Ash's Pokemon Journey

Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.

Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.

Chapter 140

The Griseous Orb,

Aaron and

Venasaur vs Torterra

After the bit of excitement with Team Galactic, the gang visited Angie at her family's pokemon day care center in Solaceon Town. They were just about to leave but Ash stopped everything and took out his master ball. "What's wrong Ash?" asked Dawn. "Shhh it's Mewtwo, he's contacting me saying to come to the Solaceon ruins now" said Ash. "Mewtwo may have news for us," said Brock "we better get to the Solaceon Ruins at once". The others agreed and made their way to the ruins at once.

Once the gang got to the ruins they found Mewtwo outside the ruins, waiting for them. He was carrying a yellow, weird shaped, orb in his arms. "What happened Mewtwo?" asked Ash. 'I told Giratina about Team Galactic and their desire to use Dialga and Palkia to create a new world by destroying it,' said Mewtwo 'Giratina was not happy with that and then I told it about you needing its help'. "Did Giratina agree to help us fight Team Galactic when we need it?" ask Ash. 'It did and it gave me this orb the Griseous Orb' said Mewtwo, holding up the orb. "Hey I saw this orb before," said Ash "back when I was still in the reversal world Giratina used this orb to recover it after it became damaged". "That must mean this orb is connected to Giratina just like the Lustrous Orb and Adamant orb are connected to Dialga and Palkia" said Brock. "Wow who knew Giratina would have its own orb?" said Dawn. "So it's obvious really we will need this orb to summon Giratina when we need it to fight Team Galactic in case they do summon Dialga and Palkia" said Ash, remembering last time. He took it from Mewtwo's arms. "Good work Mewtwo". Mewtwo asked Ash if he could rest in his master ball for a while and Ash returned him.

"Okay guys, we have Giratina's Orb the Griseous Orb as proof Giratina will help us. Remember we never tell anyone about this till the time has come. Agreed?" "Agreed" said Brock, Tomo and Dawn. Ash carefully placed the Griseous Orb in his back pack and then the gang got ready to leave Solaceon Town again. To Ash this was history repeating itself but on a different scale.

Today the gang were walking through a small town, when they noticed a long line of people. "I wonder what's going on here" said Ash. Officer Jenny noticed the gang. "Are you kids here to observe?" she asked "if you are please go to the back of the line". "Pardon me Officer Jenny but what do you mean by observe?" asked Dawn. "You kids don't know?" asked Officer Jenny "Aaron is holding a public training session here". "Aaron?" said Ash. Dawn quickly opened up her back pack and took out an issue of poke-chic. She also said Officer Jenny meant Aaron of the elite four.

Aaron was in a small stadium and he was commanding a Drapion and Vespiquen to attack some targets, while a Skorupi watched. He was a bug type trainer. Everyone was impressed by Aaron's training, including the gang. "I can't believe we are going to meet another member of the elite four" said Dawn. "Me neither," said Ash "first we met Lucian some time ago and now we will meet Aaron". "Ah the amazing Lucian who uses psychic type pokemon," said Officer Jenny "Bertha uses ground type pokemon, Flint uses fire types and Aaron uses bug types. Of course those four awesome champion trainers who reign over the whole pokemon league form the elite four. But of all four of them Aaron is the one who combines strength and popularity. He really walks the walk". Officer Jenny was a big fan of Aaron and she couldn't stop talking about how great he was. She even said that Aaron was going to challenge Cynthia for the title of champion. "Oh so Aaron is the challenger Cynthia was talking about back in Celestic Town" said Dawn. "I can't wait to see that" said Ash. Officer Jenny and the fans believed Aaron will win the battle and become the new champion.

The training demonstration soon ended and Aaron thanked everyone for watching him and asked them for their support when he battles Cynthia. The fans started to line up to give Aaron flowers and ask for his autograph. Officer Jenny quickly got onto her feet to keep everyone in line. Dawn went to line up too to get an autograph from Aaron too.

What nobody knew was Team Rocket had turned up and they saw the training session too. "Well, well, well fancy seeing a member of the elite four in Sinnoh," said Jessie "and that Vespiquen and Drapion are something else". "I hope you're not suggesting we try and steal his pokemon," said James "you haven't forgotten how incredibly strong the elite four are have you?" "No, no, no James," said Jessie "we aren't going after those pokemon. We are going to after his other pokemon. That Vespiquen and Drapion seem to be his main battling pokemon, so we'll go after the pokemon that aren't his main battling pokemon. They'll be weaker than the Vespiquen and Drapion so it will be easy for us to get them". Meowth and James weren't so sure about this idea, but Jessie did make a point out of it so it was a plan.

Right now Dawn was having Aaron sign her magazine. "Cynthia told me the elite four are powerful battlers, so she's not going easy on you" said Dawn. "You know Cynthia personally?" asked Aaron. "Yes Ash, Brock, Tomo and I have met her a few times before" answered Dawn. "I can't wait to see you and Cynthia battle Aaron" said Ash. "Cynthia is defiantly powerful, but I have been training a lot as well and my pokemon are good to go" said Aaron. "Apart from Drapion, Vespiquen and Skorupi," said Ash "do you have any other pokemon?" "I do actually," said Aaron "hey why don't you kids come to my training center. It would be an honour for me to have visitors who are friends of Cynthia". The gang said yes right away; it was a chance in a lifetime to visit an elite four's training center.

Aaron bought the gang to a cabin next to a lake in the middle of a forest; this was his training center. "What a gorgeous place" said Dawn. "I built this cabin after I joined the elite four," said Aaron "I love it here". Just them some wild bug pokemon turned up; there was some Surskits, some Combees, a Venonat, a Mothim and a Ledyba. "This place is defiantly a paradise for bug pokemon" said Brock. Ash was thinking it was a good thing Misty wasn't here because she would have freaked. Suddenly a Heracross, Yanmega and Scizor turned up. "Ah I see you three have down your exercise then?" Aaron said to them. The three pokemon nodded yes. "That's good now take a break" said Aaron. He released his Vespiquen and Drapion from their pokeballs and told them to relax too. "So Heracross, Scizor and Yanmega are your pokemon too Aaron?" asked Dawn. "Correct," said Aaron "and now it's time for me to train". There was some exercise gear in the cabin and Aaron got onto one of them. "My pokemon would make fun of me if I don't train myself too" he explained. "That's understandable" said Brock. While Aaron was doing his exercise Dawn noticed a photo on a desk. The photo was Aaron when he was younger and a Wurmple was with him. Dawn looked at it in wonder.

Meanwhile Team Rocket were staring at Aaron's pokemon while hiding in a bush. They were planning to go after Scizor, Yanmega and Heracross. "Okay so how shall we nab then without that elite four member blasting us off?" asked James. "I suggest we use some honey to lure the Yanmega, Heracross and Scizor over here and then nab them" said Meowth. "That won't work," said James "don't you remember what happened when we used honey to lure out wild pokemon? Pokemon we didn't want like Munchlax kept on coming to eat the honey and we only just managed to get pokemon we did want". "Good point because look over there" said Jessie, pointing to a tree. There was a Munchlax eating some berries. "Okay so how do we get them then?" said Meowth. "We use our pokemon vacuum machine" said Jessie. "But they never work when we use them;" said James "the pokemon attack the cleaner on the inside and that brings the balloon down, smashes the machine and the pokemon escape". "Ah but I have an idea of how we can get away with the pokemon without them attacking the machine" said Jessie. Jessie had a mean plan on her mind.

Back at the cabin, Aaron was taking a break from his training. "Hey Aaron," said Dawn "I noticed your photo with a Wurmple with you". "Oh Wurmple was the very first pokemon I caught" said Aaron. Aaron explained back when he was a young kid he lived in town, but snuck into the forest wherever he could because he loved the forest even as a kid. One day he climbed up the tallest tree in the forest, but as it was so high he realized he couldn't get down. But a Wurmple was there and it helped him get down. He was thankful to Wurmple and gave it a hug. "It wasn't long till Wurmple and I became best friends" said Aaron, finishing the story. He showed the gang a photo album with photos of him and Wurmple. "It's nice having a Wurmple on your team" said Ash. He explained to Aaron about when he caught two Wurmples and had them evolve to Beautifly and Dustox. Aaron thought that was nice. "Hey Aaron how's Wurmple doing these days?" asked Dawn.

Before Aaron could answer Dawn's question, a strong gust of wind appeared and Pikachu, Growlithe, Piplup and Skorupi got blown away. Drapion, Vespiquen, Scizor, Heracross and Yanmega got blown away too. What happened was the pokemon got sucked up by Team Rocket's vacuum machine. "Team Rocket again?!" shouted Tomo. "Hello again twerps, thanks for the pokemon" laughed Jessie. The balloon started to fly away with the machine. "No you don't! Come back here!" shouted Ash. Aaron and the gang hurried to chase after Team Rocket at once.

The balloon was flying over the forest. Of course Pikachu, Piplup and Growlithe were angry by their capture and started to attack the machine. "Oh-oh the pokemon are attacking" said James. "Meowth press the button" said Jessie. Meowth pressed a button and then a stun spore powder entered the inside of the machine. All of the pokemon became paralyzed. This was Jessie's horrid plan; she decided to have her Dustox fill up the machine with stun spore. So if the pokemon attack the machine, the stun spore will paralyze them and stop them from attacking. "That was a great plan of yours Jessie" said Meowth. "Of course stun spore has always worked and it always will" said Jessie. Of course that wasn't exactly true but of course Jessie liked to show off. Unbeknown to Team Rocket, a Ledian saw what had happened and it went off to tell Aaron; it was a friend of his.

Meanwhile Aaron and the gang were still looking for Team Rocket. "Team Rocket defiantly came this way" said Ash, looking all around. "We have to find them!" shouted Aaron, angrily, "Skorupi, Drapion, Vespiquen, Yanmega, Heracross and Scizor are my pokemon and my best friends!" "Aaron?" said Ash, getting worried by his behaviour. "Oh sorry" said Aaron, calming down. Aaron explained he was a cry baby back when he was a kid and he wasn't a good battler back them; always losing pokemon battles. That time he blamed Wurmple for being a weak pokemon and said unfair things to it and then left it. Later that day he realised how hurtful he had been to Wurmple and wanted to apologize to it, but Wurmple was gone. "Because I said those things my best friend was gone," said Aaron "ever since that day I worked hard and came to truly understand bug type pokemon. That's why we have to get my pokemon back; I never want to lose my best friends ever again". "That won't happen because we will get them back" said Dawn. Suddenly Ledian arrived and told Aaron where Team Rocket was. "Okay let's go" said Ash, and they all gave chase again.

At that time Team Rocket was still flying over the forest. Inside the machine all the pokemon struggled to try and fight again, but the paralysis made it difficult. Suddenly a hyper beam attacked the balloon and the balloon went crashing down to the ground with the machine. "Alright who did that?!" shouted Jessie. The hyper beam attack came from Brock's Probopass. "Give us back our pokemon!" shouted Aaron. Just then the machine opened up and the pokemon weakly came out. "What have you done to our pokemon?!" shouted Dawn. Jessie and James didn't answer and sent out Seviper, Weavile, Carnivine and Roserade. Meowth went on to mend the machine. Tomo took out some cheri berries from his back pack. "Here guys eat these!" he shouted, tossing the berries to the pokemon. Pikachu managed to catch the berries, ate one for himself and gave the rest to the others. The pokemon were feeling better at once. "Time to teach you crooks a lesson" said Aaron. He ordered Drapion to attack Seviper with hyper beam, Scizor to attack Weavile with bullet punch, Vespiquen to attack Carnivine with slash and Heracross attack Roserade with mega horn. Teams Rocket's pokemon got hit good.

Suddenly the gust of wind came back again; Meowth had fixed the machine and balloon. "Time to get back our prizes" said Meowth. Brock quickly returned Probopass so it wouldn't get sucked in. Aaron quickly held onto Drapion and Vespiquen, while Scizor, Heracross and Yanmega grabbed him. Pikachu, Growlithe, Piplup and Skorupi grabbed onto a branch of a tree to save themselves. "Hang on all of you!" shouted Ash. "Grr we have to stop this" growled Brock. Meowth turned up the power of the machine to make it stronger. Aaron, the gang and their pokemon were all in big trouble.

But then a solar beam attack came and it destroyed the machine and balloon for good. The solar beam attack came from a Beautifly. "Look at that Beautifly," said Brock "the solar beam must have come from it". Aaron started to have a funny feeling because of the Beautifly. "Is that you Wurmple?" he asked "you evolve into a Beautifly". Beautifly nodded yes; it was indeed Aaron's old friend. The gang couldn't believe it. "So Beautifly evolved from Wurmple and came back home after all this time" said Dawn. Beautifly started to talk. "Beautifly says it wanted to get stronger and help me so it went off all by itself to train" said Aaron. "So that means your friendship with Wurmple didn't end after you left it," said Ash "it wanted to come back to you after it got stronger".

Team Rocket wasn't giving up and ordered Seviper, Weavile, Carnivine and Roserade to attack again. Of course Aaron had Vespiquen, Drapion, Scizor and Yanmega attack them and Seviper, Weavile, Carnivine and Roserade got defeated quickly. Then Pikachu, Piplup, Growlithe and Beautifly sent Team Rocket flying again with thunderbolt, bubble beam, flamethrower and solar beam. Aaron thanked Beautifly for its help and had it become on his team again. And this time he promised they would be a team forever. Beautifly happily accepted of course because it always wanted to be with Aaron again. The gang were happy Aaron had his old friend back again; Aaron's team was bigger and better.

After that the gang got ready to leave. "Well Aaron we'll be watching you and Cynthia on TV when you have your battle" said Dawn. "I promise you I will give it all I got" said Aaron. The gang said goodbye to Aaron and his pokemon, then went on their way. Today had been a great day for the gang; they met Aaron of the elite four and watched the reunion between him and Beautifly.

One day Cynthia and Aaron were having their champion battle. Cynthia sent out her Garchomp while Aaron sent out his Drapion. Millions of people were watching at the stadium and on television. In a pokemon center Paul was watching the battle on TV. At that moment the gang turned up just in time to watch the battle. Paul noticed the gang but wasn't interested in them at the moment. Ash noticed Paul too but he too was only interested in the battle at the moment. In the end the final battle was down to Gastrodon battling Beautifly; Garchomp had been defeated, but so had Aaron's Drapion, Vespiquen, Heracross, Yanmega and Scizor. Beautifly was Aaron's final pokemon. Aaron ordered Beautifly to use solarbeam, but Gastrodon used stone edge to defend itself against the attack, then the stone edge attack hit Beautifly. Beautifly fainted from the attack and Aaron lost. Cynthia was keeping her title as the Sinnoh champion.

Team Rocket was watching the match too. They had disguised themselves as pokemon center workers. "Well, well, well that Aaron got defeated by Cynthia" smirked James. "His pokemon didn't have a chance" smirked Jessie. "I thank the champion for teaching him a lesson for us" smirked Meowth, remembering how Aaron defeated them when they met.

"Gosh so even Aaron can't beat Cynthia huh?" said Ash. "Especially after all that training and being excited of having his Beautifly back" said Dawn. "I believe Cynthia won't be losing her title for a long time" said Brock. "Somehow I think even the other pokemon champions in the world would find it hard to beat her" said Ash. Just then Paul turned up. "Paul" said Ash. Paul didn't say a word and walked away. "What's it with him this time?" said Tomo. "No idea" said Ash. "As he was watching the battle I wonder if he remembers the battle he had with Cynthia" said Paul. "Wouldn't surprise me really," said Ash "especially since Garchomp didn't even break a sweat against all of Paul's pokemon". The others agreed.

A moment later the gang went outside to train. Ash's Turtwig was running around like crazy. "What's wrong with Turtwig?" asked Dawn. "Ah he's trying to make himself stronger to be like my Venasaur;" said Ash "you see my Venasaur is the peacemaker at Prof Oak's lab as well as one of my strongest pokemon. Turtwig wants to be like Venasaur". "Oh I see," said Dawn "hey Ash could I see your Venasaur? I've like to see it myself". "Sure I'll bring him here right away" said Ash. Ash got out his pokedex and switched his Gliscor for Venasaur. Then he released Venasaur from the pokeball. "Hi Venasaur" said Ash, giving him a hug. Venasaur was happy to see Ash. "Oh wow Ash, your Venasaur is amazing" said Dawn. She stroked his head and Piplup greeted him.

What Ash didn't know was Paul had been watching him and saw Venasaur. Brock noticed Paul and went over to him. "That Venasaur" said Paul. "Ash caught Venasaur when it was a Bulbasaur during his first pokemon journey in Kanto" said Brock. Paul stared at Venasaur some more and walked over to it. Ash and Dawn were fussing over Venasaur when Paul turned up. "Paul, what's up?" asked Dawn. Paul ignored Dawn. "Your Venasaur," he said to Ash "I take it it's strong right?" "Yes Venasaur is strong thank you," said Ash "and I will prove it in a pokemon battle". Venasaur growled. "Very well," said Paul "I'd like to see how your Venasaur does against my Torterra". "Agreed" said Ash.

It wasn't long till Ash and Paul were at their positions and Venasaur and Torterra were ready to fight. "Why am I not surprised that Ash and Paul would battle each other when they meet up again" said Dawn. Piplup chirped in agreement. "Paul's going to be sorry this time," said Tomo "Venasaur is no pushover". "Yes, especially since it's part poison type too" said Brock. Ash's Turtwig wanted to watch the battle so he stayed by Pikachu's side. Unbeknown to everyone Jessie, James and Meowth were spying. "Well, well it seems a pokemon battle is about to begin" said James. "Let's watch it" said Meowth, who was eager to know what would happen. Jessie and James agreed to the idea.

Paul started off by telling Torterra to use hyper beam, but Ash ordered Venasaur to use protect. "Venasaur use power whip" said Ash. Venasaur attacked Torterra with power whip and of course Torterra just took the hit. "Hmph not bad I guess," said Paul, rudely, "Torterra use crunch". Torterra went to Venasaur to bite down on it. "Venasaur tackle it" said Ash. Venasaur and Torterra collided with each other; Venasaur trying to push Torterra with Torterra trying to push Venasaur back. "Venasaur and Torterra are both strong" said Brock. "Venasaur use sludge bomb" said Ash. "Leaf storm Torterra" said Paul. The two grass pokemon fired their attacks at each other and they both got hit from the attacks. "You okay Venasaur?" asked Ash. Venasaur was nowhere beaten yet. Paul ordered Torterra to use hyper beam again, but Venasaur used solar beam to counter the attack. As it was a very sunny day, Venasaur could use solar beam without having to charge up. "Good thing Venasaur knows solar beam," said Dawn "I don't think Venasaur would have been able to dodge the hyper beam attack". "Uh excuse me Dawn, but Venasaur isn't able to dodge any attacks even if it wanted to" said Tomo. "What do you mean?" asked Dawn. Brock explained that Venasaur was a heavy pokemon and it isn't as fast as it was as a Bulbasaur and Ivysaur. "The truth is Dawn;" said Brock "when it comes to heave pokemon, there are some that move slowly, like Venasaur and Torterra for instance. So when it comes for Venasaur getting attacked he has to protect itself with its own attacks because it can't dodge the enemy". "Oh my" said Dawn, who had no idea. "Venasaur use leech seed" said Ash. Venasaur fired a leech seed attack and Torterra became trapped by the vines. Even with its energy being zapped Torterra wasn't going to let this stop it. "Frenzy plant" said Paul. "You two Venasaur" said Ash. Both Venasaur and Torterra used frenzy plant and they both got hit by the big spikey roots. "Oh man this is a rough and tough battle for sure" said Dawn. "This is what it's like with a battle between two fully evolved starter type pokemon;" said Brock "we've seen battles like this before". "Yeah especially at pokemon leagues" said Tomo. After both pokemon recharged Ash told his Venasaur to use synthesis to heal himself. While that happened Paul had Torterra use giga drain. Venasaur got hit by the giga drain and some of his energy got drained. "Alright Venasaur sludge bomb" said Ash. Venasaur used sludge bomb and Torterra got hit by it.

At that moment Paul called out 'enough', stopping the match all together. "It seems your Venasaur is indeed a worthy pokemon". "It's as I said to you when we first met Paul, don't underestimate me or my pokemon" said Ash. Pikachu, Turtwig and Venasaur called out in agreement. Paul just huffed, returned his Torterra and walked away back into the pokemon center. Ash returned his Venasaur to have him checked in the pokemon center too.

Later that day the gang spent the day with Venasaur more. "Your Venasaur was magnificent against Torterra Ash" said Dawn. "It certainly showed Paul a thing or two" said Tomo. Turtwig was having a little battle with Venasaur himself; not a serious one, more of a training battle. Turtwig tackled Venasaur, but Venasaur pushed him back with his head. "Do excuse me," said Dawn "but Turtwig is going to hurt himself if he does that". "No need to worry Dawn," said Ash "Venasaur is the peace maker at the lab so if Turtwig does too much Venasaur will stop him". "Oh okay" said Dawn.

Suddenly, after getting thrown back from Venasaur, Turtwig started to glow. He grew into a big turtle type pokemon, with two big bushes on its shell. "Wow, Turtwig evolved!" gasped Dawn.

Ash happily looked at the pokemon on his pokedex: Grotle, the grove pokemon. The evolved form of Turtwig. It lives along water in forests. In the daytime, it leaves the forest to sunbathe its treed shell.

Grotle wanted to charge at Venasaur with his new strength, but he noticed that he couldn't run fast as he did as Turtwig. The gang noticed this too. Venasaur fired a razor leaf attack. Grotle tried to dodge it, but he couldn't do it like he did as Turtwig. "Oh-oh," said Tomo, who saw everything, "I can't Grotle is now one of those heavy pokemon who can't move quickly". "You're right Tomo," said Brock "Grotle has a big heavy shell now and that's why it moves quite slowly". Ash stepped forward to his two grass pokemon. "I'm sorry Grotle," he said, rubbing his head, "but I'm afraid you can't move fast anymore in this new form. Venasaur I'll need you to teach Grotle how to attack like you; using attacks to defend itself and how to use his head to push back enemies like you do". Venasaur understood.

Ash decided to show Grotle what Venasaur does in battle with Pikachu and Chimchar. "Okay Grotle pay close attention to this" he said. Grotle nodded yes. "First off Chimchar you use flamethrower". Chimchar blew a flamethrower and Venasaur used protect to defend himself. "Grotle you know protect as well so normally you would have to use to defend yourself, but watch this one. Chimchar flame wheel". Chimchar charged at Venasaur with flame wheel head on, but Venasaur used his head to push Chimchar back. "You see that Grotle, even though you've lost your speed you are still strong, so you can still use your strength to push back the enemy when they charge at you and you still have your attacks to rely on to counter the opponent's attacks". Ash had Pikachu use thunderbolt, but Venasaur used energy ball to counter it. This really was teaching Grotle a lot of things.

Next it was Grotle's turn. "Okay Grotle let's see how good your withdraw attack is" said Ash. Grotle laid down on the ground, tucked in his legs and kept his head down and he glowed green when using withdraw. Chimchar charged with scratch attack but Grotle didn't get much damage thanks to withdraw, even when Chimchar used flamethrower Grotle was still protected by withdraw. "That's good Grotle, okay now let's how you push back for enemy with tackle like how Venasaur did". Chimchar charged at Grotle with flame wheel and Grotle managed to push Chimchar back with his tackle attack. "Great work Grotle, now use synthesis to heal yourself". Grotle used synthesis and recovered. "Okay that's enough now," said Ash at last "Venasaur I think it's time you got back to the lab, I have this feeling that the pokemon ranch at the lab is in a state again. Grotle you will go to the lab too to help Venasaur with his peace making duty and learn from him some more". The two grass pokemon understood. Ash returned them to the pokeballs and sent them back to the lab.

"I have to say," said Dawn "I know you boys told me before that older pokemon make very good teachers for newer pokemon. But that was sure a lot of teaching". "Well Dawn there will be a time when your pokemon will become teachers for your new pokemon in the future" said Brock. "I must ask Ash," said Dawn "what did you mean when you said the lab would be in a state again?" "Well Dawn," said Ash "all the pokemon who live at the ranch always quarrel over everything; property, food, etc. So there are times when Venasaur has to kick in and stop the quarrelling". "Oh I see, that sounds scary" said Dawn. "Trust me it is" said Ash.

Unbeknown to the gang, Torterra had been watching Venasaur and Grotle the whole time by some trees. It considered Venasaur a worthy rival for itself and felt Grotle would be the same.

Sorry for the wait. Sorry if readers wanted me to do a chapter about the gang meeting up with Angie again, but I didn't like that episode so I wanted to skip it.
