Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 138
The Battle Factory
And The Celestic Contest
Before going to Celestic Town for the pokemon contest the gang were stopping at somewhere else first. The contest wasn't till tomorrow so it was okay. The place they had come to was Sinnoh's fourth battle facility; the Battle Factory. "Hey this is just like the battle factory back in Kanto" said Ash. He was right because the battle factory was a metal factory exactly like Noland's battle factory. "I wonder if this frontier brain invents things like Noland does?" said Brock. "Actually I do" said a voice.
The voice came from a young man in a smart suit and Matt was with him. "Good to see you kids here" said Matt. The man introduced himself as Factory Head Thorton the frontier brain of the battle factory. "So Thorton do you invent things like Noland of the battle factory does?" asked Ash. "Yes in a way, I know Noland well," said Thorton "I like to invent machines for pokemon. So are you kids here to battle me?" "I am my name is Ash" said Ash. "Well Ash I accept your challenge" said Thorton. Thorton led Matt and the gang to a big metal warehouse; this was where the battlefield was. Thorton had an apprentice named Wayne who also acted as the referee for the battles. He explained the battle was a three on three pokemon battle and whoever knocks out all three pokemon first wins. Ash and Thorton took their places on the battlefield and Matt, Brock, Dawn and Tomo sat on the side seats. "I wonder what pokemon Thorton uses?" said Dawn. "Well Noland had different types of pokemon, so maybe Thorton does the same" said Brock. "That's incorrect I'm afraid," said Matt "Thorton does use many different types of pokemon to help him work in his factory, but for the battles he only uses one type pokemon". Dawn, Brock and Tomo wondered what that was.
Thorton sent out his first pokemon, a Magnemite. 'He probably either uses electric types or steel types' thought Ash. Ash called out his Breloom to battle. "Breloom is part grass and fighting type and Magnemite is weak to fighting type" said Brock. Ash started off by telling Breloom to use mach punch, but Magnemite used metal sound to put Breloom off. Breloom use energy ball" said Ash. Breloom fired an energy ball attack and it hit Magnemite. "Impressive" said Thorton. He ordered Magnemite to use lock on. "Oh-oh, I reckon Magnemite is going to use zap cannon" said Tomo. "But electric type moves are weak against grass type pokemon aren't they?" said Dawn. "Yes but zap cannon is a very strong electric type move and it can cause paralysis" said Brock. Truth be told Magnemite did use zap cannon but Breloom protected himself with protect, and then he punched Magnemite with sky uppercut. "Nice Breloom now finish this with mach punch" said Ash. Breloom punched Magnemite before it had the chance to do anything and it fainted. "Ha-ha the first win" said Dawn. "I wonder what pokemon Thorton will use next though?" said Brock.
Thorton returned Magnemite and sent out his next pokemon a Magneton. "Do you think Thorton uses the Magnemite evolution line?" asked Tomo. "Bingo, that's exactly what Thorton uses in his battles" said Matt. "That figures" said Brock. Ash knew Magneton would be stronger than Magneton, having battled Magnetons before, and told Breloom to be careful. "Okay Breloom use leech seed" said Ash. "Use thunder wave Magneton" said Thorton. Before Breloom could fire a leech seed attack, Magneton struck Breloom with thunder wave and poor Breloom was paralyzed. "Oh no," said Dawn "with Breloom paralyzed it's going to be hard for Ash". Ash tried to have Breloom attack Magnemite with energy ball, but Breloom was too paralyzed to move. "Okay Magneton use tri attack" said Thorton. Breloom got hit by the tri attack but it was still alright to continue. "Breloom use seed bomb" said Ash. Breloom managed to fire a seed bomb attack, but Magneton countered it with magnet bomb. Then Magnemite attacked Breloom with tri attack and Breloom got hit by the attack and fainted. "Oh man that Magneton is strong" said Dawn. "Yes but Ash isn't beaten yet" said Brock.
Ash returned Breloom and sent out Torkoal next. "That's a cute pokemon" said Dawn, looking at Torkoal on her pokedex. "I reckon Ash must have had a feeling that Thorton would either use a mix like Noland did or use electric type or steel type" said Brock. Thorton started off with Magneton using thunderbolt, but Torkoal used iron defense and he didn't get hurt a lot from the thunderbolt. "Now Torkoal use flamethrower" said Ash. Torkoal blew a flamethrower attack and it hit Magneton. "Ha a direct hit" said Tomo. Magneton did receive a lot of damage but it could still battle. "Magneton tri attack" said Thorton. "Smokescreen Torkoal" said Ash. Torkoal created a smokescreen to distract Magneton. Magneton did fire a tri attack but because of the smoke in the way the attack missed Torkoal. "Now flamethrower again Torkoal" said Ash. Torkoal hit Magneton with flamethrower again and Magneton fainted. "Now Ash only needs to beat one more pokemon" said Dawn. "Yes but Magnezone can be a bit hard to beat" said Brock. "That's right" said Dawn, remembering how hard it was they fought against Zero's Magnezone.
Thorton returned Magneton and sent out Magnezone. Ash knew how tough a Magnezone was, so he decided to try and finish it quickly. "Overheat Torkoal" he said. Torkoal blew an overheat attack and it hit Magnezone. But Magnezone didn't look hurt that much. "That Magnezone must have the ability sturdy," said Brock "that ability prevents the user from getting hurt so much from attacks". "Lock on Magnezone" said Thorton. "Quick Torkoal use flamethrower" said Ash. Ash hoped Torkoal would be able to take down Magnezone with flamethrower before it used zap cannon, but Magnezone dodged the attack. "Now Magnezone use zap cannon" said Thorton. Thanks to lock on Magnezone successfully struck Torkoal with zap cannon. Torkoal was hurt and paralyzed. "That's not good" said Dawn, worriedly. There was worse to come. Magneton attacked again with discharge and Torkoal couldn't do anything because of the paralysis. Poor Torkoal got defeated from the attack. So Ash only had one more pokemon to use. "Magnezone is Thorton's strongest pokemon," said Matt "Ash will find it difficult with this one".
Ash returned Torkoal and sent out his last pokemon Blaziken. "Ash's Blaziken looks as cool as May's Blaziken" said Dawn. Thorton started off first by telling Magnezone to use discharge, but Blaziken jumped out of the way to dodge. "Use blaze kick Blaziken" said Ash. Blaziken kicked Magneton hard with blaze kick. Thorton was impressed but he wasn't going to let that beat him. "Lock on Magneton" he said. "Oh no Magneton is going to use zap cannon again" said Tomo. Dawn and Brock were worried. Ash decided to move in quick and told Blaziken to use flare blitz. Magnezone got hit hard, but of course Blaziken was a bit hurt too from using flare blitz. "Quick Blaziken use sky uppercut" said Ash. "Zap cannon Magnezone" said Thorton. Blaziken moved in quick and punched Magnezone with sky uppercut before Magnezone could use zap cannon. Magnezone fainted from the sky uppercut attack. So Ash was the winner of the challenge. "Phew I was worried for Ash there at the moment, especially of how strong Magnezone was" said Dawn. "Ash always knows how to pull through when in a difficult spot" said Brock.
Thorton returned Magnezone and Ash returned Blaziken. "Well Ash," said Thorton "you are a trainer I have never seen before in my battles for sure. I keep all data of the many battles I've had in the past, but your data is different from the rest". "Uh thanks I think" said Ash. Thorton was someone who liked to talk about data and stuff like that. Thorton presented Ash the Battle Factory Plaque, which had a picture of the battle factory. "Four down, one more to go" said Ash. "I can't believe you have four already" said Dawn. "It's as I said to you before Dawn;" said Ash "when you're out earning badges or ribbons etc, you end up earning them quicker than you think". Dawn saw the point. "Well Ash," said Matt "the last battle facility is at a place called Sunnyshore City". Brock looked at it in his guide book. "Well we won't be going there yet because we have other places to stop first before going there" said Brock. "You're right about that," said Matt, who knew that as well, "well then I'll see you kids soon enough".
The gang said goodbye to Matt and Thorton and went on their way to Celestic Town.
Twenty years ago Johanna was battling an opponent named Lila back when she was a coordinator. Johanna was using her Glameow and Lila was using a Delcatty. Glameow used iron tail on Delcatty, but Delcatty used substitute so Glameow only hit a copy. Then Delcatty fought back by hitting Glameow with shock wave. "And the flowers have bloomed" said Lila, while fanning a stream of confetti from her hand with a smile. This was Lila's famous habit called the tiger lily smile. The time was soon up and Lila had more points than Johanna. So Lila won the contest and the ribbon. This was a time that Johanna and Lila would never forget.
Bank in the present the gang were in Celestic Town and they were talking to Johanna on the phone in the pokemon center. Johanna was telling Dawn about the time she fought Lila in a contest and Lila was the first rival to ever beat her. "Excuse me but who is this Lila person?" asked Ash. Dawn explained Lila was a top poke stylist and she did styles for both humans and pokemon. She was a fan of Lila and her styles like she was a fan of Paris. Dawn asked her mum if ever battled Lila again after that, but Johanna said Lila retired from contests and being coordinator because she could battle her again. "I seem to remember reading that Lila's store is here in Celestic Town" said Brock. "Yes and that's great," said Dawn, excitedly, "we all have to go there!" 'Figures' thought all the three boys, knowing Dawn and her liking of fashion.
The gang soon came to Lila's store. Dawn couldn't stop smiling for joy when they entered the shop. There were clothes and accessories for men, boys, women and girls as well as many accessories for pokemon. "This is a nice shop I have to admit" said Ash. Tomo admired a pendant that was in the shape of a boomerang. Brock noticed some clothing that Wallace wore in the past. Dawn became more and more impressed with Lila's styles. She asked the shop assistant if she could see Lila, but the shop assistant said Lila was out today. Dawn was disappointed because she really wanted to see Lila.
Later that day it was time for the Celestic Town pokemon contest. Ash wasn't entering this contest so he sat with Tomo and Brock in the seats. Marian did the usual introductions and showed off the Celestic Ribbon. The ribbon was blue with three white stripes on each side. In the dressing room Dawn was sorting out her hair again. Her dress was back to its normal form and with only a red ribbon round the waist. But Dawn had decorated it with white daisies because she was going to use Wormadam for the appeal round. Right now she was trying to tie her hair with white daisies but her hair wouldn't stay. Suddenly a lady walked into the dressing room and did her hair for her. "Thank you so much" said Dawn, happily. When she turned round she realized she was Lila. "Hold on you're Dawn aren't you?" asked Lila. "Yes but how do you know my name?" said Dawn. Before Lila could answer Lila's co-worker came in, grabbed Lila and told her to hurry. Dawn was confused about what happened.
It was now time for the appeal round. "Our first coordinator;" said Marian "this lady is making her first contest appearance in twenty years. It's Lila". Everyone was surprised to see Lila participating in the contest, especially Dawn. "Cherrim out you come" said Lila, throwing a pokeball. At first Cherrim was in its overcast form; a form that makes it look like a bud that's about to bloom. But then it changed into its sunshine form; a form that makes it a full bloomed flower.
Ash looked at Cherrim on his pokedex: Cherrim, the blossom pokemon. The evolved form of Cherubi. During times of strong sunlight, its bud blooms, its petals open fully, and it becomes very active.
First Cherrim used magical leaf and then it used sunlight. It created an image of a beautiful green flower shape. "Wow Dawn's mum wasn't kidding when she told us about Lila being a very good coordinator" said Ash. Dawn thought Lila was amazing too, but she had to remember that Lila was her rival today.
After some other pokemon did their appeals it was Dawn's turn. She released Wormadam with a white ling seal. First Wormadam released a razor leaf attack while spinning and then she released multiple energy ball attacks which exploded to fireworks. "Dawn really has got her contest spirit back after her win at the Wallace Cup" said Ash. "Definitely" agreed Brock.
After the appeal rounds were over, the boys went with Dawn to the waiting room. "Your Wormadam certainly has grown ever since you caught it when you first started Dawn" said Brock. "Yeah, I sometimes feel like we have grown together as she was my first capture" said Dawn. Just then they noticed Lila talking to Johanna on the video phone. "Hi mum and Lila" said Dawn. "Hi Dawn," said Lila "that was a wonderful performance you gave out there". "Thank you," smiled Dawn "mum told us about you and her having a contest battle together. That must have been so amazing". "It was," replied Lila "as the matter of fact the battle between me and your mother was the important battle in my entire life". Lila explained that back when she saw our energized Johanna was at battling it made her question herself if she really wanted to keep doing contests in her life. She also explained back then she wasn't sure if she wanted to continue with being a coordinator or become a poke stylist. Then one day she got the chance to study on become a poke stylist abroad and with not knowing what to do she asked Johanna for advice. Then she and Johanna agreed on working on what they really wanted to do and what they were best at. So she became a poke stylist while Johanna continued on being a coordinator. Dawn liked that story. "I'd never thought you would take the path of a coordinator again" Johanna said to Lila. "Well it's all because of your sweet daughter" said Lila. She explained she saw Dawn on TV in the Wallace Cup the memories of her days as a coordinator flooded back into her head. "It made me think how wonderful it would be if I won my fifth ribbon in a contest battle against you Dawn" said Lila. "If you win you'll be able to enter the grand festival" said Brock. But the real reason why Lila wanted to battle Dawn was so she could learn something about herself if she battle Dawn the same way she battled Johanna. Suddenly the results were up and Marion announced only eight coordinators were to make it to the battle rounds. Both Lila and Dawn made it to the second round. Lila and Dawn couldn't wait to face each other in the finals and Johanna couldn't wait for that either.
Lila and Dawn defeated their opponents one by one; Lila used her Delcatty and Dawn used Ambipom. Finally it was the final battle round and Lila and Dawn were against each other. Dawn was a bit nervous was this because her mum wasn't able to beat Lila, but she reminded herself that if she did lose she could just try again in the next pokemon contest. Lila sent out her Delcatty and Dawn sent out Ambipom. Ambipom started off with swift, but Delcatty used substitute. Then Delcatty used shock wave on Ambipom; the same move she did against Johanna 20 years ago. "And the flowers have bloomed" said Lila, doing her famous tiger lily smile. Ambipom attacked next with a combination of double team and focus punch. But Delcatty's ability cute charm kicked in after being hit by focus punch and Ambipom was infatuated with Delcatty. "That's not good" said Ash. "Yeah especially when Ambipom won't be able to attack much" said Brock. Delcatty attacked with sing and Ambipom fell asleep. "Oh no" said Dawn. "Delcatty iron tail" said Lila. "Oh Ambipom, use sleep talk" said Dawn. While still asleep Ambipom dodged the iron tail attack. Lila was impressed by that and so was Johanna. "Sleep talk is something I never came up with" said Johanna. Dawn told Ambipom to use sleep talk again, which became fury swipes, but Delcatty dodged and shocked Ambipom with shock wave. "The second flower has bloomed" said Lila, doing her famous tiger lily smile again. Ambipom woke up from her sleep. "Alright Ambipom use swift" said Dawn. Ambipom fired a swift attack, but Delcatty used substitute to dodge but then Ambipom managed to hit Delcatty with double slap. Unfortunately though, Ambipom went into an infatuated state again. "If this keeps on happening, I fear Dawn will lose this" said Ash, worriedly. Brock and Tomo were worried too. Dawn decided to go for broke and told Ambipom to use double team. Luckily it worked. Layla told Delcatty to use sing and Dawn told Ambipom to use double hit. Delcatty's sing attack hit Ambipom's copies, but Ambipom was able to hit Delcatty with double hit. As she was still in her infatuation state she didn't get hit by cute charm again. Just then she snapped out of her state. "Alright use swift Ambipom" said Dawn. Ambipom created a big diamond shape with her swift attack. Delcatty did use substitute to get away, but as the diamond shape was so big Delcatty still got hit by the stars. "Quick use shock wave" said Lila. Delcatty's shock wave and Ambipom's swift clashed with each other, creating a Milky Way shape. Everyone was amazed by what was going on, even Marion and the judges were surprised. Finally the swift attack broke through and Delcatty got hit by the swift attack. Suddenly the time was up and the one who ended up winning the contest battle was Dawn.
Dawn was happy that she won and hugged Ambipom, thanking her. The boys were happy for Dawn and so was Johanna. Delcatty felt disappointed for losing, but Lila told him he was great. She congratulated Dawn for her win and they shook hands with each other. Dawn was given the Celestic Town ribbon and did her pose.
As a treat for Dawn's victory, Lila allowed Dawn to pick out what ever outfit she liked for free. The boys were allowed too. Dawn picked out an orange dress. Ash picked out a Hawaiian theme outfit for himself with sunglasses and an open topped hat, Tomo picked out a jungle theme outfit for himself with the pendant he liked earlier and Brock picked out an orange t-shirt, brown vest top, pink hat and scarf and green trousers. And Piplup, Pikachu and Growlithe and the rest of Dawn's pokemon picked out some jewellery for themselves. "Everything in your shop is wonderful Lila, thank you" said Dawn. Lila was happy and said she felt enthusiasm and excitement she hadn't felt for a long time thanks to the contest battle.
With the Celestic Town contest over it was time for the gang to think about getting to Hearthome City, so Ash and Fantina could battle her for the badge.
Sorry for the wait. I decided to have the battle factory somewhere before entering Celestic Town. I also decided to have Thorton use the Magnemite evolution line because I thought it suited him. I wanted to have Ash in the shop instead of him thinking about what to do with hypnosis. The outfits he and Brock pick out in this chapter are the same clothes they picked out in the anime.
