Inner thoughs of the Bride and Groom
Authors Note: I'm so sorry folks for it being so long on updates. It's been a crazy 5 years. Moved so much, diagnosed with diabetes (almost dying in the process), divorce, a wreck and moving again, depression, outpatient ER visits for a week straight. Heartbreak followed as well as estrangement from family and lonliness and a 2nd illness (pneumonia with staph infection) that almost killed me. Met a wonderful man and married and things are looking up. Sorry for long explanation but I never forgot you all. Just lost motivation for a while. On to the story. I don't own Trixie Belden but if I did I'd make her age faster lol.
It had been 3 months since Jim and Trixie had talked about eloping. They had never actually finished the conversation. While they knew it was their wedding and their special day, they wanted everyone they loved to celebrate with them.
Surprisingly, despite their heated tempers, they didn't even argue. They were both nervous sure, but confident and sure in what they were doing. Both were working in order to save up. They knew that a wedding wasn't just about one day. It was about marriage to each other and the rest of their lives. Trixie, from seeing her parents and Jim, from seeing his adoptive parents everyday, knew that it was going to take a lot of work. They were more than willing. Believe it or not, they had gone to pre-wedding counseling and financial counseling as well. Both of them agreed it was a good idea to start saving up money for after the wedding and to start planning a budget. They were both college students and even though Jim had his inheritance, they both wanted him to use that money for his Boys' school.
These days, Jim's mind was full of his school, which he was always dreaming about, making plans, and even looking for locations to place it, as well as school and life with Trixie. His Shamus was amazing. Planning a wedding, working, and still finding time to ride the Wheeler's horses as well as hanging out with her family and friends. The only thing that she hadn't done, to his surprise (and veryone else's), was get involved in a mystery. Thinking back on it though, Trixie hadn't had been involved in a new mystery in a year. She still loved to help out people but now she did it in a quieter and calmer manner. How he loved that women. He looked forward to life with her.
As for Trixie herself, she didn't mind not having any mysteries to solve right now. She was simply focusing on the here and now, taking it one day at a time. Honey had actually rubbed off on her and helped her to slow down and not rush things. Not to say she didn't get excited anymore; she really and truly did, especially when it came to her marriage to James Winthrop Frayne III. She was just handling it better. She had grown into the grace and maturity of her mother Helen Belden. She didn't know where she'd be without her mom's advice and the help of her 2 best friends Honey and Diana. And she had gotten closer to Jane too. After solving a mystery together, Jane and Trixie had sat down and talked everything out and while it didn't happen all at once, their friendship had slowly become stronger over the years. Jane was coming to the wedding with Dan, while Honey and Brian were together. They weren't engaged yet but everyone could see it coming. Di and Mart, Trixie's 11 month older twin, actually finally took the blinders off and started dating. They both were in denial for the longest time but now everyone could see how happy they were. Trixie just smiled and shook herself awake. "Enough daydreaming," she said, "you've got a Bridal party to plan." They had decided to just have one big get together so everyone could celebrate together.
Unknown to Trixie, her mother, 3 friends, and Mrs. Wheeler, as well as Diana's mom Mrs. Lynch, were planning a surprise party for Jim and Trixie.
Hope you all enjoyed. It was more of a filler chapter with their thoughts really. Getting back into this slowly. Sorry for any typos. This computer has a mind of it's own. I'll be typing and it'll just hop up into any other part of the story and insert the words there lol. I'm trying to finish this story today.
