Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 132
The Wallace Cup
It was about five days before the Wallace Cup and the gang couldn't wait for it. But first they had a surprise to sort through first. The mysterious call Ash got from the pokemon center was from May. May was visiting Sinnoh because she wanted to enter the Wallace Cup too. Right now the gang were waiting for her to arrive at the docks at the Lakeside Resort at Lake Valor. "This is exciting" said Dawn, who couldn't wait to meet May.
Suddenly a Delibird flew down in front of the gang. "What's this pokemon?" asked Dawn. "A Delibird" answered Brock.
Dawn looked at it on her pokedex: Delibird, the delivery pokemon. It carries food rolled up in its tail. It has the habit of sharing food with people lost in mountains.
"Hey Brock you don't suppose" said Ash. Before Ash could think, a boat arrived and May was on it. "Hello Ash, Tomo and Brock, it's been such a long time," said May, once she was off the boat. "It sure has" said Brock. "So that Delibird is yours May?" asked Tomo. "Yes it is I caught it while I was in Johto," said May, returning Delibird back into its pokeball, "and I also caught a Cleffa and an Igglybuff in Johto too". "Wow it sounds like you are doing well in Johto" said Ash. "Well kind of," said May "and I hear Ash that not are you working with pokemon contests and gym battles, I heard for doing the Battle Frontier here in Sinnoh right?" "That's right so I'm going through an awful lot" said Ash.
Dawn was happy to have met May; Ash, Tomo and Brock had told her a lot about May. "They say you are called the princess of Hoenn like Ash is the prince of Kanto" Dawn said to May. "Oh come on its embarrassing" said May, embarrassingly. "So May you said on our phone call that you were going to compete in the Wallace Cup too" said Ash. "That's right," said May "when I heard the Wallace Cup was being held here in Sinnoh I came here as fast as I could". "I am not surprised" said Brock. "So how's Max doing?" asked Ash "I hear he has started his pokemon journey now since he turned ten years old just two months ago". "He has and he loves it," said May "he has already started collecting gym badges and he's caught a few new normal type pokemon too. From what I last heard he has two Teddiursas, two Meowths, two Sentrets and two Aipoms. He also has Seedot and Wynaut". "Wow, so Max is doing well" said Ash. "I take it he still wishes to take over your dad's job as gym leader?" asked Brock. "Yep and dad of course is proud with that" said May. "So May have you caught any Sinnoh pokemon yet?" asked Tomo.
Tomo got his answer. May released a Glaceon from a pokeball. "Is that your Eevee?" asked Tomo. May explained the reason she went to Snowpoint City first was because of the icy rock in Snowpoint City so she could evolve her Eevee to Glaceon. "Yes Gary told me about that when he evolved my Eevees into Glaceon and Leafeon for me," said Ash "and we saw the moss rock in Eterna Forest where you evolve Eevees to Leafeons". May thought that was nice. "Oh and apart from Glaceon I also caught this pokemon in Snowpoint City" said May. She released a Lopunny from a pokeball. "Wow where did you get that from?" asked Dawn. "You won't believe this but I caught this while I was in Snowpoint City," said May "this Lopunny was lost wondering around in the snow and I took it to the pokemon center to warm up". "It's a good thing you did," said Brock "Lopunny would have frozen to death if you didn't help it". "Yes, well after Lopunny warmed up I caught her for my own. So I'll be going back to Johto with two new Sinnoh pokemon". "That's great" said Dawn. "So Dawn have you earned any Johto ribbons yet?" asked Ash. May opened up her new ribbon case, which was an orange one, and revealed 3 ribbons. "I must say though Drew and Harley and Solana have grown stronger than ever and I can't seem to beat any of them" said May. "Never mind May," said Ash "remember this is your first time going on a journey alone. And I can tell that you are working hard without any of us there to help you". "Thank you Ash" said May.
May told Dawn that she heard everything about her two first round losses in pokemon contests from Ash and Brock and Tomo. "Chin up though Dawn," said May "it has been one disaster after another for me ever since I got to Johto. So I'm competing in the Wallace Cup to help me get back into the contest track. Let's both make this our come back stage". Dawn agreed with that plan because she too thought the Wallace Cup would help her get back into pokemon contests. Just then Ash and Tomo began to feel hungry. "Would you mind if we go and get something to eat?" asked Tomo. "Yes we can," said May, who also started to feel hungry, "actually I made reservations for us at a restaurant. So let's go".
The restaurant May made her reservations for was called the Seven Stars Restaurant. It was the most famous restaurant in all of Sinnoh. "You really know how to find the best places to eat May" said Brock, remembering how May kept on finding good places to eat in Hoenn. The gang were greeted by the Maître d of the restaurant when they entered. Suddenly a young trainer came out. "I will train some more and eat here even if it's the last thing I do" he said, and he exited the restaurant. "What was that about?" asked Tomo.
The Maître d explained that the owner of the restaurant loved to battle, so the rule at the restaurant is; people had to battle the owner and his fiancée in a tag or double battle and win if they wanted to eat in the restaurant, and if they lost they wouldn't be allowed to eat. So the trainer just now lost his battle and he wasn't allowed to eat in the restaurant. But people were always allowed to try again after they trained some more if they lost. The owner, Roman, and his fiancée, Kylie, introduced themselves to the gang. "Now since there are five of you," said Maître d "would you mind that four of you did a tag battle and one of you did a double battle?" The gang agreed with that and Ash and Tomo and Dawn and May would do the tag battles while Brock would do a double battle.
Ash and Tomo were to go first and they took their places with Roman and Kylie on the battle field. Roman and Kylie sent out a Munchlax and Snorlax to battle. Ash and Tomo sent out Pikachu and Growlithe to battle. Roman ordered Snorlax to use mega punch on Pikachu and Kylie ordered Munchlax to use rollout on Growlithe. Ash ordered Pikachu to counter with volt tackle and Tomo ordered Growlithe to counter with flame wheel. The four pokemon collided with each other and Munchlax and Snorlax were thrown back. Pikachu and Growlithe were stronger than Munchlax and Snorlax. "Okay Pikachu thunderbolt on Snorlax" said Ash. "You use flamethrower on Munchlax Growlithe" said Tomo. Munchlax and Snorlax got hit by Pikachu's and Growlithe's attacks and they fainted. So Ash and Tomo were the winners of the battle and they were allowed to go and eat, but Ash and Tomo wanted to watch the others battle too.
Brock was up next. Roman sent out a Lickitung and Kylie sent out a Clefairy. Brock sent out Sudowoodo and Nuzleaf to battle. Roman ordered his Lickitung to use lick on Nuzleaf and Kylie ordered Clefairy to use metronome on Sudowoodo. Clefairy's metronome attack turned out to be razor leaf but Sudowoodo used mimic to counter the attack with razor leaf. Nuzleaf dodged Lickitung's tongue with quick attack. Then Brock ordered Sudowoodo to use hammer arm on Lickitung and Nuzleaf to use brick break on Clefairy. Lickitung and Clefairy were hit hard by Sudowoodo's and Nuzleaf's attacks and they fainted. Brock was allowed to eat but he wanted to watch Dawn's and May's battle too along with Ash and Tomo.
Then it was May's and Dawn's turn to battle at last. Roman sent out a Girafarig and Kylie sent out a Drifloon. Dawn sent out her Piplup and May sent out her Blaziken. Dawn started off by telling Piplup to use bubblebeam and May ordered Blaziken to use blaze kick. But Drifloon spun around like a propeller and deflected the bubbles and grabbed onto Piplup with constrict, and Girafarig dodged Blaziken's attack and then bit Blaziken on the leg with crunch. Dawn ordered Piplup to use whirlpool which not only freed Piplup from Drifloon, it also caught both Drifloon and Girafarig in the whirlpool. May told Dawn to use bubble beam again because she had an idea. While Piplup did bubble beam, Blaziken used fire spin; they used the fusion of fire and water. It made Ash, Brock and Tomo surprised of seeing that move again; it had been a long time since the last saw it. Girafarig and Drifloon fainted from the attack, making Dawn and May the winners.
So since all five members of the gang won they were all allowed to eat in the restaurant. The gang were happy and had delicious meals.
The night the gang were looking out over a balcony at a hotel they were staying in. They were looking at Lake Valor and the stadium where the Wallace Cup was being held. "Hey Ash do you still have your half of the Terracotta Ribbon?" asked May. "Oh yes" said Ash. He took out his half from his backpack and May took her half out of hers. Ash and May explained to Dawn about the Terracotta Town contest and about they cut the ribbon in half because of their draw. Dawn showed May the ribbon her mother gave her. "Well Dawn and May," said Ash "let's give it our all in the Wallace Cup". "Let's" said May "and no going soft just because we're friends". "Of course" replied Ash. The Wallace Cup was something to look forward to.
The day before the Wallace Cup a festival with lots of stalls was being held at Lake Valor. May, Brock and Tomo were enjoying themselves at the festival with the food and game stalls. But Dawn wasn't exactly enjoying herself; the truth is she was worried about entering the contest because of her recent losses.
Meanwhile Ash was signing up for the contest, when suddenly Zoey turned up. "So you and Dawn are entering the Wallace Cup too huh Ash?" asked Zoey. "Of course," said Ash "who wouldn't enter a contest hosted by the contest master Wallace?" "Absolutely" smiled Zoey; she was entering the Wallace Cup too. Just then Tomo, Brock, Dawn and May turned up. May and Zoey introduced themselves to each other. Dawn was happy to know Zoey was going to enter the Wallace Cup as well.
At that time Jessie, James and Meowth were checking out the festival. "So what are we doing here at Lake Valor?" asked Meowth. "In case you've forgotten Meowth the Wallace Cup, held by the Hoenn Champion Wallace, is going to be here" said Jessie. "Oh so are we going to take his pokemon?" asked Meowth. "Don't be stupid Meowth," said James "you know fully well it's impossible for us to ever steal a champion's pokemon. Last time we tried that we got blasted off in a second". "Okay so what are we here for then?" said Meowth. "It's because I, as reporter Jessadia, had been asked by Marian to broadcast in the Wallace Cup and have news reports with the coordinators" said Jessie. "Wow," said Meowth "talk about a lucky break". "It is a lucky break especially for me, so don't you two dare let me down" said Jessie. "Of course not you leave the camera stuff to us" said James. "Let's do it" smiled Meowth.
The next day it was time for the Wallace Cup. Marian was just about to open the competition. In the seats were lots of people, who were Wallace's fans, wore the same white hat as Wallace.
In the waiting room all the coordinators were getting ready. Brock and Tomo stayed in the waiting room alone with the others. Ash was wearing a blackish- grey, white and red suit and a grey fedora hat to match. (The same outfit he wore in the anime of the Wallace Cup) May was wearing a pink top with a yellow heart on it with yellow border on the sleeves and neck, a peach-pink veil with a green gem on top, and a light purple long skirt with a piece of pink fabric at the waist and brown flip-flops with toe rings and a yellow necklace with a red heart. It made her look like an Arabian princess. Zoey was wearing a magenta red and white suit and Dawn was wearing the same dress she wore at the Hearthome contest. Dawn was acting all panicky and worried with her hair again. The truth is because of her two losses in the preliminary rounds, she was worried if she would able to still do a good job in the contest. May told her not to worry and even Piplup encouraged her not to worry, but Dawn was still not convinced.
Now it was time for the Wallace Cup to open. Wallace's Milotic appeared first by jumping out of the pool while using aqua ring. Then Wallace appeared onto the stage. All the fans were happy to see him and so were all the coordinators. Marian explained that Wallace was going to be a judge in the Wallace Cup along with Mr Contests, Mr Suziko and Nurse Joy. Then Marian showed off the contest ribbon called the Aqua Ribbon. The Aqua Ribbon had a big pin with a red spot and the ribbon was light green and white. "This ribbon not only counts as a win in Sinnoh," said Marian "it also counts as a win in Kanto, Johto and Hoenn too". That meant that the Aqua Ribbon would count as one of the five ribbons the coordinator needed to win for the grand festivals in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn or Sinnoh. (So if May won it the Aqua Ribbon would be her fourth ribbon to enter the grand festival in Johto)
In a stand James was filming everything too. "We must not leave anything out," said Jessie "especially the pokemon they show". "Don't you worry, I filmed at the Kanto grand festival" said James. "I feel this is going to be good" said Meowth.
It was now time for the performance stage to begin. May was up first and she sent out a Wartortle with a pink foamy seal. (Her Squirtle had evolved during her Johto journey). In Petalburg City, in Hoenn, Max who had come back home for a bit was watching May on TV along with Norman and Caroline. In Ecruteak City, in Johto, Solana, Drew and Harley were watching the Wallace Cup on TV too. May started off by telling Wartortle to use rapid spin, and he skipped across the water like a stone skipping on water. Then Wartortle used aqua tail and finished off the performance with a light water gun which created a rainbow. Wallace liked the performance and so did the other judges.
After Wartortle were a Chatot, a Vulpix, a Venomoth, a Sharpedo, a Cloyster and a Seaking. "These coordinators are doing well for themselves" said Meowth. "Yes they are wasting no time of showing off to Wallace" agreed James.
Next up was Zoey's turn and she revealed her newest pokemon; a Finneon. She sent it out with a flame seal. First Finneon used silver wind on the water, then Finneon glowed light green while using safeguard underwater. To finish it off Finneon used waterfall. Wallace and the judges liked the performance. May was impressed too. While all this was happening Dawn was becoming more and more nervous after every performance she saw.
Next up it was Ash's turn and he sent out Prinplup with a liquid seal. The liquid seal created a big splashy entrance. Prinplup started off by using surf and he rode on top of the surf like a real surfer. Then he dived into the wave and broke it apart with steel wing. Then Prinplup dived back into the water and then kept jumping out and in the water. (Like how real penguins jump in and out of water) To finish it off Prinplup used brine on the water. Wallace and the judges loved it.
In the waiting room Dawn was getting all panicky again because her turn was next up. "Come on Dawn calm down" said May. "But everyone did so well," said Dawn "I'm starting to think I will embarrass myself. Maybe I shouldn't have entered this contest after all". Piplup was getting cross at Dawn and shouted out. "Hey don't get snappy at me Piplup!" shouted Dawn "I'm doing the best I can here!" Piplup blew bubbles at here to get her to calm down. That snapped Dawn out of her nerviness and she thanked Piplup. Sawn headed towards the stage and met up with Ash. "You can do this Dawn, and don't even think that you have lost this yet" said Ash. "Thank you Ash" said Dawn.
Dawn was still giddy while on the stage but she calmly sent out Ambipom with a heart seal. Johanna was watching Dawn back in Twinleaf Town and Kenny was watching from another city. First Ambipom started off with double hit and she hit the hearts that surrounded her from the heart seal. Then Ambipom fired a swift attack at the water, creating a lot of splashes. To finish it off Ambipom punched the water with focus punch, creating two big waves. Wallace and the judges loved it. Now the preliminary round was over and the judges had to now choose who would get to the second round.
Dawn felt relieved that her turn was over. "You and Ambipom were wonderful out there Dawn," said May "I could see that Ambipom works wonderfully with you than she did with Ash". Dawn and Ash explained to May a while ago about their trade between Aipom and Buizel. "Yes thanks to Piplup you were relaxed and you had fun out there with Ambipom" said Zoey, who was happy that Dawn had realized her past mistakes. Dawn was still afraid of what the results would be, but she was happy to have good friends around her.
Then Marian announced of which 16 coordinators had made it to the battle rounds of the Wallace Cup. To Dawn's delight she made it to the second round along with May, Zoey and Ash. "You see Dawn I told you there was no need to worry" said May. Dawn was happy to have made it passed the preliminary rounds at last, but she couldn't get over confident now because there was still the battle stage to get through.
That night after the first round of the preliminary rounds Dawn, May and Zoey were having one of those chats between girls. Dawn was explaining to May about her mum being a top coordinator and how she always wanted to be the same as her. May explained about how she didn't really know what to do with pokemon at first but became hooked on contests when she first saw them. "Hey Dawn what are these rivals Drew and Harley like?" asked Dawn. "Well Harley is one of those jerks who plays tricks and makes fun of me," said May "as for Drew, well she sometimes acts like a jerk to me but there are times when he is nice and helps me out with things". "Oh well," said Zoey "he must be a nice guy then". "I agree with that" said Dawn, teasingly. "Hey what are you two getting at?" asked May. Thing was Dawn and Zoey were teasing May if she liked Drew, but of course May kept on denying it because of how much he liked to tease her.
Meanwhile Ash and Pikachu were outside the hotel looking at Lake Valor; he couldn't get to sleep and decided to go for a quick walk. "This huge lake sure looks mystifying doesn't it Pikachu" said Ash. Even Pikachu liked the view. Suddenly they noticed a little whirlpool I the water and then an invisible spirit came out of the lake. Ash and Pikachu watched in surprise as the invisible spirit flew around for a bit and it disappeared back into the lake. "What the?" gasped Ash. Pikachu was speechless.
Ash and Pikachu quickly ran back to their room. "Brock, Tomo!" shouted Ash "I saw something like a ghost in Lake Valor!" "Woah slow down Ash," said Brock "and tell me again what you said, but slowly this time". The girls heard Ash's shouting and asked what was going on. Ash took a deep breath to calm down and told the others what he and Pikachu saw in Lake Valor. "Hey I went through something like that too," said Dawn "remember when I told you about the invisible spirit I saw at Lake Verity with Piplup?" "Oh yes I do" said Ash. "You know when I was in Snowpoint City I heard this amazing story there;" said May "around that area is a lake called Lake Acuity and there is rumours about a mysterious pokemon living there". "I've heard those rumours too because I'm from Snowpoint City," said Zoey "they say a mysterious pokemon appears in shadow from time to time. It's the same story for Lake Verity and Lake Valor too". Ash got up from his bed. "Please excuse me but I think I have an idea what the three mysterious pokemon are" he said. He got out a book from his backpack. "This book is about all the legendary pokemon in Sinnoh; I brought this sometime after we visited the Eterna Museum". He flipped through the book until he suddenly stopped. He found six pages in the book about three small pokemon; one was pink and grey-blue, one was blue and grey-blue and the last one was yellow and grey-blue. All three of them had two long tails with a red jewel at the end, and they all had red jewels on their foreheads. Ash showed the pages to the others. "It says they are called Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie and are said to be guardians to Lake Verity, Lake Valor and Lake Acuity" said Brock. "Ash do you suppose I saw Mesprit and you saw Azelf?" asked Dawn. "After looking at this book, yes" said Ash. Truth be told; after everything Ash as gone through with legendary pokemon, he would believe everything to do with legendary pokemon now. Dawn decided to talk about this with Prof Rowan first thing in the morning.
The next day it was time for the battle rounds at the Wallace Cup. The sixteen coordinators were waiting to know who they would be battling in the waiting room. Dawn felt a lot more relaxed and confident as she was in the battle stage. The results came up and Dawn was up first. "Oh I'm first" said Dawn. "Better than last;" said Ash "just still keep grabbing onto your confidence and you will be fine". Piplup agreed with Ash's words. "Okay see you later" said Dawn. She left Piplup with the others and left for the battle stage, which of course was the pool.
The first battle began and Dawn sent out her Clefairy with a pink heart seal. Her opponent sent out a Wailmer with a foamy seal. Wailmer started off with brine and Clefairy was thrown up and down in the air by the water. "Dance Clefairy" said Dawn. Clefairy used the energy from brine to jump and spin like she was dancing. Then Clefairy used bounce on Wailmer. The opponent ordered his Wailmer to use surf, but Clefairy spun really quick and created a spiral of water, stopping the surf from attacking her. "Clefairy magical leaf" said Dawn. Clefairy fired a magical leaf attack and the leaves hit Wailmer. (Clefairy learnt magical leaf when she was a Cleffa before Dawn caught her as Clefairy) Wailmer used hidden power next, but Clefairy dodged it and jumped onto Wailmer. The hidden power attack followed Clefairy and it ended up hitting Wailmer. "Now Clefairy use your hidden power" said Dawn. "Wailmer body slam" said Wailmer's trainer. Before Wailmer could do a body slam on Clefairy, Clefairy fired a hidden power attack, which was dark type, and it hit Wailmer. Suddenly the time was up and Dawn had more points than her opponent. She was the winner of the first round.
Dawn was happy with her win and she hugged Clefairy. Wallace and the judges were impressed with how the battle between Buneary and Wailmer turned out. "Dawn has definitely got her contest spirit back" said Ash. "I agree with you on that Ash" smiled Zoey.
The battles went on and on. Ash defeated his opponent's Kecleon with his Mothim, Zoey defeated her opponent's Mareep with her Shellos and May defeated her opponent's Exeggutor with her Skitty. When the 2nd battle round came with only eight coordinators left, Dawn easily defeated her opponent's Pelipper with her Pachirisu.
Then it was Ash's turn and he was up against a boy named Kyle. Ash called out his Buizel with an ele-seal which released lightning bolts. Kyle sent out a Lanturn with a party seal. Ash knew it would be easy with Lanturn as an opponent being an electric and water type, but he and Buizel had practiced with going against electric type pokemon with Pikachu and Luxio. Kyle started off by telling Lanturn to use charge. "Buizel, Lanturn's electric attacks will be strong than normal now" said Ash. He had told Buizel about this before. "Buizel iron tail on the water". Buizel struck the water hard with iron tail and Lanturn got knocked out of the water. It was then Lanturn got ready to use thunderbolt. "Now Buizel!" shouted Ash. Buizel stood on his two front paws, lifted his tail in the air and made his tail glow white with iron tail. The thunderbolt attack did hit Buizel but didn't cause a lot of damage to him. Then Buizel struck Lanturn with iron tail hard. Ash and Kyle were equal in points now. "I'll have you know Kyle I learnt how to help my water and flying type pokemon deal with electric attacks" said Ash. "I can see you have," said Kyle "you certainly haven't disappointed me using a water type against my Buizel". Ash didn't like the comment, but he wasn't going to let that crush him. Kyle ordered Lanturn to use ice beam. "Got for it Buizel, spin and use aqua jet" said Ash. Buizel spun around while using aqua jet and headed for the ice beam attack. Buizel got covered in an ice armor but he was still going. This was the fusion move ice aqua jet Dawn tried to work with Buizel when she had him. But now Buizel had perfected thanks to Ash's touch. Everyone was amazed by that move including Wallace and Kyle. Kyle ordered Lanturn to use thunderbolt, but Buizel dodged it and tackled Lanturn hard while still in the ice armor. Lanturn fought back with hydro pump and Buizel got hit by hit. "Use swift Buizel" said Ash. Buizel fired a lot of stars and Lanturn got hit by them. Suddenly time was up. It nearly looked like that Ash and Kyle were tied, but Kyle had just slightly more points than Ash. So Kyle was the winner of the battle.
Ash called Buizel over to him. "You did wonderfully out there, especially since this was your first contest battle" he said to Buizel. Buizel was happy with the praise despite the loss. Wallace and the judges were impressed with how the battle between Buizel and Lanturn turned out, especially Ash's ice aqua jet move. The rest of the battles went on. Zoey defeated her opponent's Mothim with her Misdreavus and May defeated her opponent's Azuril with her Venasaur. (Her Bulbasaur evolved to Ivysaur and then to Venasaur during the Johto journey) The day ended with revealing the semi-finals were going to be tomorrow and Dawn would face Kyle and Zoey would face May.
That night Tomo apologized to his brother for not beating Kyle. "You certainly perfected that ice aqua jet move Ash, a lot better than I did" said Dawn. "Kyle was a strong opponent I must admit;" said Ash "you better watch out since you're battling him tomorrow Dawn". Dawn knew that she would have to watch out with battling Kyle, she also knew that if she got to the finals she would have to face Zoey or May. "The final battle is going to be an interesting one" said Zoey. The others agreed.
The next day was the final day of the Wallace Cup where the semi-final battle and the final battle was to take place. Dawn and Kyle were to battle first. Ash was back in his normal clothes. "Kyle won't make this easy for Dawn like he didn't for me" he said. "Yes but let's see what he'll do this time" said Brock. Dawn released her Piplup with a foamy seal and Kyle released a Crawdaunt with a line seal.
Dawn started off by telling Piplup to use bubblebeam, but Crawdaunt countered it with sludge bomb. Dawn ordered Piplup to get into the pool and Kyle told Crawdaunt to do the same. "Okay Piplup whirlpool" said Dawn. Crawdaunt got sucked into the whirlpool. "Use surf Crawdaunt" said Kyle. Crawdaunt's surf attack broke the whirlpool apart and hit Piplup. "Now dark pulse" Kyle told Crawdaunt. Crawdaunt fired a dark pulse attack, but Piplup used the spin to dodge in between the attack. "Piplup use bide" said Dawn. While storing energy to use bide, Piplup also stored up energy from Crawdaunt's dark pulse attack while he was still spinning. "Dawn and her pokemon really know what to do with the spin" said Ash. "Well she is the one who came up with it" reminded Brock. Kyle ordered Crawdaunt to use crab hammer, but Piplup hit Crawdaunt with bide along with the energy he stored up from the dark pulse attack. Suddenly time was up and Dawn was the winner.
Dawn was happy with her victory, especially since she was going to the final round. After all it had been a long time since she last did that. Wallace and the judges were impressed by the battle between Piplup and Crawdaunt. "Well May it's our turn to battle now" said Zoey. "I can't wait" said May.
Zoey and May took their places on the stage. May sent out Beautifly with a flora seal and Zoey sent out Glameow with an ele-seal. May started off with silver wind and the attack hit Glameow. Glameow jumped to get out of the way and moved in with shadow claw, but Beautifly dodged before Glameow could hit it. Then Glameow hit the water with shadow claw and the water created a curtain of water which trapped Beautifly. "Glameow shock wave" said Zoey. Glameow released shock wave while it was still in the water and the attack hit Beautifly. "Wow Zoey sure knows how to use a battle field whether it'd be a water field or any other field" said Tomo. The others were impressed too. Even May admitted that Zoey was one tough coordinator; she even thought Zoey's skills could match Drew and Solana's skills. Zoey ordered Glameow to use iron tail next. "Beautifly use silver wind" said May. Beautifly's silver wind attack hit the water, creating a shield of water which put Glameow off. Then Beautifly struck Glameow with psychic. "Morning sun Beautifly" said May. Beautifly's morning sun attack helped Beautifly recover. "Wow May and Beautifly are totally in sync out there" said Dawn. "Beautifly was May's main ace pokemon when she first started competing in pokemon contests" explained Brock. "Watching this is funny;" said Ash "I mean May started out with no clue with what she was doing in battles, but now she has become stronger when battling". "That's because she learnt a lot from us especially you Ash" chuckled Brock. Next Beautifly used aerial ace and Glameow countered it with shadow claw. Suddenly time was up and May had more points than Zoey, making her the winner.
May thanked Beautifly for her win. Glameow felt bad for the loss. "Cheer up Glameow, you were wonderful out there" said Zoey. Zoey was impressed with how good a coordinator May was. Wallace and the judges were impressed by the battle between Glameow and Beautifly. So it was Dawn and May that were going to battle in the finals. Dawn felt jittery again. "What's wrong Dawn?" asked Tomo. "It has been a long time since Dawn has been in the final round in a pokemon contest, and now she's up against the girl who defeated Zoey" said Brock. "I understand that," said Ash "but no backing out now". "Now why would I do that?" said Dawn. "Yeah?" said Zoey; she was back in the waiting room and back into her normal clothes. Zoey said she learnt a lot from that battle with May and she warned Dawn to be careful. "Don't worry I've come this far now" said Dawn.
Dawn and May took their places on the battle field. Ash, Tomo, Brock and Zoey sat in the stadium seats. Johanna, Norman, Caroline, Max, Drew, Harley, Solana and Kenny were eagerly waiting to see how this battle will turn out. Dawn sent out Piplup with a foamy seal and May sent Glaceon out with a party seal. "Glaceon looks stronger now than it was as an Eevee" said Brock. "It would be good to see how Glaceon will battle in this" said Ash. Piplup started off with bubblebeam, but Glaceon dodged it and used secret power. Piplup got tackled and since Glaceon did it on stage Piplup was paralyzed. Glaceon used ice shard next and Piplup got hit by some of the shards. "Quick in the pool" Dawn told Piplup. Piplup rolled into the water and the water helped Piplup recover from paralysation. Once Piplup came out he used brine, but Glaceon knew mirror coat and it reflected the damage back at Piplup. Piplup wasn't down yet though. "Bubble beam go" said Dawn. Piplup blew bubble beam and Glaceon got hit by the bubbles. May ordered Glaceon to use shadow ball next, but Piplup used the spin to dodge the attack. "Secret power Glaceon" said May. She planned to make Piplup get paralyzed again, but this time it didn't work on Piplup. "Alright then Glaceon use shadow ball" said May. Glaceon fired a shadow ball attack, but Piplup countered the attack with bubble beam and then the bubbles attacked Glaceon next. "Piplup use peck" said Dawn. Glaceon dodged before Piplup could peck it. "Now ice shard Glaceon" said May. "Use whirlpool Piplup" said Dawn. Piplup used his whirlpool attack as a shield to protect himself from Glaceon's ice shard attack. Piplup did whirlpool again and rode on it like a surf board. Glaceon fought back and it broke the whirlpool attack, but Piplup dodged it and attacked with bubblebeam. Glaceon attacked back with ice shard and Piplup got hit by the attacks. Things were getting intense between May and Dawn by the second. Dawn decided to go in with a big attack and she ordered Piplup to use whirlpool. Glaceon used mirror coat to deflect the attack and of course both Glaceon and Piplup were hurt by whirlpool. Suddenly time was up. May and Dawn looked at the scoreboard nervously for results. Ash, Brock, Tomo and Zoey were nervous too, and so were Johanna, Norman, Caroline, Max, Drew, Harley, Solana and Kenny. The result was Dawn was the winner of the battle and Wallace Cup.
Dawn couldn't believe she won and she cried and hugged Piplup in happiness. May petted Glaceon, telling him he did well, and congratulated Dawn. The judges were impressed by the battle between Piplup and Glaceon. In Twinleaf Town Johanna was congratulating her daughter for her win.
Now came the winning ceremony. "That was wonderful," Wallace said to Dawn "you displayed true elegance out there. A lovely ending to a lovely contest, thank you. Dawn you are truly a coordinator of the highest order. I'm privileged to present you the Aqua Ribbon for your win". Milotic used aqua ring and the Aqua Ribbon floated to Dawn. Dawn was very happy to have earned another contest ribbon at last. Everyone clapped and cheered for Dawn. "Dawn is truly back on her feet now" said Ash. Dawn did her winning pose along with Piplup, Clefairy, Pachirisu and Ambipom. Wallace was happy with how the Wallace Cup turned out and hoped to hold another Wallace Cup tournament in Sinnoh in the future again. Milotic used hydro pump to close the ceremony; the Wallace Cup was now over.
That evening May was ready to leave Sinnoh and get back to Johto at the docks. She and Dawn shook hands with each other. "It felt wonderful having to go against you in a pokemon contest May" said Dawn. "Same here Dawn," said May "and the next time we meet I will win". "Hey that's my line" said Zoey; she hoped to beat May the next time she ever faced her. "Dawn and Zoey good luck with all of your upcoming contests" said May. "Good luck with the rest of your Johto journey May," said Ash "and say hi to Drew and Solana for me". "I will Ash," said May "oh and good luck with your upcoming contests, upcoming gym battles and upcoming battle facilities". She and Ash shook hands. Then May got onto the boat for Johto and waved goodbye to everyone. Everyone waved back till May was out of sight.
So Dawn had finally broken her losing streak and gotten her contest spirit back thanks to her win of the Wallace Cup. The Wallace Cup tournament was something the gang was never going to forget.
I'm sorry if people wanted Ash to lose in the semi-finals, but no I preferred it being Dawn vs Kyle and May vs Zoey. I can't believe the anime never gave May any Johto pokemon; she had been in Johto for quite a while so you would think she would have captured new pokemon while in Johto. I decided to have Max watch May back at Petalburg City rather than anywhere else. I will also reveal more of his journey in a later chapter. Don't know which chapter yet but I will do it. Since as you all already know Ash looks up legendary pokemon in my story, which is why I decided have him look up about Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie in a legendary pokemon book now, despite its way earlier than how they found out about them in the anime. Now I was going to have Ash win the pokemon contest in Majolica Town, but I'm starting to think that he gets the fifth pokemon ribbon in Neighborly Town which Johanna judges. What do you all think?
