Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user (He'll find out about being a psyphic and Aura user later). I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon don't exist.
Chapter 27
Pummelo Island
Ash and the gang were now riding Lapras on their way to Pummelo Island. "I can't believe that I'm finally on my way to the Orange League" said Ash. "How do you feel Ash?" asked Misty. "Well Misty I feel both nervous and excited" Ash admitted. "Since you told me that you entered the Indigo League a while back Ash, I take it this league will be your second one?" said Tracey. "That's right Tracey, it is" said Ash. Suddenly the gang saw a large shadow figure flying across the ocean. "I wander that is" said Ash. Tracey had a look through his binoculars, but he still couldn't make out what the shadowy figure was. The shadowy figure flew higher up into the sky and then flew away. "I wonder where it's going" said Misty. "I don't know," said Tracey "but I do hope that we will see it again". The gang then moved on to Pummelo Island.
When the gang finally got to Pummelo Island, the first thing they did was go to the building where Ash had to register to enter the Orange League. The receptionist scanned Ash's pokedex and four gym badges and soon Ash was registered. "Okay, Ash Ketchum, your match is scheduled at ten o'clock in the morning at the Pummelo Stadium" said the receptionist. Ash asked the receptionist where the Pummelo Stadium was. The receptionist showed the gang the way to the Pummelo Stadium. The Pummelo Stadium stood on the top of a big hill, and it looked Roman coliseum style. There was a domed shape building next to the Pummelo Stadium. The receptionist explained that the dome shaped building was the Orange League's hall of fame. Inside there were stone statues of some pokemon, pictures of trainers with their six pokemon and stone slates of prints from pokemon. "If a trainer wins the Orange League," said the receptionist "not only would you win the winner's trophy but a photo you and your six pokemon get to be placed in the hall of fame". Ash got really excited of thinking about being placed in the hall of fame. "To win the Orange League, you have to defeat our head leader, Drake, in a six on six pokemon battle". "Oh my goodness" said Ash; he had never fought in a six on six battle before. Just them Tracey noticed a lot of statues of a dragon in the building. "These statues are Dragonite" said Ash. "That's right," said the receptionist "and I must warn you, Drake owns a Dragonite". The gang was surprised by that. "And because of Dragonite, Drake hasn't been defeated for quite a while. So Ash I wish you good luck".
In Pummelo Stadium, the head leader, Drake, was looking at the sky in a bored state. "I wonder if there will ever be a trainer strong enough to triumph over us" he sighed. The truth is a lot of pokemon have challenged him in the past, but he had easily defeated them. So his wish was to have a challenger to not only give him a good fight, but also triumph over him. Little did Drake know that he was being watched; Team Rocket was at Pummelo Stadium and was spying on Drake. They had heard about him being an owner of a Dragonite and they wanted the Dragonite for their boss. "Okay so how should we do this?" asked James "I mean we can't just nab Dragonite because of its strong strength". "Your right James, "said Jessie "the only way we can beat is to defeat it first". Suddenly they heard an announcement that someone was going to challenge Drake in a match tomorrow. "That's it," said Meowth "that challenger can weaken the Dragonite for us and then we nab it". Jessie and James agreed with that idea.
That evening, Ash began to think which six pokemon he would use in his battle against Drake. "Ash better think carefully about this" Tracey said to Misty. "I agree," said Misty "especially since we don't know what pokemon Drake uses, apart from Dragonite". Tomo was with Ash and was watching him think. Then Ash started to smile. "I've got it," he said "I've chosen Pikachu, Kabutops, Rapidash, Aerodactyl, Nidoking and Espeon". "I like that idea big brother" said Ash. Tracey and Misty liked that idea too. "It will be great to see your fossil pokemon in a match Ash" said Tracey. "I can't wait to use them in the match tomorrow" said Ash, and he trained with his six chosen pokemon until it was time for bed.
The next day, it was finally time for Ash to face off against Drake. Lots of people had turned up to watch the battle and all the seats of Pummelo Stadium were all full. Team Rocket was sitting in the arena too and waited until the time was right for them to strike. Ash and Drake entered the Pummelo Stadium and started things off with a traditional hand shake. "Welcome to Pummelo Gym Ash," said Drake "you must be a very strong trainer to have gotten this far. Are you ready for this battle?" "Yes I am" said Ash. The referee explained the rules. "This will be a six on six pokemon battle," he said "and after one opponent's three pokemon is defeated, there will be a field change, which is when the battle arena is transformed into another battle arena. The challenger is allowed to switch pokemon during the battle, but the gym leader isn't. Choose your pokemon well and good luck to you both". "The challenge is about to begin," said the announcer "who will win, Drake, or the challenger Ash Ketchum?" The battle arena suddenly changed from a normal battle arena, to a battle arena with lots of rocks and a small pool. "The battle will first take place on a rock and water field, and we will see how our challenger's pokemon deal with it". Tomo, Misty and Tracey sat in the bench behind Ash and wished him luck.
Soon a bell was rung, which meant it was time for the Orange League battle to begin. Drake sent out his first pokemon, a Ditto. Ash knew about Ditto and its ability to transform into any pokemon and copying their attacks. "This may be tricky," said Ash "but even this won't get me down. Pikachu I'm starting off with you". Pikachu ran onto the battle arena, ready to fight. "Ditto transform" commanded Drake. Ditto transformed into a Pikachu. "Pikachu use quick attack" commanded Ash. Pikachu ran as fast as he could to charge at Ditto. Drake commanded Ditto to use quick attack too. Then both Ash and Drake commanded Pikachu and Ditto to use thunderbolt. The thunderbolts collided with each other, like how electric wires collide with each other. "This may turnout not good for Ash Ketchum," said the announcer "a lot of trainers in the past had lost in the first round because of Ditto. Seeing their own pokemon's attacks bounce back at them made the trainers lose their cool". "That Ditto may be a copy," said Ash "but there's nothing that beats the real one. Pikachu use iron tail". Pikachu's tail turned white, and got ready to hit Ditto. Drake told Ditto to use iron tail as well. Pikachu and Ditto were fighting each other with their tails like a sword fight. "All right Pikachu time to use a combo move," said Ash "use thunder-tail". Pikachu's thunder-tail move was a combination of thunderbolt and iron tail. Pikachu had his tail turn white for iron tail, and then he charged up his electricity for thunderbolt. Pikachu charged up to Ditto and then, with his tail white and yellow, he whacked Ditto really hard. Ditto transformed from Pikachu back to its original form and fainted. Ash won the first round. "That was amazing," said Tracey "I've never seen a combo move like that before". "Neither have I," said Misty "Ash is full of surprises". "Way to go big brother!" cheered Tomo. "It was a real clever way to defeat Ditto," said Tracey "I bet Drake didn't see that coming". Tracey was right; Drake didn't see that coming nor had he seen combo moves before. He returned Ditto. "Both you and Ditto did a great job Ash," he said "but this next one will rock you".
Drake's second pokemon was an Onix. Ash called Pikachu back for a rest and sent out Kabutops. "Using Kabutops is a great idea," said Tracey "since a Kabutops is both rock and water". "Kabutops use bubblebeam" commanded Ash. Kabutops shot out a stream of blue bubbles from his mouth and sent them towards Onix. "Onix use dig" said Drake. Onix dug its way underground. "We have no way of knowing when it will come up again, so Kabutops move around with aqua jet" said Ash. Kabutops surrounded himself in water and shot out like a rocked over the arena. It was like looking at a rocket moving around in space. The crowd went wild by that move. "I like the move aqua jet," said Misty "my Dewgong knows it too and it makes a water pokemon look cool in a battle". Drake commanded Onix to return to the surface and to use bind on Kabutops. Onix came out from the ground, nearly hitting Kabutops, and as quick as a flash it wrapped its tail tightly around Kabutops. Kabutops was getting crushed by Onix's strong grip. "This battle is not over yet," said Ash "Kabutops use metal sound". Kabuto's rub his scythes together and then released silver coloured waves towards Onix. The metal sound made such a terrible noise and Onix couldn't stand it and lost its concentration. "Now Kabutops use hydro pump" said Ash. Kabutops formed an orb of water in front of his head and fired a powerful jet of water at Onix. Then Ash commanded Kabutops to use slash and Kabutops slashed at Onix's face, making Onix faint in the process. "Ash is good" said Drake and returned Onix.
Drake was getting impressed with Ash's skill; even the audience were impressed with Ash. "Well Ash you have defeated two of my pokemon," said Drake "but here's a ghost of a challenge". Drake's third pokemon was Gengar. "It's a good thing I became prepared for something like this" said Ash. He returned Gengar and sent out Espeon. "Interesting", said the announcer "Ash Ketchum has sent out Espeon, a pokemon you can find in the region of Johto". Drake commanded Gengar to use shadow ball. "Use psychic Espeon" said Ash. Espeon's eyes turned blue and then fired a light blue of energy at the shadow ball, making it fall apart. "Okay Gengar go for hypnosis" said Drake. Ash knew that hypnosis would put Espeon to sleep. "Quick Espeon dive into the pool to escape" he said. Espeon dived into the pool and went under water to escape from the hypnosis. Espeon may not be a water type, but she knew how to swim. "Now use psybeam". Espeon fired a beam of multicolours at Gengar, which hurt Gengar a lot. "Gengar use nightshade" said Drake. Gengar fired two darks purple rays from its eyes towards Espeon. "Counter it with psychic" said Ash. When the nightshade and psychic collided with each other, it created a big explosion. After the big explosion cleared, everyone saw that both Gengar and Espeon had fainted resulting the third round a draw. Drake and Ash returned their pokemon.
"Since Drake has three defeated pokemon first, the field change will now take place" said the announcer. The rock and water field disappeared into the ground and then a sandy field took its place. While the field change was happening, Ash was having a breather on the bench with Tomo, Misty and Tracey. "You're doing great big brother" said Tomo, handing Ash a bottle of water. "I agree with Tomo," said Tracey "only another three pokemon to beat". "How are you feeling?" asked Misty. "Well seriously," panted Ash "a six on six pokemon battle is more hard work than I thought".
After the field change was all done with, it was now time for the second half of the battle. Drake sent out a Venasaur to the field and Ash sent out Rapidash. "Rapidash, are you okay on a sandy field?" asked Ash. He was worried if the sand would give Rapidash trouble, but Rapidash reassured him that she was okay. "Venusaur use vine whip" said Drake. Several vines came out of Venasaur's back and went straight to Rapidash. "Rapidash dodge those vines with agility" said Ash. Rapidash galloped to dodge through Venasaur's vines. "Now use megahorn Rapidash". Rapidash's horn glowed white and then Rapidash charged straight into Venasaur with her horn. As megahorn was a bug move, it gave real damage to Venasaur. "Now use flamethrower". Rapidash sent a stream of fire at Venasaur. Venasaur got really hurt from the flamethrower and fainted.
Drake returned Venasaur and sent out his fifth pokemon, an Electabuzz. Ash returned Rapidash and sent out Nidoking. "Nidoking's a good choice," said Tracey "because as its part ground type, electric attacks won't work". Drake looked at the two pokemon carefully. "As electric attacks won't work on Nidoking," he said "I will need to attack another way. Electabuzz use ice punch". "Oh no ice beats ground," said Ash "Nidoking use fire punch". Electabuzz's hand turned light blue and went to punch Nidoking, and Nidoking's paws became surrounded in a red-orange fire and he went to punch Electabuzz. The ice punch and fire punch collided with each other, and sent the two pokemon back away from each other. "Use sludge bomb Nidoking" said Ash. Nidoking released big globs of brown sludge from his mouth and fired them at Electabuzz. Drake told Electabuzz to use thunderbolt at the sludge bombs to break the sludge apart. The thunderbolt did succeed of breaking apart some of the big blobs of sludge, but it missed one and the remaining blob of sludge hit Electabuzz. "Now Nidoking use horn drill" said Ash. Nidoking's horn spun like the drill and then Nidoking hit Electabuzz with the horn drill. Electabuzz got defeated in a second by that move.
Drake returned Electabuzz and clung to the pokeball clipped on the necklace round his neck. "Folks here now comes Drake's final pokemon, which he always saves for last," said the announcer "this pokemon is the reason why Drake hasn't been defeated for a while". Drake took the pokeball off the necklace and tossed it. "My last hope, I choose you" he said. Out came Dragonite. "I was afraid of this," said Ash "Nidoking still fit for fighting?" Nidoking nodded. "Okay use sludge bomb". Nidoking fired big blobs of sludge at Dragonite. "Dragonite use ice beam" said Drake. Dragonite fired a beam of ice, from its mouth, at the sludge bomb. The ice beam froze the big blobs of ice and then it hit Nidoking, freezing him in the process. "Oh no!" said Ash, looking at Nidoking in the block of ice. "Now Dragonite use body slam" said Drake. Dragonite flew into the air and slammed into Nidoking's block of ice. Dragonite's body slam not only broke the block of ice, it made Nidoking faint in defeat. "Wow, Dragonite is very strong" said Ash, returning Nidoking. "It's time now, Aerodactyl I choose you". Aerodactyl roared when he came out of the pokeball. "Wow folks," said the announcer "Ash Ketchum has an Aerodactyl". Drake and the audience were surprised. "Aerodactyl use dragon breath" said Ash. Aerodactyl fired at green and yellow beam of air at Dragonite. "Use dragon rage Dragonite" said Drake. Dragonite fired a ball of fire towards the dragon breath and collided with it. "Use ice beam Dragonite". Just as the beam of ice was heading towards Dragonite, Ash commanded Aerodactyl to fly to the sky to get away. Dragonite took off into the sky too. Soon Dragonite and Aerodactyl were throwing attacks at each other in the sky. "I've never seen a battle like this before" said Tracey. "Neither have I," said Misty "we're looking at two mighty dragons battling here". The audience were going wild at this battle.
At this time, Team Rocket was watching the battle. "That Dragonite is stronger than we thought it was" said Jessie. "Should we nab it now?" asked Meowth. "No, no, no," said James "it's not weaken enough yet". Meowth and Jessie understood that.
Dragonite and Aerodactyl were still going on at each other in the sky. "Use ice fang Aerodactyl" said Ash. Ice formed in Aerodactyl's mouth and Aerodactyl bit down on Dragonite. Being an ice type move, ice fang did some damage to Dragonite. "Use hyper beam Dragonite" said Drake. Aerodactyl tried to get away from the hyper beam, but he got it by it and received quite a lot of damage. "Use dragon breath" said Ash. Aerodactyl fired dragon breath at Dragonite, hurting it in the process. "Use body slam Dragonite" said Drake. Dragonite slammed into Aerodactyl, giving it pain, and then Aerodactyl fainted. "Oh man," said Ash "defeating Dragonite is tougher than I thought it would be. But I'm not giving up yet". He returned Aerodactyl and released Kabutops. "Use ice beam Kabutops". Kabutops fired a beam of ice at Dragonite, hurting it in the process. "Use thunder Dragonite" said Drake. Dragonite fired a big beam of electricity at Kabutops and Kabutops got hit by it. As Kabutops was part water type, the thunder move hurt him very much, and then Kabutops fainted.
Meanwhile Jessie and James were getting out of their seats in the stadium. "Now?" asked Meowth. "Now" answered Jessie and James together. It was time for them to put their plan into action. At that time, Ash returned Kabutops to his pokeball. Dragonite was starting to pant with exhaustion. "Since I've got two pokemon left," said Ash "I may be able to finish this, now that Dragonite was getting exhausted". Ash was just about to get another pokeball off his belt, when suddenly an air balloon appeared above the stadium. It was Team Rocket and quick as a flash they flung a net over Dragonite. Team Rocket started laughing of capturing Dragonite. "With this Dragonite, we will be unstoppable" said Jessie. Drake wasn't worried at all. "You know what to do Dragonite" he said calmly. Dragonite cut the net with its wing and then made Team Rocket blast off by slamming into the balloon and bursting it.
With Team Rocket gone, Ash and Drake got back to the battle. Ash sent out Rapidash. "Dragonite use water gun" said Drake. "Use agility Rapidash" said Ash. Rapidash galloped as fast as she could to get away from Dragonite's water gun attack. "Now charge Rapidash". Rapidash charged up to Dragonite and hit it hard with her horn. Drake was getting surprised by this. "Of all the trainers I've ever faced," he said "Ash is the greatest". "Now Rapidash, use flamethrower," said Ash. "Use water gun Dragonite" said Drake. The flamethrower and water gun went at each other, and then the water gun overpowered the flamethrower and struck Rapidash. "Now thunder Dragonite". Dragonite's thunder attack struck Rapidash really hard and then Rapidash fainted. "Now both Ash and Drake are down to only one pokemon left" said the announcer.
Ash turned to Pikachu. "It's up to you now buddy" he said. Pikachu ran onto the battle field, ready to fight. "It's all up to Pikachu now" said Tracey. "This is making me nervous" said Tomo. "All right Pikachu, use your agility" said Ash. "Dragonite stop that Pikachu" said Drake. Even though Pikachu ran as fast as he could, Dragonite managed to hit Pikachu hard with its tail. "You can do it Pikachu" encouraged Ash. Just then Drake commanded Dragonite to use hyper beam. This was bad news for Ash; one hit from that hyper beam would make Ash lose the match. Then Ash had an idea; "Jump Pikachu" he said. After Dragonite released its hyper beam, Pikachu used his tail like a springboard to escape the attack. Dragonite was getting more and more tired. Pikachu jumped onto Dragonite's head and grabbed its two long antennae. Dragonite was tired, but it tried to shake Pikachu off. "Pikachu use thunder" said Ash. Pikachu shocked Dragonite hard with his thunder attack and then fell off Dragonite's head. Both Dragonite and Pikachu were exhausted, and then after a minute of panting and staring at each other, Dragonite fainted.
"Dragonite is unable to battle," said the referee "the winner of the competition is Ash Ketchum". "Amazing folks," said the announcer "the challenger has won the match". "Wow Ash did it" said Misty. "They all did it" said Tracey. "Hooray for my big brother!" cheered Tomo, with Growlithe cheering beside him. Ash walked over to Pikachu and gave him a hug. "We did it buddy" he said. Drake returned Dragonite and praised it for a job well done.
Ash and his pokemon; Pikachu, Kabutops, Espeon, Rapidash, Nidoking and Aerodactyl stood on the winning platform. Drake presented the winner's trophy to Ash. "Ash," he said "you gave me the best battle I've ever had for ages. And you deserve this trophy. You're a great pokemon trainer". "It's all because I have great pokemon" smiled Ash. The audience clapped and cheered for Ash and his pokemon one more time.
And so Ash won the Orange League and earned the winner's trophy and earned a place in the Orange League Hall of Fame. Ash's hand print and his six pokemon's prints were placed on a stone slab, with a picture of them all in front of it. Ash couldn't wait to get home and tell his mum and Prof Oak all about his adventures in the Orange Islands.
Since I didn't use any of Ash's fossil pokemon in the Indigo League, I decided to use Aerodactyl and Kabutops in the Orange League.
