Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user (He'll find out about being a psyphic and Aura user later). I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 62
The colony of Treecko,
A day of training and the Shroomish swarm
The gang were still traveling through Petalburg forest; Petalburg forest was a big forest and there was no telling when the gang would reach the end of it. After Ash captured Taillow and Zigzagoon, the gang had met another pokemon trainer named Nicholai who had a Mudkip for a starter. Nicholai was kind of peculiar because he liked to dress up as a pokemon, even when battling or catching a pokemon. He believed that it was a good way of him studying pokemon and becoming one with his own pokemon.
After meeting up with Nicholai, the gang continued going through Petalburg forest, but right now they weren't going anywhere. Ash had read in the guide book that a colony of Treecko lived in the area, and he wished to catch one. Ash had a desire to obtain every starter pokemon in the Hoenn region, and since he already had a Mudkip he now had the chance to catch himself a Treecko. "That's a surprise to know that wild Treecko live around here" said Max. "That's what you get while on pokemon journeys Max;" said Brock "there's always a surprise lurking around every corner".
Just then Ash spotted the colony of Treecko; they lived in trees. "Now's my chance to catch a Treecko" said Ash. He released is Taillow to battle one of the Treecko. "Treecko's a flying type, so Taillow would have the advantage" Max explained to May. Ash was about to command Taillow to attack, but then a blue flame shot at Ash and stopped him in his tracks. "That was dragon breath," said Brock "but where did it come from?" "Up there" said Tomo, pointing to a tree branch. There was a Treecko sitting on the branch and it was holding a twig in its mouth. "How can a Treecko know dragon breath?" asked Max; he had never seen a Treecko use dragon breath before. "It must be an egg move," said Tomo "pokemon can learn a move from its parent from birth. Even moves that a pokemon can't normally learn". Max and May were impressed with that.
Ash decided he would capture that Treecko, but the Treecko ran off quick. "That's one speedy Treecko" said May. "I'm going to follow that Treecko, because I wish to catch it" Ash said to the others, and he left. "Why is Ash so worked up of catching a pokemon?" asked May. "This is common behaviour for pokemon trainers when they see a pokemon they want" said Brock. "Besides May, you were excited yourself when you decided to catch Azuril" said Tomo. May remembered that and admitted that Tomo was right. "Let's stay here and wait for Ash," said Brock "he'll be back once he catches Treecko". Tomo, May and Max agreed.
Meanwhile Ash Pikachu and Taillow were following the Treecko and then they ended up at a big tree. "Wow, I've never seen a tree like this" said Ash. Pikachu and Taillow hadn't either. There were hundreds of Treecko living on the tree. Ash looked for the Treecko that held the twig in its mouth, and he saw it sitting on a branch alone. Ash called out to it and said he wanted to battle. The Treecko heard Ash and accepted the battle. "Okay Taillow, get ready" said Ash. Taillow was ready to battle now. The Treecko blew dragon breath at Taillow, but Taillow dodged it. "Show that Treecko your egg move Taillow" said Ash. Taillow's body got surrounded by a white aura; his egg move was sky attack. Taillow charged at Treecko fast and tackled Treecko well; poor Treecko didn't have the chance to dodge. Treecko fainted on the spot from that powerful flying type move. Ash tossed a pokeball at Treecko and captured it easily. Treecko's ball vanished to Prof Oak as Ash already had six pokemon on him. "My very own Treecko" smiled Ash, and he returned Taillow to his pokeball.
After capturing Treecko, Ash and Pikachu were just about to head back to the others. But then a big grey jeep came near the big tree at a great speed. "What the?" gasped Ash. A muscular man got out of the jeep and he sent out a Fearow to battle all of the Treecko; this man was a poacher. "Come on Pikachu, we better get the others for help," said Ash "I don't think we will be able to handle this poacher on our own". Pikachu agreed, and he and Ash ran back to the others as quick as they could.
Brock, Tomo, May and Max were just about to have something to eat, but then Ash turned up and told them about the poacher. "We better get over there and stop that poacher at once" said Brock. The others agreed, and Ash showed them the way to the tree. As soon as they got to the tree, the poacher had all the Treecko in a cage. "Let those Treecko go now!" shouted Ash. "No chance kid" said the poacher. He commanded his Fearow to attack the kids and he also sent out a Tyranitar to battle. Brock sent out Aggron to battle Tyranitar and Ash commanded Pikachu to attack Fearow. Aggron defeat Tyranitar with focus punch and Pikachu defeated Fearow with thunder. Then Ash commanded Pikachu to use thunder wave on the poacher so he wouldn't get away.
At that moment an Officer Jenny arrived. "You are under arrest" she said to the man, and tied him up with rope. Then she spoke to the gang. "I thank you kids for dealing with this poacher for me," said Officer Jenny "I've been after him for a while". "I'm glad we could stop him before he took all the Treecko away" said Ash. All of the Treecko were out of their cage now, and Officer Jenny took the man away. "Man I'm glad that's over," sighed Ash "and the good news is I have my own Treecko now".
With a new friend in tow, the gang continued to walk through Petalburg City.
The gang were near the end of Petalburg forest, but they were having a break from walking. Truth is Ash wanted to stop and train some of his new pokemon. As the gang would be getting near a gym soon, it was time for Ash to train his pokemon for it. Ash released Mudkip, Treecko, Poochyena, Taillow and Ralts from their pokeballs. Zigzagoon, Latias and Latios were at Prof Oak's lab. Ash used his pokedex to see what his pokemon knew. Mudkip was male and he knew tackle, water gun, bide, mud slap, ice beam and the egg move ice ball. Treecko was also a male, and he knew pound, quick attack, absorb, screech and the egg move dragon breath. Poochyena was female and she knew bite, tackle, sand attack, sucker punch and the egg moves ice fang, thunder fang and fire fang. Ralts was also female, and she knew confusion, teleport, double team and the egg moves confuse ray and will-o-wisp. Taillow was male and he knew the moves peck, wing attack, double team and quick attack and the egg move brave bird. "Okay everyone," Ash said to his pokemon "it's time we got some training done before our first gym battle in Rustboro City". His pokemon understood. Ash had Pikachu teach Mudkip, Treecko and Poochyena dig and iron tail, as he knew those attacks. Ash trained Taillow to use steel wing and aerial ace and he had Ralts practice her confusion, teleport and double team.
May and Max watched Ash with interest. "Ash certainly knows how to train pokemon well" said Max. "Well Ash did tell us that he had been a pokemon trainer for three years now" said May. Tomo decided to train his Treecko and Poochyena too. His Treecko knew the egg move crunch and Poochyena also had the egg moves, ice, fire and thunder fang attacks.
Nearby Jessie, James and Meowth were having a picnic lunch near a stream. "So guys where should we move to catch Hoenn pokemon?" asked Meowth. James was looking at his laptop. "Hmm, well luck will have it there are pokemon swarms here in Hoenn and there's a pokemon swarm tomorrow on route 102" he said. "Awe what pokemon?" asked Jessie. James showed a picture of a blue pokemon, which looked like a water spider. "This pokemon is called Surskit," said James "it moves very quickly especially on water. And its evolved form is called Masquerain". He showed a picture of a blue, peach and white colored moth like pokemon. "Then that's it," said Meowth "we'll grab a swarm of Surskit and then move on to capturing the other swarms of pokemon". "Yeah," agreed Jessie "I mean we did the same thing back in Johto, so let's do the same here in Hoenn". James and Meowth agreed to the idea.
Suddenly a black, yellow and purple snake pokemon, with long fangs and tail, came out of the bushes. "That's a Seviper" said James. Jessie looked at it excitedly and decided to catch it. She sent out Sneasel to battle it. "Use ice shard Sneasel" she said. Sneasel fired an ice shard attack at Seviper, but Seviper melted the attack with flamethrower. "Wow it knows flamethrower" said Meowth. "Okay let's use slash Sneasel" said Jessie. Sneasel scratched Seviper hard. "Now use blizzard". Sneasel blew a very cold blizzard at Seviper, and Seviper didn't like it. Jessie threw an empty pokeball at the Seviper and captured it. "Now both you and I have captured a new pokemon Jessie" said James. James captured a Cacnea yesterday. "Okay now that's over let's head over to Route 102" said Meowth. "Let's" said Jessie and James, and they left the area.
Back with the gang, they had found the pokemon center and were resting there. "I'm glad we found this pokemon center," said May "I feel tired after today". "I don't see why you're tired May," said Max "you hardly did anything except watch Ash and Tomo train their pokemon". "That's why I'm tired," said May "watching people work so hard is exhausting". 'Lazy' thought Max. Ash and Tomo did train their pokemon well, and in the process their pokemon learnt new moves. Mudkip learnt dig, iron tail and aqua tail. Poochyena learnt dig, iron tail and shadow ball. Treecko learnt dig and iron tail, and then he learnt bullet seed. Ralts did well too, even though she was still young, she perfect confusion, teleport and double team, and together with Poochyena she learnt shadow ball. Last of all Taillow learnt steel wing and aerial ace and he learnt swift as well, so Ash felt that his pokemon were ready for the gym. Tomo's Treecko learnt dig, bullet seed and iron tail as well, and Poochyena learnt dig and iron tail too.
And so after a day's success of training, the gang had a good night's sleep in the pokemon center.
The gang were finally out of Petalburg forest and were in a city called Rinshin Town. May was happy to be in a city and wanted to start window shopping at once. Brock wanted to pick up supplies, and Ash, Tomo, and Max wanted to get something to eat. So May and Brock went off to shop together and Ash, Tomo and Max went off to get something to eat.
After having a meal of cheeseburgers with fries, Ash, Tomo and Max wondered what to do next. "I'd like to go and find some pokemon that roam around in cities" said Max. "Okay then we will head out for alley ways;" said Ash "pokemon, who live in cities, roam about in alley ways". "Hey I see one now" said Tomo. Tomo saw a green and tan coloured mushroom pokemon lurking about by some dustbins. "That's a Shroomish," said Max "it's a grass pokemon".
Ash looked at Shroomish on the pokedex: Shroomish, the mushroom pokemon. If it senses danger, it scatters poison spores from the top of its head to protect itself.
"That's odd though," said Max "Shroomish live in forests, so why is it here in a city?" "Probably got lost," said Ash "I've been in this sort of situation before. Some pokemon end up lost and entering a place they have never been in before, so let's help this Shroomish get back home". Shroomish felt timid with the humans about, but with Pikachu's help Ash convinced Shroomish that they just wanted to help it, so Shroomish agreed. Ash picked it up. "Okay so where she we start looking for Shroomish's home?" he asked. Ash got the answer; he heard some people talking about some workers getting hit by stun spore attacks in a run-down mansion. So Ash, Tomo and Max agreed to go over to the mansion first, just in case.
At that time May and Brock were already at the mansion; they had heard the rumours while they were shopping, and they wanted to see the mansion themselves. The mansion was indeed very run-down; in fact it was in disrepair and needed a lot of work to make it as good as new again. "It's a shame that this old mansion is going to be torn down," said May "I mean it still looks splendid, even though it does need fixing up". "Yeah but once people decided to have a building knocked down, there's no way of changing their minds" said Brock.
Just then Ash, Tomo and Max turned up. The Shroomish, in Ash's arms, ran off into the mansion. "That Shroomish probably lives in that mansion" said Ash. Just then a man turned up. "What are you kids doing here?" he asked "it's dangerous in this area". Ash, Tomo and Max explained about the Shroomish and that it ran into the building. "But that's impossible," said the man "Shroomish haven't been here ever since the forest disappeared". The man whose name was Alex, explained that Rinshin Town used to be small with a big forest surrounding. "This mansion used to belong to my grandfather and when I was a kid, I played with the Shroomish all day long," said Alex "but then over the years the forest disappeared for more and more buildings. Then my grandfather died and the Shroomish disappeared too. This mansion was supposed to be torn down by now, but because of the strange happenings nothing has been done yet". Ash looked thoughtful. "We need to get inside that mansion and check it out," he said "since the Shroomish ran into the building; my guess is that Shroomish might be behind the strange incidents". Everyone agreed with Ash's plan and they all went into the mansion.
It was dark inside the mansion and it was in disrepair inside too. Everyone looked and then finally they saw the Shroomish and another Shroomish with it in a room with a fire place. Alex couldn't believe that there were Shroomish in the mansion as he hadn't seen any for a while now. "It's obvious," said Brock "this mansion is the only home that the Shroomish has, since the forest had been cut down for buildings. And once this mansion is gone then they really won't have a home here in Rinshin Town anymore".
Suddenly a Machamp barged into the room. "What's a Machamp doing here?" asked Max. "That Machamp actually belongs to one of the workmen," said Alex "its owner got hit by stun spore yesterday. So Machamp is probably here to find out what stun spored its master". The Machamp saw the two Shroomish and went to punch them with focus punch. Ash and Max grabbed the Shroomish before the Machamp could hit them. "Stop it Machamp!" shouted Ash. Just then a big swarm of Shroomish entered the room and started to spray stun spore. "We better get out quickly before we get hit by stun spore" said Brock. Everyone agreed and they all ran out of the mansion. Machamp ran out quick too, before it got hit by stun spore, and it went home.
"I can't believe that all the Shroomish were living in that mansion all this time" said Alex. "Do you get it now?" asked Ash "the Shroomish don't want the mansion to be torn down. That's why they attacked the workers using stun spore to stop the demolition. They want to continue living here as they have no other home anywhere here in Rinshin Town". Alex understood. "I'm sorry," he said "but I'm afraid this mansion will still be torn down as it is very in disrepair. But what I can do is this; I will plant a whole lot of trees in this area and make it a habitat for the Shroomish to live in again". The gang was happy to hear that and so was all the Shroomish. "You hear that Shroomish," Ash said to the Shroomish in his arms, "you will finally have a proper home now". "And so will you Shroomish" Max said to the Shroomish in his arms. But the two Shroomish shook their heads. "Huh, what's wrong?" asked Max. The Shroomish spoke up. "They want to come with us Max," said Ash "they like us". Max was surprised with that. "Do you mind if we take these two Shroomish with us?" Ash asked Alex. "I don't mind at all," smiled Alex "especially since they have fond new friends for themselves". So Ash and Max captured the two Shroomish for themselves; Max had spare empty pokeballs on him so that he could catch new pokemon for himself.
By now it was time for the gang to leave Rinshin Town. "You take care of all the Shroomish here sir" said Max. "I will," said Alex "and you guys take care of yourselves". The gang said goodbye to Alex and the Shroomish and continued their way to Rustboro City.
Ash's Zigzagoon is based on the extreme-speed Zigzagoon from the event. I find it a shame that Max never got any pokemon he befriended in the anime, especially Ralts, so most of his captures would be the pokemon he had befriended, except Jirachi. It's too impossible for Max to obtain Jirachi as you know Jirachi wakes up for a week every thousand years and so Max won't be obtaining Jirachi, but he will obtain Deoxys. The Poacher is based on the poacher in the a poached ego episode. Just to let everyone know Jessie and James have not released Arbok and Weezing; they still have them. There will be chapters about many Mudkip and many Torchic.
