Ash's Pokemon Journey

Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.

Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.

Chapter 96

Chrysanthemum Contest,

The Battle Palace and

Ash has a thought

After leaving Camomile Island the gang had made it to Chrysanthemum Island thanks to the ferry. Ash had just finished a phone call with Prof Oak; he wanted to know how his Tropius was doing. Ash explained to the others that Tropius was recovering nicely, but the cut he had on the neck has left a scar. "It's that Clayton's fault that Tropius has become scarred for life" said Max. "Who's become scarred for life?" asked a voice.

The voice belonged to Drew. "Drew" said May, in surprise. Ash explained to Drew all about the pokemon hunter Clayton and about his Tropius and the injuries. "The things people do these days," said Drew "it's a good thing you found it before it could get worse Ash". "So Drew, are you here to win your next ribbon?" asked Ash. "No I'm here to watch," said Drew "and anyway I only need one more ribbon to get". He turned to May. "You still have a lot of catching up to do May". May blushed furiously; she didn't like being reminded that she still hasn't earned five ribbons yet.

Suddenly a brown-red haired girl, with blue eyes, walked up to the gang. "Are you May?" the girl asked May. "Yes I am, but who are you?" answered May. "I'm Brianna and I'm looking forward to entering the pokemon contest with you" said Brianna. May was surprised to hear that. Brianna turned to Drew and told him that she thinks he's a great coordinator. Drew simply thanked Brianna and walked off. As soon as Drew walked off, Brianna asked May how she felt about Drew. The truth is Brianna admired Drew, and she was a bit jealous of May because she knew that May was Drew's main rival and that Drew always noticed her. "In today's contest, I will make Drew notice me as a coordinator" said Brianna. May was surprised with Brianna's attitude and this made her understand that she had another rival to deal with today.

Soon it was time for the Chrysanthemum contest. Lilian did the usual introductions and showed off the Chrysanthemum ribbon, which was aqua green with a white outline and was the same shape as the Hoenn ribbons. The preliminary round soon started and May was up. This time she was using Munchlax for the appeal round and they started off with solar beam. As it was a very bright sunny day, Munchlax didn't need to charge up to do solar beam. May then ordered Munchlax to do roll out, and Munchlax was rolling across the stage fast. To finish it off Munchlax jumped into the air and performed a focus punch on the ground. Drew admitted that May's Munchlax wasn't bad. Next up was Brianna and she was using a Surskit. Surskit used ice beam on the stage to create an ice rink, and then Surskit danced on the ice like a figure skater.

After the preliminary round was finished the results were eight coordinators passed the round and May and Brianna were two of them. Right now they had to wait for the battle round to begin. "This is the perfect chance for me to show Drew how much I've trained ever since our encounter in Neon Town" said May. "Hey May, is that how you really feel about Drew?" asked Brianna "I mean do you have any feelings towards him?" May blushed at those questions. "I see him as a rival that's all" she said. "So you aren't in love with him?" asked Brianna "then I will take this chance to tell him that I love him when the contest is over". May looked at Brianna is disbelieve.

In the battle round May and Brianna defeated their opponents one by one. May was using Combusken and Brianna was using a Vibrava. Finally it was the finals and May and Brianna were facing each other. "May better watch herself against Brianna's Vibrava because Combusken has a disadvantage of it" said Ash. Ash would know that because of his Flygon. The battle was now starting and May ordered her Combusken to use quick attack. "Use supersonic Vibrava" said Brianna. The noise from the supersonic stopped Combusken in its tracks, but luckily it didn't confuse Combusken. "Fire spin Combusken" said May. Combusken fired fire spin at Vibrava and Vibrava got hit by it. Thanks to the bright sun, Combusken's fire attacks were powered up. Brianna fought back by telling her Vibrava to use dragon breath, and then sand tomb. After using dragon breath Vibrava trapped Combusken with sand tomb. Poor Combusken couldn't move at all. "Come on Combusken," said May "you can get out of there I know you can". Suddenly Combusken's three feathers and the sand glowed light blue and Combusken got out of the sand. "That was mega kick," said Ash "I recognize that move anywhere". So Combusken had learnt mega kick. Although by now May was losing points fast and time was running out. Brianna told her Vibrava to use sand tomb again, but before the sand could trap Combusken again May ordered Combusken to use mega kick. Combusken kicked through the sand tomb and kicked Vibrava hard. Vibrava was defeated by that move and Combusken was the winner of the pokemon contest.

So May won the ribbon and she was happy to have finally earned her third ribbon. After the contest was over Brianna admitted that she had fun competing against May. The gang congratulated May on her win, and even Drew admitted that both May and Brianna did well. But Drew still teased May for still having two more ribbons to get. May furiously said to Drew that she will get them. Drew then said good luck and left, leaving May with a blush on her face. The truth is May did like Drew a little bit, but because of his teasing she wouldn't admit it.

So with May having won the Chrysanthemum ribbon, the gang could now continue their journey.

After leaving Chrysanthemum Island, the gang arrived at another island called Metallica Island. This was where Ash could battle the next battle facility. While they rested at the pokemon center they met up with Scott again. Scott explained that the battle facility was called the Battle Palace and the frontier brain was a man they called Palace Maven Spenser. "Even though he is an old man Ash, you better not underestimate him". "I understand Scott" said Ash. Ash had battled old people in pokemon battles before and they were no pushovers.

Scott led the gang to what looked like an old jungle ruin temple; this was the Battle Palace. Standing at the facility was an old man that looked like a temple monk; this man was Spenser, the frontier brain and the Palace Maven. Ash introduced himself to Spenser and asked him for a battle. Spenser accepted the battle and wished to battle outside in the jungle. The Battle Palace had two battle fields; one in the facility and one outside in the jungle. Spenser was a man who lived with nature. Ash agreed with having to battle outside because it sounded more fun. While Ash and Spenser took their place on the battle field, which was on a flat rocky peak, Scott and the others were in a hot air balloon. Spenser had a floating robot named Jamero and it was a camera and the gym battle judge. The balloon had a laptop that Scott and the others could watch the battle while Jamero recorded it.

The battle soon started and Spenser sent out his first pokemon, a Shiftry. Ash sent out his Rapidash to battle first. "That's a good choice of Ash's," said Max "after all fire beats grass". Ash started off by telling his Rapidash to use flamethrower, but Shiftry dodged it and ran into the jungle. Rapidash chased after Shiftry, with Ash and Spenser following them. "Attack with mega horn Rapidash" said Ash. "Use quick attack Shiftry" said Spenser. Shiftry and Rapidash charged at each other with quick attack and mega horn. It was even, and then the two pokemon continued to run. "Your Rapidash has a real spirit within" Spenser said to Ash. "So does your Shiftry" replied Ash. They had now come to a clearing. Spenser ordered his Shiftry to use shadow ball. Ash ordered Rapidash to dodge it with bounce. Rapidash dodged the shadow ball just in time and then kicked Shiftry hard with her front hooves. "Now Rapidash use fire blast" said Ash. Shiftry didn't have the chance to dodge the fire blast attack, and got burned by the flames and fainted in defeat. "Wow that was some fire blast" said May. Scott was impressed too.

Spenser returned Shiftry and sent his next pokemon, a Venasaur. Ash asked Rapidash if she could continue and she said she could. "Since Venasaur is also a grass type, it will get defeated by Rapidash's fire attacks like Shiftry did" said Max. "Normally that would be the case," said Scott "but don't count Spenser's Venasaur out yet". Ash ordered Rapidash to use flamethrower, and Spenser ordered his Venasaur to use solar beam. Thanks to today's weather being a bright sunny day, Venasaur didn't need to store energy first. The solar beam shot through Rapidash's flamethrower attack and hit Rapidash. "You okay Rapidash?" asked Ash. Rapidash did get a good hit from that solar beam, but she was still okay to continue. "Woah that solar beam was amazing" said Max. "Yeah, despite the fact that grass moves wouldn't work well on fire type pokemon much" said Brock. "Venusaur is Spenser's main pokemon, and those two have trained together for a very long time" said Scott. Spenser ordered his Venasaur to use sludge bomb, and Rapidash got hit by the attack before she could do anything. The damage from sludge bomb was too much for Rapidash after the solar beam and she fainted in defeat. "Wow Spenser's Venusaur is powerful," said Brock "to be honest its way stronger than Ash's Venusaur is". "I wonder what Ash will do now?" said May.

Ash returned his Rapidash and sent out his next pokemon, Nidoking. Ash ordered Nidoking to move in with peck. Spenser told his Venusaur to use vine whip, but Nidoking was quicker and jabbed Venusaur multiple times with his horn. "Haa, even though poison type moves won't work on Venusaur, Nidoking's flying type move peck will" said Tomo. "You're right" agreed Brock. Spenser ordered his Venusaur to use tackle and Venusaur and Nidoking tackled each other. "Use fire blast Nidoking" said Ash. Nidoking blew fire blast from his mouth and Venusaur was hit by it. Nidoking's fire blast attack was strong thanks to sun and Venusaur couldn't take anymore and fainted. "That's two wins," said Max "and only one more to do". "Yes but Spenser's last pokemon makes Venusaur look tamed" said Scott, who seemed to know what pokemon Spenser was going to use now.

Spenser returned Venusaur and sent out his last pokemon, a Claydol. As Claydol was part psychic as well as ground, Ash knew this would be trouble for his Nidoking. "Let's make this quick Nidoking use blizzard" said Ash. Nidoking blew a blizzard attack towards Claydol, but Claydol teleported to dodge the attack and then went further into the jungle. Nidoking chased Claydol, with Ash and Spenser following them. "I wonder where Claydol is heading too?" said May. May's answer soon came; Claydol lead everyone to the ocean. This meant that Claydol would be using the sand to its advantage. Ash ordered his Nidoking to use hyper beam and Spenser ordered his Claydol to use do the same. Claydol's hyper beam proved to be stronger than Nidoking's hyper beam, and it over powered Nidoking's and struck Nidoking. Nidoking was hurt. Spenser ordered Claydol to use psybeam next. Nidoking had no chance to dodge the attack and was hit. That psychic move was too much for Nidoking and Nidoking was defeated. "Whoa that Claydol is tough" said May. "That Claydol is Spenser's strongest pokemon" said Scott. "I wouldn't worry about it though," said Tomo "because Ash's final pokemon will deal with Claydol".

Ash's final pokemon turned out to be his Celebi. Scott and Spenser were surprised to see a Celebi. Tomo explained to the others that Celebi wanted to have a go at battling in the Battle Frontier and Ash agreed to let her battle in the Battle Palace. Max had the feeling that Claydol would probably not stand a chance against Celebi, a legendary pokemon. Spenser ordered Claydol to use psybeam, but Celebi dodged the psybeam attack and used silver wind. "This is my first time of ever seeing a Celebi as well as seeing one battle" said Scott. "Celebi may look harmless and cute," said Brock "but a Celebi knows how to fight back when it's threatened. We know because we saw it before". "Brock's right, we did" said Tomo. At that moment it started to rain. "Haa that rain will be usual to us," said Ash "Celebi use water pulse". Celebi fired a water pulse attack and Claydol was hit by the water attack. Thanks to the rain, Celebi's water pulse was powered up. "Good thing that Ash had Celebi learn water pulse from the water pokemon back at Prof Oak's lab" said Tomo. He explained that Ash had Celebi learn water pulse in case she had to fight a fire pokemon or any other pokemon that's weak to water. Claydol received a lot of damage from the water pulse attack and couldn't take anymore. It fell on to the sand in defeat.

So Ash was the winner of the Battle Palace challenge. Scott landed the balloon onto the beach, and he and the others congratulated Ash. "Your pokemon really are something Ash" said Scott; he was getting more impressed by every battle Ash does in the Battle Frontier. Scott returned Claydol and spoke to Ash. "You're fighting spirit really showed me that you never give up Ash no matter what difficulty you're in," he said "I will now present to you your proof of your victory at the Battle Palace". The symbol Spenser gave to Ash was called the Spirit symbol and it had a square in the middle, with little rectangles surrounding it. "Now I just need to more symbols to get" said Ash. "Yes but don't forget to must beat the sixth facility to find the seventh one" Scott reminded Ash. "I remember Scott" said Ash.

So with Ash winning the Spirit symbol, Ash looked forward to his next battle.

Sometime after leaving Metallica Island, the gang had come to a city. There weren't in a rush for anything so today was a day for them to relax. May was doing her usual window shopping trip and Brock was doing his usual stocking up supplies trip. As for Max and Tomo, well they were tending to their new pokemon. Not long after Ash won his Spirit symbol, Tomo had captured a Ponyta and Max had captured a Ditto. Ash was having a think; he was thinking about the times when he used his aura power to find people and pokemon and how he used it to know that someone was in disguise and something. He turned to his Pikachu. "Hey Pikachu," he said "do you remember when Sir Aaron's Lucario told me to train my aura before he died?" Pikachu did remember that. "Well I think that when we finish the Battle Frontier, I shall train my aura. I know it will probably stop us from going on another journey for a while, but I don't wish to break my promise to Lucario and not understand about this power of mine". Pikachu agreed to the idea, especially since Ash didn't know how to fully use his aura at all.

Ash decided to phone Prof Oak about his decision and went to a phone in the pokemon center. When Prof Oak picked up his phone at the lab, Ash told him at once that he needed help. "From the sound of your tone, this sounds serious" said Prof Oak. "Professor do you remember when I told you that I found out that I had aura power in Rota?" asked Ash. "Yes I do remember Ash," answered Prof Oak "and I still find it surprising that you're a descendant to the famous hero Sir Aaron, and that you also have the power of aura". "My aura power is what I need help with," said Ash "you see as soon as I finish the Battle Frontier, I wish to train my aura power". Prof Oak was surprised of Ash's decision, but he agreed with it. "As you were born with this power Ash," he said "I too find it important that you train your aura powers just like you've trained your psychic powers. I will see if I can find anyone else who has the power of aura and they can teach you". "Thanks professor" said Ash, and the phone call ended.

And so it was decided that Ash will train his aura power after he finished the Battle Frontier. The others agreed to the idea too when Ash told them of his decision that evening. Since they knew that Ash had the power of aura, they also knew that this power would help Ash in the future. But before Ash could think about the aura training, he had two things to think about first, and that was finishing the Battle Frontier and participating in the Kanto grand festival.

Now for the Sinnoh region, for contests, I wish to have Ash dressed as knights and princes. But I need to have some ideas; if you can send me some drawing ideas as well as written ideas.
