The Smog Monster.

Ruiko was laying in her bed, trying her best to sleep. But it was not easy, she was still shaken from her encounter with Godzilla. She saw herself standing in a burning city block, trying to find her friends. And she did see them... Kazari... Kuroko... and even the legendary Mikoto... were all dead. Kazari was buried under rubble, Kuroko had been split in half, and Mikoto was just a smocking husk. Ruiko fell to her knees, shaking violently from the sight of her dead friends... but then she heard something. She looked up and she saw him. Godzilla was looking down at her. His eyes burning like the eyes of a demon. He growled at her before opening his mouth and Ruiko was engulfed by flames.

Ruiko screamed as she sat up breathing hard. It took a few moments for her to realize she was in her bed and when she looked around she just saw her room. Nothing out of the ordinary. It was just a nightmare... one of many she's had for the last few days. She got out of her bed to splash some cold water in her face. Her nightmares had not gotten any easier. She still had no idea how she survived her encounter with Godzilla. Her being alive was an miracle in every sense of the word. But she was scared that if the monster ever returned, she might not be so lucky.

"Just... what is that thing?" She wondered to herself. She had given up on trying to go back asleep, if she tried she would just have another nightmare again.

So she went to her window and looked outside. She could still see the damage in the distance. Way to close for comfort, she still had no idea how she was allowed to go back to her dorm room, which luckily hadn't been damaged by the attack. And she remembered Godzilla draining the reactor, which forced the entire city block to run on emergency power. Luckily it should be enough until a proper power station can be built. But what's stopping Godzilla from coming back and drain it again? They had no idea how powerful that monster was... but they were about to get a taste.

Elsewhere the army was driving through an area. Of course Godzilla's return would lead to the army getting involved. And finding the massive monster wasn't hard, for obvious reasons. Godzilla was sleeping near a mountain but woke up when he heard the army arrive. He stood up and let out a roar. A warning, telling them not to come any closer. But sadly, the arrogance of humans would lead them to believing they could just kill him on the spot.

When it became clear they weren't going to leave, Godzilla began advancing on them. They waited until he was within range, before unleashing everything they had on the massive creature. Godzilla wasn't even trying to dodge the attacks and everything was a direct hit. Even the least accurate weapons hit him, his large size making him an easy target. Explosions and smoke began filling the area, and the dark knight didn't make things any easier. They continued to fire until they couldn't seen Godzilla anymore, only then did they stop.

A couple of moments passed before Godzilla burst through the smoke and slammed his large foot down, creating an earth shattering shock wave that sent the nearby tanks and missiles launchers flying and crashing. Godzilla then used his tail to swipe several vehicles away, some exploding from the impact, before Godzilla slammed his tail down, crushing the remaining ground forces. The helicopters were flying around him, firing everything they had at him. But he merely growled as he took a breath before letting out a powerful roar. The pressure from his roar hit the helicopters like a hurricane, causing them to spin out of control and crashing in to the ground.

Godzilla looked around at the carnage he had caused, despite their best efforts, the soldiers hadn't even scratched his skin. Godzilla didn't let out any victory roar, the foolish humans hadn't even managed to be a minor annoyance to him. He didn't even need to use any of his true power to kill them all. He just snarled before walking away.

From the distance, the reporter Yuri had been filming the whole event from a helicopter she hired. She was very aware that what she did was stupid and dangerous, but Godzilla's return was the perfect way to make her low budget news station in to one of the biggest names in the industry. She was shaking so much she could barely hold her camera straight. She had gotten more footage than she bargained for. It was such a horrific sight. An entire military forced, brought down like nothing.

"Maybe... a god incarnate wasn't over exaggerated after all. Take us closer, we need to see if anyone survived" Yuri told the pilot who nodded, since it should be safe to go there now that Godzilla had moved on.

But it was safe to say that anyone who saw this would never forget it. Only question is how much footage she would even be allowed to show.

The following morning, Mikoto and Kuroko were having breakfast, until they noticed the news on a TV where Yuri was reporting everything that happened last night "This is only some of the footage I am allowed to show. But I can tell you all, it's even worse than it looks. Despite my best efforts, no one survived the horrific battle against Gojira. I can't not tell you for certain what all this means for the rest of the country, all I can do is hope our leaders can come up with a way to stop Gojira before he causes any more chaos".

"It's horrible..." Mikoto said sadly.

"All those brave soldiers... all of them lost" Kuroko said as she closed her eyes.

Mikoto looked at her tea, which she hadn't even touched since the news came on "I wish there was something we could do to help. But that thing didn't even flinch from the fill might of the military. How could we possibly stop something like that?".

Kuroko sighed at that "I don't know One-Sama... I just... don't know...".

They sat in silence for a moment before they put their hands together and began to silently pray. A silent prayer for the poor souls that were lost in the futile attempt to stop the monster. And as much as they hated to admit it. This was something not even a level 5 could stop... maybe not even the strongest among them.

Back at Ruiko's apartment, she saw the news on her phone and sighed as she headed to the bathroom to get washed up. Despite her lack of sleep, she needed to get ready. She washed herself for a bit before she suddenly stopped and began to cough violently, to the point some blood fell in to the sink. She looked at in horror. It happened once before, but she didn't tell anyone because she didn't want to worry them. But it was starting to look bad.

She suddenly heard a knock on the door and quickly wiped the blood away before running over to answer it "Uiharu! Hi".

Kazari looked at her for a moment before she blushed "Umm, Saten... you do know answering the door when you are barely wearing anything isn't the best idea?".

Ruiko blinked before she looked down and blushed bright red when she noticed she was only wearing panties. The rest of her body, including her small breasts, were completely exposed. She quickly pulled Kazari inside and closed the door. First a bad night, now an embarrassing morning.

"Sorry about that, my mind is a mess right now" Ruiko said.

"Trouble sleeping?" Kazari asked as se noticed the bags under Ruiko's eyes.

"Yeah... that monster didn't give me many chances for a good night sleep" Ruiko admitted.

"I don't blame you. You saw that thing up close and personal... Saten are you sure the lack of sleep is all that is troubling you? You look really pale" Kazari said in clear concern.

"I'll be fine, I'm just-" Before Ruiko could answer she let out a violent coughing fit... and once again blood started to come out.

"Saten!" Kazari said as she quickly caught her best friend as she collapsed to her knees "Saten! Ruiko! What is wrong!?".

Ruiko couldn't answer as she held her chest in pain, blood still trailing down her face. Kazari quickly pulled out her phone and called for help. After several agonizing minutes, Ruiko was wheeled of to an ambulance. During the wait Kazari had contacted their remaining friends who thankfully wasn't to far away by the time Ruiko began coughing blood, so they arrived just as the ambulance drove away with Ruiko.

"Uiharu! What happened?" Mikoto asked in concern.

"I don't know. One moment Ruiko told me she was suffering from the lack of sleep, then she suddenly began coughing blood. I have no idea what caused it" Kazari explained.

Kuroko was worried about her friend, but she still tried to think for a moment "Hey, has any of you noticed that Saten has seemed to be rather sick recently".

Mikoto looked at her roommate as she began to think herself "Yeah... now that you mention it, her health did seem to be declining. She kept telling us she was just having trouble sleeping, but I didn't know she was actually sick".

"But that does not explain what caused it" Kuroko said.

Kazari suddenly gasped "Gojira!".

The other two girls looked at her, with Mikoto being the one to speak "What does that monster have to do with Ruiko being sick?".

"She was close to it. Closer than anyone. She was practically face to face with it... what if there is something about the monster that makes it dangerous to even be close to it?" Kazari asked.

"Could Gojira be radioactive? No that can't be it, there were no reports of any radiation in the area after he showed up" Kuroko said.

"But Saten's sickness didn't start until after her encounter with it. So it's not impossible that her sickness was caused by Gojira" Mikoto said.

"Only way to find out is to go to the Hospital and see what the doctors say" Kuroko declared.

Her friends nodded in agreement. And they began heading for he hospital. Hoping for answers and that their friend would be alright.

Meanwhile. Back at the research facility that were developing new means to fight pollution had been thrown in to chaos. The stuff they created to get rid of the pollution in the water had somehow come alive and was spreading across the entire facility.

People were running for their lives, but most were covered by the disgusting slime of the beast and screamed in pain as she could feel their bodies melting away from the toxic substance. Even those who managed to avoid being directly touched by it, would suffocate due to toxic fumes. Not matter where they ran, they were doomed to die.

A woman hid inside a safe room that were meant to protect the workers in case a fire broke out. She thought she was safe but then she looked up to see the reinforced door fall of its hinges. She saw the substance she had helped create... then she looked shocked as she saw something that looked like a red eye opening up.

"We... created a new life form" The woman whispered. An achievement she could've been proud of... if not for the fact that the life form they created melted her down to a skeleton.

Soon the new life form broke out of the facility allowing itself to form in to a hideous looking creature with two red eyes. It let out some sounds before it began to slither away. It needed to find more pollution so it could grow stronger.

Japan had no idea that Godzilla was not the only monster to watch out for now.
