NTS: ADD MORE environmental descriptions and the characters expressions!

Finally done with exams, thanks for understanding (I still have my math exam, but that one's no problem for me lol). Also, I realized that the "reincarnated" aspect of this story doesn't really do much, and I'd probably have to get rid of it. However, I would like to know what you think.

Should the title of the "Reincarnated in Academy City" story be changed?

Yes - I'm going to get rid of the prologue, change the first few chapters to make the story a little more bearable.

No - I'm going to leave the story be for now and perhaps do a partial rewrite later.

I created a poll using my account, please answer it.

Also another note, I kinda forgot what Shinobu's first name is (is it Nunotuba or Shinobu?), so I'm just going to call her Shinobu in this story.

Emilia was still in her mask and hood, hiding envelopes with money cards around alleyways like she was the Easter bunny.

Going around hiding Money cards in alleyways was a pretty easy task. In fact, it was a pretty amusing task compared to sitting around in the faculty all day. It forced her to be creative and hide the money cards in unique places, and she would sometimes practice throwing the envelopes as if they were playing cards to pass the time.

However, Emilia can't help but wonder how this strange order was supposed to benefit the experiment. First they wanted her DNA, then they had her do this. Emilia didn't feel comfortable diving her DNA away, and she had to rely on X to silence all leaks of her identity being revealed to the public. It was a relief this experiment was also confidential to the public.

The more she continued to place Money cards, the more people started to roam the alleyways. Emilia had to stay in the roof tops to avoid being seen by these people. Luckily for her, these people were staring straight at their feet, looking for the money cards Emilia set on the ground. Is this a social experiment? Observing several student's behavior when there is a rumor about free money lurking in the alleyways?

How did I get from guarding a faculty to hiding from normal civilians?

Emilia sat in her usual spot following the day she saw the helicopter crash. She began to daydream with herself, because she was met with the same teenage scientist from before.

"Did you enjoy the fresh air?" She asked.

'They might find out that I'm a girl if I speak, but they probably already know anyway given that they have my DNA.' Emilia thought. "Yes." She replied in a raspy voice. She hadn't spoken in so long.

"I have an order for you. Come with me."

Emilia stood up and followed behind the teenage scientist. "What's your name?" Emilia asked, as they walked.

The girl turned around as they walked, and turned back. After a moment of silence, she finally responded. "Nunotaba Shinobu."

Shinobu finally guided Emilia to a room with no one else in it. She let Emilia come in first and shut the door.

"I want you to scatter these in any alleyway you find." Shinobu said, handing Emilia a stack of envelopes.

"That's it?" Emilia asked, she reluctantly peeked inside one of the envelopes to find a money card in it. She looked back up to stare at Shinobu.

"Yes, it's quite simple. Just make sure you aren't seen by as many people. I have more in this room, so when you're finished, come back to pick up more."

"I'll be going now…" Emilia said, with a slight tone of confusion.

"Good luck."

So, here she was, peeking around a corner to make sure no one is there. She only had to place 5 more money cards before she could go back to the faculty. She tossed one onto the ground and sprinted down to her left. She dropped a card as she ran, and immediately stopped when she saw someone in front of her.

It was a tough looking delinquent, who was wearing a smug face as he was blocking the way. Emilia turned around the album and saw two more blocked the other side.

"Hey, now. If you don't want to get beat up, hand me the rest of the money cards you have. That way, no one will get hurt here." The lone delinquent on one side demanded. The other two chuckled at his threat.

Emilia said nothing.

Responding to Emilia's silence, his face went from smug to angry. "I said, hand the rest of the Money cards! I know you have more!"

Emilia was almost impressed that these guys managed to figure out that she was the one who was scattering money cards. However, she needed to escape.

Just as she jumped, she saw Mikoto walk through the alleyway. Emilia promptly forgot to increase her velocity and landed back on the ground.

Okay, now I've really got to go.

Emilia jumped once again, but one of the thugs charged to her like a football player.

Caught off guard, she narrowly dodged to the side, falling on the ground. I'm done for. She thought, but she saw Shinobu of all people, standing behind another one of the thugs.

"Who the hell are you two?" Roared the leading delinquent.

This was the perfect opportunity. Emilia jumped and accelerated herself to the air, grabbing onto the edge of the building. She briefly saw Mikoto electrocute the thugs, as expected. She climbed on top of the roof and ran, leaving Shinobu and Mikoto together.

You're supposed to be a civilian. Emilia thought in Kuroko's place.

Mikoto saw the masked figure leave the scene instantly and in fit of anger, zapped the delinquents unconscious. As the three men fell over, she saw a teenage girl in a lab coat staring overhead.

"Wow, she can really jump high huh?" The girl muttered to herself.

"Wait, you know Zero? Hold on! Zero is female? Hey you! Give me answers!" Mikoto yelled in response to the girl's remark.

The girl didn't respond back. She only looked over at Mikoto, and slowly approached her. Mikoto listened intently, not knowing what to expect.

Once the girl is now face to face with Mikoto, Mikoto swallowed. Though she was a level 5, she didn't have a good vibe from this girl. The girl suddenly smacked Mikoto hard in the forehead.

"Hey! What was that for!?"

"Mind your manners. I'm older than you."

"Answer my question!" Mikoto hesitated a little. "Ma'am" She added for good measure.

"I see… you're the original, aren't you?"

"Huh?" Mikoto reflexively asked.

"You should forget all of this happened." The girl began to leave, but turned around to say one more thing to Mikoto. "Oh, and cease your curiosity of Zero. You'll regret it if you don't."

As the girl left Mikoto in confusion, and Mikoto had no clue about the horrors she was going to find herself into.

Emilia settled herself into her own spot again, continuing to sit around, doing nothing. Emilia was told to stop her task by Shinobu's orders. The two became somewhat close, having a relationship of at least being able to talk to one other.

After a few days prior to scattering money cards, Emilia lost track of the time again. She usually could've kept track of the time by judging the scientist's activity sometimes getting a glimpse of their watches.

Shinobu was surprisingly far more considerate than the other researchers in the faculty. She would bring her milk tea, and snacks (even though Emilia insisted on having water, she would always get milk tea, not that she was complaining). She even offered Emilia to use a shower to stay hygienic.

After the first day of scattering money cards, Emilia collapsed on her one spot, back leaning against the wall.

"Tired already? We have more tomorrow." Shinobu said, looking down at Emilia.

"I'm used to missions being one or 2 hours long, not 12 hours. And I don't even get a rest." Emilia protested.

"This is your rest, right here. Be ready for tomorrow." Shinobu said.

"Roger." Emilia replied.

Shinobu turned to leave, but froze for a single second.

"Is something the matter?" Emilia asked.

"Do you want to use my shower?" Shinobu suddenly asked.

Emilia smiled under her mask. "What's with the sudden kindness?"

"Just follow me."

Shinobu led Emilia out of the faculty, showing other researchers her ID to show that she had the right to bring their protector out of the faculty. She guided Emilia through a traditional sidewalk, and into her apartment. It was a surprisingly short walk, and they arrived before Emilia even realized it.

The apartment looked quite plain, which for some reason wasn't surprising for Emilia. A couch, a TV, a potted plant sitting in the corner and other normal things.

Shinobu took off her shoes and licked a light switch, making the apartment slightly brighter. She walked to her bathroom as Emilia followed behind.

"You can use it. I won't peek, you have my word."

"No, it's fine." Emilia said. She removed her mask and lifted her hoodie to show Shinobu her face. Her silent, stunned surprise satisfied Emilia a little.

It was silent, perhaps awkward, so Emilia walked into the bathroom then took off her hoodie and cape.

Shinobu finally spoke. "You're female…"

"What? Are girl espers uncommon?" Emilia asked.

"No, your voice sounded male."

Emilia looked up at Shinobu and frowned. "Hey! I-I…"

Shinobu let out a soft chuckle as Emilia fumbled to protest.

"Zero, We need to have a talk." A man said, cutting Emilia's daydreaming out. Emilia looked up to see a man with a suit and tie, along with some glasses. He was quite bulky, and looked like a bouncer or bodyguard.

Emilia stood up and followed the man, and it was chillingly silent. She had been used to following around Shinobu, she almost forgot how working for the dark side gives her goosebumps.

They arrived in a fancy looking office, quite similar to the hideout Emilia was in. There were several similar looking men with suits and sunglasses, and behind the mahogany desk was a figure. The figure could not be seen due to the shading of the light. However, by reading heat signatures of the man, Emilia knew exactly who it was. This seems awfully cliché.

"You're in charge of this?" Emilia asked.

"No, I'm merely a supporting 3rd party." X replied with his usual calm manner.

Emilia spared herself from asking what he meant by '3rd party'. "What is it?"

Emilia felt X's facial expressions change to a more serious tone. "We have a bit of an issue. More of a nuisance, if you may call it. My ally's research faculties are being destroyed by an assailant.

"And you want me to stop them?" Emilia asked.

"Precisely. Straightforward, just as I like it."

"Any data on this foe?"

At this question, X heaved a sigh. "Leave us alone for a while won't you?" He said, and in mere seconds the "bodyguards" left the room, slamming the door behind them. After the door shut, X pulled up a tablet to show Emilia. It appeared to be a CCTV camera, which Emilia assumed was going to record the enemy.

Upon seeing who it was, Emilia directly punched the screen, breathing heavily. Her fist was bleeding from the shards of the screen. The tablet burst into flames from Emilia's rage and fury.

X was completely unfazed by the fact that a brand-new looking, piece of technology was shattered in front of his eyes. "You do know that someone like me would come in prepared for something like this, right?" He said with a blank face.

"Why…" Emilia said softly, but refused to go in tears. "Why is she doing this?"

"Who knows?" X said, spinning his chair around to face the window that was behind him. "This'll be your last mission. She needs to be silenced. Kill her."

The last two words echoed in her mind. 'Kill her.'

Emilia left the room, paled. Upon taking that one step to leave the room she has made up her mind. I only met Mikoto about a month ago, but I've known Azusa for years.
