Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 94
The Dark Contest,
Max's find
And The Neon Contest
Today the gang had come to where the next pokemon contest was. To Ash's surprise it was in Dark City. "It's amazing that Dark City has a pokemon contest hall," he said "I mean the last time we were here the people didn't want to involve anything with pokemon". "Yes, but that incident has been over for the past few years now so the people must have gotten over it by now" said Brock. "What incident?" ask May. Ash, Tomo and Brock told May and Max about the battle between the wannabe gym leaders Kaz and Yas and how they caused a lot of trouble in Dark City. "Wait so this Yas and Kaz had a war with each other in this city, just because one of them wanted to be a gym leader in this town?" asked Max. "That's right," said Brock "and because of that the people in this city became scared of pokemon trainers". "But thanks to us and Nurse Joy of this city we were able to stop them, and now Dark City is a peaceful place again" said Tomo. "And Yas and Kaz rebuilt all of the damage they did and stopped their quarreling" finished Ash. May and Max were amazed by this.
Suddenly the kids, who Ash, Brock and Tomo met before, ran up to the gang. "Hey Ash, Brock and Tomo" said one of them. "Hey kids," said Ash "how have you all been?" The kids explained that they had just become pokemon trainers and they had a starter pokemon. One of them had a Bulbasaur, the second a Charmander and the third a Squirtle. "Wow so you kids are trainers now," said Brock "and I'm glad to see this city is still at peace". The boys explained that Yas and Kaz abandoned their plans of becoming gym leaders and they decided to become builders with their pokemon after they repaired Dark City. "Well since they did a good job of rebuilding Dark City, I think that job suits them well rather than gym leader jobs" said Brock.
The kids led the gang to the pokemon contest hall. The hall was just outside the city and the building was made out of wood like the other buildings in the city. "When did they build the contest hall here?" asked Brock. "About a year ago," said the kids "at first we weren't sure about having a pokemon contest hall built here because of what happened with Yas and Kaz". "But after we learned what pokemon contests were, we agreed because they were nothing like pokemon gyms at all" said another kid. "It's true, they aren't like pokemon gyms at all," said Ash "and this is something that Yas and Kaz wouldn't fight over". "Absolutely" agreed Brock.
Ash and May signed up at once to enter the pokemon contest, but they weren't the only ones. Harley was there. When he saw the gang he tried to do his usual fake welcoming, but the gang ignored him. Harley was thinking in his mind that today's contest will be the great chance to defeat both May and Ash. He still had the desire to defeat them. It was clear to Ash and May that they would have to face Harley again, but they weren't going to let him win that easily.
Soon it was time for the pokemon contest. Lilian did the usual introductions and showed off the Dark Ribbon. The ribbon was brown with a liter brown outline, and it was a bow ribbon like you see on presents. The kids were sitting in the audience seat with Brock, Tomo and Max. "Have you kids been watching the contests ever since this hall was built?" asked Brock. "Yes we love watching them" said one of the kids. "We especially love to see the cool tricks the pokemon do" said another kid. It made Brock happy to know that the people in Dark City liked pokemon and pokemon trainers now.
The appeal rounds were on the way and Ash was up first. He called out Golduck and told him to use bubble beam. After Golduck blew bubbles he burst them with mega punch and then fired a hydro pump into the air. So Ash was mostly showing off Golduck's water attacks and punches. Next was May's turn and she used her Combusken for the appeal rounds using fire spin and sky uppercut. Later it was Harley's turn and he used his Banette, doing the usual scary will o wisp and scary face combination thing. After the appeal rounds were finished the board showed four trainers who made it to the battle rounds and Ash, May and Harley were three of them. The kids were enjoying themselves of watching the contest; this was better than when they saw Yas and Kaz fighting each other a couple of years ago.
When the battle rounds started, Ash had to face Harley first. Harley saw this as a good chance for him to beat Ash. He also had a new pokemon, an Octillery. Ash's choice for the battle rounds was his Venomoth. Harley, being cocky and all, was convinced that his Octillery will triumph over Ash's bug pokemon especially since his Octillery knew fire blast. But Ash's Venomoth knew protect and she didn't get hit by the fire blast. Venomoth had another surprise for Harley's Octillery; she knew the grass move energy ball. Thanks to the move energy ball, Harley's Octillery got defeated. So Harley suffered another defeat from Ash, which of course made Harley mad and he left the contest hall in a huff.
After Ash's win May was battling her opponent with her Butterfree. May's Butterfree had been training under Ash's Butterfree and learnt a lot of experience. After doing psybeam on the opponents Poliwhirl May won the battle and had to face Ash in the last round. To Max this reminded him of when Chaz and Janet in Hoenn faced each other with their Venomoth and Beautifly, but of course with May using Butterfree. Brock and Tomo remembered that too. May's Butterfree put up a good fight against Venomoth with the moves gust psybeam and silver wind. But Ash's Venomoth proved to be stronger with the moves air cutter, sludge bomb and psybeam and Butterfree got defeated. So Ash was the winner of the Dark City contest and won the Dark Ribbon, making this his fourth ribbon.
After the contest was over, the gang had dinner at the restaurant they visited before and the restaurant owner was happy to see Ash, Brock and Tomo again. The kids kept on saying to Ash and May that their pokemon were awesome and congratulated Ash on his win. So today proved to the gang that Dark City was not a gang fighting place anymore, and the people of the city accepted pokemon trainers and pokemon again.
Five days after the Dark City contest, the gang came to a place where Ash, Brock and Tomo had visited before. It was Neon Town and a pokemon contest was being held there. May was fascinated by the city with all the stores and things. Ash and Brock were worried about having to run into any cranky people; they remembered that everyone in Neon Town was always cranky due to lack of sleep. But once the gang started walking through the city, they saw no people fighting and shouting at each other. Everyone looked refreshed and friendly. This made Ash, Tomo and Brock surprised.
Just then Officer Jenny walked up to the gang. "Hello Ash, Brock and Tomo it's nice to see you again" she said. This was the same Officer Jenny that the boys met before with Misty. "You two Officer Jenny," said Ash "but no one seems to arguing with each other like the last time we were here". "It's because of you and your Wigglytuff and Clefable Ash," said Officer Jenny "on that day when they used their lullaby to put people to sleep and make them feel better, we decided that we should have pokemon, that know the move sing, sing us to sleep every evening and morning. That way the people of Neon Town who work during the day would get a good night's sleep and those who work at night would get a good day's sleep". "That's a great idea," said Brock "it certainly prevents the people here from arguing with each other and getting very cranky". "What pokemon do you use?" ask Tomo. "We use Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Chansey and Blissey, and they take turns every night and day" said Officer Jenny. "That's a really clever way to do it" said Brock.
Ash asked Officer Jenny the way to the pokemon contest hall and she led the way. The contest hall was beautiful looking like the other big buildings in Neon Town. Ash and May signed up at once, but the contest wasn't until tomorrow. So the gang decided to spend the day in Neon Town checking it out. May went off by herself to check out all the shops and Brock went off to stock up on supplies and food. Ash, Max and Tomo decided to check out an arcade; not the adult casinos, the arcades for kids.
Just as they were about to enter an arcade, Max told them to stop. "What's wrong Max?" asked Ash. "I just heard a sort of meowing coming from down that alleyway" said Max. "Maybe it's a Meowth" said Tomo. "I'm going to check it out" said Max, and he ran down the alleyway. Ash and Tomo followed Max in case he would run into any trouble.
Max followed the sound of the meowing until he finally found where the meowing came from. He saw three baby Skittys and they were huddled up together and frightened. "Hey what's wrong?" asked Max. Suddenly he heard a barking noise not far from where he was standing. He saw a wild Houndour and it was fighting a Delcatty. "That Delcatty must be the Skittys mum". Just then he noticed that Delcatty was hurt and decided to help by calling out a pokemon. "Whismur come out and use hyper voice on that Houndour". Max's Whismur came out of the pokeball and used hyper voice on the Houndour. The Houndour got cross after being hit by the hyper voice and got ready to fight Whismur. Ash and Tomo caught up to Max and saw the situation. "Ash, Tomo get Delcatty and her three baby Skittys out of here while I deal with this Houndour" said Max. Doing as they were told, Ash and Tomo picked up Delcatty and the Skittys and left for the pokemon center, leaving Max to deal with Houndour. "Whismur let's teach this bully a lesson" said Max. Whismur was more than willing to.
Suddenly Whismur glowed and evolved into Loudred. "Wow now I have two Loudred!" gasped Max. Max focused back on the battle and told Loudred to use brick break on Houndour. Loudred karate chopped Houndour good and then Houndour ran away in fear. "Great work Loudred, ow let's see if Delcatty and her Skittys are okay".
Max and Delcatty ran to the pokemon center, where May, Ash, Tomo and Brock were waiting for them. Ash and Tomo had given Delcatty and Skittys to Nurse Joy and Nurse Joy was taking care of them. Brock and May had heard about what had happened from Ash and Tomo. "Max thank goodness you are okay" said May. Just then she saw Loudred, and Max explained about his Whismur evolving. "How are Delcatty and her babies doing?" asked Max. "They'll be all right now Max," said Ash "thanks to you they are safe".
At that moment Nurse Joy came out of the operating room, and Max asked her at once how the pokemon were doing. "Delcatty needs some rest after that battle with the Houndour," said Nurse Joy "but the Skittys are all fine". Ash and Tomo had told her what happened when they brought the Delcatty and Skittys to her. Max was relieved to hear that and asked Nurse Joy if he could see them. Before Nurse Joy could answer though, the three baby Skittys came out of the room. "Skittys?" said Max. The Skittys saw Max, ran over to him and nuzzled him round the legs like crazy. Max got onto the floor and hugged the Skittys. Nurse Joy smiled. "It seems the Skittys are happy to see you Max" she said. At that moment Delcatty came in and saw her babies with Max. She meowed and the Skittys went over to her. Delcatty nuzzled them and then bowed her head at Max. "She's thanking you for helping her when that Houndour attacked her Max" said Ash. The Skittys ran over to Max and nuzzled him again. Delcatty went over too and sat in front of Max. "You know Max," said Nurse Joy "you should keep Delcatty and her Skittys. It's clear that the Skittys like you and them and Delcatty will feel safe with you". The others agreed.
So Max caught Delcatty and her Skittys and sent them to Norman's Gym where they can recover more. After that was over, the gang could look forward to the pokemon contest tomorrow.
Next day it was the day of the Neon Town contest. "I feel this one is going to be great," said May "I mean the contest hall is very fancy and fancy places like this makes me feel lucky as well as happy". "I wouldn't count on luck if I were you May" said a voice. It was Drew. "Hi Drew," said Ash "entering this contest too?" "Of course," said Drew "and here I'll be earning my fourth ribbon". "Well this will be my fifth ribbon" said Ash, showing Drew his four ribbons. "Impressive," said Drew "what about you May?" May didn't want to admit it, but she did admit that she only had two. "Well you better catch up or you won't enter the grand festival" teased Drew. May ignored him. "Well Ash I hope to have a chance you face you, we haven't faced each since that contest in Rubello Town" said Drew. It was true; Ash and Drew hadn't faced each other for a long time. "I'm looking forward to it Drew" replied Ash.
Soon it was time for the pokemon contest. Lilian did the usual introductions and showed off the Neon ribbon. The Neon ribbon was the same bow design as Ash's Dark ribbon and it was golden yellow, with a light yellow outline. Brock, Max and Tomo were in the seats, waiting for things to start. "I can't wait to see Drew perform," said Max "I mean we haven't seen him perform ever since the Hoenn Grand Festival". "Well I'm sure that Drew has grown ever since then," said Brock "and if he has then Ash and May will have quite the challenge on their hands".
The performance round was now up and Ash was first this time. The moment he sent out his pokemon, Clefable, the crowd started to cheer. "Are they cheering for Ash for Clefable?" asked Max. "I'd say it was Clefable," answered Brock "remember Officer Jenny told us that Clefable and other pokemon that know sing have helped the people here a lot with sleep". Ash started by telling Clefable to use swift while jumping. Clefable jumped, doing her spinning dance, and let of stars while dancing. "Wow Clefable is like a magical fairy in the night sky" said Nurse Joy. "Remarkable" said Mr Suziko. To finish the performance off Clefable used meteor mash to break the stars to bits and then she bowed. The audience loved and clapped hard for Clefable. The next performance was May's and she used her Squirtle for the appeals. They started off with aqua tail, showing off Squirtle's watery tail. And then Squirtle quickly used ice beam, while the watery whirlpool from his tail was still there. It created an icy whirlpool and Squirtle posed to finish. After a few more performances, it was Drew's turn and he was using Roselia. "Why am I not surprised that Drew is using his Roselia?" said Max. "That will be because Roselia is Drew's main pokemon" said Brock. Roselia did the usual showing off its petal dance routine and something else. "From the look of Roselia, I'd say that Drew has improved his skill as a coordinator more than when we last saw him" said Brock. "Well he did say after the Hoenn Grand Festival that she was going to work harder than ever" agreed Max.
After the appeal round was over, eight trainers got into the battle round and Drew, Ash and May were three of them. "I wonder who will be facing Drew first?" said Tomo. Tomo's answer soon came; Drew battled an opponent named Ethan in the first round, and Drew had a new pokemon an Absol. Absol defeated Ethan's Charmeleon with water pulse. But he had to battle May in the second round. "Oh-oh," said Tomo "I hope that May will be all right with this battle against Drew". Brock looked thoughtful, thinking that May probably would have trouble trying to defeat Drew since she has never beaten him in a battle. May defeated her opponent's Mankey with her Combusken.
Now it was time for May and Drew to fight. May started off by telling her Combusken to use flamethrower, but Drew's Absol dodged it. Drew ordered Absol to use razor wind and poor Combusken got hit by it. "Use sky uppercut Combusken" said May. Combusken managed to hit Absol back with sky uppercut. May went with all Combusken had to defeat Drew with flamethrower, sky upper cut and slash, but Drew and his Absol were letting May win that easily. Apart from having great speed, Absol's attacks of razor wind, water pulse and iron tail were strong too. Soon the time was up, and Drew had more points than May so he was the winner. To May it seemed that she had some more work to do with her pokemon if she ever wanted to beat Drew.
As for Ash, he was using his Wigglytuff to battle and he defeated his first and second opponent. Like Clefairy, Wigglytuff got cheers from the crowd. Now it was his turn to fight Drew. "I don't think that Wigglytuff will stand a chance against Absol, being a normal type and all" said Max. "Ho-ho don't underestimate Wigglytuff yet," said Tomo "she isn't as weak as you think she is". Max was confused with what Tomo said.
Drew started off with telling his Absol to use razor wind. Ash told Wigglytuff to use bounce, and Wigglytuff jumped to avoid the razor wind and then she kicked Absol. "Use focus punch Wigglytuff" said Ash. Wigglytuff gave Absol a good punch. "Wow that Wigglytuff is good," said Max "I will never underestimate a Wigglytuff again". Drew was impressed with Wigglytuff himself. Absol and Wigglytuff put up a good fight with each other with their attacks. Absol used razor wind, iron tail and dark pulse, while Wigglytuff used gyro ball, ice beam and hyper voice. Then, at last, Wigglytuff used one more focus punch and then Absol fell in defeat, making Ash the winner of the contest.
So Ash was rewarded the Neon ribbon; as this was his fifth ribbon he could enter the Kanto Grand Festival. "I can't wait to see your performance at the grand festival" said Mr Contesta. Drew congratulated Ash, but warned him that he would train harder to beat him next time. May knew that she had a lot of catching up since she still only had two ribbons and Ash had all five now. After the contest was over, the gang stayed overnight in Neon Town and then left the next day to continue their journey.
Sorry for the wait. I'm sorry if you readers thought I rushed a bit with Ash earning two ribbons in one chapter. But the places where May won her three remaining kanto ribbons were somewhere a bit far away from Fuchsia City and so was Wisteria Town. So I had to do these two contests before the gang went far from Fuchsia City. It never says what happened to Yas and Kaz in the anime after the war, so I made it up myself making them builders since they did do well of repairing the city in the anime.
