Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user (He'll find out about being a psyphic and Aura user later). I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 86
Ash meets Scott and
Back to Pallet Town
With the Ever Grande Conference over, Ash, Brock and Tomo knew it was time for them to leave May, Max and Hoenn and go back to Kanto. So now they were riding on a boat to get to Odale Town. "Seems a shame that our journey in Hoenn is over now," said Ash "but we had some great adventures here and we saw and captured lots of cool new pokemon". Tomo and Brock agreed with Ash. "I liked our journey too" said Max. "I thought it was great too," said May "except we had that trouble with Team Magma and Aqua". It was true Team Aqua and Magma did cause trouble for the gang during the journey. "Yeah but those villains are in jail now and they won't be causing trouble anymore" said Ash.
Soon the boat docked somewhere near Odale Town, and the gang was having one final picnic before they went their separate ways. Since Ash, Tomo and Brock were going back to Kanto, Max and May were going back to Petalburg City. "I can't wait to tell dad about what we went through during our journey and I also can't wait to show him my new pokemon" said Max. "Same here," said May "oh it seems a shame really that this journey is over. For some reason I feel like the ending of this journey came all too soon". "Tomo and I felt like that when we finished our Kanto, Orange Islands and Johto journeys and now it's the same for our Hoenn journey," said Ash "but I wouldn't fret, because there will be more new journeys to look forward to. Besides I still haven't visited the Sinnoh and Unova regions yet". "Sounds like you have made plans for your next journey then Ash" said Brock.
After finishing their picnic, it was time for Ash, Tomo and Brock to say goodbye to May and Max. May and Max thanked Ash, Tomo and Brock for everything and they set off for Petalburg City and Ash, Tomo and Brock got onto a ferry for Kanto.
Meanwhile Jessie, James and Meowth had arrived back to Kanto and they were called by Giovanni because he wanted to talk to them. "I wonder what the boss wants us for" said James. "Probably to give us a new assignment" said Jessie. "Maybe it's because we sent him that report of what happened to Team Aqua and Magma" said Meowth. They sent a report about Team Aqua and Magma to Giovanni after the two teams got arrested. "I don't know we'll just see what the boss has to say" said Jessie.
When the trio entered the office, Giovanni got down to what he wanted to say at once. "You three," he grumbled "you said in your report that Team Aqua and Magma were arrested?" "Yes sir, and it was Lance from the G-men and some trainers who took them down" answered Jessie. "Ah that G-men corporation is a real nuisance; they keep giving me trouble" said Giovanni. "What do you want Jessie, Meowth and I to do now sir?" asked James. Giovanni stared at the trio. "You three can just continue gathering up pokemon," he said at last "the Metang you sent to me were useful". The trio were pleased to hear that. "Yes sir" they said, and they left the office.
"I can't believe it," said Jessie "we came here to tell the boss what happened and we didn't get anything; no money, no pokemon nothing". "Yeah and he just wants us to go find more strong pokemon to gather up" said James. Just then the trio ran into Butch and Cassidy. "Well, well, well fancy seeing you three here" said Cassidy. "I thought you three would have been kicked out by now" said Butch. "Excuse me but we hadn't been kicked out thank you" said Jessie. "Yeah and why would we especially since we gathered a lot of pokemon from the Hoenn region" said Meowth. "Yeah we gathered a lot of Wurmples, Feebas', Surskit, Kecleons, Mighteyanas, Crawdaunts, Carvanhas and Metangs," said James "and the boss was happy with the Metangs". "Hah Cassidy got rarer pokemon than that," said Butch "we got Bagons, Slakings, Aggrons, Dusclops', Absols and we even found a lot of pokemon fossils and they had been resurrected by the lab now. The trio clinched their teeth; they hated it when Butch and Cassidy were ahead of them. "Now if you don't mind Butch and I have an assignment with Dr Namba" said Cassidy, and she and Butch left. "Grr those two get on my nerves" said Jessie, crossly. "Yeah and I wish we can just mop the floors with their faces" said James. "So anyhow where we shall go to gather more pokemon?" asked Meowth. Jessie and James thought for a moment. "Well since we are back in the Kanto region, why don't we just go around Kanto again". Jessie and James saw no reason to go against that idea so they agreed, and they left the Team Rocket headquarters at once.
At that time Ash, Tomo and Brock had arrived back to Kanto and right now the Ketchum brothers were saying goodbye to Brock because he was going back to Pewter City. "You two take care of yourselves" said Brock. "Say hi to your family for us" said Ash. Then Brock left for Pewter while the Ketchum brothers and Pikachu and Growlithe headed off for Pallet Town. Right now they had come to Viridian City. "Doesn't look like that Viridian has changed much since we were last here" said Tomo. "You're right," said Ash "but there is something that has changed a bit though". Ash had just seen the Viridian Gym and it looked different than the last time the boys saw it. The building was still the same, but it had a new fresh coat of paint and it looked more beautiful and shiny; last time the boys saw it the colours of the building was pale and plain. "Hey brother who do you think is running the gym now?" asked Tomo. "I don't know," said Ash "but it's not run by Team Rocket anymore that's for sure".
(Flashback)
Sometime after Ash, Tomo, Misty and Brock went to Pallet Town after Ash got the Earth badge they told Prof Oak that the Viridian Gym was run by Team Rocket. Of course Prof Oak was not happy with what the gang said and he contacted the pokemon inspection agency at once and told them about the Viridian Gym being run by Team Rocket. The pokemon inspection agency went to inspect it at once and police were with them too. But when the agency and police got to the gym, Giovanni, his agents and his pokemon were not there anymore. Apparently Giovanni had found out about his cover being blown and he fled the gym. So Team Rocket no longer ran the gym and a new gym leader was to take over the Viridian Gym.

Suddenly a red sports car stopped in front of Ash and Tomo and a man came out of the car. "Hi there," said the man "are you two pokemon trainers?" "Yes we are sir" answered Ash. "Well I'm Scott and I'm an agent," said Scott "what's your names and are you here to earn Viridian Gym's badge?" "I'm Ash and this is my brother Tomo," answered Ash "I already have the Earth Badge and my brother here doesn't do gyms; he just travels with me". "Well then Ash you must be a very strong trainer," said Scott "and maybe you will qualify for the Battle Frontier". "What's the Battle Frontier?" asked Tomo.
Before Scott could answer there was a scream and a crash. A woman fell off her bicycle. Scott and the Ketchum brothers ran over to help her. "Thank you," said the woman "I'm afraid my bike slipped while I was taking a turn. Thank goodness I didn't land on my shopping". Tomo took her shopping bags. "Wait a minute, aren't you Agatha of the Elite Four?" asked Ash. "Yes I am," answered Agatha "and I am temporary the gym leader of Viridian Gym. A new gym leader will be taking my place in a couple of months".
Agatha led Scott and the Ketchum brothers into the gym. The inside of the gym had painted over too, so to Ash and Tomo the gym was different than when they last saw it. Agatha asked Ash if he was here to battle her for a badge, but Ash explained that he already had the Earth Badge. "Why not just battle for fun?" asked Scott "I would love to see how you battle Ash". "I would like that too," said Agatha "the truth is I had two trainers battling me yesterday. But none of them or their pokemon put up a good fight against me. So I need a challenger who would give me a good fight". "Well I earned Top 4 of the Ever Grand Conference in Hoenn," said Ash so I will give you a battle". Agatha accepted the challenge and Scott couldn't wait to watch Ash.
So Agatha and Ash got ready to fight each other. Ash sent out Pikachu and Agatha sent out a Gengar. Ash knew that Pikachu's fighting and normal type moves wouldn't work, so he would have to stick with Pikachu's electrical attacks and iron tail. "Pikachu let's start off with thunderbolt" he said. As Pikachu fired thunderbolt, Agatha told Gengar to dodge and Gengar disappeared into the floor and out again. "Now use shadow ball Gengar" said Agatha. Gengar fired a shadow ball attack at Pikachu. "Quick dodge that and then use iron tail" Ash said to Pikachu. Pikachu jumped over the shadow ball and whacked Gengar hard with iron tail. Scott and Agatha were impressed. Pikachu was about to try and whack Gengar with iron tail again, but Agatha ordered Gengar to use double team. "Use volt tackle Pikachu" said Ash. Pikachu charged into the multiple copies of Gengar with volt tackle and then he charged into the real Gengar. "Let's go with thunder now Pikachu" said Ash. Just before Pikachu could use thunder, Agatha told her Gengar to use hypnosis. The hypnosis attack hit Pikachu and he fell asleep. "Now use dream eater Gengar" said Agatha. Dream eater was a psychic move that made the user drain away the energy of the opponent while the opponent was asleep. Gengar drained all of Pikachu's energy and Pikachu fainted. So Agatha was the winner of the battle.
"I must say Ash," said Agatha "you are certainly a strong trainer, although your strength doesn't matches an Elite Four member's strength yet". "Yeah I already know that;" said Ash "I battled Lorelei in the Orange Islands two years ago and her Slowbro defeated us without even breaking a sweat". "I see, but then again you and Pikachu gave me a really good fight" said Agatha. "I agree," said Scott "and that's why I think you are perfect to participate in the Battle Frontier".
Scott explained to Ash that the Battle Frontier was made up with seven battle facilities all spread out through Kanto. "Hang on a minute," said Ash "I travelled through Kanto before and I never heard about the Battle Frontier then". Apparently only very strong pokemon trainers can earn the right to challenge the Battle Frontier. "Oh that's because I only reveal the Battle Frontier to very strong trainers and not beginner trainers" said Scott. Scott then explained that the battle facilities each had a frontier brain, who sort of like gym leaders but stronger. And if the trainer defeats a frontier brains he would receive a frontier symbol, which was like a gym badge. "The catch is though is you will be told where the first six of the facilities are, but you have to defeat the first six first to locate the seventh battle facility. So Ash what do you say?" "I say the Battle Frontier sounds wonderful," said Ash "so I'm defiantly taking the challenge". "Yeah, it will be nice to travel around Kanto" agreed Tomo. Pikachu and Growlithe thought it was a great idea too.
So it was agreed; Ash decided that his next journey would be through Kanto again, but challenge the Battle Frontier. Scott had to leave now to see if he could find more strong trainers to challenge the Battle Frontier. "I'll contact you again Ash" he said, and he left in his car. Then Ash and Tomo said goodbye to Agatha and set off again for Pallet Town.
There was a surprise for Ash and Tomo when they finally reached Pallet Town. Once they opened the door of their house, they not only saw Delia and Prof Oak but Misty as well. "Misty what are you doing here?" asked Ash, in surprise. Tomo was surprised to see Misty too and so were Pikachu and Growlithe. "Prof Oak phoned me to say you two were coming home so I dropped by to say hi" said Misty. By Misty's feet was an Azuril and, to Ash's surprise, a baby Mudkip. "Wow when did you get the baby Mudkip Misty?" asked Tomo. Misty explained that she got both her Azuril and baby Mudkip from Tracey when they were still in eggs. So her Azuril was not born from her Azumaril; it was born from Tracey's Marill. And Mudkip was left at the lab as an egg so Misty agreed to have it. "So Ash and Tomo I take it you have stories about your journey in Hoenn you want to talk about to me" said Delia. "We have plenty of stories to tell" said Ash.
Suddenly a horn of a car was heard from outside. When Ash opened the door he saw Prof Birch and Max outside. "Prof Birch and Max, what are you doing here?" said Ash. Prof Birch explained that he planned to visit Prof Oak and Max asked to come along because he wanted to visit Prof Oak's lab too.
That night, over dinner, Ash, Max and Tomo spoke about their journey in Hoenn; they talked about the places they went to, they people they met, all the new pokemon they saw, and about the gyms and contests. They even talked about what happened with Team Aqua and Magma. Prof Birch said that the Team Magma and Aqua members are put under supervision 24 hours a day in prison to make sure they don't try anything else again. "I thought you did brilliantly in the Grand Festival and Ever Grande Conference Ash" said Misty. "Yes and it's great that you won the bronze medal this time" said Prof Oak. "Yes, but that's not the only thing I ended up earning" said Ash. He took out the Hoenn League badge out from his ruck sack. "How did you earn that Ash?" asked Misty "I mean you earned the medal for coming in 3rd place". "You wouldn't believe it" said Ash.
(Flashback)
Just after the closing ceremony of the Ever Grand Conference, the gang and Morrison and Tyson were celebrating in the pokemon center. When suddenly Growlithe noticed something in the bin and he ran over to it. Tomo went over to see what Growlithe was doing and when they got to the bin they saw the Hoenn League badge right away. "Oh my goodness" said Tomo. He and Growlithe couldn't believe that a pokemon league badge was in the bin. They went back to the others and showed them the badge that had been in the bin.

"Gosh whoever tossed their pokemon league badge in the bin must have been some real sore loser" said Misty. "Yes and we took the badge to Mr Goodshow and told him where I found it" said Tomo. "He tried to found out who owned it, but nobody turned up to claim it," said Ash "so Mr Goodshow decided to give it to me, even if I earned the bronze medal". "I think you should keep it Ash," said Prof Oak "after all you have the pokemon league badges from the Indigo and Johto Leagues". Ash agreed. "Well Ash you can place your medal, badge and gym badges in the cabinet, oh and you can place your contest ribbons in there too" said Delia. And that's what Ash did. Everyone continued to talk to each other until it was time for bed.
Next day Ash, Tomo, Misty and Max went to visit Prof Oak's lab. Max was excited about seeing Prof Oak's lab and meeting Tracey. He was also impressed about Tracey being a pokemon watcher and his sketches of pokemon. Tracey also introduced Max to a Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, who were going to be starter pokemon for new trainers. The Bulbasaur and Charmander liked the attention they were getting from Max, but the Squirtle was shy and cried when it was frightened. When Max tried to comfort it, it just ran around the lab.
Suddenly, to Max's surprise, May walked into the lab and Squirtle jumped into her arms. "Hey Max what are you doing scaring pokemon?" asked May "and why are you here?" Prof Birch explained that Max came to Pallet Town with him to visit Prof Oak. May explained that she came here to Kanto because pokemon contests were now being held in Kanto. "Oh really then that will be two things that I'll be doing in Kanto then" said Ash. Ash explained to everyone about Scott and the Battle Frontier. "Wow that sounds amazing," said Max "I'm defiantly coming with you to see the Battle Frontier". May also decided to travel with Ash too, so May and Max were going to travel with Ash and Tomo in the Kanto region. Ash pointed out that they would leave the day after tomorrow, because he wanted to spend a day resting. No one saw anything wrong with that so it was arranged that the Kanto journey will begin the day after tomorrow.
For the rest of the day Ash and Tomo introduced all of their Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto and Hoenn pokemon to May and Max. May and Max were impressed with all the pokemon that Ash and Tomo had and they were surprised when they saw Ash's Mewtwo, Lugia and Celebi. Misty was impressed with Ash's Hoenn pokemon and she saw that Latios and Latias were doing great. "I just remembered," said Misty "my sister Violet evolved two of her Lombre into Ludicolo and one of her Wailmer evolved into a Wailord". "Well I bet your sisters are happy then?" asked Ash. "Oh yes," said Misty "and I now have a Walrein and a few Sealeo". Tomo asked May and May how their pokemon were doing. "Oh they are fine," said May "except my pokemon, who went to Prof Birch's lab, are all at Petalburg Gym". May explained that all of her pokemon preferred Norman's greenhouse rather than Prof Birch's lab, so most of her pokemon are living at Petalburg Gym. The current pokemon she had with her were Combusken, Starmie, Bulbasaur and Munchlax. Max had Beldum, Ralts, Whismur and Poochyena; the rest were all at Petalburg Gym too. "I can't wait to catch new pokemon here in Kanto" said Max. Neither could May.
What the gang didn't know was Jessie, James and Meowth had come to Prof Oak's lab. "There seems to be more pokemon here than we last came here" said James. "Yeah so let's grab them and present them to the boss" said Meowth. "Yes and we will show that Cassidy and Butch a thing or two" said Jessie.
Unfortunately their plan didn't go so well. Mewtwo sensed the trio's presence and told Ash. "It's obvious those three haven't changed a bit" said Misty. "Make them leave Mewtwo" said Ash. Ash didn't want trouble this time, so he asked Mewtwo make them leave with his hypnotism. So that's what Mewtwo did; he put the rocket trio in a trance and told them to leave, and the trio left without even realizing it. "That was a good idea Ash" said Misty. "It beats than having to cause mayhem at the lab again" said Ash.
So with Team Rocket gone, the rest of the day was a day without trouble.
I don't know when Giovanni fled being a gym leader, but I'm pretty sure it was sometime after Gary and the gang realized that the gym was run by Team Rocket. I mean since the police were searching for Team Rocket, Gary or someone else must have told them then. I can't believe Ash always forgets in the anime that normal attacks don't do a thing on ghost types. I decided to have Ash have the Hoenn league badge that someone tossed, because I thought not having a league badge would suit his winnings. He'll have the league badges from the Sinnoh and Unova Leagues too that another competitor tossed away.
