look, mainly towards Yuu. He hissed in irritation and with another influx of oracle cells, he clenched his fist around the hilt and another roar pierced through the skies, triggering a vast bias field-
"That's enough!"
Yuu snatched his weapon out of the hands of Minato and the boy hissed in response, the same hand flying towards the face of the brunette and he did not see the slap coming. He was knocked off the seat and landed outside, cheek stinging from the hit-
Minato hopped off the seat and Aki jumped off right after him-
"Hey wait!"
She was just about ready to grab her weapon and charge after the insanely abnormal individual but a series of vicious roars made her stop. She looked back and saw a small army of aragamis heading right towards them-
And Minato was walking right towards them-
Yuu had gotten up to his feet, the slap from earlier bringing a bruise to his face. He still had no idea on what the hell just happened but he knew they had to defend themselves. He grabbed his weapon and Aki yelled, just when a Vajra jumped at the two of them without notice-
Minato had walked into the wave of monsters and he did not come out. It was as if he had melted into the aragamis and while they were caught off guard, the two leaders were able to slay the monsters. Yuu was insistent after that and he drove around the area for hours, hoping to come across the strange boy again but he was nowhere to be found.
"What on earth was he?" Aki said, during a quiet drive back to the Den.
Yuu said nothing but flashes of Shio, Johannes and Arius Nova made him grit his teeth and he clenched the steering well tightly. Aki shifted closer to him quietly and the two remained silent all the way to home.
...
Night had descended upon the city and Minato was lurking in the darkness, staring at his slightly charred hand from several hours straight as he wandered around aimlessly. He clenched his fist and hissed slightly, recalling the face of the stupid boy, Yuu Kannagi and burning the same into his brain.
Another unusually strong bias field emerged from where he stood and he only looked up when he heard the stomping, snarling and roaring coming from each direction. He walked a few steps and began to smirk, going over the aragamis emerging from the shadows.
Ogertails.
Zygotes.
Sariels.
Vajras.

Click-
Quadrigas.
Borgs.
Minato showed no fear and continued his walk, hands stuffed into pockets.
Black Vajras.
Hannibals.
Orochis.
Never in human history was there was a moment such as this, or a bias field as vile as the one surging from inside the blunette. He came to a stop eventually and looked over the numerous aragamis gathered before him, the so called violent gods that had brought humanity to near extinction.
One by one, the very same clusters of oracle cells began to kneel and lower before the lone blunette, even some of the mightiest demons known to Fenrir. Meanwhile, Minato stood there, as if he knew what would happen, his hands still inside his pockets and all quiet around him, giving him a moment of peace as not even a single aragami dared to look up or disturb him.
He removed the same hand from out of the pocket and gritted his teeth at the small burn, quickly clenching it again and whispering-
"Yuu Kannagi, huh?"
Somewhere far away, on the infamous mobile base, there was just this one person who took notice of the abnormal bias field. A few clicks on the terminal later, the figure gasped in awe, fidgeting slightly as a wide smile came across the face.
"My restless God…"
Well, I decided to include both cause why not? Obviously, Yuu will have more screentime as there is more material of his to go by. Besides, they need all the help they can get against Minato.
I am surprised but happy at the reviews, good to see the section is somewhat alive. Keep those coming and tell me what you think, crossovers thrive on opinions so do keep commenting.
See you on the next chapter and stay safe.
Cheers!
