Hey everyone! Let's look at the names so you know why I chose them. Also, I never did this with the family, so I'll do that now too!

Starting with Kagome's new family~

-x-x-x-

Hideyoshi – Grandpa Hideyoshi is 78 years old. He is retired. His name means (Hide) "excellent, outstanding", combined with (Yoshi) meaning "good, virtuous and respectable". This as the hierarchy of the Kikumaru family name, I thought it was a strong name for the oldest member of the family. He enjoys spending his time outside in the back, taking care of the garden and reading on the back patio.

Chouko – Grandma Chouko is 77 and also retired, though begrudgingly so. While the family is out of the house, she tends to keep busy by cleaning everyone's room. Though Kouta keeps his door locked at all times when he's not home, no one cleans it but him. Her name, most should be familiar with (Chou) meaning "butterfly" and (ka) meaning "flower". I plan to have a chapter later on that's something like a side story, I read too many manga's and now I'm starting to write like them. Anyways, it was a name meant to develop a woman that was thoughtful and always moving, she was a free spirit and a delicate beauty. She dislikes being stuck at home, still to this very day.

Isamu – At 46, he's Papa Kikumaru, he became a dad 23. The meaning of his name is (brave). Again, I want to write a side story later for Papa and Mama Kikumaru, but that's neither here nor now.

Sachiko – She's 44, living her life to her absolute fullest! She got pregnant with her first child, Ayano, at 20, and had her at 21. From there, all of her precious ones were born and each one made her life more beautiful and fuller than before. She's not the type that complains and enjoys the day for all that it's worth. Her name, Sachiko, or Sachi when she's alone with her husband, means "Child of Bliss". Born as an only child, she wanted a big family when she finally married and decided to have kids.

Ayano – Generally means "color" or "design". At 23 years of age, she is the oldest daughter of the Kikumaru family. Going to college and majoring in Design and Fashion. She can't cook. Daichi won't let her near his food while he's cooking, and this typically starts an argument between the two. Despite not being able to cook, she still tries to experiment in the kitchen when no one is around to see her.

Daichi – The oldest son, 21-year-old Daichi is a strange mix between confident and scared shitless. He can be confident in the face of adversity but is often times overwhelmed in the face of poise and conviction. People who seem to be naturally buoyant, make him feel self-conscious. His name means (Dai) "great" and (chi) "wisdom". I chose this name as a play on the fact that he can, at times, be something of a complete idiot. He is a great cook and is attending the Kobe Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School in Tokyo while getting his Minor in Business Management. He works part time as a pâtissier on the weekends and Wednesdays, but his family doesn't know this.

Kouta– Kouta is 19, and he came out of the woodwork looking like the main protagonist from Persona 5, only with deep chestnut brown hair and slightly darker blue eyes than Eiji's. Don't ask me why. He's kind of socially awkward and prefers to keep to himself. He gets flustered when he's the center of attention but is very vocal if something is bothering him. When I decided on his character, the large thin rimmed metal framed glasses were meant to differentiate him from his well-kept siblings. He has shaggy hair and when he's not at school, he dresses just as shaggy. Attending his last year of Seigaku High School, he's preparing for his College Entrance Exams into Kyoto Seika University of the Arts. His name, Kouta, is spelt with the Kanji for "peace".

Etsuko – At 17, she is, or was, the youngest daughter of the family. Her name, (Etsu) "joy" and (ko) "child" were decided based on the role of her being twice as energetic and just as loud as Eiji. She and Eiji were really close when they were kids, so they would always play together. Kouta and Etsuko currently attend the same High School. They walk home together except on days where Etsuko has soccer practice. She's in her second year of High School and isn't sure of what she wants to do in the future, but she's leaning towards the News industry like her father.

Taiki – (Tai) meaning "great" and (ki) meaning "radiance". This is the name of the large and overly friendly Golden Retriever of the Kikumaru residence.

Pippi – This was the name of the bird from an episode of Dragon Ball and from what I can tell, it has no meaning. Instead, it's the written sound that a bird makes. Pippi~ I'm sure all of you will now go about your house in a high-pitched tweet while saying "pippi". Apologize to your families on my behalf. Pippi is a green and yellow parrot, in the Kikumaru residence. Said parrot has yet to be found by Kagome, but she feels she's close to discovering it's whereabouts.

Shiroi – Age 10, Ayame Shiroi, her father is the Principal and she is the almighty bully who's not the best at bullying. She's selfish, hotheaded and extremely prideful. Has a crush on Hazue, but isn't nearly brave enough to say anything to him about it. Her surname, Shiroi, means "white" and it's based on the white furs she wore in InuYasha. Her father is the exact opposite of her and is known to be too friendly and too lenient for a principal.

Onikoroshi – Age 10, Sango Onikoroshi, her mother is called the "Demon Vice Principal" or "Vice Principal Oni" by the students. Unlike the Principal, she was known to give out punishments befitting the crimes in the school. Nothing like lashes, but strenuous and arduous physical labor around the school. Due to this, Sango garners much respect from her peers and upper classmen. The name translates to "Demon Slayer". Sango is very friendly, and very understanding, but that's not to say she doesn't have a fierce personality. It comes out later on in the...Sequel. (Spoiler Alert .) Don't get ahead of yourselves. I only wrote the summary.

Shichinintai – Age 10, I shouldn't need to explain this one, it means "Seven Man Band" and there is a story that is revealed later about his surname that plays into the story, so I'm not going to go into any details concerning his surname. His Father is the Superintendent, though he doesn't act like it, he's in a very demanding role at the Elementary School. As the Student Body President, he's always busy, but he makes time for after school clubs like the Beauty Club and the Gardening Club.

Me: So, I don't know how many of you read all of this, but if you did...yay! If you want me to write the "what's in their bag" segments and little Profiles, I can do one character per chapter, just let me know what you think~! Review and Merry Christmas!
