Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 123
The Battle Hall
And the Hearthome contest
The gang were near Hearthome City, but there was one place they were visiting first because it was just near Hearthome City. It was the second Battle Facility. "So what's this Battle Facility called Ash?" asked Dawn. "Well the map said it was called the Battle Hall" said Ash. "Awe then maybe this facility will look fancy like the Battle Castle did" said Dawn. "Hey I think we are here" Tomo said suddenly.
Tomo pointed to a big pink and white dome shaped building. "How gorgeous" said Dawn, in delight. "Could that be the Battle Hall?" asked Brock. "Only one way to find out" replied Ash. The gang walked up to the building. A security guard was outside and he walked to the gang. "What are you kids doing here?" he asked. "Excuse me but is this the battle hall?" asked Ash. The guard said it was and Ash explained he was here to challenge the Battle Hall. "Well in that case, you had better go in Miss Argentina has been waiting for a challenger" said the guard, and he let the gang in. Inside was like being in the entrance of a theatre hall; there were hallways leading to doors for events. "Wow it's nice in here" said Dawn. "I was wandering when you kids would show up" said a voice; it was Matt. "Hi Matt" said Ash. "Hey Ash," said Matt "ready to face the next frontier brain?" "Do you know who the frontier brain is?" asked Brock. Matt explained the frontier brain for the Battle Hall was a woman named Argenta, known as Hall Matron Argenta. "Let's go in now because it's time for one of her shows". He opened two doors to another room.
At first the gang didn't understand what Matt said, but when they entered the room they understood. This room was a hall for fashion shows. There were four platforms for women to do the catwalk to show off their fashions, hundreds of seats for the audience, lots of lights hanging on the ceiling and a big TV screen for everyone to see what was going on. There was even a big stage with a curtain behind that led to a platform that seemed to look like a battle field. "Wow a fashion show" said Dawn, with stars in her eyes. Matt explained that Argenta was a fashion stylist and held fashion shows at the Battle Hall. "We better sit down now kids her show is about to begin".
As soon as Matt and the gang sat down in the sits a fashion show was starting and soon women began to walk down the platforms showing off their dresses, shorts, tops, jackets etc. Dawn couldn't stop yapping about how beautiful and gorgeous the outfits were. Suddenly the lights lit up the battle field platform and there was a woman with purple hair and wearing sun glasses. "That Ash is the Hall Matron Argenta" said Matt.
Argenta started to speak through a microphone. "Hello everyone," she said "thank you for coming to see my show. Now everyone I have a treat for you all because I have a challenger to challenge me today". The crowd started to cheer; apparently they liked to see Argenta battle as well as her fashion shows. "And here he is" said Argenta. The lights lit on Ash. That made Ash surprised because how did she know he wanted to challenge her? Matt explained he told Argenta about Ash and his quest of challenging the battle frontier. "Come on up Ash Ketchum" said Argenta. Ash got out of his seat and walked up onto the battle field platform. "Well Ash, are you ready to challenge me?" asked Argenta. "I'm as ready as I will ever be" answered Ash. "A nice strong spirit I see" replied Argenta. Just then a maid came onto the platform carrying a box. "What's the box for?" asked Ash. Argenta explained that she liked to battle with pokemon of the same type as the opponents. For example if Ash chose a water type pokemon she would fight with a water type pokemon too. This made Ash remember Rudy who did the same thing. "So Ash pick out four cards from the box and tell me what type pokemon we will fight with" said Argenta. This challenge was a four on four pokemon battle. Ash's four cards revealed to be grass, bug, dark and psychic. "Okay Ash you may now go and choose your pokemon and you can pokemon transported here too" said Argenta. A pokemon transfer machine appeared on the stage. Ash went over to the machine to switch out his pokemon. "I wonder what pokemon Ash will be choosing" said Dawn. "Well whatever they are Argenta will be using the same type too" said Brock. Once Ash was done with switching his pokemon the machine disappeared and Ash and Argenta got ready for the battle. The maid was the referee and explained the rules about this challenge being a four on four, and both challengers would switch pokemon after a pokemon has fainted. To Ash this would be like the challenge he had with Rudy.
Ash sent out his first pokemon Sceptile. "So Ash's grass pokemon is Sceptile and it looks pretty strong" said Matt. "What a cool pokemon" said Dawn, looking at it on her pokedex. "I wonder what grass pokemon Argenta will be using?" said Tomo. Tomo's answer soon came; Argenta's grass pokemon was a Roserade. "Oh-oh since Roserade is part poison Sceptile could be in trouble" said Dawn. "Yes but wait till you see how Sceptile battles" said Brock. "Yeah Ash's Sceptile is no weakling believe us" said Tomo. Dawn felt she was in for a surprise after hearing what the boys said.
Ash started off by telling Sceptile to use bullet seed. Argenta told Roserade to dodge the attack and use sludge bomb. "Use protect to protect yourself from the sludge bomb attack Sceptile" said Ash. Sceptile create a shield to protect himself from Roserade's sludge bomb attack. "Use aerial ace". Sceptile moved in with aerial ace and tackled Roserade. "Wow Sceptile knows aerial ace?" said Dawn. "Yep and it knows some other great moves as well" said Tomo. Argenta ordered Roserade to use petal dance next. "Counter that with leaf storm" said Ash. The petal dance and leaf storm attacks collided with each other. "Alright Roserade go in with poison sting" said Argenta. "Fight back with leaf blade" said Ash. Roserade fired a poison sting attack, but Sceptile used leaf blade to cut the barbs before they could hit him. "Okay Sceptile time for dragon breath" said Ash. Sceptile fired a dragon breath attack and Roserade got hit by it. "Wow first time I'm seeing a Sceptile with dragon breath" said Argenta, in surprise. Dawn was surprised by this too. "You see Dawn?" said Brock "all of Ash's old pokemon have learnt lots of moves in their time". Dawn saw the point. Ash told Sceptile to use aerial ace and Sceptile tackled Roserade. "Now Sceptile leaf blade" said Ash. Sceptile slashed Roserade hard with leaf blade and Roserade fainted, giving Ash the first win.
"Alright Ash has the first win" said Dawn. "Yeas but he still has another three rounds to go" said Brock. Argenta returned Roserade and Ash returned his Sceptile. "You did well against Roserade Ash," said Argenta "but let's see how you do against my second pokemon". Her second pokemon was a Masquerain. "That's a pretty pokemon" said Dawn, looking at Masquerain on the pokedex. Ash sent out his Beautifly to battle Masquerain. "I heard from my friend Scott that Ash has a lot of pokemon and he was right" said Matt. He couldn't wait to see what other pokemon Ash had.
Ash started off by telling Beautifly to use poison sting. "Dodge it and use bubble Masquerain" said Argenta. Masquerain dodged the poison sting attack and blew bubbles, and Beautifly got hit by the bubbles. "Okay Beautifly use gust" said Ash. Beautifly blew a gust attack from her wings. "Masquerain use air slash" said Argenta. Masquerain released an air slash attack from its wings and Beautifly got hit by the attack. "Don't give up yet Beautifly use morning sun to heal yourself" said Ash. Beautifly used morning sun to heal herself at once. "So morning sun recovers a pokemon's health?" asked Dawn. "Yes just like synthesis and recover does" answered Brock. "Okay Beautifly use silver wind" said Ash. Beautifly blew a silver wind attack from her wings. "Masquerain counter that with your silver wind" said Argenta. Masquerain blew its own silver wind attack and it over powered Beautifly's silver wind and hit Beautifly. "Ash's Beautifly may be in trouble now as Masquerain's silver wind was stronger than Beautifly's" said Matt. Then Masquerain blew bubble attack and Beautifly got hit by them. "Now air slash" said Argenta. Masquerain fired an air slash attack and it hit Beautifly. Beautifly couldn't take anymore and fainted, giving Argenta the win this round.
Of course the audience started to cheer for Argenta's win. "Oh man with a crowd like this Ash must be under pressure" said Ash. "No he isn't," said Tomo "Ash has gone through something like this before. Like at the Indigo League in Kanto when there was a big crowd only cheering for one of his opponents and when at the Orange Islands when he faced the champion the crowd was rooting only for the champion and back at the battle frontier in Kanto a crowd only cheered for Tucker who was a frontier brain. And Ash never let that bother him". "Then Ash is a very brave person" said Dawn.
Ash's next pokemon was Absol and Argenta sent out an Umbreon. "Hey my mum has an Umbreon too" said Dawn. Argenta started off by telling Umbreon to use quick attack and Ash told Absol to use quick attack too. The two pokemon tackled each other. "Okay Absol flamethrower" said Ash. Absol blew a flamethrower attack, but Umbreon dodged it. "Umbreon use confuse ray" said Argenta. Umbreon released a confuse ray attack and Absol became confused. "Oh no" said Dawn. She knew that having a confused pokemon was trouble. "Absol try to use dark pulse" said Ash. Absol did try but in her confuse state she couldn't aim her attack right. "Umbreon use quick attack" said Argenta. Umbreon started to tackle Absol nonstop with quick attack. Ash knew that if he didn't do something soon he would lose this round. Absol try to use megahorn" he said. Luckily, Absol did use megahorn and she managed to hit Umbreon. "Good thing that Absol does have the bug move megahorn" said Tomo. He explained to Dawn that bug beats dark. Argenta ordered her Umbreon to use double team. Ash smiled and told Absol to use swift. Absol's confusion was over by that time. The Umbreon copies got hit by the stars and so did the real Umbreon. "Okay Absol use megahorn again" said Ash. Absol tackled Umbreon hard with her horn. After that bug type move Umbreon fainted, giving Ash a second win.
"Now Ash has only one more round to win" said Brock. "But what will happen if Argenta wins the last round and it's a draw?" asked Dawn. "If that happens then I'm afraid Argenta will win" said Matt. He explained that if any challenges ended up in a draw then the frontier brain would win. "Oh yeah, I just remembered that was the same back at the battle frontier in Kanto" said Brock. Dawn started to worry for Ash now. Ash and Argenta recalled their pokemon and sent out their last pokemon. Ash had chosen Grumpig and Argenta sent out a Gardevoir.
Argenta started off this time by telling Gardevoir to use magical leaf. "Ha we know what to do with this," said Ash "Grumpig use psychic". Grumpig used psychic to stop the leaves in their track and sent them back to Gardevoir. Argenta didn't expect that. "Wow what a clever move" said Dawn, who saw what happened. "This is something Ash learnt from another coordinator in the Hoenn region" said Brock. "Use bounce Grumpig" said Ash. Grumpig sprung on her tail and got ready to tackle Gardevoir. "Teleport Gardevoir" said Argenta. Gardevoir used teleport to dodge from being hit by Grumpig. "Now confusion Gardevoir". Gardevoir used confusion to lift Grumpig into the air. "If Ash doesn't think of something soon he'll be in trouble" said Brock. Ash quickly told Grumpig to use power gem and Grumpig manged to fire and hit Gardevoir with power gem. The attack broke Grumpig free from Gardevoir's control. "Now Grumpig use shadow ball" said Ash. Grumpig fired a shadow ball attack and Gardevoir got hit by it. "Keep at it Grumpig". Grumpig fired another shadow ball attack and again Gardevoir got hit by it. "Gardevoir use psychic" said Argenta. "Psybeam Grumpig" said Ash. Before Gardevoir could use psychic on Grumpig, Grumpig used psybeam on Gardevoir. The psybeam attack made Gardevoir dizzy and confused. "Now Gardevoir use bounce". Grumpig used her tail to jump high and then she tackled Gardevoir hard. Gardevoir fainted after that, making Ash the winner of the challenge.
"Alright Ash did it" said Dawn. "I told you he would" said Tomo. Matt was impressed with Ash and his pokemon indeed. Argenta returned her Gardevoir and walked over to Ash. "Ash you and your pokemon really did put on a good show when battling me," she said "and that's why I now present to you the Battle Hall plaque". The maid present Ash a gold plaque with a picture of the Battle Hall on a cushion, and Ash took the plaque. "Everyone please give Ash a round of applause for his victory" said Argenta. The audience clapped loudly for Ash, even Brock, Tomo and Dawn and Matt clapped for Ash.
So Ash won his second battle frontier plaque.
After Ash's win at the Battle Hall, the gang made it to Hearthome City. Not only was there a pokemon contest in the city, there was also a gym to earn another badge there. Ash and Tomo wanted to see the gym, but when they got there they saw Nando. Nando had come to see the Hearthome Gym too and he told the gang that the gym was closed because the gym leader was away. There was a notice about it on the door. "That's a bummer," said Ash "Tomo and I wanted to challenge the gym before the pokemon contest tomorrow".
Suddenly the gang noticed a red and black cricket like pokemon beside Nando. "This is my beloved Kricketune" said Nando.
Ash looked at Kricketune on his pokedex: Kricketune, the cricket pokemon. The evolved form of Kricketot. It crosses its knifelike arms in front of its chest when it cries. It can compose melodies ad lib.
Dawn thought a musical pokemon like Kricketune suited Nando very well. Because Ash and Tomo couldn't battle the gym, Nando suggested they battle in the Hearthome tag battle tournament. He explained that it was a famous tournament in Hearthome City and pokemon trainers from all over come over to battle and win. The gang thought it sounded very exciting and Ash and Tomo decided to enter it and even Brock became interested in entering it. "Nando are you going to enter the tournament too?" asked Ash. "No I'm just going to concentrate on the pokemon contest" answered Nando. "Speaking of the contest, we better register for it Dawn" said Ash. Dawn agreed.
So Ash, Nando and Dawn made their way to the contest hall to register. Along the way Nando explained that he only had one ribbon and one gym badge. Ash said he had one ribbon and two gym badges and Dawn said she only had one ribbon too. Just then they saw Zoey sitting near some stalls with her Glameow, Shellos and Misdreavus. Dawn was happy to see Zoey again and happy to see that her foot was better at last. Ash introduced Zoey to Nando and explained to her that Nando was doing gyms and contests like him. "I am pleased to meet you" Nando said to Zoey. "Same here" replied Zoey. Ash and Dawn were glad that Zoey understood, back at the Jubilife contest, that there was nothing wrong with participating in both gyms and contests. So at least she wouldn't act cold to Nando like she did to Ash at first.
After everyone registered for the contest, everyone went to the pokemon center to have their pokemon checked. Dawn decided to use her Piplup and Pachirisu in the appeal round and Buizel and Wormadam in the battle round. Zoey was with her and was commenting that her pokemon looked good and ready. "It was thanks to your help that we are ready" said Dawn, remembering the training. Zoey warned her not to go over confident and things like that. Dawn admitted that she was still nervous because this was her first double performance, but Zoey reminded Dawn to just have a good time out there.
Meanwhile Ash was with Brock and Tomo. Tomo was playing a game of heads and tails on his poketch. A few days ago Ash, Dawn and Tomo got vouchers for getting a new app to their poketchs called the coin toss, and with it you get to do heads and tails with a coin that had a picture of a Magikarp on the front. Ash had his Cranidos and Shieldon out; he was going to use them for the contest appeal round and use Leafeon and Glaceon for the battle round. "Are Cranidos and Shieldon ready for this Ash?" asked Brock. "Yep I created a cool combo with them," answered Ash "and one of my new seals with look great for them". Ash pulled out an envelope from his back pack and inside was capsule seals; some were seals called liquid seals, some were called burst seals and the rest called twinkle seals. "You were lucky to have got this Ash, especially since the seals are very hard to get" said Brock.

Before arriving at the Battle Hall, the gang went into the shop to get some supplies. But this shop was having a lottery competition. The lottery was one of those drawing a ball out of a box and the first prize was an envelope full of special capsule ball seals that you can hardly get. Of course Ash and Dawn wanted to have a go at getting them at once. There were other coordinators in the shop too wanting to get them. In the end Ash won the prize, much to everyone's disappointment.

"That was certainly lucky of you to have got them Ash" said Brock. "Yeah and I can't wait to try them out" said Ash.
Next day the Hearthome Contest was ready to begin Marian did the usual introductions and showed off the Hearthome ribbon. The ribbons were red with a white middle. Ash, Dawn and Zoey were in the waiting room, waiting for their turns. Dawn had a yellow ribbon to go with the red ribbon on her dress and her hair barrettes were stars. Zoey was wearing a yellow shirt, and blue coat and shoes and white trousers and a green broach. Ash wore a cream coloured coat and trousers, a cream coloured top hat with a dark green ribbon round it, a white shirt, a dark green vest, white gloves, a dark green bow tie and brown shoes. (This outfit is based on the baron's outfit in whisper in the heart but without a red and yellow spotted bow)
Nando was the first to perform and he sent out his Sunflora and Kricketune. His catchphrase was make your mark. Their capsule balls had song notes on them and they released blue staves of horizontal lines and hundreds of yellow musical notes. Sunflora started to use grass whistle while Kricketune used sing and together with Nando playing his harp they started to play a lovely melody. It was obvious Nando taught his pokemon music and singing. Zoey was impressed by Nando's skill and could see that he really had what it took to be a coordinator. "Nando is a real musician isn't he?" asked Tomo, in the seats. "He has a way with it" said Brock.
After Nando were a performance with a Solrock and Lunatone, then a performance with Steelix and Smoochum, then a performance with a Duskull and a Psyduck and then a performance with Cubone and Marowak.
Then it was Dawn's turn. She sent out her Piplup and Pachirisu with party seals. Pachirisu started off by using sweet kiss, and then Piplup trapped the hearts with bubbles. Next Piplup used whirlpool and Pachirisu used discharge to light up the whirlpool and then it exploded into light blue sparkles.
Next up was Ash's turn and he sent out his Cranidos and Shieldon with burst seals. The burst seals made a fiery explosion like a small bomb entrance. Ash told both Cranidos and Shieldon to use flamethrower and the two fossil pokemon both fired flamethrower into the air. "Now use rock slide and show everyone your hard heads" said Ash. Cranidos and Shieldon made some small rocks appear and then they both used headbutt to break the small rocks apart. To finish off the two fossil pokemon roared loudly like a pair of dinosaurs.
Then it was Zoey's turn. She sent out her Shellos and Glameow with line seals. Shellos started off by using mud bomb and Glameow broke the mud bombs with iron tail. Next Glameow used secret power to let off a pink light and then it used shadow claw on the light. It created an aurora of lights. Then Shellos used water pulse and then Glameow broke the water in two with its claws. The water made a lot of rainbows when shining in the aurora lights.
Now the appeal round was over and everyone had to wait for the results in the second round. Dawn felt for sure her performance would have gotten her into the battle round. Piplup felt confident too. "I thought you did great for your first double performance Dawn" said Ash. "Thank you Ash and your Cranidos and Shieldon were great too" said Dawn. Just then the results came up and eight coordinators were to make it to the battle round. Nando, Zoey and Ash got their pictures up but Dawn didn't, so Sawn didn't make it to the second round. Nando, Zoey and Ash couldn't believe it and neither could Brock and Tomo.
At Twinleaf Town Johanna saw everything on TV including the results. "These things happen" she said. (I reckon the same thing happened to her in the past)
In the waiting room Ash didn't know what to say to Dawn; he could feel that she was very upset with this. Piplup and Pachirisu looked with apologetic looks at Dawn. "I'm sorry for letting you down" she said to them. Buizel and Wormadam felt sorry for Dawn too. Brock and Tomo came into the waiting room to try and cheer Dawn up. "Dawn you were still really great out there" said Tomo. "Yes you were in perfect sync with Piplup and Pachirisu in your performance" said Brock. "Then why did we lose?" asked Dawn, angrily. Zoey and Piplup could see that Dawn was very upset, but Dawn angrily said she was fine. But then she ran out of the waiting room. "She's upset and crushed by her loss" said Ash. "Yes and that's why we should leave her alone for a bit" said Zoey. Tomo and Brock hoped Dawn would be alright. Dawn was crying and when she ran out to a balcony of the building she screamed out of frustration.
All the while the second round was on the way. Ash, Zoey and Nando defeated their first opponent, then when it came to the second round Ash was up against Zoey and Nando was against someone else. Zoey used Misdreavus and Glameow for the battle round, while Ash used Glaceon and Leafeon. In the end Glaceon and Leafeon defeated Zoey's Glameow and Misdreavus with combinations of iron tail and shadow ball and energy ball. (This is based what May's Glaceon did with shadow ball and iron tail during the Wallace cup)
Dawn was in the dressing room and back in her original clothes. Just then Brock, Tomo and the pokemon turned up. Brock told her about Ash beating Zoey and now that Ash was facing Nando in the finals. Dawn was surprised that Zoey lost. Nando had his Kricketune and Roselia while Ash had his Glaceon and Leafeon. In the end Kricketune and Roselia were defeated by Glaceon and Leafeon by a double aerial ace attack. And Ash won the Hearthome ribbon. After congratulating Ash on his win Nando healed his pokemon at the pokemon center and left.
That night Ash, Brock and Dawn were talking to Johanna on the phone. "Dawn must feel very bad" said Johanna. "I'm afraid she does," said Ash "but Zoey does too. That's why we've left them alone together for a bit". "That was a good idea," said Johanna "having to talk to a friend instead of me is just what she needs. I know she will be just fine. Ash you keep up your good work in the pokemon contests and continue to help Dawn in best you can". "I will" said Ash.
Meanwhile Zoey and Dawn were talking to each other on a balcony. Zoey was saying that Ash was impressive with his Glaceon and Leafeon. "I was also impressed with Nando's skills, and before I thought that no one should compete in both contests and gyms. Seeing Ash's and Nando's skills has made me understand more that doing both can bring out the greatness in people". Dawn was still upset that she lost in the first round, but Zoey told Dawn to stop that. "I was afraid that I would probably lose in the 1st round too, and when that will happen I hug my pokemon and I feel a lot better". "You are so smart Zoey" said Dawn, starting to feel a little bit better. "Today was a great experience for me," said Zoey "and losing to Ash again in a battle round has made me understand I still have to work hard more and of course you do too Dawn". Dawn could see that Zoey was right again. The boys, who just arrived at that time, were happy to see Dawn cheering up a bit with Zoey talking to her.
So Ash won his second contest ribbon and Dawn went through her first appeal round loss. The only thing the gang could look forward to now was the Hearthome tag battle tournament.
Sorry for the long wait; work keeps me busy and summer is the busiest time at where I work. So I may end up rather late with updating during July and August. I decided to do a four on four pokemon battle at Battle Hall instead of the usual three on three, and I figured that it would have used same type pokemon style in the anime like the games. Ash's special seals are based on the unobtainable seals in the games. I have no idea what the seals would do in the anime so I just thought that the burst seal would small fiery explosions.
