Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 122
Meeting Lucas,
And meeting up with Gary
Today was another training day for the gang. Dawn was having her Smoochum train with Tomo's Jynx. Dawn's Smoochum knew pound, lick and sweet kiss. Jynx was helping Smoochum learn powder snow and icy wind. "Your Jynx is a perfect teacher for my Smoochum Tomo" said Dawn. "Well Smoochum evolves into a Jynx," Tomo reminded Dawn "and we did tell you before that younger pokemon learn from older pokemon, especially their evolved forms". "Your right" said Dawn. Tomo's Jynx knew a lot of moves; pound, lick, sweet kiss, powder snow, confusion, sing, mean look, avalanche, copycat, perish song, blizzard, water pulse, calm mind, ice beam, psychic, shadow ball, double team, protect, hidden power, focus blast, energy ball, captivate, dream eater, heal bell, lovely kiss, double slap, wake up slap, ice punch, drain punch, body slam and hail. She was no longer a baby pokemon, that's for sure.
Ash was tending to his newest pokemon that he caught yesterday Hippopotas. Hippopotas was a brown and cream coloured hippo type pokemon and a ground type pokemon.
Ash checked Hippopotas on his pokedex: Hippopotas, the hippo pokemon. It enshrouds itself with sand to protect itself from germs. It does not enjoy getting wet.
Hippopotas was male and knew the moves tackle, sand attack, bite, yawn, dig and sand tomb and the egg moves stockpile, spit up and swallow. "Well Hippopotas," said Ash "let's see how you do with your moves". Ash had Pikachu let Hippopotas use his moves on him. As Pikachu was a lot tougher than Hippopotas, Hippopotas's attacks wouldn't affect him much. Hippopotas turned out to be quite tough himself especially with the moves tackle and bite. Ash could see that his new Hippopotas would be a great pokemon for him.
Suddenly they heard a voice; "Hey Dawn". The gang turned and saw a boy with slate grey hair and eyes and he was wearing a red cap with a black pokeball design, a light blue t-shirt, a navy blue and white jacket, blue-green jeans, red and white trainers and a red scarf. "Lucas it's you" she said, running up to him. "It's been a while Dawn" said Lucas. Dawn introduced the gang to Lucas and explained Lucas was another childhood friend of hers. "Do you live in Twinleaf town too?" Brock asked Lucas. "No I live in Sandgem Town," answered Lucas "but I've visited Twinleaf Town many times because Dawn's mum and my mum have been friends for years". "So Lucas, Prof Rowan told me that you've started travelling with pokemon again" said Dawn. Lucas explained to Brock, Ash and Tomo that his dad is an assistant of Prof Rowan and he ended up learning about pokemon from Prof Rowan himself. "When I turned ten I did go on a pokemon journey and collected the gym badges to enter the Sinnoh League. I didn't win the league of course, but after that I started to become an assistant of Prof Rowan. But a few months after becoming an assistant I decided to journey again to learn more about pokemon". "That's understandable" said Brock. Brock, Ash and Tomo did understand that because their journeys helped them learn a lot about pokemon. "So Dawn how has your journey been?" asked Lucas.
Dawn said she was enjoying her journey. "I've ended up seeing lots of new pokemon, learning a lot of new things thanks to Brock, Ash and Tomo, and I love entering pokemon contests". She showed Lucas her Floaroma ribbon. "I saw that contest on TV," said Lucas "I thought you were great Dawn". "Thank you" smiled Dawn. Ash showed Lucas his gym badges, his contest ribbons and his frontier plaque. "Wow Ash, you are doing a lot here in Sinnoh" said Lucas. "Yeah, but I like a good challenge" said Ash. "Hey Lucas," said Dawn "when you went on a journey did you ever run into a woman named Hunter J?" She explained that she and the boys saw Hunter J before and they learnt of an organization team called Team Galactic. "I have heard of them, but I never met them myself," said Lucas "I've also heard that Hunter J is a very dangerous woman so you lot better be careful when you meet up with her". "I'll feel better when she's captured and put in jail" said Ash.
Brock decided to change the mood and asked Lucas what pokemon he had. Lucas decided to show the gang what pokemon he had. He released six pokemon from six pokeballs. There was an Infernape, a Munchlax, a big weasel pokemon called Floatzel, a pokemon called Magmortar, a Staraptor and an Alakazam. "Wow you have a lot of cool pokemon" said Dawn. "I have more back at Prof Rowan's lab" said Lucas.
Ash and Tomo looked at Infernape, Floatzel and Magmortar on their pokedex's: Infernape, the flame pokemon. The final evolved form of Chimchar. It tosses its enemies around with agility. It uses all its limbs to fight in its own unique style. Floatzel, the sea weasel pokemon. The evolved form of Buizel. With its flotation sac inflated, it can carry people on its back. It deflates the sac before it dives. Magmortar, the blast pokemon. The evolved form of Magmar. It blasts fireballs of over 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit out of its arms. Its breath also sears and sizzles.
The gang thought Lucas's pokemon were amazing. "Hey Lucas," said Ash "mind if we have a pokemon battle? I'd love to challenge against your Infernape, Floatzel and Magmortar". "I accept your challenge Ash," said Lucas "I haven't battled anyone for a while now, so I'm itching for a pokemon battle myself".
So Ash and Lucas got ready to battle each other. The rule was a three on three. "It will be great seeing Lucas battle" said Dawn. "You never saw Lucas battle before Dawn?" asked Brock. "I did see him battle on TV when he entered the Sinnoh League last year," said Dawn "and I did see him battle one time when he last came to visit Twinleaf Town, so it's been quite a while since I saw him battle". "I see" said Brock.
Ash called out his Staravia to battle first, and Lucas sent out Infernape to battle first. Brock pointed out that Infernape was both a fire and fighting type pokemon, so Staravia had an advantage over it. Lucas started off by telling Infernape to use flamethrower, but Staravia dodged the flames. Then Ash told Staravia to use sand attack, and Staravia made sand fly over Infernape. "Now Staravia use aerial ace". Staravia tackled Infernape hard. "Good hit" said Dawn. "Yes but Infernape isn't down yet" said Brock. He was right because Infernape showed no signs of being defeated yet. "Your Staravia is good Ash, but check this out" said Lucas. He told Infernape to use flare blitz. Poor Staravia had no chance to dodge it, so Ash told him to use aerial ace. Unfortunately for Staravia, Infernape's flare blitz was stronger and he fainted from the attack. It was clear that Lucas's pokemon were stronger than Ash's Sinnoh pokemon, especially since Lucas had travelled and trained with his pokemon for a year and a half. Ash returned Staravia and called out Prinplup next. "Infernape will be in trouble now" said Tomo. Dawn's Piplup was eager to see what Prinplup will do. "Prinplup use bubble beam" said Ash. Prinplup fired bubbles towards Infernape. "Dodge it and use flamethrower" said Lucas. Infernape dodged the bubbles and blew flamethrower. "Use brine Prinplup" said Ash. Prinplup blew a stream of water from his mouth and it hit the flamethrower and turned it to steam. "Quick bubblebeam Prinplup". Prinplup blew a lot of bubbles, and this time Infernape got hit by them. "Now use peck". Prinplup quickly pecked Infernape hard and then Infernape fainted. "That's one win for Ash, so Lucas now has two pokemon left as well" said Tomo. Lucas returned Infernape and called out Floatzel. Since Floatzel was a water type pokemon, Ash returned Prinplup and sent out Vigoroth. "Vigoroth use bulk up" he said. Vigoroth bulked himself to get stronger. "Floatzel use water gun" said Lucas. Floatzel blew a stream of water and it hit Vigoroth. "Vigoroth use slash" said Ash. Vigoroth attacked by scratching Floatzel. "Floatzel use crunch" said Lucas. Floatzel tried to bite Vigoroth, but Vigoroth managed to avoid being bitten. "Alright Vigoroth thunderbolt" said Ash. Vigoroth sent out a thunderbolt attack and Floatzel got hit by it. "Woah Vigoroth knows thunderbolt?" asked Dawn, in surprise. "Vigoroth also knows blizzard and flamethrower" smiled Tomo. Brock explained to Dawn about the gym leader Norman in Hoenn who had a Vigoroth as well as Slakoth and Slaking. "Ash's Vigoroth idolises Norman's Vigoroth, so it wanted to become strong like Norman's Vigoroth". "I understand" said Dawn. Lucas was impressed with Vigoroth, but he wasn't beaten yet. "Floatzel use water gun" he said. Vigoroth got hit by the water gun attack before he could do anything. "Use thunderbolt again Vigoroth" said Ash. "Floatzel use aqua jet" said Lucas. While Floatzel used aqua jet, it did get hit by Vigoroth's thunderbolt attack but it didn't stop Floatzel. Vigoroth got hit by the aqua jet. Vigoroth couldn't take anymore after this and fainted. "Lucas won this round" said Dawn. "Look though" said Brock. Floatzel was panting from being hit by thunderbolt twice and then it fainted too. "Floatzel was exhausted after getting hit twice from thunderbolt" said Brock. Lucas returned Floatzel and sent out Magmortar and Ash returned Vigoroth and sent out Prinplup again. Now Ash and Lucas were down to one pokemon each. "Prinplup use bubble beam" said Ash. "Dodge that and use thunder punch" said Lucas. Magmortar dodged the bubbles and moved in to use thunder punch. "Dodge it Prinplup" said Ash. Prinplup managed to avoid getting hit by thunder punch, but then Magmortar used confuse ray which made Prinplup confused. "Prinplup try to use brine" said Ash. Luckily Prinplup did use brine, but Magmortar dodged it and used thunder punch. Prinplup couldn't dodge it because of his confused state and got hit. "Oh no Prinplup" said Ash. After that hit Prinplup snapped out of his confusion and attacked back with bubble beam. Magmortar did get hit by the bubbles but it wasn't enough to defeat it. "Use pound Prinplup" said Ash. "Magmortar thunder punch" said Lucas. Magmortar and Prinplup charged at each other with their attacks and they got hit by each other. Being hit by thunder punch again made Prinplup faint from the electric attack. So Lucas won the battle, making Ash lose a battle for the first time in a while ever since he lost to Paul.
"Wow Ash lost" said Dawn. "Yes but it was a good one" said Tomo. "This battle has helped Ash's pokemon know they have a lot more training to go through to become stronger than they already are" said Brock. Ash thanked Lucas for the battle. "No thank you Ash, that was a good battle I've had in a while" said Lucas. He and Ash shook hands. The rest of the day was with Dawn talking about all her pokemon and about what has been happening on the journey so far. That evening Lucas decided to leave. "Where will you be going now Lucas?" asked Dawn. "Oh I'm going to Celestic Town to visit the museum there" answered Lucas. "If Cynthia is there say hi to her for us" said Ash. "Will do" said Lucas, and he left.
Dawn was happy to have seen her old childhood friend Lucas again, and Ash was happy to have had a pokemon battle with him despite the loss.
Today the gang were passing an area where a mountain called Mt Coronet stood. Mt Coronet was the highest mountain in all of Sinnoh and it was the center of Sinnoh too. Just then the gang saw a Shieldon coming out from a bush. "Wow, where did that Shieldon come from?" said Tomo.
Before anyone could answer one of Hunter J's vans arrived. "Oh no!" shouted Ash, who remembered Hunter J and her vans. "I bet Hunter J and her men are here to take Shieldon and sell it on the black market" said Tomo, angrily. He was right because two of Hunter J's men were after it. Pikachu and Growlithe got ready to fight and one of the men sent out a Golbat. Pikachu used thunder bolt and Growlithe used flamethrower, but Golbat dodged the attacks and hit Pikachu and Growlithe with air cutter. It seemed that Hunter J's henchmen's pokemon were strong too.
Before the two brothers told Pikachu and Growlithe to do anything else, a thunder bolt attack stopped the henchmen in their tracks. It was Gary and his Electivire. The Shieldon ran over to Gary. "Shieldon I'm glad you're safe" said Gary. Ash and Tomo were surprised to see Gary. "What are you doing here Gary?" Ash asked Gary. "No time to explain Ash, we have to get out of here" said Gary. He picked up Shieldon and started to run with Electivire and the gang followed him. Dawn asked Brock who Gary was, and Brock explained that Gary lives in Pallet Town in Kanto like Ash and that Gary and Ash had been rivals ever since they were small kids.
The two men contacted Hunter J at once and told her about the kids they met before. Of course that made Hunter J cross; she knew that the gang would get in her way like they did the last time. The men also told her that the gang and the trainer with the Electivire stopped them from capturing the Shieldon. "But don't worry we will succeed on capturing Shieldon" said a man. "For your sake you better" said Hunter J. She was clearly somebody who didn't like failure and would punish those severely who did fail.
Meanwhile Gary, Shieldon and the gang had made it to safety. "So Gary are you doing research here?" asked Ash. "That's right," answered Gary "a lot of things have happened since I last saw you and Tomo back in Pallet Town. Oh and I'm pleased to meet you Dawn; I heard about you from my grandpa". Brock explained to Dawn that Gary was Prof Oak's grandson. That made Dawn thrilled because it made her think that Gary wrote pokemon poetry as well; but of course he didn't.
Just then they came to an area where three more Shieldon were roaming. They were happy to see the other Shieldon. "Wow, more Shieldon," said Ash "were these Shieldon revived from armor fossils?" "Yes they were and now they live free around Mt Coronet here" said Gary. Gary explained that he was part of a protect that planned to make the area a nature preserve to protect Shieldon. "You'd be lucky if it will be successful Gary," said Ash "don't forget bad people would have their desire to go after these Shieldons, rather than just look for armor fossils". "Don't worry Ash I'm aware of that," said Gary "and that's why I keep an eye on these Shieldons all the time". Gary then contacted Prof Rowan on his laptop and told him about the pokemon hunters going after the Shieldons. "I'm taking the Shieldons and leave to a safer place". Prof Rowan told Gary that he and his team were on the way and gave him directions on where to meet them. "Be careful Gary". The conversation ended. "You better let us help you Gary," said Ash "there is no way you can handle Hunter J and her men on your own". Gary understood and did let the gang help them.
Suddenly the van turned up. "It's them again!" shouted Dawn. Gary told his Electivire to get the Shieldons to safety, then he sent out his Blastoise and ordered it to attack the van with water gun. The van got soaked. Next Pikachu used thunderbolt. Because of the water the car was electrocuted good by Pikachu's thunderbolt. The two men were angry and got out of the van. One of the men sent out his Golbat and Golbat knocked Blastoise onto his back wing attack. Tomo was just about to give Growlithe a command, but Gary stopped him. "If we attack we might hurt the Shieldons" he said. "But if we don't fight back they'll take away the Shieldons" said Tomo. Gary had an idea though. He sent out his Umbreon and Umbreon stopped Golbat in its tracks with sand attack. Then Umbreon ran towards some trees and bushes while Golbat attacked with air cutter. Unfortunately for Golbat, its air cutter attack hit some trees where Beedrill were living. A swarm of Beedrill came out of the trees and attacked the two men and Golbat. This gave Gary and the gang a chance with run away with the Shieldons. "Did you know that Beedrill live around here Gary?" asked Brock. "I've been researching all over this area including founding which pokemon live where," said Gary "this is no time for risky attacks so not to hurt the Shieldons". Ash could see that Gary has changed ever since he became a researcher.
At that time Hunter J was talking to a client on her computer screen. Her client was a man at around his forties, and it seemed he was a very rich man. This man was the one who wanted Hunter J to capture a Shieldon for him. Hunter J was telling him that she would have a Shieldon ready for him by the end of today. The client asked if he could pick up the Shieldon from her himself, and Hunter J agreed. Then the call ended. Hunter J sent all of her men out to get a Shieldon and she got onto her Salamence's back.
By now Gary and the gang were hiding behind some bushes with the Shieldons. "Hunter J's men are everywhere" whispered Dawn. "It seems all the possible escape roots are blocked off" whispered Brock. "Maybe I can use teleport to get us someplace else" whispered Ash. "You mustn't Ash," said Gary "otherwise you might teleport us in front of those men. Not to mention you don't want Hunter J to find out you have these powers". Gary learnt about Ash's teleportation power from his grandfather. "But what can we do then?" said Tomo. Gary opened up his laptop and looked on the map of the area. "There's a river to the north and a deep valley farer to the south," he said "it's going to be really hard to bring all the Shieldon with us". "Yeah but we have to go Gary;" said Ash "if we stay here the men will catch us and the Shieldons". Gary agreed especially since they needed to get to Prof Rowan.
Eventually Gary, the gang and the Shieldons came to a rocky area and now they were walking across some rocky cliffs. The Shieldons didn't like this, but with everyone's support they reached a safe area. Bad news was Hunter J was having her men scan the whole area and that was when Hunter J noticed some presence in the area on the map of her goggles. The presence was Prof Rowan with Officer Jenny. Prof Rowan told Gary they were on the way now. "Just a little longer and we'll be fine" said Brock.
But Brock was wrong, because at that moment Hunter J turned up on her Salamence. The gang was shocked that she was able to find them. "Hand over the Shieldon" said J, pointing her cannon at them. "You aren't taking any of these Shieldon witch!" shouted Ash. He ordered Pikachu to use iron tail and Pikachu whacked J's cannon very hard. "Everyone get Shieldon to safety" he said to the others. Tomo, Dawn, Brock and Gary started to walk away with the Shieldons while Ash stayed behind to fight J. Hunter J sent out her Drapion and ordered it to use cross poison. Pikachu did get hit by it, but he wasn't going to let the Drapion beat him. "Pikachu use hidden power" said Ash. Pikachu released a hidden power attack and Drapion got hit by it. Pikachu's hidden power was ground type and Drapion was weak against ground type. Still that didn't exactly beat Drapion. Gary could see that Ash needed help. He told the others to get the Shieldon to safety while he helped Ash. Gary sent out his Blastoise to help out.
While Ash and Gary tried to fight Hunter J, trouble happened. As Brock, Dawn, Tomo and the Shieldons were crawling away, one of the Shieldons slipped down the hill. Hunter J saw it and froze it into a statue. Ash and Gary tried to fight back to save the Shieldon, but Salamence and Drapion over powered them. So J was successful of capturing Shieldon.
At that time Dawn, Brock and Tomo had gotten away with the other Shieldons. Just then Prof Rowan and Officer Jenny turned up. The gang told them what had happened. "We must go after Hunter J and find Ash and Gary now" said Officer Jenny.
Right now Hunter J and her men were getting ready to head back to the ship. Ash and Gary quickly snuck underneath a van to hitch a ride to the ship. "If that witch things I'm going to let her sell Shieldon to another person she's wrong" said Ash, angrily. "Same here" said Gary. Gary hated J's idea of stealing and selling pokemon like Ash did. Soon Hunter J and her men arrived at the ship. One of the men informed J that the client was arriving soon. J told her men that they were going to wait where they were now for the client. Under the van, Ash carefully sent his Staravia to get the others. While the van was going back into the ship, Gary told Ash that they were going to cause a distraction and then jump in to grab Shieldon. "Finally no more playing Mr nice guy" said Ash.
At that moment J's client was arriving in a helicopter. But then an explosion happened inside J's ship. It was from Ash and Gary. Ash had his Pikachu attacked the inside of the ship with thunder. Gary had his Electivire attack with thunder too and had Umbreon use shadow ball. "That's enough attacking now, time to get Shieldon back" said Gary. Pikachu and Electivire created another small explosion at the side of the ship, and then Ash rushed in to grab Shieldon. Hunter J's men rushed to get it back, but they were stopped by Electivire and Umbreon. Ash released Shieldon from its statue state at once and Shieldon was happy to be free again.
Hunter J was cross and was about to fight back, but then her client contacted her from his helicopter. He was calling the deal off because Officer Jenny was on the way and he didn't want to be arrested or found out that he was doing business with Hunter J. So he left. J was angry with her client for breaking off their contract and she decided not to do business with him ever again. "We have no more business here" she said to her men. Ash wanted to move in to stop her from getting away again, but Gary stopped him because it was more important that Shieldon was safe. J gave Ash a warning not to get in her way again and she and her men left.
So the Shieldons were safe again at last. Officer Jenny promised that she will get a full investigation on Hunter J at once. "Did those men of J's that we captured before say anything?" asked Brock. "No even though J abandoned them they are not talking" said Officer Jenny. "Really, that's stupid if you ask me," said Dawn "why I would defiantly play tattle tale if I was ever betrayed like that". "Don't worry, I will get to the bottom of all this" promised Officer Jenny. The gang hoped that Hunter J would be dealt with soon. Prof Rowan thanked the gang for helping out with the Shieldons and Gary was grateful too. He and Ash shook hands with each other. "Thank you Ash" he said. "My pleasure Gary" replied Ash. Then Prof Rowan, Gary and Officer Jenny left with the Shieldon.
So after having another encounter with the evil Hunter J and seeing Gary, the gang could now continue onto Hearthome City.
Sorry for the wait; it was tricky trying to plan out Ash's battle with Lucas. I hope no one minds that I had Ash lose the battle against Lucas. Lucas's pokemon had to be stronger than Ash's Sinnoh pokemon because Lucas had trained them for a year and Ash had only started with his Sinnoh pokemon. The gang will meet up with Lucas again, I'm not sure where yet but they will. I didn't have any of J's men arrested here because I didn't know what to do for that in his chapter, but some of the men will be arrested in the next time they meet J.
