Bridal Party

AN: despite being an avid Trixie fan, I haven't read her books in a while but I don't believe it ever mentions Di Lynches parents' names. I know the Beldens are Peter and Helen and the Wheelers are Matthew and Madelaine. So, forgive me, but I'm making up her mother's name. If you actually know the name, please tell me and I'll correct it.

On the orders of Helen Belden, Grace Lynch, and Madelaine Wheeler, Jim and Trixie were kept busy in town so that they could get the finishing touches on their surprise Bridal Party done. Even Mr. Lytell was in on the secret. Bobby, completely different from the little boy that had wondered off and gotten bit by a snake, was in high school and chauferring them around. Of course, while he was better at keeping secrets, he still didn't want to see his only sister kissing in front of him. On that front he was the same. Anyways, at that moment, he and Mr. Lytell were busy distracting Trixie and Jim with the online catalogue that Mr. Lytell had recently (and reluctantly) installed into his store. He hated change just like anyone, but even he had to admit that it helped bring in business. The phone rang as they were poring over front porch decor. Mr. Lytell picked it up. "Lytell's," he answered. "We're ready came the breathless voice of Honey." "Okay, thank you for letting me know, I'll put that in now," he replied using the answer as a way to cover up what was going on. He gave the signal to Bobby who then turned to the happy couple. "Hey Trix, Moms sent a text and wants us back at the house. Before you ask, she didn't say what but she did want us to get there as soon as we could." Distracted, his sister just nodded and pulled Jim along to the car.

Bobby drove them to their home, Crabapple Farm. "I wonder what all these cars are here for," Trixie said. "Probably something to do with a party mom or dad are throwing," answered Jim. "You know how they love parties." Trixie smiled because she really did know. She had been to some. Nowadays, Madelaine didn't throw as many because she felt it took away time from her family, but every now and then she still had one so all the friends could hang out.

They pulled up to the house and walked up to the front door. "Bobby, Trixie, Jim, is that you," their mom called out? "Just come on around to the back yard. Still not suspecting a thing, which was unusuall for the girl detective, Trixie and Jim were surprised to the point of speechlessness, when everyone jumped and yelled, "Happy Wedding Day!" The family wanted to do something different than yelling "surprise" or even "congratulations. After all, Trixie was unlike anyone they had ever know and the wedding was in less than a week.

Once they got over their shock and surprise, everyone gathered around them and hugged the couple. Mart even let them go in front of him in the line to get food, which for Mart, was a big thing since everyone knew his love and food and super fast metabolism. Everyone got their food and settled in. An hour later, everyone was done eating. It was like an old fashioned cookout complete with brownies and cookies for dessert. It was time for presents.

I won't get into the descriptions of what everyone got them. I ask that you use your imagination please.

All in all it was a very happy and successful day. The mothers were all glowing with pride over how it had turned out. Since it was Saturday and late, Trixie stayed in her old room at the house as did Jim at the manor. Despite their heads buzzing with excitement, they were both out as soon as their heads hit their pillows.
