Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 136
The Pokemon Summer Academy
One day the gang were running in a panic. "We are going to be late!" shouted Ash. "This is because Dawn was messing about with her bedhead!" shouted Tomo. "Hey don't put the blame on me!" shouted Dawn. "We have to hurry!" shouted Brock. The gang continued to run till they ran through a gate. "Phew we made it at last" sighed Ash. "But you are still late" said a voice. It was from Prof Rowan. "I welcome you to the ruin research facility on Mt Coronet or, for purposes, your school". Thing is once a year in summer Prof Rowan and his assistants ran a pokemon summer school, like a pokemon summer camp, for a week at one of Prof Rowan's research facilities at Mt Coronet. So the gang were taking a break of their journey to join in the pokemon summer academy.
At this academy the students who attended it would split up into three teams; a red team, a blue team and a green team. During the week the students take part in different activities and earn points for their achievements. And by the end of the week you find out which team has the most points and wins the whole competition. Prof Rowan's assistant Yuzo told everyone to look at the black board to see which team they would be in. As it turns out Ash, Tomo, Dawn and Brock were all in the red team. There was a little surprise for the gang. Conway, who they met at the Hearthome tag team tournament, was attending the pokemon summer academy too and he was in the blue team.
"I have to say it feels a bit strange attending a school again; I haven't been at school since I was nine years old" said Ash. "Same here" said Brock. "This is my first time going to school" said Tomo. Ranger Jenny taught Tomo to read and write and other things when he lived with her so he never went to school like other kids. "You'll be alright Tomo," said Ash "just pay close attention to the lessons and if you do have trouble with something just ask a teacher; they are always there to help a student. And do not yawn when you get to a boring lesson; teachers absolutely hate that". "Got it" said Tomo.
Prof Rowan and his assistants welcomed all the students to the academy. Then they explained what the first activity at the academy was. The students were to have a pokemon battle with each other, but not with their pokemon. The activity was the students were to team up with the pokemon they were given. One of Prof Rowan's assistants presented a box filled with pokeballs. No one knew what pokemon they were getting so each student just had to pick.
Tomo made a grab for a pokeball, but someone else grabbed it too; it was a girl with short green hair and she looked very tomboyish. "Excuse me but I got to this pokeball first" said Tomo. "Oh really," said the girl "I take you don't know the rule about it being ladies first". "What, you're a girl?" said Tomo. The girl looked so tomboyish Tomo didn't recognize her as a girl. "The name is Angie," said the girl "and I challenge you to a battle". Tomo didn't like Angie's rude attitude and accepted the challenge. But Prof Rowan reminded them they were to bond with the pokemon they picked out. Angie's pokemon turned out to be an orangey monkey type pokemon with a flame on its tail.
Tomo looked at the pokemon on his pokedex: Monferno, the playful pokemon. The evolved form of Chimchar. It uses ceilings and walls to launch aerial attacks. Its fiery tail is but one weapon.
"Cool so my Chimchar will evolve to that huh?" said Tomo. Angie said hi to Monferno, but it looked away; it was a moody type pokemon. Tomo and Growlithe thought it was a bit funny. Tomo tossed his pokeball and his chosen pokemon was a Raichu. Tomo said hello to it but Raichu dug into the ground; it was a shy type. Angie thought this was funny; Tomo and Angie had hit a rough start with each other.
Ash released his mysterious pokemon next and it was a Smoochum. "Hi Smoochum" said Ash. Smoochum looked at Ash and kissed him on the cheek and then it gave Pikachu a kiss on the cheek too. "I guess Smoochum likes us Pikachu" chuckled Ash. Dawn's pokemon was a Grimer. Of course the other students didn't like Grimer because of its scary and disgusting nature. But Dawn told Grimer she thought it was cute and Grimer happily gave her a hug. Brock's pokemon was a Magnemite and Brock was happy with that.
Angie had trouble with her Monferno; it was running around like crazy and it tried to pick a fight with a student's Croconaw. Growlithe jumped in to stop Monferno from causing any more trouble, but Monferno didn't listen and hit Growlithe with ember. Of course being a fire type himself Growlithe wasn't hurt much by the ember attack, but he was angry with Monferno and used leer which made Monferno back off in fear. "Hey don't treat my Monferno like that!" shouted Angie. She took out a pokeball and released a Shinx; it was her own pokemon. "Hey!" shouted Tomo, who saw everything, "my Growlithe was only stopping your Monferno from causing any more trouble than it already is!" He and Angie glared at each other, but then Prof Rowan came over and angrily stopped them. Tomo told him what had happened, but Prof Rowan stopped him again. He explained the pokemon battles would take place tomorrow and hoped everyone would get along with the pokemon. Tomo and Angie still stared at each other, claiming it was the other's fault.
In the class room the students were getting to know about the pokemon they had picked out. Ash was checking out Smoochum's moves and stroking her on the head. Pikachu liked playing with Smoochum. Dawn was checking out Grimer's moves, giving it some poffins and practiced some poses with it. Brock was giving Magnemite a boost of electricity from static electricity. Tomo was checking out Raichu's moves and having a chat with it to help it gain some confidence. Growlithe spoke with Raichu too. Angie however was still having trouble with her Monferno; it still liked to pick fights with Croconaw. The worst was it blew ember attacks at Angie and it ended up hitting Growlithe again. "Take that Monferno outside will you!" shouted Tomo, who was getting fed up with Monferno's attitude. "Excuse me but you are not my father" replied Angie. She and Tomo were about to have another argument, but Yuzo stopped them and made them run laps outside as punishment. "Thanks a lot Angie" said Tomo, while they were running. "What was that?!" Angie argued back. As much as they wanted to fight each other, what they wanted now was to finish their punishment and go have their lunch because they were hungry. Luckily for them Ash and Brock saved them some lunch.
After lunch there were games like tug of war and ball games. Next there were classes run by Yuzo. Tomo did what Ash told him and paid attention to what Yuzo was saying. To Tomo it felt very different to learn at school rather than learn from home like he did when he lived with Ranger Jenny.
Hours later it was time for all the students to be asleep, but Ash, Dawn, Brock and Tomo, who were sharing a room together, couldn't get to sleep yet. So they decided to talk and play cards. "School is more challenging than I thought it was" said Tomo. "Well this is a good start for you Tomo," said Brock "remember you'll be going to a ranger school as you want to become a pokemon ranger, and that will be challenging". "But you'll be fine Tomo," said Ash "just remember to always pay in attention in classes like you did today and study hard. And remember to always ask a teacher for help if you're stuck with something". "And also try not to argue with anyone like you do with Angie" said Dawn. "Hey that wasn't my fault, she's the one who started it" said Tomo. "You know Prof Rowan told me that her parents run a day care center at Solaceon Town" said Ash. "Really?" said Dawn "wow we were at Solaceon Town before and we didn't even know". "We'll visit it when we next past Solaceon Town" said Brock. Suddenly Yuzo opened their door and told them to go to sleep. The gang quickly got into their beds to not get into any more trouble and went to sleep.
The next day Tomo went outside to train Raichu before the pokemon battles. As Raichu was shy its attacks were not exactly that brilliant; even when using thunderbolt against a rock it was weak as a Pichu's thundershock attack. "Come on Raichu," said Tomo "I know you can do better than that". Raichu dug back into the ground in fright again. "Come on there's no need to be scared" said Tomo. He touched Raichu and Raichu electrified him. "There you see," said Tomo "if you are able to electrify me like that then I'm sure you can do more with your attacks. You just need to boost your confidence, come on we'll try it again". Raichu attacked a rock with focus punch and it broke the rock apart. "That's it!" cheered Tomo "You see Raichu if you build up confidence with attacking, like you just did, you'll beat any opponent when battling. Come on let's do some more".
What Tomo didn't know was Angie saw everything; Tomo's tactics made her want to take a shot with Monferno. She released Monferno from the pokeball. "Alright Monferno fire your ember attack at me," she said "hit me with all you got". Monferno fired an ember attack but Angie dodged it easily. "Come on is that all you got?" asked Angie "Put some energy into it". Monferno tried again but Angie still kept dodging the attack. Monferno got crosser and fired a more powerful ember attack and this time Angie got hit. "That's more like it," said Angie "that was showing me some real heat. Now come at me with your mach punch". Monferno tried to hit Angie with mach punch but Angie dodged it. "Two slow" she said. It was obvious she was playing it up with Monferno to bond with it.
A few moments later Angie and Tomo met up. "Whoa what happened to you?" Tomo said to Angie, who looked pretty beat up by now. "I could ask the same thing about you" said Angie; Tomo looked a bit beat up as well. After exchanging news Tomo and Angie raced each other with Monferno and Raichu. Ash, Brock and Dawn saw them race through a window. "Well, well, well," said Brock "it seems we are going to have competitions on our hands". Ash and Dawn agreed. Prof Rowan saw Tomo and Angie too and he seemed pleased that despite Tomo and Angie don't get along well; they have turned into formidable rivals.
Later that day it was time for the pokemon battles. Prof Rowan and his assistants were going to watch and judge the battles. Yuzo was to be the referee. The battles were to be timed. Ash and Brock were against each other first with Smoochum and Magnemite. "Alright Magnemite lets go with thunder" said Brock. "Use the spin to dodge it Smoochum" said Ash. Ash had taught Smoochum the spinning move with Pikachu's help so Smoochum was able to dodge the thunder attack with the spin. "Okay Smoochum show Magnemite your hidden power". Smoochum's hidden power type was ground so it was a super effect on Magnemite. Prof Rowan and his assistants were impressed. The match turned out to be a draw because of the time. After some other student's turns it was Conway and Dawn's turn. Dawn let out Grimer with a heart seal to give it a nice entrance. "Grimer use sludge" said Dawn. "Venonat psychic" said Conway. Conway's psychic attack moved the sludge attack straight back at Grimer. Dawn had Grimer use sludge gain and Conway had Venonat use psychic again, but Dawn had Grimer to poison gas which countered the sludge attack and hit Venonat. Venonat fought back with stun spore but Grimer countered it by spinning and using poison gas. Conway was impressed but he wasn't giving up and neither was Dawn. The match turned out to be a draw after the time was up. After some more students took their turns it was finally time for Tomo and Angie to battle each other. "Monferno mach punch go" said Angie. "Raichu use focus punch" said Tomo. The two punches collided with each other. "Flame wheel now" said Angie. "Use dig Raichu" said Tomo. Raichu dug into the ground just before Monferno could hit it with flame wheel. "Ember on that hole" said Angie. "Dodge and use thunderbolt" said Tomo. Raichu jumped out of hole, dodging the ember attack, and shocked Monferno with thunderbolt. Tomo and Angie gave each other a real hot heated battle. The result was a draw after time was up.
After the battles were over Prof Rowan gave a speech of what a wonderful job the students did with their bonding and battling with their new pokemon. Next he revealed that Dawn developed the most relationship with her pokemon Grimer. Last of all he revealed of how the points between the teams were going. The blue team was first, the green team was second and the red team was last. The reason why the red team was last was because Tomo and Angie's constant arguing yesterday caused the team to lose points.
Even though the gang's team was last there was time for them to catch up because there were still more activities at the pokemon summer academy to cover. This had been an exciting start at the pokemon summer academy.
Today was the third day of the pokemon summer academy and everyone was sitting by a lake. Prof Rowan explained today's activity was to observe the water pokemon that lived in the lake. The students had to each focus on one pokemon and express their finding in a report or sketch and then they had to show a final presentation at the end. The grade would depend on the presentation and report. The students were allowed to work along or in a group. The final rules were no one was allowed to catch any of the water pokemon and no one was allowed to leave the area.
It wasn't long till everyone started observing the water pokemon to draw them or write a report. Angie and the gang went off together. There were paddle boats in the shape of Lanturn on the lake and the gang decided to use them. Just then Ash noticed a strange blue light and then Pikachu went into a daze. "Hey Pikachu" said Ash, tapping Pikachu on the back. Pikachu got back to his senses. Ash thought something was weird about that blue light.
Angie and the gang were soon admiring the water pokemon. They saw a Seel, Poliwag, Goldeen, Chinchou, Gorebyss, Dewgong and Sealeo. Tomo decided to draw Dewgong and Angie decided to draw Sealeo. Dawn liked the Gorebyss and decided to draw it. Brock decided to draw Chinchou and Ash decided to draw Goldeen. It turned out though Tomo and Angie were not that good with drawing and they feared they wouldn't get a good grade with the drawings. But Ash had an idea; he decided they should swim with the water pokemon to observe them better before doing a report. The others liked Ash's idea and soon everyone was swimming with the water pokemon. Conway was swimming about too.
"Swimming with the water pokemon was a great idea" said Dawn. "Yes and now we have to think about how to do our reports" said Brock. "Urgh I'm terrible with reports" sighed Angie. "I'm bad myself" said Dawn. "I've never done a report before as I never went to school" said Tomo. "I'll help you out a bit Tomo and then you can do the rest yourself Tomo" said Ash. Conway told Dawn that he would gladly help by writing the report for her, but Dawn told him she would do the report herself. Thing is Conway liked Dawn, but Dawn was clueless about it because she found him rather creepy sometimes. "Come on let's go back to work" said Ash. "Hold on," said Angie "Shinx is missing". It was true because Shinx wasn't with them. "That's odd, Shinx wouldn't just wonder off that this" said Brock.
Just as they were about to search for Shinx the blue light Ash noticed earlier came again. And this time Piplup got into a trance. "It's that blue light again," said Ash "I noticed it earlier before we got into the boats and Pikachu got into some weird trance. There must be something over there". "Interesting maybe the legend about this lake is true" said Conway. He explained there was a legend that when a strange blue light flashes near the lake the pokemon in the area would vanish. "I don't like the sound of that," said Ash "I reckon that mysterious blue light is the reason why Shinx is missing. We need to go over to where that light is coming from and find out what's going on". The others agreed. Even though they knew they weren't allowed to leave the lake, they had to do something about this mystery. Conway agreed to go with them; he wanted to know about this mystery too.
The group came to an area where a cave stood, thanks to remembering where the blue flash came. Suddenly it began to rain really hard and everyone ran to the cave for cover. As soon they entered the cave they saw a green light coming from the end of a path. "The legend states the strange blue light comes forth from the green cave" said Conway. "Then let's go take a look at that green cave" said Ash. Everyone walked to the green cave and there was a lake in the middle of the cave area.
Just then everyone saw a blue light moving about in the lake. "Pikachu, Growlithe, Piplup don't look at that lake" said Ash. The three pokemon turned away at once. "What on earth is that?" said Dawn. Before Dawn's question could be answered a big fish jumped out of water and back in again. It was a dark green and light green fish with big scales and tail. "That's a Lumineon" said Brock.
Conway, being clever clogs, explained the pokemon: Lumineon, the Neon Pokémon. The evolved form of Finneon. It lives on the deep-sea floor. It attracts prey by flashing the patterns on its four tail fins.
"So my Finneon will evolve to that huh?" said Tomo. "It's such a beautiful pokemon" said Angie. "Wait a minute though," said Ash "if Lumineon live in the ocean, why is there one living in the cave then?" That was a good question.
Suddenly everyone saw Shinx; it had been in a trance thanks to Lumineon. Angie ran to Shinx and snapped it out of the trance. Brock suggested they stay and find out more about this Lumineon and do a report about it. The others agreed and Conway wanted to find out about it too. Just then they saw Lumineon eating some seaweed on a rock. "That seaweed is a water pokemon's favourite food," said Brock "Lumineon probably comes here to eat it" said Brock. "But how does it get into this cave?" asked Dawn. As soon as Dawn said that, Lumineon dived back into the water and didn't come out again. "Where'd it go?" asked Angie. Ash released his Buizel and together they searched the lake to see if Lumineon was still there, but it wasn't. But they noticed a tunnel and Ash told the others about it. "I get it," said Brock "that tunnel must be connected to an ocean somewhere from here. And Lumineon must use that tunnel to get into this cave to eat the seaweed and use it again to go back to where it lives in the ocean". It all made sense now. Since the mystery was now solved it was time for the group to get back to the academy to give their report on Lumineon. The rain had stopped by now.
After the group got back to the academy, Ash, Brock, Dawn, Tomo and Angie told everyone about what had happened with Lumineon and they gave a report about what they found out about it and showed a drawing of it. Prof Rowan was impressed by that report and gave them 10 points. But because they broke the rule of leaving the lake area they had 4 points deducted and had to clean the hallway too. Conway also had four points deducted. Despite the group needed to save Shinx, this didn't change the fact they left the lake without permission. So by now the points were the blue team still in first place with 230 points, the red team still in second place with 190 points and the green team in third with 150 points. Prof Rowan stared at the location where Lumineon had been; it seemed he knew about that Lumineon as well.
"It's a shame we had four points deducted from us even though we only broke the rules to save Shinx" said Ash. "Yeah but it was great to see a beautiful pokemon like Lumineon" said Dawn. "And to think my Finneon will evolve into that" said Tomo. It was true; today's activity was indeed an exciting day for the gang.
Today was the fifth day of the pokemon summer academy and Prof Rowan revealed the next activity. This activity was to interact with ghost type pokemon. Yuzo explained the students had to pair up in twos and go to the summit ruins to retrieve a medal. He also said the event would happen tonight at 7:00 and the final scores would be based on how long it takes the students to retrieve the medal. This activity was clearly a test of courage.
Soon all the students began to search for their partners. As Growlithe and Shinx became good friends with each other, Tomo and Angie agreed to partner up with each other. Despite their disputes at the start, Tomo and Angie had started to get along at last. Ash partnered up with a girl named Maggie. Brock was partnered up with a boy named Mitchell and Dawn was partnered up with a boy named Kendall.
Meanwhile Conway was looking for a partner when suddenly a laugh interrupted him. A little girl waved her arm to make Conway come to her. "You're on the blue team too and you don't have a partner?" asked Conway. "Hi let's play together, play with me" said the girl. Her eyes glowed a light purple and Conway got into a trance. He was in trouble.
Hours later night time came and everyone was getting ready for the test of courage event to start. All the students on the red team were given final instructions by Yuzo. The blue and green teams were at different locations with a different professor. Ash and Maggie set off first, then Tomo and Angie and then the other pairs went one by one.
"Are you okay Maggie?" asked Ash. "I'm alright Ash," said Maggie "I'm used to walking out in the dark because I live on a farm and since it gets dark early in winter I walk in the dark to check up on our Miltanks, Tauros, Ponytas and Mareeps before bedtime". "Ah makes sense" said Ash. Suddenly Pikachu stopped walking. "What's up Pikachu?" asked Ash. Pikachu pointed to some bushes. "Ghost pokemon must be hiding in the bushes" said Ash. He was right because a Ghastly, Haunter and Gengar came out of the bushes and made scary faces at them. Maggie got scared while Ash held onto her for comfort. Pikachu got out in front and yelled at the ghost trio. "Wait Pikachu," said Ash "remember the ghost pokemon are part of the activity". He turned to the trio. "I suggest you three go easy with your pranks otherwise you may end up attacked". He, Pikachu and Maggie left. "How are you brave of talking to ghost pokemon Ash?" asked Maggie. "I've run into ghost pokemon lots of times on my journeys and I own a few myself" answered Ash.
Meanwhile at the blue team post the last pair just left. But then a student ran up saying she was late because she dozed off. This was strange to the professor because there were only ten students in the blue team, but the girl made eleven. Something strange was happening.
At that time Tomo and Angie were getting near the bushes. Just then a weird hand grabbed Shinx's tail and Growlithe used ember to get it off. The hand really came from Haunter. Tomo and Angie saw the trio. "Be careful Growlithe," said Tomo "remember we are not allowed to attack the ghost pokemon". "I reckon that one of the ghost pokemon here grabbed onto Shinx and Growlithe tried to protect Shinx" said Angie. Tomo and Angie let the trio off the hook and continued on their way. By now Brock and Mitchell were coming up to where the ghost trio were. Mitchell was afraid and when they saw the ghost trio he was really scared. But Brock bravely gave the ghost trio some pokemon food, so he and Mitchell could continue. Dawn and Kendall were coming come to the bushes but Dawn wasn't having a good time. It turns out Kendall was afraid of the dark and ghost pokemon. When they saw the ghost trio Kendall ran away in a panic, leaving Dawn and Piplup alone. Dawn was not happy she had to have a coward for a partner.
Suddenly she saw Conway walking alone. Conway was still in a trance and was following the little girl. They came to a cliff and the little girl kept walking despite she no longer was on the ground. This little girl was not human; she was a ghost. Conway was just about to walk off the cliff when suddenly an arm grabbed onto him, saving his life. Conway snapped out of the trance and saw his saviour. It was a Dusknoir, but Conway fainted out of shock. Dusknoir saw the ghost girl and the ghost girl disappeared. Just then Dawn and Piplup turned up and saw Conway who was still unconscious. "Alright what did you do to Conway!" Dawn shouted to Dusknoir; she didn't know what had happened. Dusknoir quickly disappeared. Dawn rushed over to Conway and Conway woke up. "What was that thing I saw?" asked Conway. "That was a Dusknoir" answered Dawn, remembering Tomo's Dusknoir. She showed Dusknoir on her pokedex. "A couple more steps and I would have ended up in the spirit world" said Conway. "Yes that was a close one" said Dawn. Conway then asked about the girl he was partnered up with, but Dawn told him he was alone and she hadn't seen her. They didn't know the girl was a ghost and they feared Dusknoir kidnapped her.
Dawn and Conway weren't the only ones encountering Dusknoir. The other students saw Dusknoir and they all ran away from it, including Brock and Mitchell.
Meanwhile Ash and Maggie were still walking for the summit ruins, when they came upon a Shuppet, Banette and Duskull. "Hi Shuppet, Banette and Duskull" said Ash, bravely. Shuppet, Banette and Duskull were surprised Ash wasn't afraid of them and greeted him back. Maggie nervously said hi to the ghost pokemon too and they greeted her back, and then the three pokemon left. "I have to say Ash," said Maggie "there are Duskull that lure about near the farm at night, but I've never spoken to them because I feel a bit scared of them". "Ghost pokemon can be scary especially the scary faces they like to make," said Ash "but one you get used to them they can be friendly. You just have to give them a chance". Maggie understood.
Tomo and Angie were also still walking to the summit ruins when suddenly they came upon a Misdreavus. Misdreavus screeched, making Tomo, Growlithe, Angie and Shinx run away. "You sure went fast" said Angie. "Excuse me but you ran away first, but forget all that we need to get to the ruins" said Tomo. Just then the ghost girl turned and told Tomo and Angie to follow her. Tomo and Angie reckoned the ghost girl was leading then to the ruins so they decided to follow her. What they didn't know was they were heading for trouble.
Meanwhile the other students including Brock and Dawn were telling Prof Rowan about the Dusknoir. Prof Rowan found it strange because a Dusknoir had never been around the area before. But he revealed an incident that happened the other day. Some workers were at the ruins when suddenly a machine broke a wall. The wall revealed a secret cave that's said to be the entrance to the spirit world. As Dusknoir is said to be a pokemon that can bring people to the spirit world, it made Prof Rowan fear that Dusknoir was around to take somebody to the spirit world. Dawn and Brock didn't like the sound of that especially since Ash, Maggie, Tomo and Angie weren't back yet. Conway also feared Dusknoir had kidnapped the girl he was with earlier.
At this time Ash and Maggie had made it to the ruins first and they picked up a medal. "I wonder where everyone else is?" said Maggie. "Oh they'll show up" said Ash. At that moment Tomo and Angie showed up and they got the medal. Tomo told Ash about the girl who helped them. Just then the girl floated to the broken wall and she waved her arm to get the group to follow them. Tomo and Angie were about to walk over to her, but Ash stopped them. "That girl is not human, she is a ghost" he said. "What are you talking about Ash?" asked Angie.
Before Ash could answer Dusknoir turned up. "You can tell that girl isn't human can't you Dusknoir?" asked Ash. Dusknoir nodded yes. Ash turned to the ghost girl again. "You can't fool me," he said "I know you are not human. So give up on trying tricking us!" The ghost girl didn't take Ash's answer, and then the cave lit up in a purple colour and a blast of wind tried to pull the group into the cave. Ash grabbed Maggie and Tomo grabbed Angie. "What's going on?!" shouted Angie. "That spirit is trying to spirit us away to the spirit world" said Ash. Dusknoir flew in front of the group. "Dusknoir help us out please" said Ash. Dusknoir didn't need telling twice and it threw a will o wisp attack at the ghost girl. The ghost girl got thrown back into the spirit world and then the cave collapsed, sealing it up again. Ash turned to Dusknoir. "Thank you Dusknoir you saved our lives there" he said. Dusknoir left.
It was then Prof Rowan, his two assistants, Dawn, Brock and Conway turned up. Ash explained to them everything that happened and showed them the sealed up cave. Prof Rowan found all of this really mysterious and proclaimed there were still some things that even scientists didn't understand about the world. Conway was in shock after hearing he had been partnered up with a ghost.
After that event Prof Rowan decided to give all teams 30 points for their effort. So the blue team was still first with 260 points, red second with 220 points and green third with 180 points. Ash and his team weren't discouraged yet because there was still a chance for them to catch up.
The pokemon summer academy week was coming to an end and the students were going to do one last activity. This activity was called the pokemon triathlon and it was a race. Yuzo explained the start of the race was the academy and they run to a checkpoint at the forest. There at the checkpoint are pokeballs each filled with a pokemon and from there the students would ride the pokemon to the second checkpoint. The second checkpoint was the lake and again there were pokeballs each containing a water pokemon the students had to ride to cross the river. Exchanging pokemon was forbidden. After the river would be a running race to the finish line back at the academy. Yuzo also explained battling and attacking each other was forbidden and 1st place is 50 points, 2nd place is 30 points, 3rd place is 20 points and the rest is 10 points each.
"I can't wait for this race to start" said Tomo, when everyone was outside. "I wouldn't get that excited Tomo, because that first place is mine" said Angie. "Don't underestimate me Angie," said Tomo "I will get first place before you do". Tomo and Angie were just about to have one of their arguments but Dawn stopped them. "Come on you two," said Brock "whether you come in first or second you'll still earn lots of points for the team". Tomo and Angie decided to put aside their difference and wait to see who will finish first.
To everyone's surprise, Nurse Joy was also a judge of the race. She was going to be there in case any trainer and pokemon got hurt. It wasn't long till everyone got ready to start the race. Dawn and Angie returned Piplup and Shinx so they would be rested for when it came to the marathon part of the race. Soon a starting pistol went off and the racers were off.
The gang and Angie got to the first checkpoint first and they selected a pokeball each. Ash got a Spoink, Tomo a Ponyta, Dawn a Dodrio, Brock an Onix and Angie an Ariados. The humans got onto the pokemon at once and they were off again. Yuzo and another assistant were watching and filming everything in a hot air balloon and Prof Rowan and Nurse Joy watched everything on a computer monitor. By then the other students had their own riding pokemon, but one student had trouble with a Garchomp who couldn't fly well. Garchomp frightened a Camerupt and it fired an eruption attack which hit Garchomp. The other riding pokemon got frightened and also fired attacks, leaving everyone to get knocked out a bit. All this time Conway had been riding on a Dugtrio and they had been underground all this time. So they missed the commotion.
By now Angie and the gang made it to the second checkpoint at the lake. They returned the pokemon and picked out their water types. Angie got Lapras, Ash got Mantyke, Tomo got Starmie, Dawn got Sharpedo and Brock got Feraligatr. They were soon crossing the river with Tomo and Angie trying to overtake each other. Conway had come to the lake too and he was riding a Floatzel. The other students got their own water pokemon too, and this time no accidents happened.
At this time Tomo and Angie made it to the other side of the lake. They returned Lapras and Starmie and then Angie sent out her Shinx to join the marathon part. Ash made it to the other side of the lake too with Conway, Dawn and Brock a bit far behind him and Pikachu ran alongside Ash.
Angie and Tomo weren't going to let each other win so easily and didn't stop running so fast. At this time Ash and Pikachu were catching up and so was Conway with his Slowking. "These kids are not bad, but we will not let them beat us" said Conway to his Slowking. Everyone ran through a valley, through a cave and towards the academy for the finishing line. Prof Rowan, his assistants and Nurse Joy were all waiting at the finish line to see who will finish first. Tomo and Angie continued their competition of wanting to cross the finish line before the other. The final result was Tomo crossed the finish line first with Angie second and Ash crossed third. All the others crossed next. Conway finished last because he made himself exhausted from running too fast. So the red team was first with 380 points, blue with 370 and green with 280 points.
With the finally activity over the pokemon summer academy was officially over. Prof Rowan gave a speech of how wonderfully everyone did in the triathlon and how they did during the week at pokemon summer academy. All the students got a graduation certificate on a wooden plaque and that night there was a big bonfire and a feast to celebrate. Tomo and Angie were talking to each other. Angie felt disappointed it was all over so quickly because she had made a friend out of Tomo. Tomo saw it a shame too but was happy to have become friends with Angie. Their rivalry was over at last and they gave each other their email addresses.
The next day everyone said goodbye to each other and left the pokemon summer academy, happy with the experience they had. With the week at the pokemon school over the gang could continue onto Celestic Town.
I'm really sorry you had to wait long; this pokemon summer academy arc took ages to finish, especially when I was doing some changes. I know Team Rocket was in here, but I didn't want to add them in. They're appearing again in the next chapter. I decided to have Tomo and Angie do all the arguing and all that Ash and Angie did in the anime. Remember this Angie will become Tomo's girlfriend later, but at the moment I've still got them as the arguing rival types. As in this story I had Ranger Jenny raise Tomo after his parents died I reckoned she would have taught him herself at the safari instead of having him go to school. I decided to have Tomo get the Raichu Ash got in the anime and have Ash get the Smoochum Jessie got in the anime. I don't know the names for the other students so I just made it up with Maggie. If Jessie hadn't turned up in the Lumineon part in the anime I reckon the group would have seen Lumineon eat the seaweed in the cave, which is why I decided to do that.
