Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 91
The Big Lake,
Lavender Contest
And the Battle Dome
The gang was on the way to Lavender Town for the next pokemon contest. Ash couldn't wait to get to Lavender Town; going to Lavender Town meant he could see his old friend Ken again. Right now they had come to a big lake. "Wow what a lake," said Tomo "I bet a lot of water pokemon are living here". "There are," said Ash "I saw this lake on the computer some time ago and it says we are allowed to fish here. Oh but there people who look after this lake, so we'll have to let them know that we are here and ask them if it's all right". "I see a cabin there," said Brock, pointing to a wooden cabin, "so the people who look after the lake must be there".
The gang went up to the cabin and knocked on the door. An old woman and a young woman opened the door and greeted the gang. The young woman was named Tiffany and the old woman was Tiffany's grandmother Galea. Ash asked Tiffany and Galea if they could fish in the lake. "Of course," said Tiffany "trainers are always welcome to fish here, and they are also welcome to train their pokemon. Just don't cause any damage or go crazy with capturing pokemon. We had some troublesome trainers here before and they upset the pokemon around here a lot". "Don't you worry," said Brock "we've trained around lakes before and we have always been careful". Tiffany and Galea were happy to hear that. "Maybe one of you trainers will be lucky enough to catch the Masquerain" said Galea. Galea explained that a wild Masquerain lived around the lake and she said that this Masquerain was something special. "It knows the move hydro pump, psybeam and signal beam". "Whoa hydro pump and psybeam must be egg moves because they can't normally learn those moves" said Max. Ash thought this Masquerain would make an excellent member for his pokemon team. "Many trainers have tried to capture it," said Tiffany "but that Masquerain defeats their pokemon no matter what type they use. No capturing it won't be easy". "Well you kids enjoy yourselves," said Galea "and tell us if you need anything".
And so the gang settled down near the lake. "This is a good chance to train my new Metapod and help it evolve to Butterfree" said May. May's Caterpie evolved into Metapod just after May won the Silver Town contest. "Hey Ash could can I borrow your Blastoise? I want it to help train Squirtle". "Of course" said Ash. Ash had Blastoise with him and gave Blastoise's pokeball to May. Tomo decided to train his Pidgey and his new Natu; he hadn't started on training Natu yet. Brock and Max decided to check out the lake for water pokemon together and Ash decided to look for the Masquerain and catch it. "Are you sure about that Ash?" asked Brock "Tiffany said it may be impossible to catch". "Yep that Masquerain will be perfect for my pokemon team," said Ash, "and I have the perfect pokeball for it. He took out a blue-green and black marked pokeball from his pocket. "Hey that's a net ball;" said Max "that's used to capture water and bug type pokemon. Where did you get that Ash?" "I got it just before Tomo, Brock and I left Hoenn," said Ash "and since Masquerain is a bug type I shall use this for Masquerain". He and Pikachu decided to go off together, leaving the others, to find the Masquerain.
With Brock and Max watching the lake and May's Eevee egg, and Ash going off to find Masquerain May and Tomo got ready to train at once. Tomo went to some trees and called out his Natu and Pidgey. Even though Natu was a baby, she already knew some good moves; she knew peck, leer, night shade, teleport and the egg moves drill peck and quick attack. "Okay Natu you and Pidgey are going to train together today," said Tomo "Pidgey I need you to help Natu with quick attack and teach her steel wing and air cutter". Pidgey had learnt steel wing and air cutter from Ash's Pidgeot, and now Pidgey will be the teacher for Natu. Natu couldn't fly well because her wings were too small, but she could still learn air cutter and steel wing.
May was by some trees too and she called out her Metapod. "Okay Metapod, lets help you evolve to Butterfree," she said "and once you are a Butterfree you can enter the pokemon contests with me". Metapod wanted to evolve to Butterfree and be in pokemon contests and wanted to train right away. "We'll train with Squirtle; he'll be perfect for this" said May. So she released her Squirtle and they got ready to train Metapod.
Meanwhile Ash and Pikachu began their search for Masquerain. "Hey Pikachu," said Ash "it's time to use my aura again to help us find this Masquerain. Don't you agree?" Pikachu agreed with the idea. So Ash closed his eyes and thought in his mind that he wanted to find a Masquerain. Then the aura energy appeared in Ash's eyes again and showed him the surroundings of the lake. Then at last he saw a shape of a Masquerain between some trees. "I found it Pikachu, and believe it or not it's flying towards where we are standing now". Pikachu was surprised to hear that. "We'll hide behind a tree and wait till Masquerain comes". So Ash and Pikachu hid behind a tree and waited for Masquerain. Soon Masquerain appeared and Ash and Pikachu came out from behind the tree. "I'm going to capture you Masquerain" said Ash, and he sent out Pupitar to battle. Masquerain was weak against rock type since it was part flying type. Masquerain fired bubblebeam at Pupitar. "Dodge that and use ancient power Pupitar" said Ash. Pupitar dodged the bubblebeam and fired ancient power towards Masquerain, but Masquerain dodged the ancient power attack. "This maybe hard because I remember Drew's Masquerain being quick too" said Ash.
Meanwhile May was looking over how her Squirtle and Metapod were doing. So far she had them practice their attacks. "Okay Squirtle let have Ash's Blastoise show you some of its moves" said May. Squirtle was delighted to hear that; het met Blastoise before and got on well with him. May released Blastoise from his pokeball and Blastoise and Squirtle were happy to see each other. "Excuse me Blastoise," said May "but can you show Squirtle some of your moves?" Blastoise was happy to do that. He showed Squirtle the attacks bite, rapid spin and protect. Blastoise remembered what it was like being a Squirtle and knew that Squirtle should stick with the smaller moves rather than the high powered ones. May's Squirtle was nowhere near ready to learn high powered moves yet. "Wow Blastoise your bite, rapid spin and protect moves were great", "said May "hey Squirtle why don't you try and learn the moves, while I deal with Metapod?" Squirtle was more than happy to train with Blastoise.
At that time Ash was having trouble with Masquerain; being a speedy pokemon it was difficult for Pupitar to hit it. "Okay let's do it this way," said Ash "Pupitar use screech". Ash and Pikachu covered their ears, while Pupitar did screech. The screech really put off Masquerain from doing anything. "Now's your chance Pupitar, stone edge". Pupitar fired stone edge at Masquerain and Masquerain got hit by the stones. Masquerain wasn't beaten yet and fired hydro pump. "Use dig Pupitar" said Ash. Pupitar dug into the ground and managed to avoid being hit by the hydro pump. "Use dark pulse" said Ash. Pupitar jumped out of his hole and fired dark pulse, which hit Masquerain. "Okay I think its weak enough" said Ash. He tossed the net ball at Masquerain, and Masquerain got sucked in it. Ash was worried while the net ball shook because he feared that maybe Masquerain wasn't weak enough yet. But the net ball dinged, which meant that Masquerain was captured. "All right we did it!" cheered Ash. Pikachu and Pupitar jumped up and down, cheering. "Let's check out Masquerain. Ash checked out with his pokedex that his Masquerain was female and she knew bubble, quick attack, sweet scent, bubble beam, mist, ominous wind, gust, aerial ace, stun spore, air slash, silver wind, shadow ball, energy ball, ice beam and the egg moves hydro pump, psybeam and signal beam. "Wow I am so lucky to have a cool pokemon like this," said Ash "I wonder what Drew would think if he saw this?" Pikachu and Pupitar figured that Drew would be speechless. "Come on guys let's go back to the others and tell them I've captured Masquerain".
At the lake Tomo was with Brock and Max with Pidgey and Natu back in their pokeballs. The training with Natu did not go well yet; Natu was still too young to perfect quick attack and learn steel wing and air cutter. Brock suggested that Tomo should wait till Natu grew up a bit more and then try again. May had a surprise for the boys when she joined them; her Metapod had evolved into Butterfree. And she told them that Squirtle learned bite, rapid spin and protect thanks to Ash's Blastoise. Squirtle and Blastoise were back in their pokeballs now. "I wonder if Ash captured that Masquerain?" said Max. Just then Ash and Pikachu turned up and Ash told everyone that he caught Masquerain. "Wow, so that means we had quite a day today" said Brock.
The gang exchanged all their news with Tiffany and Galea, as well as having tea with them. Tiffany and Galea were happy for Ash for catching Masquerain. And Tiffany wished May luck with Butterfree. Today had been quite a day for the gang.
Today the gang was at Lavender Town at last. Tomo, May and Max were surprised that there was a little mist in the town, but Ash told them it was natural in Lavender Town to have mist. Tomo had never been to Lavender Town before so he was glad that Ash was with him; he found misty places a bit scary. Just as the gang entered Lavender Town, Ken ran up to Ash. Ash had phoned Ken when they were still in Silver Town and told him that they were coming to Lavender Town for the pokemon contest. "It's great to see you again Ash," said Ken "I saw you on TV at the Kanto league, the Orange league, the Johto league and the Hoenn league. And I also watched you on TV at the contests; you are doing well for yourself". "Thank you Ken" said Ash. Ash introduced Ken to Tomo, May and Max. "It's great to see new friends of Ash and it's also nice to see Ash's new brother" said Ken. Ash told Ken about Tomo after his mum adopted Tomo. "So ken how have you been doing?" asked Ash. "Great and to let you know I'm planning to travel around Johto" said Ken. "Yes you told me that you planned to go out on a journey and enter a pokemon league," said Ash "oh and you also told me that your Poliwag was a Politoed now". "That's right," said Ken "I saw trainers with Politoeds on TV before and I decided on having a Politoed instead of a Poliwrath. Oh and get this; in the Pokemon Tower new ghost pokemon had made their home in there". Ken explained that groups of Misdreavus, Shuppet and Duskull had started to live in the pokemon. "Well at lease the Ghastly, Haunter and Gengar have new friends to play with" said Brock. Ken led the gang to the contest hall of Lavender Town and Ash and May signed up right away. "I can't wait to see you two participate in the contest;" said Ken "this time I will be watching you in the contest hall rather than on TV". "If I win this contest I will be getting my third ribbon" said May. "This one will be my second ribbon" said Ash. "Good luck to both of you" said Ken.
The Lavender Contest was now on the way, with Lilian doing the usual introductions and showing off the ribbon. The Lavender ribbon was designed like the ribbons in Hoenn; a bow with a pin in the middle. It was dark lavender colored with a light lavender outline. Ken was sitting in the audience seat with Brock, Max and Brock. "It feels nice watching a contest in here rather than on TV for once" said Ken. "It's always the best this way," said Max "and it's great seeing the pokemon leagues at the actual stadiums too".
The pokemon contest started and Ash was up first. He called out his Misdreavus. The audience started cheering when they saw Misdreavus. Ken explained to Max, Tomo and Brock that everyone in Lavender likes ghost type pokemon. "That means Ash will be popular if he wins this contest then" said Brock. Ash told his Misdreavus to use shadow ball, and Misdreavus fired multiple shadow ball attacks into the air. "Now use power gem Misdreavus" said Ash. Misdreavus fired power gem at the shadow balls and the balls expanded creating purple and red fireworks. "Now icy wind" said Ash. Misdreavus blew icy wind towards the fireworks and it made sparkly particles next to the fireworks. Ash and Misdreavus got a lot of applauding from that. A few more coordinators went after Ash and then it was May's turn. May called out her Squirtle. "Okay Squirtle water gun on the stage". Squirtle sprayed water onto the stage giving it puddles. "Now rapid spin Squirtle". Squirtle spun round, in his shell, and skipped across the puddles like a skipping stone." Now finish off with bubble". Squirtle stopped skipping on the puddles and blew a few bubbles from his mouth to finish. "Ash and May are good at this," said Ken "it's funny though because I never thought Ash would be the type to enter pokemon contests. He always liked pokemon battles, so I was surprised when I saw Ash doing pokemon contests on TV". "When Ash entered his first contest in Rustboro City he found it fun and decided then to continue doing contests" said Brock.
The battle rounds came up and four coordinators could pass and Ash and May were two of them. Ash and May were up against the other two coordinators first, but they had to battle each other in the battle rounds. Ash was using Gengar to battle and he defeated his opponents Kadabra easily with him. May was using Bulbasaur and she defeated her opponents Corsola. And now May and Ash had to fight each other. "Sorry to have to say this, but May isn't going to win" said Tomo. Tomo was right; as Gengar knew fire punch and icy wind, Bulbasaur didn't stand a chance against Gengar and fainted in a matter of minutes. So Ash was the winner and was presented the Lavender Ribbon.
The gang stayed over at Ken's house and they met Ken's Politoed. "Well Ash I hope you see me on TV when I participate in the Johto League" said Ken. "Of course," said Ash "let me know when you get to the Silver Conference and I will watch you then". So both Ash and May had two Kanto ribbons and only three more to go.
Today the gang had made it to the Battle Dome and they just exited the pokemon center. Suddenly they were surrounded by reporters and cameramen. The reporters and cameramen have heard about Ash competing in the battle frontier challenge and they wanted to ask him questions. Before Ash could answer any questions Scott came up and told the reporters to save the questions for the press conference. Ash was puzzled that he was going through something like this; he didn't have to go through this when he faced Noland and Greta. The press conference was held in another building. "You must be quite a trainer since you have already earned two frontier symbols," a female reporter said to Ash "would you mind sharing your secrets?" "Well," said Ash "my strategy is a best defense is a strong offence. As long as I stay strong so do my pokemon". Another reporter asked Ash what he thought about Tucker. Ash didn't know who Tucker was, but he had a feeling that he must be the frontier brain he had to face. "Well this is will be my first time meeting Tucker as well as battling him," said Ash "but I will beat him just like I defeated Noland and Greta". After that the press conference was over and Ash had to get ready to face Tucker.
The Battle Dome was a dome shaped building and inside was millions of seats surrounding the battle field. Scott explained to Tomo, Brock, May and Max that Tucker was a big superstar and he likes to entertain people with his battle frontier battles. Tucker had millions of fans and all the seats were filled. Scot and the others sat in special seats above the battle field. Ash was introduced to the audience and an announcer explained about him going through the Indigo league, Johto league, Hoenn league, the Hoenn grande festival and his winnings of the Orange league and the Whirl Cup. Then a purple haired man, dressed as a musical stage star, appeared on the stage; he was the frontier brain Tucker. "I welcome you to the Battle Dome," Tucker said to Ash "and this battle will be a battle for the Tactics Symbol" "And that symbol will be mine" said Ash. The Tactics Symbol was shown on a big TV screen and the symbol had an arch shape as well as small arch shape and two crescent shapes on each side. Tucker then sent out what pokemon he was using; Arcanine and Swampert. The referee was standing on a flying platform and he explained that the battle was a double battle. He also said to Ash that he was allowed to transfer any pokemon if he wanted to; a transfer machine was set up behind him. Ash had to think hard on what pokemon to use. 'I can't use any grass pokemon for Swampert because of Arcanine,' he thought 'but I can use a different pokemon that does know a grass move and I will also use a flying type for this'. "I'm going to do a quick switch" he said, and ran over to the machine. "I wonder what Ash will use?" said May. "I don't know," said Brock "but whatever he uses, he must be careful with his choice". A minute later Ash made his choice and sent out his pokemon; Miltank and Dragonite. "Why would he use Miltank?" asked May "I know Dragonite is a good choice, but I'm not sure about Miltank". "Well Ash's Miltank knows surf," said Max "I saw her using surf at the Silver Conference on TV". "Let's how Ash deals with this" said Scott.
The battle had now started, and Ash started off with telling his Dragonite to use extreme speed on Arcanine. But Tucker's Arcanine used extreme speed too and they tackled each other with their extreme speed attacks. "Okay Miltank help out with surf" said Ash. Dragonite flew into the air, while Miltank did her surf attack. But Swampert knew protect and it jumped in front of Arcanine and used protect to protect it and Arcanine together. "Oh man," said Tomo "and that strategy was a good one too". "It was a good strategy," said Scott "but Tucker's battling style is countering his opponent's pokemon's moves. So in this battle Ash will have to think really hard". This meant that this battle will not be easy for Ash. "Okay Miltank let's use rollout" said Ash. Miltank rolled towards Swampert to tackle it, but Arcanine charged in with aerial ace and tackled Miltank. "As you can see Ash," said Tucker "you're going to have to come up with better tactics to beat my Arcanine and Swampert". 'He's right about that,' thought Ash 'his Arcanine and Swampert is a real working pair. But my Dragonite and Miltank are strong too, and we will beat them'. Tucker made his move by telling his Arcanine to use flamethrower. "Use water gun Dragonite" said Ash. The flamethrower and water gun collided with each other, creating a lot of steam. "Miltank use stomp on Swampert". Miltank got ready to stomp Swampert, but Swampert used mud bomb and Miltank was thrown back. "Okay Swampert it's time" said Tucker. Swampert's tail glowed orange; this meant it was gathering water vapors from the air to use a powerful water move. "Now use water pulse". This was trouble for Ash; the water pulse attack trapped both Dragonite and Miltank in a watery tornado. "Now Arcanine use fire blast". Arcanine's fire blast attack combined with the water tornado creating a fire and water tornado. "Behold my creation of a combination attack," said Tucker "one that causes two attacks to cause a lot of damage; my fire and water fusion". Everyone in the crowd was cheering; it seemed this was Tucker's famous move. Ash and the gang were surprised by this; they had never seen anything like this. Dragonite and Miltank were hurt, but they could still fight. Ash knew that if his pokemon got hit by any more combination attacks he might lose this. Tucker ordered his Swampert to use dynamic punch on Miltank, but Ash told his Dragonite to use dragon rush on Swampert. A blue dragon shaped energy covered Dragonite and Dragonite slammed into Swampert before it could attack Miltank. "Now Miltank use hyper beam on Arcanine" said Ash. Miltank fired hyper beam at Arcanine and Arcanine got hit by it. Swampert and Arcanine were not beaten yet. "This is the fighting spirit I like to challenge," said Tucker "Arcanine use fire blast". "Counter that with water gun Dragonite and Miltank get onto Dragonite's back". Miltank rode on Dragonite's back and Dragonite used water gun to counter the fire blast attack. The fire blast and water gun attack created a thick mist and no one could see a thing. Ash saw this as a chance to attack and he told both his Dragonite and Miltank to use hyper beam. The two hyper beams went towards Arcanine and Swampert, who still couldn't see in the fog. Tucker had no time to give his pokemon a demand and Arcanine and Swampert were hit by the attacks. Swampert and Arcanine couldn't take anymore and were defeated. So Ash was the winner.
Ash told his Dragonite and Miltank that they did a wonderful job and Tucker returned his Arcanine and Swampert. Scott and the gang were happy for Ash, but the audience wasn't cheering because Tucker lost. Tucker walked up to Ash, clapping for him. "Ash you showed an impressive grasp of tactics with flexibility," he said "you are a top notch tactician". At that moment the crowd cheered for Tucker's good sportsmanship and for Ash. The gang congratulated Ash and Scott said he was very impressed indeed. Tucker had one more tactic for Ash; he somehow magically placed the Tactics Symbol on top of Ash's cap. Ash was surprised by that trick but was happy to have earned his third frontier symbol.
Today had been quite a day for Ash.
Sorry for the wait; I always have to wait for my sister to finish with my computer. The big lake is based off the 'an olden pond' episode, but without the Dragonair and businessman and other things. I bred my own Surskit in the games and had it have the egg move hydro pump. I don't understand why in the anime Ash never had some of his old pokemon to teach his new pokemon. I mean Buizel could have trained Oshawott and Gible could have helped Axew etc. So like I said in an earlier chapter Ash's old pokemon will help train the new pokemon. I'm having Ash see some old friends he met before in Kanto, and yes they will meet up with Ritchie but at the Kanto Grande Festival. As you know I don't know where else in Kanto the pokemon contests were held so I made up myself where Ash gains his Kanto ribbons. Thanks to everyone's votes Dawn will get a shiny Ariados. Now I have a new poll. As well as Ash getting a Riolu in Rota while he's training his aura, I've been thinking of having Ash catch another Sinnoh pokemon in Rota but I'm not sure which one; Piplup, Budew or Shinx. Please help me choose with my poll.
