An Unexpected Development.

1 month has passed since the girls had joined G-Force. During that time they had been put through some rough training, in order to prepare them for the day when they would need to fight Kaijus. Godzilla had been rather quiet lately, with no major sightings or attacks. They needed to take full advantage of this calm times. If Godzilla emerges again, they need to be ready. They spent some time learning martial arts from Monique, not really sure how hand to hand combat would help her against monsters, but they learned the hard way to never ask to many questions. They had an easier time practicing with technology alongside Randy and Mendel, since they were told that knowing the G-Force technology would benefit them a lot. They also had to learn more about biology from Nick and Elsie.

During their time at G-Force, the girls had gone through some physical changes. All of them were more muscular, even Kazari who had finally pushed past her lacking physique and could do more than one push up now. Ruiko had also cut her hair, so it was about the same length as how Mikoto's hair used to be. As for Mikoto herself, her hair had grown longer, and she was now keeping it in a pony tail. Kuroko's hair was mostly the same, as she refused to change it. But their training was paying of, since they felt like they were growing stronger and smarter... ignoring the major body pain and headaches.

Right now, Mikoto was in her room. It was not as cozy as he school dorm, but it was good enough. She was laying on her bed while talking to a special person on the phone. Someone she rarely sees, and thanks to her new training, rarely speaks to anymore.

"No really, Mama. I am fine, I've just been busy with a lot of extra work" Mikoto said.

She was speaking to her mother. Misuzu Misaka, an ever youthful woman in appearance, she is often mistaken to be a lot younger that she really is, with even Ruiko thinking she was Mikoto's older sister at first. She is like the polar opposite of Mikoto, both in personality and looks. While Mikoto is mostly serious, more mature and responsible, Misuzu is irresponsible, laid-back and sometimes child-like. Which bothers Mikoto a lot. She wears clothes and products that are mostly meant for teens. She also has a large bust while her daughter has smaller breasts, which Mikoto is self-conscious about, and she secretly wished she had inherited some bust size from her mother. She teases Mikoto a lot about that. In spite of this, she truly cares for her daughter. She even became part of an Recovery Movement, where parents and guardians demanded their children back from Academy City. She is currently studying in a university, and while they don't talk to often, they do their best to remain in touch.

"If you say so sweetie. Still I haven't even spoken to you in so long. I'm starting to get worried of what is really happening in Academy City. And I keep hearing on the news that some kind of monster attacked" Misuzu said. Only so long one can cover up the existence of a giant monster before people find out.

"Oh, that... not going to lie, it did happen. But no worries, I am fine. My dorm was far away from the attack zone" Mikoto assured, not wanting to tell her mother she tried to fight Godzilla and was almost killed by him.

"That is a relief. I can't imagine what I would do if you were caught up in something so horrible" Misuzu said. Her lack of teasing showed she was truly worried about her daughter's well being.

Mikoto felt a little guilty for having to lie to her mother, but she was told that she could only contact her family as long as she don't reveal anything "I'm fine, really. So how is Papa doing?".

Mikoto's father was Tabigake Misaka. A man who carries himself with an air that would befit someone that would look at home in the back alleys and someone who would get people in trouble if he is approached. But all that was far from true, Tabigake is actually a good man who carries no money with him, he loves his family, and someone who helps people out. He is currently traveling around the world to find its flaws and correct them. Mikoto sees and speaks to him even less than she does with her mom. It's been a long time since she last saw her father.

"Oh, that man is still the same. Traveling the world to correct his flaws. Sometimes I really worry that he is getting himself in to trouble somewhere" Misuzu said in good nature.

"Funny, I often feel the same way about you. Given your drinking habits and how easily you can be swindled" Mikoto said with some humor.

"Oh don't be such a nag Mikoto. It's supposed to be the mother that is nagging on her daughter, not the other way around" Misuzu said with a small chuckle.

Mikoto giggled a little "Maybe I am the mother. Maybe something happened and we switched bodies and began living each other's lives".

Misuzu laughed a little at that "Well I sure wouldn't mind being your age again. Life was so much easier back then".

"Sure... easy" Mikoto said, knowing for a fact that in Academy City, it doesn't matter what age you are, you are bound to encounter a lot of hardships.

"Are you sure you are ok, Mikoto? You sound worried" Misuzu said.

"Oh, sorry. Just tired from all the work. I have to studie so much it barely leaves enough time for anything else. And if I fail, all that work will be wasted" Mikoto said, she was speaking half truth. Her training had taken up most of her time and she was secretly scared of the moment where she would need to face Godzilla again.

"You are a smart girl, Mikoto. I know you can make it" Misuzu assured.

"Thank you Mama..." Mikoto said, doing her best to not become to emotional.

"I wish we could talk more, but I'm afraid my break is over. I will try to get in touch with you again as soon as possible. Good luck Mikoto, I love you" Misuzu said.

"Love you too Mama" Mikoto said before they hung up. After that Mikoto finally allowed herself to cry a little. She never believed she would miss her mother's childish antics and relentless teasing "Mama...".

Meanwhile, Ruiko was exploring the base. Being the curious girl she is, she spent a lot of her free time trying to discover any hidden secrets about the base as she could. She noticed a room that labeled Authorized Personnel Only. She hit the jackpot, now how does she get a look inside? By waiting for someone to either enter or exit the room of course. She waited and sure enough someone came walking out of the room, and Ruiko used a move that Monique taught her to sneak inside without anyone noticing. Ruiko made sure to hide before looking around. She had entered some kind of research lab, there was a ton of weird stuff around. Ruiko waited to make sure the coast was clear before she began taking a closer look at what was in there.

"Wicked stuff. Just what are they doing in here?" Ruiko wondered before she noticed something that made her eyes wide "Wow...".

What she saw was utterly amazing... it was an egg! But not an ordinary egg, but a giant egg. It was even bigger than Ruiko, heck it was bigger than a grown man. Where on earth did they find this thing? Ruiko had to get a closer look! She didn't care if she got in to trouble for this, she needed to see it. She walked closer to the egg and checked it out. The others were going to freak when they heard about this. Ruiko kept on looking at the egg until she heard someone comming. She looked around and the only hiding spot she found was behind the egg. She hid quickly until she heard the voice of Miki.

"Still no changes I see. You keep remaining unresponsive. I wonder what you could be. We thought you could potentially be one of Gojira's offsprings but I can tell that is not the case. I can feel that there is something different about you. You are not like Gojira at all... but what is keeping you from hatching? I can feel you are in perfect health... maybe you just need some motivation... someone to tell you it's time to come out" Miki spoke to herself, but she suddenly got a call "Yes? Already? Alright I will be there soon" Se hung up and sighed "Sorry little one, I need to go. But I will be back later".

Ruiko waited until she was sure that Miki was gone before coming out of hiding. Ruiko looked at the egg and wondered what all that was about. So it wasn't a Godzilla egg. Good to know. One Godzilla in the world is already one too many. So, according to Miki, this egg was ready to hatch, the little one just needed a little push. Ruiko shrugs, and decided to try something just for the fun of it. She put a hand on the egg.

"Alright little one, wakey wakey" She said, and suddenly the egg began to crack making her jump back "No way! That did not just work! Or did I break it?! Oh No! I am sorry I didn't-!".

She was silenced when the egg burst open, and she was splashed by the goo, much to her disgust... but she didn't even have time to express how grossed out she was before she looked up and saw... something emerge from the egg... it was some kind of creature. It looks like a combination between a raptor and of a Tyrannosaurus rex. It has three rows of small curved scutes on its back, a large rectangular head, thin but strong looking legs, and a multicolored body. Safe to say Ruiko was amazed.

"Wow..." Was all she could say. She had just vitnessed the birth of a creature she doubts anyone has ever seen before.

Said creature suddenly looked at her and began walking towards her. Ruiko snapped out of her amazement and began backing away in fear that it would attack her. But she slipped and fell on her butt. She looked up and saw the tiny creature looking down on her. It leans it's large head towards her and Ruiko closed her eyes, begging that it wouldn't eat her... but then she felt it was smelling her... and suddenly, it licked her face. Ruiko opened her eyes and noticed the creature seemed to be smiling at her.

"What the...?" Ruiko wondered to herself "So... you are not going to eat me?".

The creature let out a loud noise, making Ruiko panic a little.

"Shhh! Quiet! You are going to give us away!" Ruiko whisper yelled.

But it was to late. Armed security barrged in, even firing a smoke bomb. This startled the infant creature, causing it to dig a hole through the floor. Ruiko coughed for a bit until she fell down said hole. She slid for a while before coming to a stop. She looked up and noticed water in the distance. The little creature had gotten away.

"Wait... come back..." She whispered.

"You! Don't move!" A guard said as Ruiko found herself surrounded by the security guards.

Despite knowing she was in really big trouble. Ruiko was more concerned about the poor little creature. Could it even survive out there on it's own? Well, Ruiko would find out soon enough.
