Jakotsu and Sango were watching Ayame fuss over her long red hair. The two working on their Science work while in their homeroom class. On the other side of the classroom, Kagome was sitting across from Hazue. The two talking in hushed whispers as they went over their own assignments. The fact that all five of them were in the same homeroom class, it was kind of unnerving for Sango. She was frequently forced to endure the commentary from Ayame concerning the new girl getting so close to Hazue, and so quickly at that. Meanwhile, she and Jakotsu just didn't see what the big deal was about.
"Kami, Ayame-Chan, stop, stop!" Jakotsu set his pencil down in frustration and pulled Ayame's brush from her hand. In a magnificent display of hairstyling, he twisted her hair into two low and lazy buns that left her long tendrils hanging around her shoulders but kept the bulk of her hair out of her way. "You are so harsh on your hair, it's too good for you."
Ayame blushed and yanked her brush back from his hands. Tossing it into her bag, she caught her reflection and her eyes glazed over before she cleared her throat and thanked him so softly that Sango had to strain her ears to hear it. Smiling, she couldn't help but think just how cute her friend really was. "Nai, Ayame-Chan, let's go eat with Kikumaru-Chan and Kaidou-Kun today."
"W-what?! No way!" Her face burned at the mere idea. The whole of the class looked over at her as she yelled out her answer.
"But Ayame-Chan is so cute today, won't it be okay?"
"Even if you say that..." she looked at her reflection and sighed, "let's just finish are schoolwork."

Kagome had glanced up at the loud red head. Her eyes widened in the surprise of the sudden outburst. "They sound lively."
"Hm?" Hazue looked up from the Japanese work he was going over. "Ah, they are the Admins children. Vice Principal Oni's daughter, Onikoroshi, Sango. Principal Shiroi's daughter, Shiroi, Ayame. Then there's the son of the Superintendent, Shichinintai, Jakotsu...though, the way Ayame acts, you'd think she was the daughter of the Superintendent."
"What do you mean?"
He raised a brow and sighed but answered all the same. "The Superintendent in responsible for choosing the Principal and Vice Principal."
"Oh...then who chooses the Superintendent?"
"The School Board."
"then who chooses the School Board?"
"Well...in some cases, the citizens of the School Districts community elect those on the School Board. However, there are cases where the Mayor or other Government Officials can appoint members on the School Board."
"So...what kind of people work on School Board?"
"Public Officials...I think." Hazue scrunched his brow up a bit, "you ask a lot of questions."
"Oh, sorry."
He smiled, "don't be. I kind of don't know everything about it, but my neighbor is part of the School Board, so I know this much. You know, Jakotsu is also the Student body President. Pretty sure that's going to transition over to the new school, he's pretty social and extremely friendly with the whole school. I couldn't imagine balancing two clubs and his student body president duties."
"Eyes and ears,"
Hazue and Kagome looked towards the front of the class, their teacher had snuck in and looks a bit frazzled, to say the least. "I have a couple things to hand out to you, they all need to be signed and turned in by this Friday. The first," he held up one of the papers, "our Spring Trip is coming up, to go you'll need to get your permission slips signed. Our Excursion is going to be to either Okinawa or Nagasaki. You will decide with the Class President after I leave and talk amongst yourself until you've come to a decision. It will take place in two weeks, on the 14th, 15th and 16th of this month. Be mindful of the time in-between and keep on top of your schoolwork. Either way, both trips will be made by train, so bring something that will distract you for at the minimum, three hours. Make sure you each have money for lunch or bring a lunch for your ride there. All other expenses will be paid by the school. There is a list of what you will be required to take with you, make sure you are prepared and double check the night before, so you don't forget anything." He lifted another paper, "the week following our excursion is the Home-Visit. Again, I need your parents' signature, this way they know when to be home. The dates are all pre-arranged, make sure your parents get these and sign them. I don't want to stand outside for four hours knocking on a door when no one is at home."
"Why would you stand outside of a door for four hours knocking? After the first twenty minutes of knocking, wouldn't it be relatively obvious that they aren't home?"
Silence.
'Ah...wait, maybe I shouldn't have said that.' She ducked her head, "sorry Sensei."
He chuckled, "I honestly didn't have a reply, but I'll accept the apology. You don't look to have meant any harm by it. Continuing, we will have swim classes coming up soon, so your school swimsuits will be available for purchase affective the end of this week. Again, you need to show these to your parents." He turned his eyes to Jakotsu who stood and walked over, taking the three stacks in hand. "Class stand,"
Kagome stood, she followed the rest of the class as they bowed while the teacher turned and left. When the door shut, Jakotsu let them relax and sit back down before he spoke. It was the first time she'd seen him get up in front of the class and the first time she'd heard him speak. She blushed, 'he's...kind of pretty.'
"Since I was notified about the destination choices for our Excursion beforehand, I went ahead and jotted down the schedules for each destination. We can decide based on popular vote, and from there, we will make plans of meeting up in groups at the Train Station." He smiled and turned to the blackboard. "For Okinawa, the Ocean Expo will be taking place as they welcome the beginning signs of Summer. There will be a Firework show on the 15th, the night before we head back home on the 16th. During this time, the festival will be going on during the late afternoon throughout the night. On the 14th and during the day on the 15th, we would arrive decently early enough to get in some cultural learning at the Shuri Castle of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and then the Chuaraumi Aquarium is the largest Aquarium in Japan, so taking a trip to that local attraction is a most while there. I figured that we would grab something to eat between the two events or after the Aquarium, after which, Okinawa Peace Memorial Park will be our next stop."
"Make Sensei buy us Okinawan Soba!"
"I want their local Sata Andagi!"
Jakotsu smiled and laughed, "Sensei isn't buying us food, that's asking a bit much of a Sensei's salary, I think. We can follow the Aquarium up by dragging sensei out with us and looking into some local Okinawan Cuisine. A bonfire with adult supervision will be held at night and of course, day two we can enjoy the day with shopping and swimming at the beach before the festival. Day three is mostly getting our things ready for departure and wandering around, just not too far. The location we'd be staying at is quiet, so the means we would have to be respectful to those around us."
"Nai, nai! Shichi-San,"
"Hai?"
"What about Nagasaki?"
He moved away from his Okinawa list, across from it and starting at the top, he began writing on the board once more. "Nagasaki is famous for being one of the first two targets of the Atomic Bomb, the first being Hiroshima which was hit three days prior to Nagasaki. I think on the first day, visiting the Atomic Bomb Museum, and following that up with the Peace Park, would be a great experience for our class. After that, there is Confucius Shrine which is a prominent landmark in Nagasaki that portrays the Chinese influence on Japan and then of course, Nagasaki Chinatown. I think the first day will be mostly learning, but it would be a delight to see these structures. On day two, Nagasaki Bio Park is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Nagasaki. It's a Zoo and Botanical Garden, we'd be able to experience encounter with a variety of free to roam animals, with over 300,000 square meters to explore. Bring a camera."
"Close encounters...how cute! Oh, I want to go!"
"But fireworks... and I heard that the Ocean Expo's fireworks were amazing, 10,000 fireworks light up the sky."
"Ehem," Jakotsu cleared his throat and smiled, "after the Bio Park, we can end the day with an evening at the Summer Festival in Kazusa, don't ask how we managed to land our trip on the days where two festivals would be held. I like to think that Tenjin-Sama is blessing us for our hard work, so keep your grades up and do your homework!"
"...somehow I don't think that's what it is."
"Shichi-San, you might be pushing it there. That would be more believable if we were the top class in our grade,"
He sighed, "true...then perhaps it should be an incentive to work harder?"
"Iie!"
"Nai, Shichi-San, how will we get to Kazusa from our inn, I recall visiting Nagasaki and I don't think the inns around Kazusa take fieldtrips."
"We would take the bus to get the festival, so it won't take us long to get to and from. Again, day three is formalities, wander around, but don't go too far from our inn, and remember to be respectful. Wherever we stay, be sure that you leave the room the way that they were when we got there. Stuff like this, I will be sure to bring up when we arrive and before we leave. I will also be checking on rooms with Taijya-San, so be sure to clean up after yourselves."
"Hai!"
Looking at the clock, he smiled, "lunch time is in fifteen minutes, go ahead and take lunch early, come back fifteen minutes before class starts and we will take our votes then. Before you go," He walked to the front of each row, placing specific numbers of each of the three papers on the desks in front, "pass those back, make sure you get one of each, and if you didn't, come see me before you break for lunch."
"Hai!"
