Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 137
Team Rocket's Anniversary
Meeting Fantina and
Doctor Ash in the house
Today Jessie, James and Meowth were happily walking through a town. They had just gotten some money from selling shards they found in the Sinnoh underground mine. "I can't believe we are striking rich more from mining than taking pokemon to the boss" said James. "I can't believe there are entrances to the mine nearly everywhere" said Meowth. "Ha, ha, ha," laughed Jessie "with this money we can eat all we want". "Yes like the grade A steaks" said James. "Seems too much but I like that idea" smiled Meowth. "Then let's go to a restaurant and eat to our hearts content" said Jessie. James and Meowth agreed.
Meanwhile the gang were at a pokemon center to rest their pokemon. Ash and Tomo were telling their mum about their time at the pokemon summer academy. "Well, well, well," said Delia "it seems you two had quite a lot of fun. It seems funny to hear you attending school Ash as you haven't done that since you were nine years old". "I said the same thing myself when I was there" smiled Ash. Meanwhile Dawn was brushing Smoochum's hair. "You love being brushed don't you Smoochum sweetie?" she asked. Smoochum did love it.
Back with Team Rocket, they were enjoying a meal of grade A steaks with wine. Meowth was having milk with his. "Say I just remembered something" said James. "Yeah what is it?" asked Jessie. "Today is actually the anniversary of when we first became a team of three back at headquarters" said James. "Oh yeah," said Meowth "huh it's been a long time since that happened and I forgot about that" said Meowth. "Me too, hot time flies" said Jessie. "We should do something special for it" said Meowth. "Yes but what?" said Jessie. "I know," said James "how about attacking a pokemon center like we did when we first left the headquarters to gather pokemon?" "I remember that, but the twerp and his Pikachu defeated us" said Jessie. "True but we didn't have enough pokemon at that time," said James "but now we have lots of pokemon to attack the pokemon center". "James is right about that and we have toughened ourselves up since then" said Meowth. Jessie saw the point and the trio agreed to attack and steal pokemon from a pokemon center.
Back at the pokemon center Ash, Tomo and Brock were doing chores for Nurse Joy while she tended to the pokemon. "So Brock why are we doing this?" asked Tomo, who was putting plates away. "Because Tomo, Nurse Joy is very busy tonight," said Brock "and she needs an extra pair of hands for help. Nurse Joy always needs a helping hand once in a while". "I guess," said Tomo "but can we have something to eat soon. My pokemon and I are hungry". "I'm feeling hungry too Brock and so are the rest of the pokemon" said Ash. "Okay once we've finished cleaning these dishes I'll fix dinner for all of us" said Brock. The two brothers were happy to hear that.
At this time Team Rocket were driving along in a car. "It's night time now;" said James "all the trainers will be asleep in bed by now". "Good," said Jessie "so while they are asleep we'll nab their pokeballs and other pokeballs Nurse Joy is keeping". "Then send them to the boss" finished Meowth. They agreed this was the best way to spend their anniversary.
They soon came to a pokemon center; this was the same pokemon center the gang was staying at, but the trio didn't know that yet. The trio snuck into the pokemon center through the ceiling and decided to divide up into two groups. Jessie and James were to go together and Meowth was to go with Victreebel, Carnivine, Wobbuffet and Mime Jr. Jessie and James went to a vault where hundreds of pokeballs, with pokemon inside, were kept. James had a clever gadget that knew how to copy any keys from copying any gadget off an electrical vault. Meowth was sneaking into the rooms trainers were sleeping in and swiped the trainer's pokeballs with Mime Jr and Wobbuffet helping. Carnivine and Victreebel carried the pokeballs in their mouths taking care not to drop or swallow any.
Suddenly Piplup, who just woke up, opened the door and it saw Meowth, Victreebel, Carnivine, Mime Jr and Wobbuffet with the pokeballs. "Hey you're the twerpette's Piplup" said Meowth. He fired a thunderbolt attack, but Piplup dodged it and cried out as loud as he could. The noise woke everyone in the pokemon center up. Meowth and the others quickly ran outside to where Jessie and James were.
At this time the gang, who woke up from Piplup's cries ran into the lobby where Piplup was standing. "Piplup what's wrong?" asked Dawn. Before Piplup could say anything, trainers came running out of their rooms saying their pokeballs have been taken. Nurse Joy came running too saying the vaults where she kept pokeballs were empty too. "I bet I know who's done this" said Ash. He ran outside with the others.
There standing outside was Team Rocket about to leave. "You stop right there Team Rocket!" shouted Ash "and give those pokeballs back!" "Sorry twerp but we don't give back what we steal" said Meowth. Jessie and James released all of their pokemon to attack the gang. Jessie and James had their pokemon use their strongest moves; hyper beam, solar beam, hydro pump, etc. Ash, Dawn, Brock, Tomo and their three main pokemon dodged the attacks before either of them got hurt. "Surely you should know by now we've grown stronger over the years" said Jessie. Just then Meowth pressed a button on a remote control and the car transformed into a giant robot, with a big glass container holding the pokeballs. Jessie and James returned their pokemon and jumped into the robot with Meowth. The robot kicked the ground, punched the pokemon center and set off lasers and beams. Nurse Joy had the other pokemon trainers evacuate the pokemon center at once. Piplup stepped into to fight and fired a whirlpool attack and Growlithe fired a flamethrower attack, but the attacks did no good. Jessie laughed and told the gang they made the robot was irresistible to attacks. Piplup created a big wall of bubbles with bubblebeam and it covered the window of the robot, so Team Rocket couldn't see a thing. While Team Rocket was distracted, Pikachu used iron tail to break the container of balls from the robot. Brock called out his Happiny to catch the falling container which she did. Team Rocket used their robot's arms to wipe the bubbles away. Then Pikachu used a very strong thunder attack which made the robot explode and Team Rocket blast off. The reason why this happened was because the bubbles made the robot a bit wet, which was why the thunder attack was able to damage it.
The next day the gang were ready to leave the pokemon center for Celestic Town. Nurse Joy was grateful to the gang; not only was because they saved the pokemon center, they also rescued all of the pokeballs which all the trainers got back. The gang said goodbye to Nurse Joy and went on their way.
On day in a town Zoey was having a contest battle with somebody. Zoey's opponent was a woman wearing a big purple dress and her purple hair was in a style of an X. Zoey was using Glameow and the woman was using a Mismagius. The woman told Mismagius to use psybeam. Zoey tried to get Glameow to jump out of the way, but Glameow got hit by the psybeam attack and became confused. The gang was passing through the town and noticed the battle. "Hang in there Glameow, you can do it" Dawn called out. Zoey was surprised to see the gang, but she had to concentrate on the battle. She ordered Glameow to use shock wave, but Glameow was too confused to use the attack properly. But then Glameow snapped out of the confusion. "Great Glameow, use shock wave again" said Zoey. Glameow could use the attack properly this time. "Mismagius magical leaf" said the woman. Mismagius's leaves blocked the shock wave attack, to Zoey and the gang's surprise. "Psywave tout suite" said the woman; she had a french accent. Mismagius's psywave pushed the magical leaf and shock wave attacks straight at Glameow. Glameow fainted from the combination attack of shockwave, magical leaf and psywave.
Zoey ran over to Glameow and thanked it and then thanked the woman for the battle. The woman thanked Zoey back. "That was a great battle there" said Dawn. The others agreed. The woman introduced herself as Fantina, and Zoey said she was the Hearthome City gym leader. "Really?" said Ash. "I remember you telling me Dawn that you lot went there two times but Fantina wasn't there for you to challenge" said Zoey. "That's right we did" said Dawn. Fantina said the reason why she hadn't been at the gym was because she was travelling like an original pokemon trainer. The gang was confused by that.
"So Fantina may I ask why you are traveling like a pokemon trainer and not attending to the gym?" asked Ash. Everyone came to the pokemon center and Ash wanted to know why Fantina wasn't attending her gym like she was supposed to be doing. "Fantina I think it would be best if you tell everyone that story you told me a while ago, I think they will understand better" said Zoey. Fantina agreed to tell the gang her story.
Fantina's story was back when she was a pokemon trainer herself she studied and worked hard to become very strong with her pokemon. During those times she won pokemon contests and became a top coordinator after winning a grand festival. When the Hearthome Gym opened she was asked to become the gym leader. Fantina fought and won against many trainers who challenged her to gain the gym badge. Of course there were those who always came back to try and defeat her again. Battling against the trainers who challenge her again made her feel she wanted to win no matter what. Brock understood Fantina's feelings as he used to be the gym leader of Pewter City. As Fantina wanted to get stronger as a gym leader, she decided to go travelling again to train herself and her pokemon. Her desire was to create a battling style which incorporates the beauty of a Contest Battle and the ferocity of a Gym battle. But so far she hasn't created it yet. Ash asked Fantina if he could battle her; hearing her story made him want to battle her even more, even though they weren't at the Hearthome Gym yet. Dawn wanted to battle her too as she was a top coordinator. Bad news was Fantina's pokemon were too tired for two pokemon battles so Fantina only wanted to battle with one. So Dawn decided to use her coin toss app on her poketch to see who will battle Fantina.
The result was Ash won the coin toss and got to battle Fantina. Of course Dawn was not happy that she wasn't battling Fantina, but Zoey reminded her it's just a game and nobody knows if they'll win or lose. Ash made the rules; he chose a three on three pokemon battle, with both trainers able to substitute pokemon and the first trainer to knock out the other trainer's three pokemon wins. Fantina agreed with the idea. Ash decided to do a coin toss on his poketch to know who should have the first move. He chose tails and Fantina chose heads. The result was Fantina won so she would make the first move.
Ash felt for sure Fantina would use her Mismagius first and sent out Zangoose first. But Fantina's pokemon wasn't Mismagius, she was using a Drifloon. As Zangoose was a normal type pokemon, ghost type moves wouldn't do a thing on him. But Ash knew already not to underestimate ghost type pokemon. "Zangoose use night slash" said Ash. Zangoose charged in to use night slash, but Drifloon dodged it and fought back with gust. "Ghost type moves may not work on Zangoose, but Drifloon's other moves can" Brock pointed out. "Fantina and Drifloon are just getting started" said Zoey. "Zangoose fight back with hidden power" said Ash. Zangoose fired a hidden power attack and it hit Drifloon. Zangoose's hidden power was rock type so it was super effective on Drifloon, but Drifloon was not beaten yet. "Your Zangoose is superb young Ash," said Fantina "but get ready for this. Drifloon use hypnosis". Drifloon fired a hypnosis attack and Zangoose fell asleep. "Oh no" said Dawn. "We are not defeated yet," said Ash "Zangoose sleep talk". Zangoose ended up using the move crush claw, and of course that didn't affect Drifloon as it was a normal type move. "That's the trouble with sleep talk," said Brock "you can never tell what attack the pokemon using it is going to do". Drifloon attacked next with psychic and Zangoose got tossed around a lot. When Zangoose crashed onto the ground he woke up, but he was in pain from being tossed around a lot. Ash ordered Zangoose to use shadow claw, but Drifloon put Zangoose off with a very strong gust attack. "Man that Drifloon is strong" said Dawn. "Fantina has trained her Drifloon well" said Brock. Before Ash could give Zangoose another command, Drifloon attacked Zangoose with psychic again and Zangoose fainted. "No way" said Tomo, who was surprised at Zangoose's defeat. "Fantina and her ghost pokemon really are something" said Brock.
Ash returned Zangoose and sent out Chimchar next. "Chimchar flamethrower" he said. Chimchar blew a flamethrower at Drifloon, but Drifloon used psychic to stop the flamethrower attack and break it apart. "Whoa Fantina knows how to turn things around here" Ash said to himself. Zoey, Brock, Tomo and Dawn were surprised by this too. "I have never seen anybody use moves like this before even in contest battles" said Zoey. "Now my darling Drifloon will o wisp" said Fantina. Drifloon fired a will o wisp attack along with the broken up flamethrower. Chimchar got hit by the attack. Then Drifloon used hypnosis and put Chimchar to sleep. "Chimchar use sleep talk" said Ash. While still a sleep Chimchar fired bullet seed at Drifloon and Drifloon got hit by it. "Chimchar knows sleep talk too?" asked Zoey. "Ash had all of his pokemon learn sleep talk in case they would ever be put to sleep in a battle" answered Brock. Drifloon wasn't beaten yet and fired ominous wind at Chimchar. "Oh man, Chimchar is getting creamed out there" said Tomo. Ash ordered Chimchar to use sleep talk again and Chimchar used flamethrower. But Drifloon used psychic to break it apart and fire it back at Chimchar again. Chimchar fainted after that. "Ash now only has one more pokemon to use, and he hasn't beaten any one of Fantina's pokemon" said Dawn. "It's as I said," said Zoey "Fantina is difficult to beat".
Ash returned Chimchar and sent out Pikachu. "I'm counting on you buddy" he said. Pikachu nodded yes. Fantina ordered Drifloon to use will o wisp and Pikachu got burned by the flames. "Pikachu thunder bolt" said Ash. Pikachu shocked Drifloon with thunderbolt, but Drifloon did not get defeated yet. This Drifloon was indeed strong, stronger than Pikachu even. "Okay Pikachu it's time to use volt tackle" said Ash. "Ominous wind" Fantina told her Drifloon. Drifloon's ominous wind attack pushed Pikachu back. Ash and the others were surprised by this. "If that Drifloon is strong enough to stop Pikachu like that, Fantina must have had Drifloon as longer as Ash as had Pikachu" said Tomo. "I have to agree with you on that Tomo," said Brock "Pikachu is very strong because of all the times he and Ash have been together. So it must be the same for Fantina and her Drifloon". Pikachu attacked Drifloon again with thunderbolt, but it still didn't defeat Drifloon. Suddenly Drifloon glowed and evolved into Drifblim. This was going to be more trouble for Pikachu.
Dawn looked at Drifblim on her pokedex: Drifblim, the blimp pokemon. The evolved form of Drifloon. It carries people and Pokémon when it flies. But since it only drifts, it can end up anywhere.
Ash wasn't giving up yet and he ordered Pikachu to use thunder, but Drifblim dodged the attack. Then Drifblim put Pikachu to sleep with hypnosis. "That's enough," Ash called out "Pikachu can't take any more of this". Even though Pikachu did know sleep talk, he was still exhausted from battling a powerful Drifblim. So Fantina won the battle.
"I can see Fantina that you are strong as Agatha from Kanto, Morty from Johto and Phoebe from Hoenn" said Ash. "Ah you know those three Ash?" asked Fantina "I have met them myself and I also learnt a lot of things from them". Dawn and Zoey were confused by who Ash meant and Brock and Tomo explained who they were. "Fantina I will train my pokemon more and then come to your gym to challenge you again" said Ash. "I look forward to it," said Fantina "and thank you for the magnificent battle you gave me". Fantina decided to go back to her gym to train with her pokemon more before Ash could challenge her again.
That night Zoey and the gang stayed together at the pokemon center. Zoey was revealing to Dawn that she had three contest ribbons now. Dawn told Zoey she was going to participate in the Celestic Town contest. Zoey wasn't going to participate in the contest, but she said she would watch her on TV like always. After that battle Ash and Tomo saw that trying to defeat Fantina and earning the gym badge was not going to be easy. They had work to do.
Today the gang were staying at a cabin for a few days till the day of the pokemon contest in Celestic Town. Dawn was practicing some contest moves with her pokemon, especially with her Drifloon. Fantina's Drifblim made her want to help Drifloon be great as that. Ash was talking with his Honchkrow, Mismagius and Togekiss; he was going to use them against Fantina. Tomo was going to use his Poochyena, Houndour and Dusknoir. Before the boys were going to start to how to figure out how to beat Fantina's pokemon, they saw Brock coming out from the cabin. Brock was going to town to stock up on medicine because they were running out. So Ash, Tomo and Dawn were left in charge of the cabin and to do the chores Brock wanted them to do.
The first job was to give the pokemon their showers. Ash was to give those who do like getting wet a shower with the shower hose, Tomo was to wipe those who don't like getting wet with a damp flannel and Dawn was to dry them all off. Ash took great care with the water; he had the pokemon check to see if it was too hot or too cold for them, before they rinsed them with water. The next job was to feed the pokemon and Dawn cooked pancakes for everyone to their delight.
After washing up the plates and tidying the kitchen, Dawn saw Ash and Tomo look at videos on a laptop. "What are you watching?" she asked. "We're looking at Fantina's battles online," said Ash "and I must say her battling style with ghost type pokemon is different compared to Agatha, Morty and Phoebe's style". He showed her videos of Agatha, Morty and Phoebe's past pokemon battles. "I see what you mean Ash," said Dawn, surprised by their battling styles, "and that battle Fantina had with Zoey and then you were really something". "It's true," said Ash, remembering that battle "and despite Honchkrow can't be hit by hypnosis; Fantina's pokemon will still be difficult to beat with her being a top coordinator with top contest battling styles and all. Her style reminded me of Juan a gym leader back in hoenn who was also a top coordinator. Tomo and I will need to find a way to counter attack Fantina's pokemon moves, especially when they use hypnosis". Dawn agreed with that.
Suddenly Pikachu came running in shouting. "What's the matter Pikachu?" asked Ash. Pikachu ran outside and Ash, Tomo and Dawn followed. There lying down on the ground was Dawn's Pachirisu looking very hot and panting like crazy. "Pachirisu what's wrong with you?" asked Dawn, worriedly. Ash ran over to Pachirisu and touched its head. "It has a fever and I think I know what this is" he said. He carried Pachirisu back into the cabin and placed him on the sofa carefully and had Tomo get a damp flannel. "What's the matter with Pachirisu Ash?" asked Dawn. Before Ash could answer blue sparks came off Pachirisu. "Ah I know what this is," said Ash "this is a fever electric type pokemon get when they store up too much electricity. Pikachu has had this before". "What do we do?" asked Dawn worriedly. "First of all Dawn you must stop worrying;" said Ash "like how you should not show any fear or panic when in a pokemon contest or pokemon battle, you should not show any fear or panic when treating your own pokemon when its hurt or sick. The more worried the trainer is, the worse the pokemon's condition gets". Dawn was surprised by the lecture. "You leave Pachirisu to me Dawn, Brock taught me what to do with situations like this". Dawn didn't know what to do herself, so she placed her trust on Ash.
"Okay first off we need an ice pack to place on Pachirisu's head" said Ash. Dawn calmly created some ice with the help of Piplup and Buneary and gave it to Ash to place on Pachirisu's head. "Okay next we need some oran berries, Tomo can you go outside and find some for me?" "Right away" said Tomo. Tomo went with his Growlithe and Staravia to find some oran berries. "Okay while we wait for Tomo to come back we need to get rid of some of Pachirisu's spare electricity" said Ash. He had Pikachu, Luxio and Tomo's Pachirisu absorb Pachirisu's spare electricity. "You make this look so easy Ash," sighed Dawn "you knew right away on what to do with this situation, while I just got all panicky and didn't have a clue". "Dawn you've only just started your pokemon journey remember," said Ash "you wouldn't know much about these things yet. I didn't know about pokemon medicine that much either when I started my journeys and I only knows these things now because of all the things Brock taught me during all my pokemon journeys with him. Remember your mum said she still had a lot to learn when she began her journeys just like you do now. And the more journeys you go on the more and more things you'll come to learn". Dawn remembered her mum telling her things like that before.
Just then Tomo, Growlithe and Staravia came back with some oran berries. "You found the berries alright?" asked Ash. "Yes thanks to my berry finder app on my poketch" answered Tomo. "Did you check to see if the oran berries were okay?" asked Ash. "I did," answered Ash "the first batch of oran berries we found had a sour taste but the ones we have here don't". "Excellent now let's give Pachirisu some oran berries" said Ash. Dawn cut up a few of the berries and mashed them into a paste; she explained to the boys her mother did this for here whenever she was sick. Pachirisu ate the berry paste which it liked and Ash changed the ice. "Good now Pachirisu just needs to rest and he'll be as right as rain in no time". "Thank you Ash," said Dawn "I don't know what I would have done if you weren't here". "No problem, but you will need to learn more about pokemon medicine" said Ash. Dawn agreed with that.
At that moment Brock came back and he saw Ash, Tomo and Dawn attending to Pachirisu. They explained to Brock about Pachirisu's condition. Brock looked over Pachirisu. "Well thanks to you three Pachirisu will be better in no time," said Brock "you did very well Ash and Tomo with handling this situation". "Well it is thanks to your teachings Brock" said Ash. "Hey Brock will you teach me about pokemon medicine?" asked Dawn "I want to know what I need to do if any of my pokemon get hurt or sick again when we aren't anywhere near a pokemon center". "Of course," answered Brock "know about pokemon medicine is another train a pokemon trainer has to learn".
Pachirisu was feeling better in no time at all thanks to Ash. And today's activity really showed Dawn she still had a lot to learn with tending to pokemon when they're sick or hurt.
I didn't like Team Rocket getting all fat and bulgy like in the A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine! Episode. I can't believe they made themselves like that really; Jessie always hated fat people in the anime. What I also can't believe is how Ash forgot in the Playing The Leveling Field episode how tricky it is to defeat ghost pokemon; he had battled ghost pokemon before you know. Sorry if people wanted Pikachu to defeat Fantina's Drifloon, but I decided to keep the Drifloon as strong as Pikachu thing. The Doc Brock episode was very poor in my eyes; Ash had learnt medicine lots of times before that episode, and as Pikachu had become ill from too much electricity twice before that episode he should have known better by now. I really hate how they make Ash forget everything he learnt in the past in the next season.
My poll is closed so Lillie will become a fairy type trainer when I do Ash's Alola Journey. Now I have another opinion; when I do Ash's Kalos Journey I will be giving Bonnie some more pokemon. I have sorted out plans for what she will have, but I can't make up my mind with something. Should Bonnie have a Skiddo or a Deerling for a grass pokemon? Please vote on the poll.
