Ash's Pokemon Journey

Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user (He'll find out about being a psyphic and Aura user later). I do not own pokemon.

Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.

Chapter 69

The Illumise and Volbeat swarm,

The Two Dragons and

The Legendary Temple

Today the gang was walking through a forest. May was enjoying the walk through the forest; the forest had tall trees and hundreds of flowers. Max was keeping an eye out for pokemon like always and Brock was reading the guide. "There's something interesting about this forest" said Brock. "Really, what is it?" asked Ash. "Well apparently some bug pokemon called Volbeat and Illumise live in this forest," said Brock "and at night people can see them dancing, while showing off their lights". May thought that sounded interesting.

Ash looked at Volbeat and Illumise on the pokedex: Volbeat, the firefly pokemon. It lives around clean ponds. At night, its rear lights up. It converses with others by flashing its light. Illumise, the firefly pokemon. With its sweet aroma, it guides Volbeat to draw signs with light in the night sky.

"Volbeat are male and Illumise are female" said Max. May asked if they could stay and see the Volbeat and Illumise dance tonight. "Yeah, can we please?" asked Max "I'd like to see them dance too". Ash, Tomo and Brock thought the Illumise and Volbeat sounded interesting too and they agreed to stay.

The gang wasn't the only ones who were interested in the Volbeat and Illumise; Jessie, James and Meowth were also in the forest and had their eyes on Volbeat and Illumise. "Do excuse me, but these Illumise and Volbeat look a bit crumby to me" said Meowth, who was looking at some pictures of Volbeat and Illumise. "They do to me too," said James "but remember Team Rocket wishes to control ever part of the pokemon world". "Yes and the boss always tell us that when you talk of conquering the whole world, every small and crumby thing counts" said Jessie. "You're right" said Meowth.

James took was looking at three of his pokeballs and grinned. "What's got you all smiling about?" asked Meowth. "My capture of my three new pokemon Shroomish, Nuzleaf and Roselia," said James "I'm always happy when I capture new pokemon". "I know what you mean," said Jessie "I'm happy of my capture of Wingull". Jessie and James captured Wingull, Shroomish, Nuzleaf and Roselia some time ago. "I'm glad you two got new pokemon," said Meowth "but we need to get ready to grab the Volbeat and Illumise tonight". So Jessie and James stopped looking at their pokeballs and got ready for tonight.

Hours later it was starting to get dark and the gang was waiting for the Volbeat and Illumise to start their dance. "I can't wait to see Volbeat and Illumise dancing" said May. "It's sure to be a wonderful sight" said Brock. The gang waited and waited, but there was no sign of any of the Illumise or Volbeat showing. "That's strange," said Max "Volbeat and Illumise should have shown up by now". "Do you think something's wrong?" asked May. "If something is wrong, then we better check it out just in case" said Ash. The others agreed and they went in search for the missing Volbeat and Illumise.

What had happened was Jessie, James and Meowth had captured Volbeat and Illumise in a net. There were twelve of them all together; six Volbeat and six Illumise. "That was a pretty good capture" said Meowth. "That was rather easy really" said James. "Yeah, but we've got them with no trouble at all," said Jessie "now it's time to make our get away with this Volbeat and Illumise". "Oh no it isn't!" shouted a voice.

The voice belonged to Ash. "Why am I not surprised that you three are trying to nick these Volbeat and Illumise?" said May. "Oh great it's the twerps" said Jessie. She sent out Seviper to battle and James sent out Cacnea to battle. Ash ordered Pikachu to use thunderbolt and Tomo ordered Growlithe to use flamethrower. Seviper got defeated from the thunderbolt and Cacnea got defeated by the flamethrower. To finish it off Ash ordered Pikachu to send Team Rocket off with volt tackle, and he did.

The gang released the Volbeat and Illumise at once and the pokemon were grateful to the gang. The bug pokemon started their dance at once with their lights on. "Beautiful" said May, who loved watching tis most of all. The boys liked this as well. When the Volbeat and Illumise finished their dance, May caught a Volbeat and Illumise for herself. "Why did you decide to catch both Volbeat and Illumise?" asked Max. "Because I find both of them cute and the two of them will be great in pokemon contests together, just like my Plusle and Minun will do" said May. May was happy to have new pokemon.

Today the gang was passing through some mountain area. May was feeling tired and hungry and as usual she was complaining about it. Max found out on his pokenav that there was a pokemon center in the area, so May was happy to know that they could get something to eat there and relax. When they got into the pokemon they saw a lot of people, with worried looks on their faces. "All of their pokemon must be hurt or something" said Brock. Ash asked a nearby trainer what was wrong. The trainer explained that two shiny pokemon called Bagon and Trapinch challenged their pokemon and defeated them.

Tomo looked at Bagon and Trapinch on his pokedex: Bagon, the rock head pokemon. Its steel-hard head can shatter boulders into pieces. It longingly hopes for wings to grow so it can fly. Trapinch, the ant pit pokemon. Its nest is a sloped, bowl-like pit in the desert. Once something has fallen in, there is no escape.

"Let me warn you, those two pokemon are real fighters," said the trainer "they fight together in real sync and they know some strong moves". "He's right about that," said another trainer "I used my Graveler and Weepinbell against them but they were defeated by Bagon's hydro pump attack and Trapinch's gust attack". "And that's not all they know," said the other trainer "the Bagon knows dragon claw, dragon pulse, flamethrower and its headbutt is no push over. As for the Trapinch it knows solar beam, hyper beam, dig and bug bite". "Wow for a dragon and ground pokemon, who aren't even fully evolved, they sound pretty strong" said Max. "They are," said the trainer "and you guys better stay away from them otherwise your pokemon will be beaten up too".

Ash was fascinated by this. Nurse Joy checked up on the gang's pokemon. "I'm glad to see that your pokemon haven't met up with that Bagon and Trapinch," she said "all the pokemon who challenged them are really hurt right now and I don't think I can keep up with this. If those two pokemon aren't stopped soon, I will have to call Officer Jenny". Ash looked thoughtful. "I'll go and fight them this time," he said "my Treecko and Mudkip will be able to handle them". "Hold on Ash," said May "all the trainers in this center had all lost against that Bagon and Trapinch". "I've fought against dragon and ground pokemon before, and Treecko and Mudkip know some moves that can defeat dragon and ground type pokemon" said Ash.

Ash went off to the area, where the Bagon and Trapinch were last seen, with Pikachu, Tomo and Growlithe. May intended to stay at the pokemon center and she made Max and Brock stay with her too. "Where do you think that the Bagon and Trapinch are Ash?" asked Tomo. "I don't know, but I'm sure that they will come to us" said Ash. As soon as Ash said that, the Bagon and Trapinch appeared. They were both shiny alright; Bagon's body was green instead of blue, and Trapinch was blue-green with green markings. "Bagon, Trapinch, I'm going to battle you now" said Ash. Tomo, Pikachu and Growlithe stood out the way, while Ash released Mudkip and Treecko to fight Bagon and Trapinch. "Treecko use energy ball on Trapinch and Mudkip you use ice beam on Bagon" said Ash. Mudkip and Treecko fired their attacks at the two dragon pokemon, but Trapinch used dig to escape the energy ball and Bagon melted the ice beam with flamethrower. Then Trapinch tackled Treecko hard and Bagon headbutted Mudkip hard. "Wow this Bagon and Trapinch are strong" said Tomo. Pikachu and Growlithe agreed. Ash also agreed that the two pokemon were strong. "Okay Treecko fire dragon breath at Bagon and Mudkip fire water gun at Trapinch" he said. Bagon got hit by the dragon breath and Trapinch got hit by the water gun, but they weren't beaten yet. Bagon fired flamethrower at Treecko and Trapinch got ready to do solar beam. "Quick Mudkip help Treecko with water gun and Treecko distract Trapinch with bullet seed. Mudkip doused the flamethrower with water gun and Treecko struck Trapinch with bullet seed. "Okay now Mudkip ice beam again and Treecko energy ball" Before Bagon and Trapinch could do anything, they got struck by the ice beam and energy ball attacks. Ash chucked pokeballs at Bagon and Trapinch and caught them, and then the pokeballs disappeared to Prof Oak's lab.

Ash walked over to Treecko and Mudkip and told them that they did very well. Suddenly both Mudkip and Treecko started to glow and they grew into bigger versions of themselves. Treecko grew into a big dinosaur type pokemon and he had three long leaves on his wrists, a large leaf on top of his head, and two tails that have a leafy appearance. Mudkip grew into a big amphibious pokemon, with black fins, long arms and orange gills on its cheeks.

Ash looked at the two pokemon on his pokedex: Marshtomp, the mud fish pokemon. The evolved form of Mudkip. It is at its best when on muddy ground with poor footing. It quickly overwhelms foes struggling in mud. Grovyle, the wood gecko pokemon. The evolved form of Treecko. It leaps from tree branch to tree branch quite swiftly. It shows astounding agility.

Ash was happy with his pokemon's evolutions and was happy to have caught the shiny Bagon and Trapinch for himself.

Ash and Tomo went back to the pokemon center and told the others all about what had happened. "Wow, so Mudkip and Treecko evolved huh Ash?" asked Brock. "Yep" said Ash. "I wish I could have seen that" said Max. "With your capture of Bagon and Trapinch there is sure to be no more problems around here now" said Brock. "I must say I wonder why Bagon and Trapinch kept on battling trainer's pokemon?" said May. "I think I can answer that," said Ash "you see during the battle Bagon and Trapinch were saying stuff like 'if we win this battle we will evolve at last' and 'we will fly at last'. So they must have wanted to battle lots of pokemon so that they would evolve". "I can see why," said Brock "Bagon's final evolved form is Salamence, and remember the pokedex said that Bagon always wish they can fly. And Salamence can fly". "Same with Trapinch;" said Max "Trapinch evolve into Vibrava, but Vibrava can't fly well but its final evolved form, Flygon, can". "It all makes sense now" said May. "I'll help them evolve into Salamence and Flygon" said Ash.

Ash and the gang explained to all the trainers about Bagon and Trapinch's desire to evolve and why they kept on battling their pokemon. The trainers understood the situation, but they were glad that it was all sorted out. Now that the shiny Bagon and Trapinch had been caught, all the trainers could happily leave the pokemon center with their fully recovered pokemon. And the gang left the pokemon center too to continue their journey.

Today the gang had come to a village to rest. This village was one of those old fashioned Japanese village and it was peaceful. In the village was a temple called the Legendary Temple. It was called that because the villagers looked to the legendary pokemon for protection and prosper of their village.

Ash was in deep of thought of something. "Is something wrong Ash?" asked Brock. "Actually Brock I've been thinking" said Ash. "What about?" asked Tomo. "Well I can't stop thinking about Team Magma and Team Aqua," said Ash "and I remember what Diane told us about Team Magma and their desire to obtain Groudon. And I think I have an idea of what Team Aqua want". He took out his book of legendary pokemon from his ruck sack, flipped through the pages and found a page with a blue whale type pokemon. The pokemon was called Kyogre and it was a water pokemon. "I think that Team Aqua may be searching for this pokemon". "I believe you're right Ash" said Brock. Tomo, May and Max thought so too. "If this is the case then what can we do?" said May. "I have come up with an idea" said Ash. He flipped through another page in his book and found a page that had a picture of a long green, red and yellow serpent like pokemon. The pokemon was called Rayquaza and it was a dragon and flying type pokemon. "I think Rayquaza might be our only chance if Team Magma and Team Aqua succeed of obtaining Groudon and Kyogre". "But Ash, locating Rayquaza will be impossible," asked May "how can we get Rayquaza to help us?" "I know what to do" said Ash. He took out his gold locket and Mewtwo's master ball out from his ruck sack. "Mewtwo and Ho-Oh will help". May, Max, Tomo and Brock understood what Ash was going to do and left him to do whatever he needed to do.

Later that day Ash and Pikachu went to the Legendary Temple alone. No one was at or inside the temple, so Ash could contact Ho-Oh without anyone noticing. He held onto his gold locket and closed his eyes. Pikachu watched in silence as Ash started to glow. Ash came in contact with Ho-Oh and told it all about Team Aqua and Magma and their desire of finding Kyogre and Magma. "I've had a thought that Rayquaza might be our only hope if Team Magma and Aqua find Groudon and Kyogre. Do you know where Rayquaza can be found?" Ho-Oh squawked and Ash listened; Ho-Oh told Ash that Rayquaza lived somewhere in outer space. Ash was amazed that a pokemon could live in outer space and thanked Ho-Oh, and then finished his contact. Next he contacted Mewtwo and told him all about what he had found out about Team Aqua and Magma, and then he told Mewtwo of his idea of having Rayquaza help them. "Mewtwo if you can, I want you to fly into space and try and locate Rayquaza for me. And when you do find it, tell it about what Team Magma and Aqua are up to". "Leave it to me Ash" said Mewtwo, and he set off into the sky at once.

Ash went back to the other and told them that Mewtwo was searching for Rayquaza. "Let's hope that Mewtwo will be successful," said Brock "because since Team Aqua and Magma are looking for Groudon and Kyogre, I fear what will happen to the Hoenn region or the whole world". The gang already understood that Team Aqua and Magma were bad news, but there was nothing they could do about them yet. All they could now was wait and hope that Mewtwo would find the legendary pokemon Rayquaza.

Thanks for the wait. James should have had a Roselia in the pokemon anime, because he always held a rose in his hand when doing the motto. I taught my Bagon the egg move hydro pump in the games; it suited Bagan better than the other egg moves it could learn. I know Treecko evolved later than this in the anime, but I decided to have Mudkip and Treecko evolve together. I don't understand you know why they never mentioned what the gang learnt about Team Magma from the 6th movie; I mean Diane told them of their desire and yet after that the gang was clueless about it during the episodes. Rayquaza will take part in the confrontation between Groudon and Kyogre.
