Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user (He'll find out about being a psyphic and Aura user later). I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon don't exist.
Chapter 26
Trovita Island, Kumquat Island,
and Rinelo Island
The gang were on the boat that was taking them to Trovita Island. Ash was thinking about his third orange gym challenge. "What do you think the gym leader will be like Ash?" asked Misty. "I don't know," said Ash "all I can say is that the gym leader will give me tough challenges like Danny and Cissy did". Just then Pikachu saw something in the ocean and the gang saw it too. A little girl and her pokemon Seel were struggling in a whirlpool. "That little girl is drowning" gasped Misty. She released her Staryu and jumped into the ocean. "I'm going to get her out". Ash released his Lapras to help as well. With Staryu's and Lapras' help, Ash and Misty got the little girl to safety on the boat. "Thank you," said the little girl "I was swimming with my Seel, but the ocean pulled me away from shore and into that whirlpool". "That's why you must be very careful when swimming in the ocean," said Misty "the ocean can be very dangerous".
When the gang reached the dock, there was a boy, about 18, at the dock. He had seen everything that had happened. "Mahri" he said, running to the group. "Big brother" said Mahri, running into the boy's arms. "Mahri you got me really worried" said her brother "don't go swimming by yourself ever again okay?" Mahri nodded yes in response. The boy turned to the group. "I thank you so much for saving my little sister" he said. "Not at all" said Ash. "It was a good thing that we were here" said Tracey. The boy turned to Misty. "I saw what you did for saving my little sister," he said, looking into her eyes, "you are amazing. I'm Rudy". "Oh I'm Misty" said Misty, blushing a little bit. Ash stared at Rudy and Misty and could sense their emotions at each other. Being a psychic, Ash could sense not only pokemon emotions but also human emotions. "Um do excuse me Rudy," said Ash "but are you the gym leader of Trovita Gym?" "Yes I am," said Rudy "so I take it you want to challenge me?" "Yes I do, and my name is Ash" said Ash. "Well Ash," said Rudy "I take it that you have already challenged some orange gym leaders?" "Yes I have," said Ash, showing Rudy his Coral-Eye badge and Sea-Ruby badge "so what do I have to do to earn a badge here?" Rudy smiled. "You have to take two challenges," he said "one is a target test and the other test is a pokemon battle, but we fight using the same type of pokemon". "I got it" said Ash confidently.
The target test, that Ash had to do first, was have his pokemon hit targets that would appear in front of him on tree branches and rocks. The tricky thing was that Ash and his pokemon had to ride a speed boat, going up river, and Ash had to hit every one of them, while passing them. Ash used Pikachu, Espeon, Flareon and Dragonair for this challenge, and thanks to them Ash beat the challenge; they did not miss any targets. While the challenge was going on, Misty and Rudy had been staring, smiling and talking with each other the whole time. 'There's no doubt about it' thought Ash 'those two are in love with each other'. He made sure not to disturb them while the challenge was going on. "Well Ash," said Rudy, after the challenge was finished with, "well done of beating the first challenge. But you still need to defeat me in the same type pokemon battle tomorrow. What type do you choose?" "Electric, psychic and bug" said Ash. "Very well," said Danny "that is the type you and I will battle with".
That evening, Misty and Togepi were having dinner with Rudy and Mahri. "This food is delicious" said Misty. "It sure is," said Mahri "my brother is a very good cook". "I'm glad you like it Misty" said Rudy, with a smile. "Having you here Misty is like you're my older sister," said Mahri "I do wish that I did have a sister. My brother and the other boys are great, but I'm the only girl here. So I wish to have an older sister like you Misty". "That's enough Mahri," said Rudy "hey Misty, after dinner want to see all my pokemon?" "I would love to" said Misty.
After dinner was all finished, Rudy and Mahri led Misty to a room of the gym, where all of Rudy's pokemon were. Rudy had a Ninetails, Electabuzz, Venomoth, Nidoking, Starmie, Exeggutor, Hitmonchan, Golem, Alakazam, Pidgeot and Rhydon. In the room all the pokemon were dancing to music. "You taught your pokemon to dance?" asked Misty. "That's right," said Rudy "you see my pokemon learning to dance helps increase their skills". Mahri held onto Misty's Togepi and danced with it, and Rudy danced with Misty. While they were dancing, Rudy said something to Misty. "Misty," he said "Mahri and I would like it if you stayed here with us". Misty was surprised and shocked by what Rudy had said. "I don't know what to say" she said. "Think about it tonight," said Rudy "and I'll hear your answer tomorrow after the gym battle".
Meanwhile, Ash, Tomo and Tracey were eating dinner at the gym's visitor quarters. They were having takeout meals. Tracey was talking to Prof Oak on the phone and showing him his sketches of pokemon. Ash was checking to see that his Raichu, Espeon and Venomoth were okay. "Are you going to battle Rudy with these?" asked Tomo. "Yep," said Ash "and I will win and get that badge". "You can do it big brother" said Tomo. "Thank you little brother" said Ash, rubbing Tomo's head. Pikachu and Growlithe liked looking at the brotherly bond between Ash and Tomo.
Later that night when Tomo and Tracey were asleep, Ash and Pikachu were still awake. Ash was too excited to sleep because of tomorrow's gym badge. They were outside looking at the stars and moon and were just about to go back inside, when they saw Misty outside. "Hey Misty, what's wrong?" said Ash. Misty sighed. "Well, something happened" she said. "What? Rudy didn't do anything bad to you did he?" asked Ash worriedly. If there was one thing Ash didn't like were people picking on his friends. "Oh no nothing like that," said Misty "it's just that". She told him about Rudy asking her to stay with him. Ash was surprised by that. "What did you say?" he asked. "Well I'm confused," Misty admitted "the truth is I want to keep of traveling with you and the others but um". "But you like Rudy" finished Ash. "Huh?" gasped Misty, blushing in the face. "I saw the looks between you and Rudy," said Ash "and from the looks of them, you and Rudy really like each other". Misty had to admit that Ash was right. "Thing is though I don't know how to answer to Rudy" she said. "Let me tell you this Misty," said Ash "as you probably know that, as an eleven year old, I wouldn't exactly understand about these things yet. But as your friend the only advice I can give you is this. It you yourself that decided what you should do, and Tomo, Tracey and I will accept your decision. And I'm pretty sure Rudy will too". "Thank you Ash," smiled Misty "you are a good friend". After that talk, Ash and Misty went to bed.
Next day, it was time for Ash's gym battle with Rudy. "Are you ready Ash?" asked Rudy. "As ready as I ever will be" said Ash. "Okay," said the referee, who was riding on a flying Pidgeot, "this is a battle between Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and the gym leader of Trovita Gym, Rudy. It will be a three on three pokemon battle, and who ever knocks out two of the opponent's pokemon first wins. Let the battle begin".
"For my electric pokemon, I choose Electabuzz" said Rudy. Rudy's Electabuzz pumped its muscle and released some electricity all ready for battling. "All right, Raichu I choose you" said Ash. Ash's Raichu was all ready for battling too. "Raichu, Electabuzz is an electric type too so electric type moves won't work," said Ash "we need to use attacks that aren't electric okay?" Raichu nodded in response. "Start off with iron tail". Raichu charged up to Electabuzz, with his tail turning white, ready to hit it. "Hit Raichu with thunderbolt" said Rudy to Electabuzz. Electabuzz shot a blast of electricity at Raichu, but Raichu jumped and avoided the attack. Then he hit Electabuzz dead on with the iron tail attack. "Wow it hit head on," said Tracey "I'm impressed with Ash's battle skills". "My big brother has trained his pokemon a lot" said Tomo. "Great Raichu, now use quick attack" said Ash. Raichu charged into Electabuzz with quick attack. "This kid is good," said Rudy "now Electabuzz use thunder punch". Electabuzz's right fist glowed yellow, with electricity surrounding its arm, and got ready to punch Raichu. "Counter it with focus punch" Ash commanded Raichu. Raichu's right paw glowed white, and then both Raichu's focus punch and Electabuzz's thunder punch collided with each other. "Wow that was incredible" said Tracey. "Now focus punch one more time" said Ash. Raichu's right paw glowed white again and then it punched Electabuzz's face really hard, causing Electabuzz to faint. "Electabuzz is unable to battle Raichu wins," said the referee. Rudy returned Electabuzz. "I must say Ash, you're a good battler," he said "but it's not over yet".
Rudy sent out his second pokemon, Venomoth, and Ash sent his second pokemon, Scyther. "All right Venomoth use stun spore" commanded Rudy. Venomoth flapped its wings and an orange powder came out of them. "Quick Scyther use double team and use your wings to blow that stun spore away" said Ash. Scyther made multiple copies of itself and then he and the copies used their wings to blow at the stun spore before the stun spore could hit them. "That was a clever attack" said Misty, impressed with Ash's skill. "All right then," said Rudy "use psybeam". Venomoth shot out two multi-coloured beams from its eyes and fired them towards Scyther. Scyther got it by the psybeam. "Scyther, are you okay?" asked Ash. Scyther moved his scythes around, showing that he was okay. "All right, use air slash". Scyther's wings glowed light blue and then some light blue blades of air flew out of his wings and hit Venomoth dead on. As air slash was a flying type move, Venomoth received a lot of damage. "Now use x-scissor". Scyther crossed his scythes, while they were turning purple, then he flew over to Venomoth and slashed at it. After that attack Venomoth fainted. "Venomoth is unable to battle," said the referee "and since Rudy has lost two times, the winner of this gym battle is Ash". Ash was happy of his victory and hugged Scyther. "Thank you Scyther" he said. Scyther returned the hug.
Rudy returned Venomoth and walked over to Ash. "I have to say Ash, you are one strong trainer" he said. "You're a strong trainer yourself Rudy" smiled Ash. Mahri held up a box to Rudy, which contained the Trovita Gym badge. "Well then Ash as proof as your victory, I present to you the Spike-Shell Badge" said Rudy. The Spike-Shell Badge was a yellow triumphant star turban shell with a small pink gemstone. Ash took it from Rudy and thanked him.
"Now that this is all over," said Ash, turning to Misty, "Misty has something she would like to say to you". Misty started to blush; she knew what Ash was talking about. After taking a deep breath, she gathered up her courage to give Rudy her answer. "Rudy I thought about your offer last night," she said "and the truth is. I would like to stay with you, because I really like you". Everyone was surprised by Misty's decision. "But I want to continue travelling with my friends. You see, I wish to take over the leadership of the Cerulean Gym in Cerulean City. And before I do that I want to keep on travelling and capturing water pokemon. So I can't stay with you and Mahri right now, I do apologize". Rudy smiled after listening to Misty's confession. "I understand Misty," he said "I can tell very well how much you love Cerulean Gym just like I love my gym, and Mahri and I will support you in any way we can". He handed her a small piece of paper. "This is my phone number, that way we can keep in contact with each other". "I'll phone you too and visit your gym" said Mahri. Misty smiled and thanked Rudy and Mahri.
So Ash and the gang left Trovita Island, with two things; Ash had the Spike-Shell Badge, and Misty had got a boyfriend.
Sometime after winning the Trovita badge, Ash and the gang met a well-known fire fighter named Captain Aiden. Captain Aiden owned a bunch of Squirtle, a bunch of Wartortle and a bunch of Blastoise for his team. The gang had even helped him put out a fire with their water pokemon. Now they had arrived on an island called Kumquat Island, where Ash could obtain his fourth and final Orange League badge. "Apart from having a gym," said Tracey "Kumquat Island is famous for its luxurious hotels, beaches, and hot springs". "Oh I want to try them out" said Misty. "Me too," said Tracey "what do you say Ash?" "I'm really here for a badge, not for a vacation" said Ash.
Just then, Ash got pulled into a hug by a middle aged woman. "Oh Travis, I've missed you so much" said the woman, hugging Ash rather tight. "Excuse me ma' me," said Ash, trying to breathe, "but my name isn't Travis". The woman looked at Ash, and then let him go at once. "Oh, I am so sorry," she said "the truth is you look like my son Travis, who's a pokemon trainer and he has a Pikachu too". Ash accepted the apology. "Is your son out on a pokemon journey too?" asked Misty. "Yes," said the woman "oh and I'm Luana. I am the manger of my own luxury hotel and the gym leader of Kumquat Gym". Ash was delighted when he heard that. "My name is Ash," he said "and I wish to have a gym battle with you for my fourth and final Orange League badge". "I will accept your battle Ash," said Luana "and we will have it tomorrow, and I propose a double battle". Ash knew what a double battle was; it was then trainers had to battle with two pokemon each. "So I suggest you four spend a night at my hotel". Misty, Tomo and Tracey agreed to the offer right away, and Ash had to agree too; he couldn't beat that. Just then Ash noticed that a pokemon was standing next to Luana; it was an Alakazam.
Ash looked at Alakazam on the pokedex: Alakazam, the psi pokemon. The evolved form of Kadabra. With the brain like a super computer, it possesses many different supernatural powers.
"I take it that Alakazam is yours?" asked Ash. "That's right," said Luana "and my battling partner". This meant that Ash was going to face Alakazam in the gym battle tomorrow.
Luana led the to her luxury hotel. Apparently it was not only her hotel, it was also where she held the gym battles. And it had rooms where both pokemon and their trainers could relax. Luna offered the gang the night in her hotel's most exquisite suite for free of charge. And right now the gang were enjoying the hot spring. "So Ash," said Tracey "what two pokemon are you going to use?" "Well I already decided Pikachu of course, but I'm not so sure about my second one yet" said Ash. "Well we already know that Luana's first pokemon is Alakazam," said Misty "it's just the second pokemon we don't know". Ash started to think for a minute, and then he got the answer. "I know," said Ash "I'll use Gengar as my second pokemon". "That's a great idea," said Tracey "besides ghost types can beat psychic types". Misty and Tomo agreed with that idea too. So it was decided that Ash would use Pikachu and Gengar for his gym battle with Luana.
The next day it was finally time for Ash's gym battle against Luana. "Well Ash, are you ready?" asked Luana. "You bet," said Ash "I'm as ready as I ever will be". Tomo, Misty and Tracey were watching from the side lines. "Just think," said Tracey "if Ash wins this, he can finally enter the Orange League". "Yes but we still don't know what Luana's second pokemon is" said Misty. Soon it was time for the gym battle to begin. "Alright Ash here are my two pokemon" said Luana, throwing two pokeballs. Luana's two pokemon turned out to be Alakazam and a Marowak. Ash sent out Pikachu and Gengar. Now the battle really had started and Ash was allowed to attack first. "Okay Gengar use icy wind against Marowak and Pikachu use thunderbolt against Alakazam" said Ash. Pikachu sent a blast of electricity towards Alakazam and Gengar blew sparkly blue snow, from its mouth, towards Marowak. This didn't worry Luana though. "Marowak use bone rush to fight that electricity and Alakazam use psybeam against that icy wind attack". Marowak's bone rush attack blocked the thunder bolt; bone rush was a ground type move, so electric moves was useless against it. Alakazam's psybeam broke the icy wind apart into little bits of snow. 'Whoa,' thought Ash 'the way her pokemon did that means they are a real fighting team. We will need to attack another way'. "Okay Gengar make your self invisible" said Ash. Gengar disappeared through the floor. "I wonder why Ash told Gengar to do that" said Misty. "I think I know why," said Tracey "since ghost pokemon are known for sneaking up on both humans and pokemon, Ash is deciding to use that ability to sneak on Alakazam and Marowak. A clever idea if you ask me". Ash then ordered Pikachu to use iron tail on Marowak. Pikachu charged at Marowak, with his tail all white, ready to attack. At that moment Alakazam appeared in front of Marowak, as if to protect it. "Now Gengar shadow punch" said Ash. Gengar appeared from out of the floor and, with his right arm turning black and purple, punched Alakazam. Alakazam became hurt from the shadow punch. "Wow," gasped Tracey "Ash's idea worked". "Ash gets more amazing when it comes to battles" Misty admitted. "Way to go big brother" said Tomo. Luana was impressed with Ash's skills too. Ash got Pikachu and Gengar to use iron tail and icy wind again. "Marowak use bone rush again and you use psybeam again Alakazam" said Luana. Marowak was heading for Pikachu's electric attack again, but Gengar appeared in front of Pikachu and blew his icy wind against Marowak, hurting it a lot. Ice type attacks were strong against ground type moves. Luana was surprised by that. "I had a feeling that you would do that again Luana," said Ash "so I decided to use Pikachu's thunderbolt as bait for Marowak, then while Marowak was distracted by Pikachu I have Gengar attack Marowak too". Just then Pikachu switched his attack from thunderbolt to iron tail and attack Marowak with it, causing Marowak to faint from that blow. "Now Gengar hit Alakazam with shadow ball and Pikachu use thunder" said Ash. Pikachu fired a massive beam of electricity from his body to Alakazam, and Gengar sent a big purple and black ball from his hands and fired it at Alakazam as well. The thunder and shadow ball attacks caused Alakazam to faint, making Ash the winner of the gm battle.
Ash hugged Pikachu and Gengar to thank them. Gengar licked Ash in the face with its long tongue. Luana returned Alakazam and Marowak and walked up to Ash. "I must say Ash," she said "that was the best battle I ever had and you did a very good job. So as proof as your victory I present to you the Jade-Star badge". The Jade-Star Badge was a grey conch shell, with a small yellow gemstone. "I finally got all four Orange League badges" said Ash happily. "Then that means you can enter the Orange League on Pummelo Island Ash," said Luana 'and you must defeat the leader of the Orange League to win. And I must warn you he won't be very easy to beat". "That's okay with me, because I like a tough challenge" smiled Ash.
So with the Jade-Star badge obtained, the gang said goodbye to Luana, and left Kumquat Island for Pummelo Island, so that Ash could finally enter the Orange League.
While on the way to Pummelo Island, Ash and the gang stopped on an island called Rinelo Island. As well as taking a break there, Ash saw this as an opportunity to train his pokemon before the Orange League. Of course Ash didn't know what pokemon the leader of the Orange League would use, so he decided to train his pokemon and himself to get ready for it. Right now he was having a jog with Tomo, Pikachu and Growlithe. Misty was fishing in the stream, to see if she could catch more water pokemon. And Tracey was sketching a wild Vileplume.
Right now the day was going well, but then trouble happened. Tomo accidently ran into another wild Vileplume and that made the Vileplume quite cross. Ash and Tomo tried to apologize to Vileplume and explain that it was an accident, but Vileplume wouldn't listen. In anger, the Vileplume fired stun spore at them, making Ash and Tomo paralyzed. Pikachu and Growlithe didn't get hit by the stun spore. Pikachu and Growlithe ran to Tracey for help, and when Tracey saw Ash and Tomo paralyzed he brought them to the cabin that they were staying at. The wild Vileplume, that Tracey had sketched, felt sorry for Ash and Tomo and offered to help and Tracey accepted the help.
Soon Ash and Tomo were in the cabin beds and being taken care of by Misty and Tracey. "What can we do Tracey?" asked Misty "we don't have any medicine for Ash and Tomo and we are nowhere near a pokemon center". Tracey thought for a moment. "There is something we can do," he said "we need to gather salveyo weed". He borrowed Ash's pokedex to show Misty what salveyo weed looked like. "This plant can cure paralysis". "It says on the pokedex that Poliwag feed on it," said Misty "and the good news is I have my two Poliwags with me". So Misty and Togepi left the cabin to look for salveyo weed, leaving Tracey, Vileplume, Pikachu and Growlithe to take care of Ash and Tomo.
Misty went to the lake, where she was fishing earlier, and released her Poliwags. "Okay Poliwags," she said "I need you to find me some salveyo weed please". Misty's Poliwags jumped into the lake and swan to the bottom to get the salveyo weed. They found it with no trouble at all and brought it to Misty. "Thanks you two," she said, "now to take this to Tracey". Misty returned her Poliwags and was just about to head back to the cabin, when she saw something by the lake. A pink pokemon, with a big shell thing on its head was panting heavily by the lake. "No way," gasped Misty "it's a Slowking". She remembered the time when she and the gang met a Slowking. When Misty looked at the Slowking, she saw that it was paralyzed. "It must have been hit by a Vileplume's stun spore too" she said to Togepi. Misty used a pokeball to catch Slowking; there was no way she could have carried both Slowking and the salveyo weed in her arms.
Soon, Misty was back at the cabin and gave the salveyo weed to Tracey and showed him Slowking too. Tracey used the weed to make the medicine at once. Then he gave it to Ash, Tomo and Slowking. In no time at all, Ash, Tomo and Slowking were cured from the paralysis. "Thanks Tracey and Misty" said Ash. "Thank you" said Tomo. Slowking thanked Misty and Tracey too. "Well I'm certainly glad that you three are all right now," said Tracey "just try not to run into anymore wild Vileplume again". Ash and Tomo promised not to; they didn't want to suffer from paralysis again.
Misty walked up to Slowking. "Hey Slowking," she said "if it's okay with you, I would love to have you as my pokemon". Slowking smiled, meaning it wanted to stay with Misty.
Ash looked at Slowking on the pokedex: Slowking, the royal pokemon. The evolved form of Slowpoke. It has incredible intellect and intuition. Whatever the situation, it remains calm and collected.
You know I find Slowpoke's evolution line really strange," said Ash "I mean Slowpoke evolves into Slowbro when bitten on the tail by Shellder, and Slowpoke will only evolve into Slowking when wearing a king's rock and then bitten on the head by a Shellder". "A pokemon's evolution is always full of mysteries Ash," said Tracey "and it shows how pokemon can be truly amazing". Ash, Tomo and Misty agreed with that.
Just as the gang were leaving the cabin, to head off for Pummelo Island, Tracey told the wild Vileplume that it could go back to the forest. But Vileplume didn't want to go; it wanted to stay with Tracey. So Tracey caught Vileplume. Then the gang set off for Pummelo Island, with a Slowking and Vileplume in tow.
I always like Rudy/Misty couple. I don't really understand Ash and Misty's relationship. I mean they are like brother and sister really towards each other, especially when they argue. So I don't like the Ash/Misty couple really. I would never have Misty leave here in the Orange Islands; I mean not having her in Johto seems all wrong. I gave Misty a Slowking here because of the premier of the second pokemon movie (which I'm going to write after I finish the orange series). I always think that Tracey should have more pokemon in the anime, so I decided to give him a Vileplume.
