Hello again.

I originally wrote one really long chapter. However it was too ridiculously long, so I decided to simply split the chapter in two.

Sorry if this chapter isn't enough.

"Is the little short?" Mikoto asked, peering over Emilia.

"A little is an understatement." Emilia shot back, looking down at her new uniform, specifically the skirt. She immediately gained a habit of pulling her skirt low as possible. "How do you even get comfortable in these?"

"Shorts." Mikoto bluntly replied.

Emilia sighed. "Of course."

"H-hey! They're comfortable, okay?!" Mikoto protested. "Maybe you should wear them too if you hate it so much…" She muttered.

"Not in a million years. Anywho, the uniform fits, so can I go back to my hoodie?" Emilia asked.

"Nope." Mikoto said, which led to Emilia sighing again.

Very early in the morning, Emilia was in a dressing room, putting on a short-sleeved white dress shirt worn under a light brown vest with the Tokiwadai emblem on the left side. Along with that, she also wore a short, dark tanned skirt with pockets. "At least I can still run in these. Remind me why I agreed to this?" Emilia asked Mikoto.

Mikoto was wearing a uniform herself, standing in the dressing room alongside Emilia. "Well, the teachers won't stop pestering me about how I should convince you to join their school. Two level 5s in their school just still isn't enough for them, huh? Honestly! I'm not even sure how they managed to find out that I was acquainted with you."

Emilia took a stretch and opened the curtains of the dressing room. "Well, at least I get to share a school with one of my friends. I wonder what it'll be like there." She wondered as she walked out. Mikoto followed by her side.

"So, you said that students have to wear this all the time, right? You're not allowed to wear anything else?"

"Well, I'm sure a hairpin or two is fine, but I can be very sure you can't be wearing your hoodie."

"Am I supposed to act differently in this school? Like any manners?" Emilia asked.

"No, you can be yourself. Just hold back on the bluntness just a tiny bit." Mikoto replied.

They both walked to the main academy by themselves. The academy looked a little more like a traditional schoolhouse rather than a normal building. Emilia noticed a big clocktower at the top of the very school, several girls were already walking through the black, open gate. Among those girls, Kuroko was there.

"Hello, Onee-Sama!" Kuroko greeted with a bit of glee. She turned her head and stared at who was accompanying Mikoto. "No way…" She breathed.

"Hm?"

"You're the rumored transfer student coming to Tokiwadai? I didn't think they would ever accept a level 1!" Kuroko asked in shock.

"Well, I don't think Emilia's ever gotten an accurate system scan, so I really doubt she would keep the title as a level 1."

"That would certainly explain it." Kuroko said. "Well, I'm glad you're here, Senpai!"

Emilia took a step back, startled. "Uh no- please just call me Emilia."

Kuroko shrugged. "Okay, Todoroki-san."

"Emilia!" The girl repeated in irritation.

Emilia paid attention in class. The material was noticeably more difficult than her previous one, but she still managed alright.

"Hey! Todoroki-san!" A teacher called out.

Emilia didn't act surprised as she was already paying attention to begin with. "Yes?" She steadily replied.

"You should be writing notes in class, don't just space out like that!"

I was not spacing out! Emilia internally protested. She looked around to see herself as the center of attention. All the students had their pencils out, and notebook in hand.

"Ah… I see." Emilia said as she read the room. Pushing down her rebellious side, she stood up and bowed. "I apologize for the rudeness. I was paying attention, but I was unaware that we are required to take notes. I promise I will bring a pencil and notebook to my next class."

The teacher gave a forgiving smile. "As long as you understand."

The other students on the other hand, didn't seem as friendly as the teacher. Whispers were already heard in the classroom. Emilia had to ignore the glances and smirks coming her way.

At long last, the lectures were finally over. Mikoto was waiting by the gate for Emilia. She recalled the moment when she was called over by the dorm manager and a few teachers, and sighed. I hope I'm not being as pushy as them. She thought. She finally heard footsteps approaching and saw Emilia.

"How is the school? Isn't it better?" She asked.

"I'm not sure if your teachers put you up to saying that, or if it's your idiocy. What are you, my mom?"

Mikoto casually laughed it off with a bit of discomfort in her voice. "W-well, I guess you aren't used to it.."

"No." Emilia interjected. "It's a good school." She said with a smile. Mikoto relaxed in response. The two friends began to walk, on the peaceful day.

"By the way, where's Kuroko?" Emilia asked.

"She's doing Judgement work." Mikoto replied.

"Huh. I guess I better get to work too."

"You're not leaving judgement?" Mikoto asked, with a bit of shock.

"I kind of like it there." Emilia replied. "What of it?"

Mikoto shook her hands innocently. "No, no. It'll just be a surprise if a level 5 is willing to work with Judgement."

"Now that I think about it, I guess I really am a level 5. I didn't really feel like one back there." Emilia said. "The shocked looks of everyone's faces would be hilarious when they find out."

Mikoto let out a mischievous smile. "I'm with you there."

The two remained silent as they walked. But as Mikoto led the way, they noticed that they already caught the attention of almost every student in the area.

"Is my uniform wrong?" Mikoto whispered.

Emilia spoke in a normal voice. "No, they're probably just wondering how some transfer student gained the attention of their ace." She sighed. "If you don't like the attention, maybe you can just tell me where you're going? We can meet up there."

"No, a few rumours aren't going to stop me. Plus, we're almost there." Mikoto replied.

Mikoto noticed a certain familiar balcony on their right as they walked. She had a bad feeling about this.

"So, Misaka-san." Emilia said.

"Yes?" Mikoto instinctively replied.

"I'm surprised you made an actual friend in this school, besides your roommate. I never would have thought anyone would be interested in being friends with a hothead like you." Said Emilia's voice.

Mikoto knew that manner of speaking anywhere. "Shokuhou…" She said in an irritated voice.

The star shaped pupils on Emilia's eyes vanished, and Mikoto saw a Blond haired girl walk into sight from the balcony on their right.

"Why hello, Misaka-san." The girl greeted with a smug, refined smile. The girl looked absolutely calm and collected, wearing an expensive looking purse over her shoulder.

Mikoto on the other hand, was the complete opposite. "You just have to use your ability on everyone you see, huh?"

"How rude." The blond girl said. "I only controlled her, that's all. I was even considerate enough to not read her memory."

"Why you-"

Mikoto was interrupted with Emilia's hand on her back. Emilia forcefully pushed her to walk away from the scene, ignoring Mental Out.

"Why did you do that?" Mikoto asked, as they continued to walk.

"Knowing you, electricity can be launched almost anytime at that moment." Emilia said, as Mikoto flinched. "I was controlled, wasn't I?"

Mikoto nodded.

Emilia sighed. "Well on the plus side, I calculated the properties of that girl's remote. I should be immune to it now."

Mikoto looked relieved. "That's good to hear."

"Still, that was the 5th ranked, right?"

"Yes. She and I aren't on good terms."

At long last, Mikoto finally led Emilia to the place they were going. A place where Emilia can take a more accurate system scan.

Emilia walked in the ordinary looking building. She passed by several other Tokiwadai girls as she entered. It wasn't really what Emilia expected, given that she was told that Mikoto had to get her ability measured using a swimming pool. I guess the location depends on the person's ability. Come to think of it, my ability may be more lethal outdoors.

When she reached the office, she saw even more girls in what appears to be a waiting room. There were some magazines on the coffee table, but everyone was on their phones rather than actually reading them.

"Emilia?" A woman wearing a white coat asked.

That was fast. Do level 5s get special treatment or something? I guess I can't be surprised.

"Here." Emilia said. She proceeded to follow the woman deep into the building. As she walked she noticed several more researchers in white lab coats. Emilia sweatdropped slightly as she remembered her past experiences with people wearing white.

"Don't worry, everything's going to be fine." The woman said. "Call me Sawako-san. We're almost there."

Emilia nodded slightly as they finally arrived at a large metal door on their right. The door looked more like an entrance to a vault. The woman entered a keycard of sorts, and the door opened horizontally like an elevator. "Don't be shy, just do what they tell you to do."

Emilia nodded slightly again, and slowly entered the room. It was pitch whiteeverrhing seemed white except a mirror up high behind her. Emilia assumed that was where the researchers were watching her. It was glass that could only be seen one way. A metal rod was at the very center of the room, attached to the ground.

Emilia walked closer into the room until she heard a voice.

"Okay Todoroki, start by slowly heating that rod up until you reach your limit."

Emilia looked up to see where the voice was heard, but she couldn't find any intercoms. She started the heat up the rod with her ability, slowly as they said.

Emilia kept heating up the rod and made sure to maintain a constant temperature on herself. As time went on, the rod slowly glowed into a fiery orange colour,

"W-w-wait! Stop! You're melting the rod!" Emilia heard someone yell. She immediately ceased the heat and cooled the rod down to room temperature.

The rod now looked a little deformed, and Emilia stood there in silence.

"Very well, you may leave. You are the level 5, Zero." The voice on the intercom said.

Does this place have a recorder? Can they hear me?

"Hey! That nickname is a bit embarrassing, so could you change that name to just Emilia?"

"U-uh… yes. I'll see what we can do." The voice replied.

Emilia asked out the room, as Dr. Sawako reopened the door. "How was it?" She asked.

"It was fine." Emilia replied.

Jason walked out of his own academy, with earphones on his ears. He didn't necessarily love or hate any specific music, but he listened to classical electro swing. Most of his friends were into rock and rap songs, and Jason couldn't bring himself to understand why so many people liked those songs. Not that he specifically hated them of course.

Jason was usually the quiet one in his class. Invisible, like his ability. He does interact and was asked to hang out a few times, but it's for all the wrong reasons. Most boys are so eager to peek on other girls, Jason just didn't have the guts to do such a thing.

Jason took a stretch, and noticed a woman being dragged out into an alleyway. Jason turned off his music and followed the woman. Clearly enough, she was being assaulted by a delinquent.

Jason was a bit shaken by the fact that he almost turned a blind eye towards a woman in distress. He continued to chase them, and put on his armband. He didn't want to reveal his ability just yet, as it isn't fit for combat.

Jason stopped by a trash can lid, and picked it up. He made the object invisible, and continued to pursue the delinquent. With the woman thrashing and trying to break free, Jason slowly gained up on his target.

"Argh! Just give up already!" The man cried. He turned around to see Jason, and then smiled. "To think that I was running away from just a little wimp. You shouldn't snoop in other people's business!"

The man drew a knife, and Jason heard someone's word flash through his head. 'Someone with a knife may just be as easy as someone with no weapon at all. If you are experienced, that is. People tend to be more reckless when they are carrying a weapon, so use that advantage.'

Jason faked a shocked look, and the man took the bait. He came charging with a sharp metal object, Jason blocked the strike with the lid. He then followed up with a blunt hit to the head using the invisible object.

Jason saw the man go down, and approached the woman to see if she was alright. Seriously Emilia, he thought to himself. What have you been doing the past few days?
