Thanks to Bristlefrost for the review! :)

I thought we could use something a little more light-hearted after the last chapter.

ENJOY!

No 20. Lost (365 words)

"So... we are lost?" Bree quipped unimpressed, interrupting her brother's rant. Chase let out an indignant huff.

"No! I am just currently unable to pinpoint our exact location."

"So we're lost."

"Can't you do something useful instead of complaining," Chase grumbled, still trying to get the GPS to work. Bree just smirked.

"I am, I'm telling you we are lost."

"Really helpful..."

"Which is bad," Bree's face fell slightly, worry pulling her brow together as she glanced over at their older brother. "Because I think Adam might have a concussion."

Chase looked over as well, his own face pulled tight. The cut on Adam's forehead had stopped bleeding since its abrupt meeting with the stone, but he looked... lost.

"Can you at least find, I don't know, where to go? Somewhere there's actually something?" Bree asked, kicking the sand at her feet. Chase sighed, shaking his head sadly.

"Not really, it's all just- ugh!" he gave a frustrated kick of his own. "What about you?"

"Nope, my bionics are all bonkers too."

"Great... We're stuck in the middle of nowhere, nothing works, Adam's hurt and we have no idea which direction to go."

"Why don't we ask the aliens?"

"The- what?!" Bree exclaimed as both she and Chase stared at Adam. Adam made a clumsy gesture to something behind them. As she turned to look, Bree did not see any little green men, or anything else out of the ordinary that could be the alleged aliens – she didn't see much of anything, really.

"Hey, is that... lights?" Chase asked, pointing at a spot further to the... west? North? Bree honesty had no idea. At first she didn't see anything there either – she was just about to accuse Chase of being just as delusional as their concussed brother – then see saw it too.

"Lights means people, right?"

"Lights means something at least," Chase agreed. "See, I told you we weren't lost."

Bree huffed, though as they hauled Adam up between them and started towards the potential rescue, she decided to let him have this one. At least until they got back home and she could tell Leo how Chase got them all lost in the desert.
