Spencer managed to get everyone through a backdoor entrance into the building to avoid getting caught in another fan crazed mob.
They were taken to where the employee park entrance was.
The entire was designed futuristically with a lot of neon lights.
And at the end of the room was an arch with blue energy flowing through the middle. Just like a real-life magic portal.
It had to be the entrance into the park.
"Dad!" Spencer yelled when they all entered the room. "They're here!"
A bunch of employees standing around looked over, and one came out of a secret room which was an admin room came an older man that for some reason reminded everyone of Wayne, minus a beard.
"The Kingdom Keepers," the man said. "It is so good to finally meet you all."
"Howard Pittman, I presume?" asked Finn extending his hand which the man took.
"Indeed," he said. "I'm so glad you finally arrived."
"Well, you did say this could be a threat to the entire world," said Philby. "So, give us the scoop."
"Follow me," said Howard leading them into the backroom.
He led them into a room full of computers and with a man a bit younger than Howard sitting in front of them.
"I'm sure my son told you about my partner here, Marcus Decker," said Howard.
Decker stood up and shook Finn's hand.
"A pleasure to meet the leader of the Kingdom Keepers," he said. "And his wonderful friends."
"Thank you," said Finn.
"Me and Decker used to work for Disney before we were fired," said Howard. "Then we created this place. But now, as my son has already told you, we think there is a glitch in the system that is causing our video game characters to become real and go against their programs. The villains mainly."
"They've been seeing suspicious and looking like they are scheming," said Decker. "And recently we saw the heroes start to do the same, and we've seen them fighting against some of the villains. We fear that they may be becoming a new breed of Overtakers."
"Are you sure?" asked Willa. "This could just be some kind of small problem."
"No," said Howard. "We specifically coded every character to do and react in a specific way. They are not meant to go against their program unless there is a possible glitch or..."
"Or if someone purposefully did this," said Decker.
"What?" asked Maybeck. "Why would someone do that?"
"That's what we need you all to find out," said Howard. "I am sending all of you and Spencer into the park, both today and tonight to find out what is truly going on."
"Cool," said Philby. "I mean, cool that we are going into a virtual park."
"We must register avatars for all of you," said Decker. "And we are giving you all admin controls, meaning you can have special access to places, and even powers."
"Powers?" asked Charlene intrigued.
"You see being a virtual world, we can give people the power to do almost anything," said Howard. "We can give them numerous video game abilities, but they are mainly for fighting tournaments, races involving parkour, and other things."
"Things like double jumping," said Spencer. "And others like leap of faith, the ability to carry a complete arsenal, or lots of video game powers and weapons."
"Oh sweet!" said Finn.
"And like I said, they are mainly for tournaments," said Howard. "But this is a special purpose."
"Cool," said Amanda.
"Our plan for today while it is still light is out is for you all to explore the parks and get an idea of the layout so you may all know where and what everything is," said Decker.
"Parks?" asked Jess. "I thought Gametopia was the park."
"There are 10 parks within Gametopia," said Howard. "Including the main hub as we call it."
"All named after game companies, they are Capcom Kingdom, Nintendo Park, Segaworld, Activison Studios, Ubitopia, Bandai Zone, Konamiland, Insominac Island, Rockstar City, and Square Enix Galaxy," said Spencer.
"Cool," said Maybeck.
"Still don't know what any of those are," said Charlene.
"Sucks for you Non-Gamer," said Jess. "I don't play video games, but I do watch gameplay on Youtube."
"Well excuse me Miss Foresight!" exclaimed Charlene. "Some people don't play video games because they are focusing on school, being a celebrity, or saving the world!"
"Children please!" said Decker. "This is not the time."
"He's right," said Finn. "We must focus on the mission. Charlene will learn everything there is I'm sure of throughout this mission."
"So, children," said Howard. "Are you ready to get registered and enter a virtual world?"
"Yes!" everyone said simultaneously.
"Follow me then," said Decker.
Decker took everyone out to the big room where each of them were put on machines that looked like teleporters that scanned them completely, which literally created virtual models of them that were transferred into Gametopia's mainframe, which was exactly where their souls would be transferred to when their bodies were broken apart after passing through the portals into the park.
Decker also explained how to access their admin powers and abilities, but to not use them during park hours with people around, because then there would be complains about people being given powers outside of tournament, despite the fact that everyone would recognize them as the Kingdom Keepers and think that maybe they were on a mission.
Once they were all finished and each one registered their names, the workers activated the admin entrance portals into the park.
Spencer grouped with the gang, having his own avatar and admin controls too.
"Ready to go guys?" he asked.
"I'm scared," said Willa. "I'm about to be torn apart and put in another body."
"It'll be okay," said Spencer. "Everyone is scared their first time. I was too."
Philby took his girlfriend's hand.
"It'll be okay," he said.
Willa smiled and simultaneously Maybeck took Charlene's hand and Finn and Amanda held hands, and then Jess took Spencer's hand, which Amanda eyed.
"Let's go guys," said Finn.
Everyone ran in one by one through the portals, vanishing completely.
Howard and Decker looked at the portals when they all were in.
"I know they can do this," said Howard. "They're our only hope."
"Yes my friend," said Decker. "They are the only ones who can do it."
