Ash's Pokemon Journey

Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.

Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.

Chapter 121

Meeting Cynthia,

Training day 2

And the electric training camp

Today the gang were watching something very special on TV at a pokemon center. Lucien was battling the Sinnoh champion Cynthia. He was using his Bronzong and Cynthia was using a pokemon called Garchomp. Garchomp was a navy blue, red and yellow dragon and ground type pokemon. Lucien ordered Bronzong to use flash cannon and it hit Garchomp. But Garchomp was fine like the attack did nothing to it at all. It was obvious that Cynthia and her pokemon were very strong; in fact they seemed very impossible to beat. Then Garchomp tackled Bronzong with giga impact and Bronzong fainted at once. The gang didn't take their eyes off the match even for a second.

Suddenly the gang heard some kids in the lobby that Cynthia was at a park called Amity Square. The kids decided to go over to Amity Square and see Cynthia and the gang decided to go too.

Cynthia was standing at some ancient ruins in Amity Square she was a beautiful woman with long blonde hair. The gang was surprised to see Cynthia in person and so were the other kids. Suddenly a familiar face turned up; it was Paul. "Hey Paul," said Ash "surprised to see you here. You here to see Cynthia too?" "If you must know, I'm here to battle her" said Paul. That caught Ash by surprise, and before he could say anything Paul walked up to Cynthia and asked her for a pokemon battle. The kids were surprised that Paul asked the champion for a battle, but they were more surprised that Cynthia agreed to battle Paul. They started saying rude things like Paul didn't stand a chance or Paul was crazy. "You think Paul will be alright Ash?" asked Tomo. "Paul is the type of guy who likes to battle real tough opponents," said Ash "we'll just wait and see what happens". Ash had a feeling though Paul was going to get defeated very quickly.

Paul and Cynthia took their places to get ready to battle and Paul asked for a six on six pokemon battle. Cynthia sent out her Garchomp.

Ash looked at Garchomp on his pokedex: Garchomp, the mach pokemon. It is said that when one runs at high speed, its wings create blades of wind that can fell nearby trees.

Paul sent out his Chimchar to battle first. The kids knew that Garchomp was a dragon and ground type pokemon and that Chimchar, a fire type, didn't stand a chance against it. "What a lame choice" said one. "He has no brains at all" said another. Paul started off by telling Chimchar to use fire spin. While Garchomp was trapped in a fiery cyclone, Chimchar dug underground. Garchomp used dig too and tackled Chimchar out of the ground. Chimchar fainted at once and Paul returned him. "You should be ashamed" he said angrily. Cynthia and Ash frowned at what Paul said. Paul sent out a Weavile to battle next. "That's more like it," said Brock "an ice type like Weavile has the advantage of dragon types". Paul told his Weavile to use blizzard and Garchomp got hit by it. But the attack did nothing to Garchomp at all. "Oh man," said Ash "that Garchomp is even strong to withstand ice type attacks. I think that even Lance and Drake would have trouble defeating it". Brock, Tomo and Dawn agreed with Ash's comment. Garchomp moved next with dragon rush. Paul ordered Weavile to use ice beam, but Garchomp dodged it and tackled Weavile hard. Weavile fainted at once. Paul returned Weavile and sent out a Murkrow next. Ash was seeing more of Paul's pokemon by the time. Paul told Murkrow to use haze and Garchomp was surrounded by the smokescreen. "Now sky attack" Paul commanded to Murkrow. While Murkrow charged with sky attack, Garchomp charged with giga impact. The two pokemon collided with each other and of course Murkrow fainted from the attack.

So now Paul only had three pokemon left and Cynthia still only had one and Garchomp didn't have one scratch. It was then Paul started to smile. "What's Paul smiling about?" asked Dawn. "When trainers smile like that," said Ash "that sometimes means that the trainer is about to call out his best and strongest pokemon. I know because I've seen trainers do that before". Paul's fourth pokemon was a Torterra.

Ash looked at Torterra on the pokedex: Torterra, the continent pokemon. The final evolved form of Turtwig. Small Pokémon occasionally gather on its unmoving back to begin building their nests.

"Oh so that's why he made fun of my Turtwig," said Ash "his Turtwig had evolved to its final form". Paul told Torterra to use giga impact, and Garchomp got hit by it. This was because Garchomp had used giga impact and had to wait next turn to do anything. Paul then told Torterra to use its strongest move frenzy plant. Again Garchomp got hit by it but was not exactly hurt by it. Cynthia ordered Garchomp to use brick break and Torterra got whacked very hard by it. Torterra fainted from that. Ash was very surprised; to him it seemed that Cynthia's Garchomp was impossible to beat.

Seeing his strongest pokemon defeated, Paul returned Torterra and decided not to continue. So Cynthia won by a forfeit and returned Garchomp. It was then the kids started to make rude remarks about Paul, calling him a loser and laughing at him. That made Ash angry. "Shut up all of you!" he shouted. The kids became quiet at once, afraid of Ash's anger. Ash may not have liked Paul, but he hated the kids' insults more. He walked up to Paul and told him it was a great battle. Paul said to Cynthia that he would get stronger the next time he battles her and said good bye. "Wait Paul," said Ash "you need to go to a pokemon center first before you leave". "This boy is right Paul," said Cynthia "taking injured pokemon to a pokemon center is part of a trainer's responsibilities you know". Paul didn't argue and decided to do as he was told.

There was a problem though when Cynthia, Paul and the gang reached the pokemon center. Nurse Joy had to do an emergency surgery on a Furret, so she couldn't take care of Paul's pokemon. So Cynthia decided to treat Paul's pokemon herself; she knew how to care for injured and sick pokemon. Brock offered to help and Cynthia agreed. Soon Paul's Torterra, Weavile, Murkrow and Chimchar were healing up in the pokemon center thanks to Cynthia and Brock.

While the pokemon healed up Ash decided to speak to Cynthia. "Forgive me for my curiosity Cynthia," said Ash "but what other pokemon do you have apart from Garchomp?" Cynthia explained that she owned a Lucario, Glaceon, Roserade, Togekiss and a Gastrodon. Gastrodon was a water and ground type pokemon. "I must say Ash Ketchum, I've heard quite a lot about you," said Cynthia "Lucien told me about you and your friends and I met Lance from Kanto a few months ago and he spoke about you as well". Ash felt flattered.

After speaking to Ash, Cynthia told Paul that his pokemon were healing up nicely. Paul reluctantly thanked Cynthia. "I have to say Paul you're pokemon are very well trained," said Paul "I'm especially impressed with your Torterra". Paul explained that Torterra was his starter pokemon as a Turtwig, and he had travelled through Kanto, Johto and Hoenn, where he caught Weavile and Murkrow, to challenge the pokemon leagues but never won any of them. "How funny," said Ash "I told you about my journeys when we first met, yet you didn't tell me about your journeys". Paul snorted. "There was no need to tell you" he said, rudely. Then Paul said that he caught Chimchar sometime after he came back to Sinnoh. Cynthia pointed out that Paul has done quite a lot with Chimchar. But Paul was still not happy with Chimchar especially it was defeated so easily against Garchomp. "You didn't care about how many of your pokemon took a fall," said Ash, crossly, "just like you don't care about how your pokemon felt going against a strong pokemon like Cynthia's Garchomp. I can tell that you only care about getting a win". "What's your point?" said Paul "a win is a win". "The real win is really when you and your pokemon become as one together in a strong bond," Ash argued back "I know this because I've bonded with all of my 113 pokemon, and despite I never won the Kanto, Johto and Hoenn leagues my pokemon are still my big family". Paul thought that human bonding with pokemon was pathetic and believed no one could ever truly win that way. "A spoiled pokemon will never try hard enough, and Chimchar is the perfect example". Ash was getting angry, but he knew that he wasn't getting anywhere with this argument. 'I'll show him a thing or two at the Sinnoh League,' he thought 'I will prove to him that a bond between trainer and pokemon can overcome anything'.

Just then Cynthia stepped forward and said that she wanted to show something to Paul. Everyone went back to the ancient ruins in Amity Square. There was a big stone slab with a picture of Dialga and Palkia and Unown writing. Cynthia said the slab said; 'Friend when every life meets another life, something will be born'. Then Cynthia explained that when she was younger she used to think of nothing but becoming strong as a pokemon trainer and being victorious in every pokemon battle. So she ended up training her pokemon endlessly. But reading the stone slab's writing made her change her ways. She discovered that the same types of pokemon had their own special unique personalities, and she decided to learn about every pokemon there is in the whole pokemon world. "Meeting new pokemon was just like meeting new people," said Cynthia "and it woke something within my soul. Just like this meeting today will awaken something within all of us and make us stronger". Ash did get what Cynthia meant a bit; he had met many new pokemon and learnt how incredible they all are no matter what they are.

Then Cynthia said that meeting new pokemon made her wish that could meet the legendary pokemon Dialga and Palkia. "Seeing Dialga and Palkia would be great," said Ash "as long they are not fighting with each other that is". The gang explained that they met Dialga and Palkia in Alamos Town. "I heard that a disturbance happened in Alamos Town," said Cynthia "please tell me what happened". The gang explained about the fight between Dialga and Palkia and how it almost destroyed all of Alamos Town. Cynthia and Paul couldn't believe what they just heard. "We don't know why they fought," said Brock "but we do hope they won't be fighting the next time we see them". Cynthia stared seriously after hearing the story.

Later on everyone went back to check on Paul's pokemon back at the pokemon center; they were recovering nicely. But he was still cross with Chimchar and vowed to not go easy with him from now on. Ash was still not happy with how Paul treated Chimchar; it was like picking on the runt of the litter, and Chimchar was the runt in Paul's eyes. Cynthia decided that for the sake of Paul's pokemon, Paul should spend the night at the pokemon center. Paul reluctantly agreed to do so, despite he really wanted to leave onto the next town, but didn't want to argue anymore today.

That evening there was some big news on the TV. In a place called Celestic Town, where ancient ruins were, they had found an item called the lustrous orb. The lustrous orb was an orb that was said to power up the moves of Palkia. The TV also showed the display of the adamant orb in Eterna City. Hearing about the lustrous orb made Cynthia decide to go to Celestic Town to see it. "They better take care over there" said Ash. He reminded the others about the adamant orb nearly getting stolen. "I heard about that," said Cynthia "I'll make sure the lustrous orb stays safe". Cynthia said goodbye to the gang and made her way for Celestic Town, and the gang continued on their journey.

Meeting the Sinnoh champion Cynthia was the luckiest day of the gang's lives.

Today Dawn wanted to do some training with her pokemon, especially with Smoochum and Buizel. But before any training could happen a Glameow and Misdreavus turned up. "Hey that's Zoey's Glameow and Misdreavus" said Ash. Glameow and Misdreavus were worried about something. "If that is Zoey's Glameow and Misdreavus," said Dawn "then Zoey must be nearby". Just then Glameow and Misdreavus took off. "We better follow them" said Ash, and the others agreed.

The gang followed the two pokemon to a big rock, and there was Zoey sitting on the grass holding her right foot in pain. "Zoey, what happened?" asked Dawn. Zoey explained that she was doing some training, but she tripped and hurt her foot. Brock got out his medicine supplies and tended to Zoey's injury at once. Her foot wasn't broken, but it was badly sprained and swollen. Zoey said that her camp was nearby, so the gang helped her back to the camp.

Once they got to the camp Zoey introduced her new pokemon called Shellos. Shellos was a pink, yellow and white pokemon. "I caught it in the same river you caught your Buizel Dawn" said Zoey.

Dawn looked at Shellos on her pokedex: Shellos, the sea slug pokemon. Beware of pushing strongly on its squishy body, as it makes a mysterious purple fluid ooze out.

"Nice pokemon" said Ash. Zoey asked Dawn how was her Buizel. Dawn sent out her Buizel to see Zoey again. Buizel stared at Shellos, but Shellos was scared around strangers. Piplup came in to make Buizel behave, but then the two water pokemon began to argue again. "Stop that right now!" shouted Dawn. Zoey could see that Dawn and Buizel still hadn't fully bonded yet. "You'll never perform a double performance acting like that" said Zoey.

Zoey explained that in the Hearthome contest the coordinators had to perform double performances. This meant they had to perform with two pokemon instead of one. Zoey also explained that they would do this at the Sinnoh Grand Festival too. "Wow," said Ash "we did double battles in the Hoenn and Kanto grand festivals. But we never did double performances. Mind you I did see someone do a double performance once on TV". "Oh so do you know what you have to do Ash?" asked Zoey. "All I know is that double performances are trickier than the normal performances; you have to make both the pokemon and the moves they use are in balance" said Ash. "That's true you do," said Zoey "you also have to be careful with what order the moves come in like one at a time or both together, and you have to think with what pose they will do after performing and with what capsule seals to use". Ash and Dawn could see there was a lot of work in double performances.

Zoey offered to show the gang a double performance and the gang accepted. Zoey used Shellos and Glameow. First Shellos used mud bomb and Glameow hit the balls of mud with shock wave. The electric attack lit up the balls of mud. Then Shellos hit the balls of bud and electricity with hidden power and it created a lot of beautiful sparkles. To pose Shellos landed on top of Glameow's tail. The gang liked it.

Ash decided to have a go at double performing first. He used the pokedex to get his Beautifly and Dustox from Prof Oak and then called them out. "Okay Ash, show me what your Beautifly and Dustox are capable of" said Ash. Ash told Beautifly to use silver wind and Dustox to use ominous wind. It created a small silvery and purple tornado. Then Beautifly used morning sun and Dustox used moonlight which of course made them both glow and to finish off they landed on Ash's hat and shoulder. "How was that Zoey?" asked Ash. "That was good for your first try," said Zoey "Beautifly and Dustox shined beautifully with morning sun and moonlight and their silver wind and ominous wind came out just right". Ash felt pleased with himself. He wasn't going to use Beautifly and Dustox for the Hearthome contest, but at least he now knew what he had to do. All he had to do was figure out which two pokemon to use.

Next it was Dawn's turn, and she decided to use Piplup and Pachirisu. First Pachirisu used sweet kiss, which created a cyclone of hearts. Then Piplup did whirlpool, but the whirlpool was too powerful and covered up all the hearts. Then Dawn told Pachirisu to use discharge on the whirlpool. But this time the discharge ended up shocking Piplup because of the whirlpool. They tried again, but the discharge was so powerful it evaporated the whirlpool into steam. Dawn was getting depressed because none of her plans were working. It was then Ash decided that Dawn and he should have a practice double contest battle. Brock and Zoey thought that was a good idea, especially since it might help Dawn come up with some combinations. So Dawn agreed to have a practice double contest battle.

Ash decided to use Beautifly and Dustox and Dawn decided to use Buneary and Buizel. Ash started off by telling Dustox to use gust and told Beautifly to ride the gust with aerial ace. Thanks to the gust Beautifly picked up some more speed while using aerial ace and both Buizel and Buneary got tackled. "Well Ash has a knack for this" said Zoey. "Ash has been in lots of double battles," said Brock "and don't forget they had double contest battles during the Hoenn and Kanto grand festival". "That's true" said Zoey. Dawn fought back by telling Buizel to use aqua jet and then told Buneary to use ice beam. The ice beam hit Buizel while he was using aqua jet; Dawn's plan was to have Buizel covered in ice armor while he tackled opponents with aqua jet. But Buizel was frozen in the ice and crashed onto the ground. "Oh man we blew it again" said Dawn, unhappily. Zoey reminded Dawn that the battle was still going, and Dawn ordered Buizel to use sonic boom. The sonic boom attack hit Beautifly, but she wasn't hurt badly. "Okay Beautifly and Dustox use string shot" said Ash. Beautifly and Dustox flew around Buizel and Buneary to round them up and then when the two bug pokemon used string shot Buizel and Buneary were tied up together. "Now use tackle" said Ash. Before Dawn could think of trying to do something Beautifly and Dustox tackled Buizel and Buneary together. Buizel and Buneary fainted after that, so Ash won the battle.

Zoey was impressed with how Ash did the battle, and Dawn could see she had a lot of work to do before the Hearthome contest. "So Dawn, what was it you were trying to do with the aqua jet and ice beam?" asked Zoey. Dawn explained that she thought that Buizel would look cool with ice armour surrounding him, but she's not sure if it would work. "But that's a great idea Dawn," said Ash "I have never seen any other coordinator use a move like that" said Ash. The others liked the idea too, but Dawn was still wasn't confident about this.

Later on the gang helped Zoey get to the pokemon center so she could heal her foot. "Well Ash and Dawn, I look forward to seeing you at the Hearthome pokemon contest" said Zoey. "Same here," said Dawn "and I'll be working heard for the contest with my pokemon". So the gang said good bye to Zoey and continued on for Hearthome City.

Together the gang were having a lunch break out in the open. But then a thunderbolt attack came out of nowhere and nearly hit the gang. "What was that?!" gasped Dawn. Before anyone could answer another thunderbolt attack came and it headed towards Ash. Ash quickly did an aura shield and protected himself from the attack. "Wow is that the aura shield you told us about?" Brock asked Ash. Ash said it was. "That was like using the move protect" said Brock. "That's what I said when Riley showed me it" said Ash.

Just then an Electrike was running towards the gang. "Stop Electrike!" shouted a voice. The voice belonged to a young man who was training Electrike. "I'm so sorry," said the man "I hope none of you got hurt". "No we're good thanks" said Ash. The man introduced himself as Jaco and he was training his Electrike, but Electrike had trouble with controlling the electric moves. Jaco explained that he was a pokemon breeder and he really liked working with flying types, but found working with electric types hard. Just then an older man turned up. His name was Cal and he was the owner of a pokemon training center. A pokemon training center was where types of pokemon were looked after and trained by pokemon breeders. Cal owned a training center for electric pokemon. Cal offered to take the gang to his training center and the gang accepted.

When the gang got to the center they saw there was no electric pokemon there. Cal explained that at his training center the electric pokemon train to perfect their electric moves, and then when they graduate they go to the power generating room to make the electricity. So once Jaco's Electrike perfected its moves, it would graduate and go to the power generating room too. Cal had an Electrike too and it had perfected its moves already, so it would be graduating soon.

Unfortunately Jaco didn't exactly believe that his Electrike will ever graduate because it couldn't perfect its moves yet. Not to mention Jaco was only comfortable with raising flying type pokemon, not electric type pokemon. Tomo knelt down to stroke Electrike. "I believe this Electrike will graduate," he said "I know because I own an Electrike too". "I agree with Tomo," said Brock "this Electrike has a lot of potential in it. Hey Tomo, get your Electrike from Prof Oak. It can help this Electrike". "Sorry Brock but I can't do that" said Tomo. Ash explained yesterday he and Tomo got a call from Prof Oak. A power cut had happened in Pallet Town because the electric company's generator had broken down. So Prof Oak had sent all of the electric pokemon from the ranch, including Ash's and Tomo's electric pokemon to make the electricity until the generator was fixed properly. "Oh that's a shame," said Brock "never mind we'll stick with Pikachu to help". "Oh and I also have two electric pokemon with me now," said Tomo "I got them just before we got the incident happened". Tomo sent out his Plusle and Minun.

Suddenly Dawn screamed. "No, not Plusle and Minun!" she shouted "keep them away from me please!" Plusle and Minun didn't like Dawn's screaming and they ended up doing spark on her. Dawn's hair ended up frizzled and sparkling like a diamond. Dawn freaked out again and fainted. "What on earth?" asked Tomo. "Is she afraid of Plusle and Minun?" asked Ash. Everyone, including Jaco, was confused.

Moments later Dawn woke up and her hair was back to normal. "Are you alright Dawn?" asked Brock. "Yes I'm fine thanks," said Dawn "where's Plusle and Minun?" "They are outside helping Electrike with controlling electric moves with Pikachu and Jaco" answered Ash. "I can't believe that you have a Plusle and Minun Tomo" sighed Dawn. "Why are you afraid of Plusle and Minun anyway?" asked Tomo. "Did you get attacked from a Plusle and Minun one time?" asked Ash. "It's more than that, and I might as well tell you now" said Dawn.

Dawn's story was back when she was in nursery school Kenny her and another childhood friend of hers named Leona were in charge of looking after the nursery school's pets. The pets were a Plusle and Minun. While Kenny and Leona were cleaning out their playpen and sorting their food, Dawn was picking them up and was hugging them like crazy. Kenny tried to tell her not to do that, but Dawn simply said no need to worry. But then Plusle and Minun shocked Dawn and her hair became frizzly and sparkled like a diamond. Kenny and Leona found it amusing and decided to call her diamond dandruff from now on, but for short they called her Dee-Dee. The other kids found it amusing too and wouldn't stop teasing her the whole day. So this story was the reason why Kenny called her Dee-Dee and why she was afraid of Plusle and Minun.

The boys thought the story was funny. "The reason why Plusle and Minun did that was because you chased after them and you hugged them too much" said Ash. "Ash is right Dawn," said Brock "you see pokemon don't like it when you try and hug them like crazy. And the Plusle and Minun didn't like it when you did that to them". Dawn ended up understand that all of this was her fault from the beginning. "Come on we all make mistakes, you know that" said Brock, to cheer Dawn up.

Through the rest of today and the next day Electrike practiced its electric moves charge, discharge, spark, thunder fang, thunder and thunderbolt. It also learnt shock wave and charge beam thanks to Plusle and Minun. Jaco also ended up learning on how to take care of electric pokemon properly. In the end to everyone's surprise Electrike evolved into a Manectric. Because of its evolution and for perfecting its moves at last, Manectric had graduated the training center and Cal was ready to take it to the power generator room.

Jaco gave Manectric one final hug. "I'll miss you, and I'll never forget you" he said. Jaco had come to like electric type pokemon now and he gave off a smile while Cal drove away with Manectric. "I must be hard to say good bye especially after going through so much together" said Dawn. "Yes but that's part of a breeder's job," said Brock "great breeders prepare the pokemon from living life to the fullest". "Yes and now Jaco will be ready to raise the next electric pokemon he'll be asked to train here" said Ash. Jaco thanked the gang for all their help, and then the gang said good bye to him and continued onto Hearthome City.

It was ridiculous; the Dialga and Palkia movie was released before the Cynthia episode, and yet the episode pointed out that the gang hadn't met them yet but they did though. The gang will tell Cynthia about meeting Giratina and Arceus when I get to those movies, and Ash will be showing Cynthia the Griseous orb when he gets it. I do Cynthia has a Glaceon and Gastrodon, but I reckon she also has Lucario, Roserade and a Togekiss like the games. Ash should have shown Dawn something he learnt from the double contest battles thanks to the Kanto and Hoenn contests and festivals. I know he did in the episode, but not a lot if you ask me. I did say I was going to have Dawn explain about her Dee-Dee story in the electric pokemon training center chapter.

Now everyone, I've come up with a new idea of how Ash gets the Griseous Orb. In the pokemon movie where the gang meet Giratina and Shaymin, Ash will find the orb in the reverse world, which is Giratina's home in the movie. In the movie I will have Ash ask Giratina if he could use it to help fight Team Galactic.
