Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user (He'll find out about being a psyphic and Aura user later). I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon don't exist.
Chapter 46
The Whirl Cup
After finally arriving at a place called Scarlet City, at Red Rock Isle, it wasn't long until the Whirl Cup completion started. There lots of posters and banners about; all telling about the Whirl Cup, and a lot of flags with the Whirl Cup symbol. Ash and Misty had to register for the preliminary rounds, which were tomorrow; otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to enter the Whirl Cup. They registered at the pokemon center and Nurse Joy explained to them that they had to win two preliminary rounds to get into the Whirl Cup competition. She also gave them a map of where the several stadiums for the preliminary rounds were, and it also showed where the whirl cup competition will be.
Ash and Misty couldn't wait and promised to meet each other in the competition. Brock was looking at the rule guide. "Listen to this," he said "the rules say that if you lost one match, you will be out of the competition". "That will not happen to us" said Misty. "Yeah we will win our two battles no sweat," said Ash "oh does it say about how many pokemon we have to choose during the Whirl Cup?" Brock looked at the rule book some more. "Well," he said "it says in the first round of the Whirl Cup competition, you only use one water pokemon, just like you do in the preliminaries. In the second and third round you use two water pokemon. And then in the semi-final and final round you use three water pokemon". "Do the pokemon you use have to be the same, through the whole competition?" asked Misty. Brock looked at the book again. "No the challengers can choose whatever water pokemon they want, as long as they have the amount of pokemon they need to use in the challenges" he said. "Hmm that's going to make it hard for me to make up my mind, because I have eleven water pokemon" said Ash. Ash's eleven water pokemon were Blastoise, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Golduck, Kingler, Omastar, Kabutops, two Lapras, Totodile and Lanturn. Even though Omastar and Kabutops were also rock type; they still counted as water type. "How are you going to choose Ash?" asked Tomo. "Well I'll stick with Totodile for the preliminary rounds tomorrow and then figure who to choose later" answered Ash. Ash then suggested that now would be the good idea for him to train his newly captured Lanturn. "Good idea," said Misty "and I will train my Corsola for a bit as well".
The gang went into the pokemon center for a bit. Ash sent his Cyndaquil to Prof Oak for Lanturn. After Ash did that, Misty asked Ash if she could burrow his king's rock for a bit. "Are you going to evolve your two Poliwhirls into Politoeds now?" asked Ash. "Yes, it is time now," said Misty "question is though, who should I mock trade with to get my Poliwhirls to evolve?" Just then a boy, at Misty's age, came up to Misty, and said that he would mock trade with her. The boy's name was Luke and he wanted to evolve his Seadra into a Kingdra and his Poliwhirl into a Politoed. Misty agreed, and so she and Luke headed over two the trading machine. Ash, Tomo and Brock headed over too, because they wanted to watch the trading.
Misty placed both her king's rock and Ash's king's rock onto her two Poliwhirls. Luke's Poliwhirl had a king's rock too and his Seadra was holding a dragon scale. The dragon scale was a blue and yellow scale, which was needed to make Seadra evolve into Kingdra. Soon the trading took place and Misty and Luke sent out the pokemon. Everyone stared in amazement as the three Poliwhirls evolved into Politoeds and the Seadra evolved into Kingdra. "I find the different types of pokemon evolution amazing" said Ash. "So do I" said Tomo. Misty and Luke traded back their pokemon and thanked each other. Misty gave Ash back his king's rock and placed her own king's rock back into her back pack.
With everything now settled, the gang headed off to the ocean, so that Ash and Misty could train their water pokemon for a bit. Misty checked her five water pokemon; Staryu, Corsola, two Politoeds and Croconaw, to see if they were okay. Then it was time for training. Ash had his Totodile practice his egg move dragon claw, and had his Lanturn practice her egg move agility. Misty checked all of her pokemon moves. Apparently her two Politoeds had learnt two new moves; bounce and hyper voice. Ash and Misty went on training their water pokemon and talked about the Whirl cup until it was time for bed. "The preliminary rounds will be a piece of cake tomorrow" said Ash. Misty agreed.
Meanwhile Team Rocket was lurking about in Scarlet City. "So this place is where the Whirl Cup is supposed to be" said Jessie. "So we are going to nick all the water pokemon from the trainers then?" asked Meowth. "Actually I have a better idea" said James. "Oh really, what is it?" asked Jessie. "Well do you guys remember those water pokemon poachers that were arrested two days ago?" said James. Jessie and Meowth nodded. "Well I suggest we do what they did," said James "I mean water pokemon fishing is allowed around here, so we fish a lot of water pokemon here, catch them and then send them to the boss". "I like that idea actually," said Meowth "I mean the other Team Rocket members are always gathering up wild pokemon for the boss". "Yes and since everyone will be busy on the Whirl Cup, no one will be getting in our way then" said Jessie. "Yes, but we will have to dress up in normal fishing clothes though," said James "I mean if we are seen in our Team Rocket uniform, then we will be in trouble". Jessie and Meowth understood. "Oh but where will we get any rods and empty pokeballs from?" said Meowth "we don't have any of those on us". "Not a problem" said James. He presented three rods and a big bag full of empty lure balls. "Where did you get this lot from?" asked Jessie. "I got this from the abandoned storehouse, where those two poachers left their gear," said James "the police didn't know what to do with them. But I, dressed as a normal fisherman, asked them if I could have the rods and lure balls and they agreed". "Bravo James," said Jessie "when shall we start fishing?" "Let's start tomorrow," Meowth suggested "since it's going to be busy gathering the water pokemon, we should get ourselves rested tonight". Jessie and James agreed. "Tomorrow will be a fun day of water pokemon fishing" said Jessie.
The next day the preliminary rounds for the Whirl Cup competition were all underway. Ash was in stadium A and was ready to battle. Tomo, Growlithe and Pikachu were with him, cheering him on. Ash first opponent was a trainer with a Seel and Ash was using Totodile. The other trainer told his Seel to use ice beam, but Totodile easily dodged the ice beam attack. Ash commanded Totodile to use water gun at Seel and Seel got knocked out by the water gun. "One battle down, one more to go" smiled Ash. In Stadium B, Misty was having her first battle in the preliminary rounds. Brock was with her, taking care of Togepi. Misty sent out one of her Politoeds to battle, and her opponent used a Magikarp. Poor Magikarp got beaten by Politoed's mega punch. Back in stadium A, Ash was in his second match. This time he was using Lanturn, and Lanturn's opponent was a Shellder. "Thunderbolt that Shellder Lanturn" said Ash. Lanturn fired a bolt of electricity and Shellder, and Shellder fainted at once. Back at Stadium B, Misty was in her second match. This time she was using Corsola, and Corsola's opponent was a Seaking. "Corsola tackle that Shellder" said Misty. Corsola tackled Seaking hard, and Seaking fainted at once.
The gang met up again at the pokemon center, and Ash and Misty were proud of their wins. "I can't wait for the real Whirl Cup competition to start" said Ash. "So what should we do now?" asked Tomo "I mean the Whirl Cup starts tomorrow". Brock had a thought. "Well I suggest we relax for the rest of the day" he said. The others saw no problem with that. Misty decided to phone her sisters to see how everything was going and to know how her new pokemon were doing. Her sister Daisy told her that she was glad that there was more pokemon for the gym. Brock decided to phone his family as well. His mum said that everyone was okay and that his siblings loved Stantler. Ash and Tomo phoned their mum too to know if her birthday present arrived safely. Delia did receive her gift and thanked her sons.
After the phone calls, they spent the rest of the day resting and looking around Scarlet City. Misty went off to look at things in stores. Brock decided to rest in the pokemon center. Ash, Tomo, Pikachu and Growlithe went off to look for something to eat. Ash was still in thought about which water pokemon to choose, but he decided to wait till the competition started to really make up his mind. Hours later it was time for bed. The gang were at the pokemon center getting ready for bed, but Ash and Misty felt too excited to sleep. Brock had to reassure them that if they didn't sleep now, they might not have the energy to compete in the Whirl Cup, so everyone went to sleep at once.
Next day it was the day of the Whirl Cup. Those who made it pass the preliminary rounds all gathered at a cliff. Below there was an ancient coliseum, in the ocean, covered up by water. Suddenly the water in the ocean went down, and the coliseum completely revealed itself with seats and a battle ground. "Wow so this is the Whirl Cup Coliseum" said Brock. "It's awesome" said Tomo. "And it's where we battle Misty" said Ash. Misty nodded in agreement.
Soon the opening ceremony started. The trainers that were participating in the competition were introduced in the coliseum, on boats. Brock and Tomo sat on the seats with hundreds of other people in the audience seats. Those who didn't pass the preliminary rounds also sat in the seats to watch the competition. Just then a beautiful sea priestess named Maya got up from her seat, which was on top of the coliseum. She was holding a golden sceptre, with a big blue orb, in her hand, known as the sea spirit. The story about the sea spirit was that it would give the owner the ability to communicate with all water pokemon. "I greet you all here to the Whirl Cup," said Maya "I wish all you trainers luck on gaining the title 'water pokemon alpha omega'. Now let the Whirl Cup Competitions begin". Maya held up her sceptre towards the sun, and then a magical blue light surrounded the area, finishing the opening ceremony.
Apparently there was another prize to be given to the winner. The winner would also receive a pendant called the mystic water pendant. Brock found out that a mystic water pendant can power up water type moves. "Hey that's like my metal coat that can power up steel type moves," said Ash "if I win that pendant, I could make a collection of items that power up pokemon moves". "If I win that pendant, I would wear it around my neck at all times," said Misty "and make my sisters jealous of my success of a water pokemon trainer". "Those sound like great plans guys," said Brock "but we better get going. The matches are about to begin soon". So the gang headed off for the coliseum at once.
Sure enough it was time for the battles in the first round to begin. The battle began with an Azumaril facing a Wartortle. Wartortle got defeated by Azumarill's bubblebeam attack, earning Azumarill's trainer right to the second rounds. Misty was very excited about watching all the matches between water pokemon because she loved water pokemon very much. She especially couldn't wait for her turn to battle, which was tomorrow; the first round matches lasted for two days because there were 64 competitors in the Whirl Cup.
The next match was Ash against a trainer named Christopher. Christopher was a fisher type pokemon trainer and he had a lure ball attached to his fishing rod. Ash sent out his Totodile to battle, and Christopher's pokemon was a Kingdra. "We better watch out for Kingdra," Ash said to himself "Kingdra is part dragon as well as part water type. But I won't let that stop me and Totodile has the move to beat that pokemon". Ash commanded Totodile to bite Kingdra. Christopher told his Kingdra to dive into the water to dodge. When Kingdra dived, Totodile missed Kingdra and landed into the water. "Kingdra use twister now" said Christopher. Kingdra spun into the water, creating a big whirlpool in the water. Totodile got caught in the twister attack and kept on getting spun round. "Use dragon claw Totodile" said Ash. Totodile's right hand claws glowed blue and then Totodile scratched at the twister, breaking it apart. Totodile landed back into the water. "Clever move," said Christopher "but I'm not beaten yet, Kingdra use hydro pump on Totodile". Kingdra released a powerful blast of water towards Totodile. "Quick, dodge it and then use ice fang" said Ash. Totodile dived under to dodge the hydro pump attack. Then with his mouth glowing blue, Totodile swam up to Kingdra and bit down on it. When Totodile bit Kingdra, ice started to form around Kingdra.
"Ice fang is an ice type move," explained Brock "and it has the ability to freeze an opponent. Just like how fire fang burns an opponent and thunder fang paralyzes an opponent". Misty was impressed with Totodile and how well Ash had trained it.
Christopher wasn't giving up. He ordered Kingdra to use headbutt on Totodile. Kingdra managed to knock Totodile of it and head-butted Totodile good. "Totodile you oaky?" asked Ash. Totodile wasn't giving up on fighting. Suddenly Totodile began to glow. "Totodile is evolving!" gasped Ash. Everyone stared in amazement as Totodile evolved into Croconaw. The crowd went wild with the evolution and even Maya was amazed by the evolution.
Ash looked at Croconaw on the pokedex: Croconaw, the big jaw pokemon. The evolved form of Totodile. Once it bites down, it won't let go until it loses its fangs. New fangs quickly grow into place
Ash also discovered that Croconaw now knew aqua tail and hydro pump. "Okay Croconaw use hydro pump" he said. Croconaw blasted a powerful hydro pump at Kingdra and Kingdra got hit by it. "Now use dragon claw" said Ash. Croconaw's hands turned blue and then he scratched Kingdra really hard. As dragon claw was a dragon type move, it had a great effect on Kingdra as dragon type moves are strong against dragon type pokemon. Kingdra fainted, earning Ash the victory and rights to go to the second round. Ash and Croconaw hugged each other.
"Ash and Croconaw were great out there" said Brock. Tomo was cheering for his brother and Pikachu and Growlithe were cheering for Ash too. "It makes me excited for my turn to battle tomorrow" said Misty.
Meanwhile Jessie, James and Meowth were starting to fish for water type pokemon at a fishing spot. Jessie had her Cloyster out to get ready to weaken the caught water pokemon. James also had his Gloom out. Meowth was getting the lure balls ready to be used. There were fifty one lure balls in total. Just then he smelt something from one of the lure balls. "Hey guys, there is a pokemon in this lure ball?" he said. "Are you sure Meowth," said James "I thought all the lure balls were empty". "Well, all the other balls are but this one has a pokemon inside, I can smell it," said Meowth "I guess this pokemon must have been left behind". "That's great," said Jessie "that means we can have on our team then. Question is who should have it?". "Well since this fishing for pokemon was my idea, and I'm the one who got us the rods and lure balls, this pokemon should be mine to keep" said James. Jessie and Meowth saw the point and gave the lure ball to James. James released the pokemon and the pokemon turned out to be a Chinchou. "My very own water and electric type pokemon" said James, and he returned it. "Chinchou will be very useful for us". Then he, Jessie and Meowth started to fish for water pokemon.
That evening, the gang were at the pokemon center. Ash was having Nurse Joy check-up his Croconaw. Misty had her Corsola checked too, because she decided to use Corsola in her match tomorrow. "Excited about tomorrow Misty?" asked Ash. "Very," replied Misty "and I'll be advancing to the second round too".
The next day was the next batch of matches in the second round, and it was now Misty's turn. Her opponent was a man names Harrison. Misty sent out her Corsola and Harrison sent out his pokemon; a Quilfish. "Misty better be careful," said Ash, who was now sitting in the seats, "I mean Quilfish is a poison type as well as a water type". "That's true," said Brock "but I'm sure Misty will know what to do against that Quilfish, after all she does have a Quilfish herself". "That's true" said Ash.
Soon the match had started. Harrison told his Quilfish to use water gun on Corsola. But Misty told her Corsola to use mirror coat and the water gun bounced back at Quilfish. "All right then, we shall do this then," said Harrison "use your pin missile attack Quilfish". Quilfish began to swallow a lot of water, and began to blow up like a balloon. "I know what it's doing," said Misty to herself "in order to use its spikes, it gathers up a lot of water to give more power and speed to its spikes. Corsola defend your-self with spike cannon". Corsola started to shoot out her spike cannon attack. At that time though, Harrison's Quilfish started to fire its pin missile attack. The spike cannon and pin missile attacks collided with each other and then Corsola and Quilfish got thrown back. Both Corsola and Quilfish started to feel weak. "Corsola use recover" said Misty. Corsola started to heal herself. "Time to finish this off," said Harrison "use poison jab". Quilfish's spikes turned purple and then it swam over to Corsola to tackle it. Misty knew very well that Corsola may end up poisoned from that attack. "Corsola dodge it". Just as Quilfish was about to tackle Corsola, Corsola managed to dive under the water. Funny thing was that once Corsola and Quilfish came out of the water, Quilfish had caught itself between Corsola's horns and couldn't get off. Misty saw this as a chance to fight back. "Spike cannon" she said. Corsola fired her spike cannon and the spikes made Quilfish fly up into the air and crash back down into the water. Quilfish fainted, earning Misty the victory and rights to go to the second round. "I love you Corsola!" cheered Misty.
"Wow that was a close match" said Ash. "Certainly was" said Brock. "I wonder what the next battle will be like" said Tomo.
That evening, all the matches for the first round of the Whirl Cup were over with and everyone were looking forward to the second matches tomorrow. "I can't wait for tomorrow" said Ash. "Me neither," said Misty "I bet the matches tomorrow will be great, like they were today and yesterday". Brock reminded them that they now used two pokemon for the second round. "I'll think about my two pokemon tonight" said Ash. "Yeah me too" replied Misty. Just then the results of who was battling who tomorrow was up. To the gang's surprise, Ash and Misty would be facing each other tomorrow. Ash and Misty stared at each other. "Well I guess we better give all that we got tomorrow Misty" said Ash. "Yes and no holding back either" replied Misty.
Next day it was time for the second round matches in the Whirl Cup. Right now it was Ash's and Misty's turn against each other. "I warn you Ash," said Misty "I won't be backing down just because we're friends". "Neither will I Misty" said Ash. "I can't wait to see how this battle will turn out" said Brock. "I don't know who to root for, either Ash or Misty" said Tomo. Pikachu and Togepi didn't know who to root for either. "Did Ash make up his mind last night of which two pokemon to use Tomo?" asked Brock. "Yes he did," said Tomo "he swapped his Croconaw and Lanturn for two different water pokemon from Prof Oak's lab this morning. I don't which two though".
Misty sent out one of her Politoed's to battle. Ash sent out his Golduck to battle. "I'm using some of my old water pokemon" said Ash. Misty was surprised, but was not scared. "Politoed use bubble attack" she said. Politoed started to spray his bubbles at Golduck. "Counter with blizzard Golduck" said Ash. Golduck opened his mouth and released a blizzard at the bubble attack. Politoed's bubbles got frozen by the blizzard and fell into the water. "That was a brilliant defence strategy," said Misty "but we are not beaten yet. Politoed use bounce". Politoed bounced into the air and stuck one of his legs out, ready to kick Golduck. "Quick Golduck use disable" said Ash. Golduck's eyes turned blue and then a blue light surrounded Politoed, stopping it from trying to kick Golduck. "Oh no, Politoed's in trouble" said Misty. "Now Golduck use hydro pump" said Ash. Golduck released a powerful blast of water at Politoed, and Politoed got hit by it. "Are you okay Politoed?" asked Misty, worriedly. Politoed was okay, but a bit shaken. "Okay Politoed us water gun". Politoed blasted his water gun attack at Golduck. "Dive into the water Golduck" said Ash. Golduck dived down into the water and dodged the water gun. "Get into the water too Politoed and use double slap" said Misty. Politoed jumped into the water and swam over to Golduck to use double slap. But then Ash commanded Golduck to use focus punch. Golduck punched Politoed out of the water and then Politoed landed on a stone platform and fainted. Misty returned Politoed. "Ash is good," said Misty "but I'm not beaten yet".
Misty sent out Corsola to battle next. "Corsola use icicle spear" she said. Corsola fired multiple little spear shaped ice shards at Golduck, and Golduck got hit by them. "Hang in there Golduck" said Ash. "Alright use bubblebeam Corsola" said Misty. Corsola fired a lot of bubbles at Golduck, which hit Golduck directly. "Now tackle it Corsola". Corsola swam over to Golduck really fast and tackled him. Poor Golduck didn't get the chance to defend itself and fainted. "Oh no Golduck" said Ash, and returned him. Now both Misty and Ash had one more pokemon each.
Ash sent out Lapras next. The crowd were impressed to see a Lapras. "Lapras use ice shard" said Ash. Lapras opened his mouth and fired lots of shards of ice at Corsola. "Quick dodge them Corsola" said Misty. Corsola dived into the water and dodged the ice shard attack. "Get into the water too Lapras," said Ash "and then use confuse ray". Lapras dived into the water, and then his eyes turned purple and released a purple ray at Corsola. Misty tried to tell Corsola to quickly get out of the water to dodge it, but it was too late; Corsola ended up on a stone tablet completely confused. "Now it's time to use your very special move Lapras," said Ash "use solar beam". Lapras got out of the water, opened his mouth and started gathering sunlight energy.
Everyone in the crowd couldn't believe their eyes once they saw Lapras starting to use solar beam. Even Maya and her maidens were astonished that Ash's Lapras knew solar beam. "How did Lapras learn to use solar beam?" asked Brock. "I don't know" said Tomo.
Misty was speechless herself that Ash's Lapras knew solar beam, because she had never seen a Lapras use solar beam before. But then she remembered the battle. "Corsola try to use spike cannon on Lapras" she said. Corsola tried to use spike cannon, but it was too confused to do anything. At that second Lapras released his solar beam attack at Corsola, and Corsola got a direct hit from it. As solar beam was a grass move, poor Corsola fainted a once from the attack; being a rock and water type. So Ash won the battle and earned his rights in the third round. "You were great Lapras" said Ash. Lapras swam up to Ash and nuzzled him. Everyone in the stadium clapped for Ash and Misty.
That evening in the pokemon center, Misty, Brock and Tomo asked Ash how his Lapras learnt solar beam. "Well believe it or not," said Ash "Prof Oak told me that both Lapras and his mum learnt solar beam from some of the grass pokemon at his lab. The grass pokemon were learning and practicing solar beam, and Lapras and his mum ended up learning and practicing solar beam along with them". "Wow that's incredible" said Tomo. "Well they do say that pokemon make great teachers for other pokemon" said Brock. "It makes me think that I should ask my Bellosom to teach my Lapras solar beam, because Bellosom knows solar beam" said Misty.
At that moment a young woman came up to the gang. Her name was Trinity and she was Ash's next opponent in the third rounds tomorrow. "I've seen your matches Ash," said Trinity "and you are quite the pokemon trainer". "I've seen your matches too Trinity," said Ash "and you're great too. I can't wait for our battle tomorrow". "Neither can I Ash," said Trinity "neither can I".
Meanwhile Jessie and James were still fishing for water pokemon. So far they had captured twenty four water pokemon; eight Starmie, seven Seaking and nine Mantine. "We sure are doing well for ourselves of catching water pokemon" said Meowth. "Yes and with this lot, we will get paid in no time" said James. Suddenly he got a bite and reeled in the caught pokemon. But it was a shock though; he had caught a Gyarados. James quickly told his Chinchou to use spark on Gyarados, before Gyarados had a chance to attack. Gyarados got really shocked by Chinchou and James caught it in a lure ball. "From now on, no more catching any Gyarados" said Jessie, who was breathing in sock. "I agree" sighed James.
Next day, it was the third rounds of the Whirl Cup. Ash and Trinity took their place on the stadium because it was now their turn. "I fear that Ash may have some trouble battling with Trinity," said Misty "I mean her water pokemon are really tough". "Yeah, but don't forget that Ash's water pokemon are strong too" said Brock. Misty saw the point. "I wonder what pokemon both Ash and Trinity will use" she said.
Trinity sent out a Gyarados. Ash smiled. "Good thing that I decided to go with this pokemon then," he said "I choose you Lanturn". Ash's Lanturn was ready to fight. "Lanturn use charge" said Ash. The two orbs of Lanturn's glowed yellow, and then Lanturn got surrounded by little yellow sparks. By using charge, Lanturn's electric moves got powered up a bit. "Gyarados hyper beam" said Trinity. Gyarados fired an orange beam from its mouth towards Lanturn. "Quick dodge under water" said Ash. Lanturn managed to dive just before the hyper beam could hit him. "All right Lanturn now use thunderbolt". Lanturn used thunderbolt, while still underwater. The thunderbolt went everywhere in the water and Gyarados got really shocked. "Oh no Gyarados" said Trinity. "Now finish it off with take-down Lanturn" said Ash. Lanturn tackled Gyarados hard and then Gyarados fainted on the spot.
Trinity returned Gyarados and called out her next pokemon, a Chinchou. "This battle will certainly be interesting," said Misty "especially since Chinchou is the pre-evolved from of Lanturn". "I agree," said Brock "and since they are both water and electric, this will be a good fight". "You can do it Ash!" shouted Tomo.
Now the match had begun. "Lanturn use ice beam" said Ash. Lanturn fired a beam of ice towards Chinchou. "Dodge it Chinchou" said Trinity. Chinchou dived into the water, and the ice beam missed. Lanturn dived into the water next. "Chinchou use spark" said Trinity. Chinchou released sparks of electricity in the water and they did hit Lanturn. But instead of hurting Lanturn, it was in fact healing Lanturn. "Sorry Trinity," said Ash "but my Lanturn has the ability volt absorb". Trinity was surprised by that.
In the stands Tomo and Misty were asking Brock what volt absorb was. "Volt absorb is the ability, which recovers the pokemon if it's been hit by an electrical move". "So that means using electrical attacks on Lanturn is useless" said Misty.
Ash attacked next; he commanded Lanturn to use ice beam again. This time Chinchou did get hit by the attack and it got frozen by the ice. "No Chinchou" said Trinity. "Now finish this off with hydro pump Lanturn" said Ash. Lanturn fired a powerful blast of water at Chinchou. Chinchou got thrown back into the wall of the stadium and fainted. So Ash was the winner and had the rights to battle in the fourth rounds tomorrow.
After the third rounds were over, Ash met with Trinity at the pokemon center. "Your Lanturn was really strong out there Ash" said Trinity. "Thanks Trinity, your Gyarados and Chinchou were great too" said Ash. "I'll be rooting for you in the fourth, semi and final rounds Ash" replied Trinity.
At the time Jessie, James and Meowth had finished catching water pokemon with the lure balls. So now they had captured fifty water pokemon; they had now captured ten Octillery, six Corsola, six Tentacruel and three Quilfish. "Phew, I never thought that fishing would be exhausting" Jessie panted. "Yeah but I last we can give all these fifty water pokemon to the boss," said Meowth, staring at the lure balls, "and the best part is that no one, not even the twerps got in our way". "I agree" said Jessie. James suggested that they and their pokemon get rested at the pokemon center. "If we keep our disguises on, no one will recognize us and both us and our pokemon will be able to eat and sleep in peace" he said. "Yeah, and we won't need to pay for a room and meal" said Jessie. So the trio went to the pokemon center for a meal and to sleep for the night. Meowth also decided to get some medical treatment along with Jessie's Arbok, Cloyster, Wobbuffet and Granbull, and James' Weezing, Gloom, Victreebel, Skiploom and Chinchou. But James warned Meowth to not speak a word; otherwise he would give the game away, so Meowth didn't speak a word while getting treatment.
(Time Skip)
Today was now the final match of the Whirl Cup and Ash had just entered the arena. He had made it passed the fourth round and the semi-final and had now made it to the finals. His last opponent was named Bert and was ready to battle. Trinity was seating in the stands with Tomo, Misty and Brock. "I can't wait to see how this battle will turn out," said Trinity "I mean Ash has done really well throughout the Whirl Cup competition". "I agree," said Misty "and if he wins this match he will become the 'water pokemon alpha omega'". Bert sent out his first pokemon; a Feraligatr and Ash sent out his Gyarados.
(Another time skip)
That evening it was now the closing ceremony of the Whirl Cup competition. Ash had beaten Bert in the match and became the winner and Bert was in second place. "Your pokemon were great Ash," Bert said to him "your Omastar, Blastoise, and especially your Gyarados. I was surprised that you had taught your Gyarados how to use thunderbolt". "I had a thought that thunderbolt would be useful for my Gyarados, especially when she's battling other water pokemon," said Ash "which is why I had her learn that move". "Well I congratulate you for winning the Whirl Cup" said Bert. He and Ash shook hands. Maya presented the mystic water pendant to Ash, and everyone in the stands, and the other participants on boats, clapped for Ash and his victory. Ash was happy with his victory, and was proud to earn the title 'water pokemon alpha omega'. Maya gave her final speech. "Oh great sea spirit and past heroes of the sea," she said "continue to watch over the whirl cup competition, and safeguard the harmony of humans and pokemon alike". The orb in her sceptre glowed blue towards the sun and gave off another blue light within the arena, closing off the closing ceremony.
The next day, Trinity and the gang were looking at the coliseum one more time. By now the coliseum was flooded again. "I'm glad I entered the Whirl Cup," said Ash "not only was it fun, it also helped me and my pokemon become stronger". "Same with me," said Misty "it helped feel stronger as a water pokemon trainer". Trinity said that she was going to trainer harder for the next Whirl Cup competition. The gang said goodbye to Trinity and left Scarlet City to continue their journey, with many memories of the Whirl Cup competition.
I always think that Misty's Poliwhirl was a bit late in the series, so I had it done early. I know Jessie, James and Meowth were only interested in getting the sea spirit sceptre, but I did say that I would have trio smarter in this story. I thought that Chinchou suits James. I taught a Lapras of mine, in pokemon yellow, the tm solar beam, so I decided to have Ash's Lapras like that. It never reveals the name of the Whirl Cup winner in the anime, so I decided to name him myself.
