Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 92
The Celadon Contest,
Meeting Solana
And Back at the pokemon reserve
The gang was in a pickle the next day after the Lavender Contest; they found out that a pokemon contest was held in Celadon City but it was tomorrow. May feared there was no way they could get to the pokemon contest on time. But Ash had an idea; he suggested they rode on his Pidgeot, Fearow and Dragonite and fly to get to Celadon City. The others thought that was a good idea; it would be quicker to get to Celadon City by air than by foot. So Ash and Tomo rode on Dragonite with Pikachu and Growlithe, May and Max rode on Pidgeot and Brock rode on Fearow. Thanks to Ash's idea the gang made it to Celadon City on time to sign up for the contest. Max thought riding on a pokemon was a great way to travel.
Since the contest wasn't until tomorrow, the gang decided to hang out in Celadon City. That was when May suggested they visited the perfume shop. "I heard they have the best perfume in the entire world" she said. "It's true, their perfume is nice," said Ash "I brought one for my mum when I was last here in Celadon City and mum loved it a lot. In fact she orders perfume from this city now". So everyone went to visit the perfume shop. Erika and her workers were happy to see Ash and Brock again, and they greeted Tomo, May and Max. "I'm actually glad that you've come here to enter the pokemon contest Ash because I will be participating in it" said Erika. "Are you really Erika?" asked Ash, in surprise. "Yes so you better be ready in case we have to face each other" said Erika. "I look forward to that," said Ash "after all it has been a few years since we last battled each other". "What made you decide to enter a pokemon contest?" asked Brock. "Well you won't believe this, but a lot of fans of my perfume have been hoping that I would enter the contest here in Celadon City," said Erika "so I decided to enter it to not disappoint my fans". Brock understood. Just then Erika's Gloom came out from behind the counter and so did a Bellossom. "Hey a Bellossom," said Ash "is this yours Erika?" "Yes I caught this Bellossom a few months ago" answered Erika. "That's not the only new pokemon Erika has," said one of the workers "she also has a Chikorita, a Bayleef and a Meganium". "And a Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff" said another worker. "And a Sunkern and Sunflora" said a third worker. So Erika had obtained new pokemon since the last time she saw Ash. "Well Ash I look forward to tomorrow" said Erika. "So do I Erika" said Ash.
The next day was the pokemon contest. Five of Erika's workers were sitting in the audience seats with Brock, Tomo and Max. "It will be great seeing the gym leader of Celadon Gym enter a pokemon contest" said Max, excitedly. "I can't wait to see Ash battle Erica since I didn't see him battle her at the gym" said Tomo; after all he wasn't with the gang at that time. The contest now started and Lilian showed off the Celadon ribbon, which was the same designed ribbon as Ash's Lavender ribbon and it was a forest green color with a lighter green outline.
The appeal rounds started and Erika was up first and she sent out her Bellossom. "Bellossom start things off with Magical leaf". Bellossom fired leaves about. "Now use leaf blade". Bellossom used leaf blade to cut the leaves to shreds. "Now finish off with a little stun spore". Bellossom sprayed a little stun spore to make a finish. "Wow Erika made good work of that with Bellossom" said Max. "Well she is a grass type gym leader, so I think she would" said Tomo. Next up was Ash and he used, to everyone's surprise, Celebi. The crowd and judges were surprised to see Celebi, and Erika's workers were speechless. "Wow I have heard of Celebi," said one of the workers "but I never thought I would see one for real". "I never thought that anybody would own a Celebi" said another worker. Brock, Tomo and Max found it amusing of everyone getting surprised of seeing Ash's Celebi. "Celebi start off with safeguard" said Ash. Celebi glowed green and she started to fly around like she was dancing. "Now magical leaf and then confusion". Celebi scattered some leaves and used confusion to twirl them around her while she still danced. And then she landed on Ash's right hand to finish. The audience clapped and cheered loudly for Ash and Celebi. After that it was May's turn and she used Butterfree. "Butterfree use stun spore poison powder and sleep powder" she said. Butterfree created a wave of orange, purple and blue pollen. "Hey that's like what Jeremy did in the Silver Town contest," said Max "except he didn't use sleep powder that time". "May must have decided to do something based on that" said Brock. "Now use confusion Butterfree" said May. Butterfree used confusion to spin the wave of orange, purple and blue pollen around and it looked like a painting. The audience loved it.
When the appeal rounds were over only eight coordinators could get into the battle rounds and Erika, May and Ash were three of them. Ash, May and Erika battled and defeated other trainers in the first battle rounds; Ash used his Arbok, May used her Combusken and Erika used her Gloom. In the second round, though, May had to battle Erika. May knew that Erika was a strong grass type trainer, but she and Combusken didn't back down. May had her Combusken attack Gloom with his fire attacks, but Erika knew how to handle fire types with Gloom. Erika had Gloom use the move protect and have it dodged Combusken's fire spin and flamethrower attacks. And Gloom used toxic to poison Combusken. May tried to fight back but because of the poison, Combusken collapsed and May lost the round. "It's obvious," said Max "my sister has a lot to learn about battling gym leaders". "Yeah especially since gym leaders are stronger than original trainers" agreed Brock.
Ash defeated his opponent in the second round, who used a Spearow. Then of course it was time for Ash to face Erika. Ash and Erika were looking forward to facing each other again; after all he has been a few years since Ash faced Erika and earned the Rainbow Badge. As soon as the battle began Erika ordered her Gloom to start off with petal dance. "Use dig Arbok" said Ash. Arbok dug into the ground and dodged being hit by the petal dance. "Stand on guard for Arbok Gloom" said Erika. Arbok then came out of the ground and tackled Gloom. "Quick Gloom use energy ball" said Erika. Gloom fired energy ball and Arbok got hit by hit, but of course Arbok didn't get hurt much since he was a poison type. "You're a good battler like you were when we battled at my gym Ash" said Erika. "I've gotten stronger ever since that time," said Ash "now Arbok use glare". Arbok glared at Gloom and Gloom became paralyzed. "Sorry Erika," said Ash "but even I know that even though stun spore wouldn't work on grass pokemon, thunder wave and glare will". "You really have grown since we last saw each other Ash" said Erika. The audience didn't take their eyes off the battle a bit. "Is it me or is Erika enjoying this battle?" asked Max. "She is," said one off Erika's workers "she's putting on one of her faces that proves she's enjoying this battle". Erika told her Gloom to use sludge bomb, and Ash told his Arbok to use dig. Again Arbok dodged Gloom's attack and Gloom had no idea when Arbok would pop up again. "Come out and use fire fang Arbok" said Ash. Arbok came out of the ground and bit down on Gloom with fire fang. Gloom got hurt by the fire type move. Erika was shocked; she didn't expect Ash's Arbok to know fire fang. Just then the timing was up and the result was Ash had a few more points than Erika, so Ash won.
So Ash was the winner of the Celadon contest and he received the Celadon ribbon. After the contest was over Erika invited the gang to stay at her gym for the night. Max was happy that he got to see and stay at a gym in Kanto and he saw all of Erika's grass pokemon, and May of course couldn't stop admiring the perfumes. Erika congratulated Ash again on his win of the pokemon contest, and Ash was happy to have earned his third contest ribbon.
After leaving Celadon City, the gang was on their way for Fuchsia City. The next battle facility, the Battle Pike, was located just outside Fuchsia City. Right now they had come to a bridge that leads to Fuchsia City. But there was a problem; the bridge was closed. Officer Jenny explained that there was a mudslide from the weather last night, so they couldn't cross the bright. But there was a foot path they could walk through to get to Fuchsia City, so the gang decided to take the foot path. "This doesn't make sense," said May "I mean I know we have terrible rain last night. But surely it wouldn't have been bad enough to cause a mudslide could it?" "Well you can never tell with weather" said Brock. Ash had hoped they would be able to cross the bridge to travel on bikes, but they couldn't argue with the police about it.
Suddenly Pikachu and Growlithe started to run into the forest. "Hey Pikachu and Growlithe what's wrong?" asked Ash. The gang started to run after Pikachu and Growlithe, but then they got stopped by a Plusle. Then a girl with teal hair and red eyes, and wearing a red jacket, white shirt, black shorts, black socks and red shoes came up to the gang. "Go back," said the girl "no one is allowed to pass this point". "It's a pokemon ranger" said Max. Pokemon rangers were people who protected nature and pokemon from danger, especially from poachers and other bad people like that. Ash explained to the pokemon ranger about Pikachu and Growlithe running off into the forest. The ranger picked up something that looked like a mobile phone and spoke to someone. "A Pikachu and Growlithe have gone over the line and their trainers are here as well as some friends" she said. A minute later she got off the phone. "So who are all of you?" she asked the gang. The gang introduced themselves. "Well my name is Solana," said Solana "and this Plusle is my partner. The ranger union said you can move on to search for Pikachu and Growlithe. Follow me".
In the forest Pikachu and Growlithe were still running. Apparently the real reason that the bridge was closed was because there were giant green prickly thorns everywhere. But Pikachu and Growlithe were not the only ones in the forest. Jessie, James and Meowth were also there because they were seeing what pokemon lived in the forest. "Ugh these vines are annoying!" shouted Jessie. "I wonder how they grew to this size anyway?" said James. "Never mind that!" shouted Jessie "the problem is how we get through them". "This is easy," said James "some of my pokemon know the move cut". He sent out Cacnea, Nuzleaf, Roselia and Sunny and ordered them to use cut on the vines. Thanks to the move cut, Team Rocket managed to get through.
At that time the gang was following Solana in the forest. "Excuse me Solana," said Ash "but are the pokemon rangers people who go around protecting nature, humans and pokemon a like?" "That's right Ash," said Solana "and we use wild pokemon to help us". Ash was about to ask Solana some more questions, but then they had to stop. They came across some giant thorny vines. "This is the work of a Celebi" said Ash, recognizing the vines. "You're right Ash these vines are from a Celebi" said Brock. "Wait," said Solana "you lot know about Celebi?" asked Solana. Ash, Brock and Tomo explained they had met Celebi before, and they even told her that Ash had a Celebi of his own. May and Max admitted to Solana that they spoke the truth because they had seen Ash's Celebi. Solana couldn't believe her ears. "I hope you didn't catch it against its will Ash" she said, cautiously. "Oh no, no, no," said Ash "my Celebi asked me itself to be captured. And I would never ever capture legendary pokemon against their will". "Ash speaks the truth again" said Brock. Solana started at Ash again. "Well that's all right then," she said "the ranger union will be surprised to hear this". "I must ask, how are we going to get through the vines?" asked May. "Well I have Grovyle with me," said Ash "so I can have him use cut to get through". "That's a good plan Ash," said Solana "but we'll need some more help than that". She took out her phone thing and started to scan the wild pokemon living in the area. "What is that thing that you've got there?" asked Tomo. "This is a capture styler" answered Solana. Solana explained that a capture styler was a device that scanned a pokemon's abilities and conditions, and that it was helpful to pokemon rangers when they needed wild pokemon to help them. "From the look of that thing, it's like a phone, map and pokedex all put together" said Ash. "You could say that Ash," chuckled Solana "it's a very handy device for a pokemon ranger". Just then Solana scanned three wild Linoones and they all knew slash. "These Linoones will do the job" she said. She pressed a button on her capture styler and then the device sent out a spinning top thing and it went towards the Linoones, spinning around them. Solana then used her device to control the spinning top like a remote control, and it circled around the three Linoones. Then the three Linoones glowed white for a second and then Solana shouted "Capture complete". Tomo was awestruck with what just happened. "Uh what did you do?" he asked Solana. Brock explained that Solana used her capture styler to capture the three Linoones, but not like as capturing with pokeballs; the capture styler let's Solana borrow the wild pokemon for help, and then release them again when done. The gang was surprised by this and Tomo got more awestruck. Ash released his Grovyle and told him to use cut and Solana told the Linoones to use slash. Grovyle and the Linoones cut away the vines and Solana and the gang were able to get through.
Meanwhile Pikachu and Growlithe found Celebi amongst the vines. Celebi was injured and exhausted; it looked like it had been in danger. Growlithe went off to find some berries for Celebi and Pikachu stayed to keep it company. Pikachu made funny faces and Celebi laughed, happy to know it was safe. Soon Growlithe had come back with some oran berries to help Celebi heal. At that moment Solana and the gang turned up and Ash and Tomo were happy to see Pikachu and Growlithe again. Solana saw Celebi and went to check it. "Don't be afraid, Celebi" she said "we are here to help you". Pikachu and Growlithe spoke to Celebi, saying that the human spoke the truth. Celebi looked at the humans and agreed to let them help. Brock gave Celebi some medicine to heal and Solana laid Celebi down on a blanket and pillow to rest. "All Celebi needs is a good night's sleep and it should be all right" said Solana. "I wonder why Celebi placed all these vines here?" said May. "It must have been in trouble somewhere in the past or future," said Ash "when Celebi are in danger they time travel into the past or future to escape and when they are tired or hurt they put vines up to protect themselves till their well again. I know because the wild Celebi I met before did this". "I'm impressed with your knowledge of legendary pokemon Ash" smiled Solana. "I've read about legendary pokemon lots of times" replied Ash.
The next day Solana and the gang woke up to see that Celebi was fine and healthy again. The Celebi made the vines vanish because it didn't need them anymore. Suddenly it got grabbed by a mechanical robot. It was Team Rocket; they had heard about the Celebi and wanted it for themselves. "Release Celebi at once!" shouted Solana. Jessie, James and Meowth refused. Solana was not going to let them get away with this. She climbed a tree and swung on a vine to get onto the robot. The gang was impressed with how athletic Solana was. Solana told her Plusle to use thunder wave and the thunder wave attack paralyzed Jessie, James and Meowth and blew up their robot. Solana released Celebi from the mechanical arm at once. Of course Jessie and James were angry with that and they sent out Seviper and Cacnea to battle. Ash and Tomo stepped in to fight. Pikachu used thunder bolt on Seviper and Tomo used flamethrower on Cacnea. To finish it off Pikachu used volt tackle and Team Rocket was sent off flying.
But there was trouble; Team Rocket's machine was on fire and it could burn the forest. Ash was about to grab a pokeball to help, but he didn't need to do anything. Celebi used its vines and power to put out the fire and heal the forest, so everything was all right now. Since Celebi was all right now, it was going to time travel again. Solana and the gang said goodbye to Celebi and told it to take care. Celebi glowed green and vanished. Solana contacted the ranger base and told them that the mission was complete. She even thanked the gang for their help. "It was an honor to help a pokemon ranger for once" said Ash.
Now that the vines were all gone, the gang could now take the bike bridge for Fuchsia City.
The gang was getting near to Fuchsia City, but they stopped at a pokemon center for a bit. Ash wanted to heal his new pokemon Tyranitar and Donphan; his Pupitar and Phanpy evolved yesterday. Just then an urgent news flash appeared on the TV, and it wasn't good. It said that the pokemon reserve had been attacked with some pokemon injured and Ranger Jenny was hurt too. When the gang heard that, Tomo was horrified. "Ash we need to get there right away!" he said to Ash, panicky. Tomo may not have lived in the pokemon reserve anymore, but he still didn't like it whenever the reserve was in danger. "Calm down Tomo" said Ash, holding him and stroking his head. "I hate to think what kind of person attacked the pokemon reserve" said Brock. "I wouldn't be surprised if Team Rocket was behind this," said Max "after all they are the type of people who would do this". "Well whoever is doing this, we must stop them at once" said Ash. "But it could be dangerous" said May. "Dangerous or not, we have to go," said Tomo "I'm not letting the criminals get away with this". "Neither am I, we have to go" said Ash. Brock, Tomo and Max agreed. May was hesitant, but she agreed to go too. She asked Nurse Joy to hold onto her Eevee egg till they returned; she didn't want to take her egg to a dangerous place. Ash sent out his Pidgeot and Charizard and told them they needed a ride to the pokemon reserve. Brock, May and Max got onto Charizard and Ash and Tomo got onto Pidgeot and they flew off for the pokemon reserve.
At the pokemon reserve Ranger Jenny was being looked after by a Nurse Joy and an Officer Jenny was asking her questions. "Is she all right Nurse Joy?" asked Officer Jenny. "She has a broken arm and I had to bandage her head, but nothing fatal" said Nurse Joy. "Can you tell me what happened?" Officer Jenny asked Ranger Jenny. Ranger Jenny explained that she was patrolling the area in her jeep, but then she heard a blasting noise. She went to check the area where she heard it, but then a blast hit her jeep and she got flown out of her jeep. "Did you see who did it?" asked Officer Jenny.
Ranger Jenny was about to answer the question when they heard a shout; "Ranger Jenny!" It was Tomo and he ran over to Ranger Jenny to see if she was all right. "Tomo!" said Ranger Jenny, in surprise, "what are you doing here?" The gang ran up. "We saw the news at the pokemon center, and Tomo wanted to come here right away" explained Ash. "You kids shouldn't have come here," said Officer Jenny "but I've heard about you from Ranger Jenny, so I'll let you off the hook this time". Ranger Jenny explained that after she was flown out of her jeep she managed to see two figures before she passed out from her injury. "There was a man and a woman. The woman had long golden hair and the man had short green hair and they both wore Team Rocket uniforms". "It must be Cassidy and Butch" said Ash, who remembered what they looked like. "I've heard of those two," said Officer Jenny "and if they are the ones behind this then we all better be on guard".
Ash's thought on Cassidy and Butch was right; they were in the pokemon reserve and they were trapping pokemon in cages. "It was a great idea to come to the pokemon reserve Cass" said Butch. "Well since this reserve is home to many pokemon, we can't leave out this opportunity Butch" said Cassidy. "Absolutely," said Butch "especially since the rare pokemon Kangaskhan live here". "Those Kangaskhan will give us a real promotion from Giovanni," said Cassidy "and we certainly can rub in the faces of those morons Jessie and James with this". "Yeah it will be funny to see them shocked of our capture" said Butch.
Unfortunately for Cassidy and Butch, Jessie and James and Meowth were spying on them and listening to their conversation. "So they want to rub into our faces after they capturing Kangaskhan do they?" said Jessie, coldly, "well if they think they are going to do that, I won't let them". "Me neither and that's why we are going to take them down" said James. "What are we going to do?" asked Meowth. "In this situation we shall sell Cassidy and Butch to the police," said James "and I know exactly how without going to the police in person". He took out his Jumpluff from the pokeball, and then he gave it a note. "Take that to the Ranger Jenny okay?" he said to Jumpluff. Jumpluff flew away to find Ranger Jenny. "I can't wait to see those two get arrested" Meowth sniggered. "Me neither" said Jessie. "Let's sit back and watch" said James.
At that time Officer Jenny was trying to figure out what to do. "I bet that Cassidy and Butch will be heading for the Kangaskhan since they are rare pokemon" said Ash. "I agree with Ash on this," said Ranger Jenny "we should head over to where the Kangaskhan are". Just then James's Hoppip appeared to Ranger Jenny and gave her the note, and then flew away again. The note said 'Team Rocker members heading for the herd of Kangaskhan'. "That's weird," said May "I wonder who sent us the Jumpluff with the note?" "I don't know," said Brock "but at least it's telling us that Team Rocket is heading for the Kangaskhan herd". "We better head over there now" said Tomo. Officer Jenny told Ranger Jenny to stay with Nurse Joy and she told the gang to come with her. "Since you know about the pokemon reserve Tomo, I need you to guide me to where the Kangaskhan are" she said. "I'm on it," said Tomo "but first". He took out three pokeballs and sent out Elekid, Magby and Smoochum. "I need your help as well as your help Growlithe" he said to his four pokemon. Then everyone set off to stop Cassidy and Butch from taking the Kangaskhan herd.
At that time Cassidy and Butch had found the Kangaskhan herd, and Butch had a bazooka ready to fire. "Fire in the field Butch" said Cassidy. "Got it" said Butch. Butch fired the bazooka and out came a big net that covered up all of the Kangaskhan. "Bulls eye!" cheered Butch. "Excellent aim Butch," said Cassidy "now to capture them". She took out four empty pokeballs and threw them all at the Kangaskhan.
But then the pokeballs got stopped by a thunder bolt attack; the thunder bolt attack was from Elekid. "You're not capturing any Kangaskhan here Team Rocket!" shouted Tomo. "It's those brats again" said Cassidy, staring Ash, Tomo and Brock. "I call this a great opportunity to pay them back for humiliating us at Johto" said Butch. Cassidy agreed and she sent out a Raticate, Houndour, Sableye, Tentacruel and Granbull to battle. Butch sent out a Primeape, Hitmontop, Mightyena, Cloyster and Shuckle to battle. Tomo told his Magby, Elekid, Smoochum and Growlithe to ready. Pikachu jumped forward to help and Ash sent out Donphan, Tyranitar and Grovyle to help too.
There was a now battle going on between Ash and Tomo against Cassidy and Butch. Normal, fire, ghost, dark, water, fighting, rock, electric, ice, ground and grass type moves were thrown at each pokemon. Cassidy's and Butch's pokemon were stronger than they were the last time the gang battled them, but Ash's and Tomo's pokemon weren't giving up because they were strong too. 'If Team Rocket thinks they are going to ruin the pokemon reserve that was my home,' thought Tomo 'they're not because I won't let them'. "Growlithe, Elekid, Magby and Smoochum, let's stop Cassidy and Butch now!" he shouted. His four pokemon yelled out in agreement.
Suddenly Elekid, Magby and Smoochum started to glow, and they evolved into Electabuzz, Magmar and Jynx. Tomo was happy to have an Electabuzz, Magmar and Jynx at last. With their new power and strength, Electabuzz, Magmar and Jynx took our Cassidy's Tentacruel, Butch's Hitmontop and Butch's Shuckle and Ash's pokemon defeated the rest. "Quick let's make our get away" Cassidy said to Butch. "Let's" said Butch. He told some smoke bombs towards the gang and Officer Jenny and the gang couldn't see through the smoke. When the smoke cleared, Cassidy, Butch and all of their pokemon were gone. But the good news was they didn't take any of the Kangaskhan with them. Ash had Grovyle cut the net at once and the Kangaskhan were free again. "I'm going to call the Ranger Union to ask them to send for a pokemon ranger to look after the pokemon reserve while Ranger Jenny is recovering from her injury" said Officer Jenny. There was no way that Ranger Jenny could protect the pokemon reserve with a broken arm and they couldn't leave the pokemon reserve without a protector.
At that time Jessie, James and Meowth were laughing at Cassidy and Butch's defeat. "Those two always say that nothing gets in their way" chuckled James. "Yet they were defeated by the twerps" laughed Jessie. "It feels nice seeing Cassidy and Butch get defeated" agreed Meowth. They left the pokemon reserve, happy to have given their rivals a taste of their own medicine.
So with the pokemon reserve now safe, the gang decided to head back to the pokemon center they were at and pick up May's egg. Ranger Jenny and Officer Jenny thanked the gang for their help and Tomo was happy with his new Electabuzz, Magmar and Jynx, as well as happy with the pokemon reserve safe again.
I did say that Ash would meet old friends from the places he visited before in Kanto, which is why I made the gang meet Erika in Celadon City. Erika having all the Johto grass type pokemon, except Celebi of course, is a little based of pokemon heart gold and Silver since in the games Erika has Jumpluff and Bellosom. Since Gloom was Erika's favorite; I know that there's no way Erika would ever evolve her Gloom in the anime. I still hate the fact with the episodes never having Ash talking about his experience in the past with legendary pokemon; they should have had him talk about the Celebi and what it did before in the Celebi episode with Solana. I know Phanpy evolved to Donphan before the Celebi episode, but I decided to change it a bit for my back to the pokemon reserve chapter. There was no way I would leave a chance of Tomo visiting his old home again. I don't understand why Cassidy and Butch were only shown in the chronicles during the Advance Generation arc.
