Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.

Darkrai and Cresselia,
The Naughty Rotom
And the trouble with Piloswine & Mamoswine
Some things happened after Ash and Tomo finally got their fifth badges from Fantina. First of all Tomo captured a wild Skuntank. Second Barry and the gang had another encounter with Team Rocket trying to steal their pokemon again, but of course the trio got blasted off again. Then Barry left the gang to train on Iron Island.
Today the gang made it to Canalave City, where the sixth gym was. The Canalave Gym was made out of iron and steel, so it nearly looked like a factory building. Ash called out to the gym, asking for a gym battle, but no one answered. "Is no one here?" asked Dawn. Before her question could be answered a loud scream was coming from inside the gym. "What on earth?" said Ash.
Just then a man came out of the gym and he looked very tired; he even had dark circles under his eyes. "Oh hi there" said the man, once he saw the gang. "Hi there," said Ash "um were you screaming just now?" "Oh you heard that?" asked the man "I'm sorry about that but I was having a nightmare and it was really horrible. To tell you the truth I haven't been sleeping well for a while because of these nightmares". "Oh okay," said Ash "um is the gym leader here by any chance? My brother and I wish to battle him for a badge". "Oh I'm sorry kid by I'm afraid the gym leader isn't here," said the man "you see he's training on iron island and he won't be back for a few days". Ash and Tomo couldn't believe they had to wait again for another gym battle. Suddenly the man started nodding off to sleep and he ended up screaming because of a nightmare. "Oh sorry about that, come back another time" said the man, and he went back inside the gym.
"That man was acting weird to me" said Tomo. "Yes especially since he said he hadn't slept for a while" agreed Dawn. "There's something else weird too" said Ash. The gang were walking through the city, but nobody was around and all the shops were closed. "According to the guide book it's always busy around here in Canalave City" said Brock. "Well it's certainly isn't busy here, something's not right" said Dawn. "Hmm," said Brock, thoughtfully, "let's go and see Officer Jenny; I'm sure she can tell us what's going on".
Brock was right because once the gang went to the police station Officer Jenny told the gang exactly what was wrong. She said that every year a Darkrai visits Canalave City and gives everybody nightmares. "Well that's a big nightmare to have" said Ash. He remembered what a Darkrai was like. Officer Jenny also explained that at the same time a Cresselia, who lived on an island called Fullmoon Island near Canalave City, would appear at the same as Darkrai, and Cresselia would use its powers to dispose all of the nightmares. "But Darkrai turned up early this year and Cresselia hasn't shown up yet at all, so everyone here has kept on getting nightmares for the past couple of days, and not been able to get any sleep" said Officer Jenny. "That explains why that man at the gym was acting weird and why the town was completely empty" said Ash. "Isn't there anything that can be done about this?" asked Dawn. "Well truth be told everyone, including I, have got these Lunar Wings that are supposed to dispel nightmares because they come from Cresselia, but they don't seem to be working" said Officer Jenny. She showed the gang a light yellow and green feather. "Can I have a look at that please Officer Jenny?" asked Brock. Brock had a look at the so called Lunar Wing with a magnifying glass. "Wait a minute," he said "this is a fake! This isn't a Lunar Wing; it's an ordinary Pidgey feather that's been painted to look like a Lunar Wing". Officer Jenny got very cross when she heart that; she had paid with money for her fake Lunar Wing. "It's arresting time!" she shouted, and ran out of the police station. "Let's follow Officer Jenny" said Brock, and the gang agreed.
In the park of Canalave City Team Rocket, disguised as merchant sellers, were selling fake Lunar Wings to people. Meowth gave out his last one to a man, but Jessie promised the remaining customers they would get some more. Jessie and Meowth went into the tent. In the tent was James making fake Lunar Wings by painting some Pidgey feathers. "Hurry up James we need more of the fake Lunar Wings" said Jessie. "I could hurry up if you two were helping me, I've only got two hands you know" complained James. "I have to say this machine of ours has done really good" said Meowth. In the tent was a strange looking machine; Team Rocket created it to make everyone in the city have nightmares. "Yes it has, but we haven't got a good night's sleep ourselves ever since we created it" said Jessie. It was true because the machine made Jessie and James and Meowth get nightmares too. "Never mind," said Meowth "after we sell our fake Lunar Wings to all the people in this city we'll stop the machine and leave".
"You'll be leaving alright," said a voice "to jail that is". The voice came from Officer Jenny. She heard everything Team Rocket said and was ready to arrest them. Jessie, James and Meowth took off their disguises and revealed themselves. "Why am I not surprised Team Rocket would be behind of this scheme?" asked Dawn. "Because they're the type of people who would like to take money off people unfairly like this" answered Brock. Team Rocket was cross their plan had been foiled again. Ash ordered Pikachu to use thunderbolt, which not only sent Team Rocket blasting off it also destroyed the nightmare making machine.
Officer Jenny was grateful to the gang for helping her solve the mystery of the nightmares, and getting rid of Team Rocket's machine. She invited the gang over for dinner and to let them stay the night at her place. The gang accepted it at once.
That night everyone was sleeping soundly but then Ash began to have a very scary nightmare. He dreamt he and Pikachu got dragged into the ground and they went down a very long, dark hole. Then at the end of the hole there was a big, shadowy figure which Ash recognized right away.
It wasn't long till everyone woke up screaming. Dawn, Tomo, Brock and even Officer Jenny had the same nightmare like Ash did. "Why are we getting nightmares?" asked Dawn "we destroyed Team Rocket's machine". "It's Darkrai for real this time," said Ash "I saw its shadow in the dream". "If you're right about that Ash, then we must go Fullmoon Island and find Cresselia" said Officer Jenny. Officer Jenny had a police boat at the harbour and she set off for Fullmoon Island with the gang right away.
What they didn't know was Team Rocket was following them in their Magikarp Submarine. "Fullmoon Island ahead" said James. "Rumoured to be the home of Cresselia" said Meowth. "If we get our hands on Cresselia and give it to the boss we'll get a big raise" said Jessie. "What about the real Darkrai?" asked Meowth "shall we get that one as well?" "Yes, the boss would like that" answered Jessie. "Let's just hope though it doesn't give anyone at headquarters nightmares" said James. "If it does that Cresselia will deal with it" said Jessie.
By now Officer Jenny had driven the boat through a cave which led to the entrance for Fullmoon Island. Everyone got off the book and started to look for Cresselia. Officer Jenny explained that whenever Darkrai appeared, Cresselia would appear on a shrine on top of Fullmoon Island. Suddenly they saw a glow coming from some rocks. Ash went over to it and found a real Lunar Wing. "Looks like Cresselia dropped this feather not that long ago" said Brock, admiring the feather. Brock showed the feather to Growlithe and Growlithe smelt it to find Cresselia's scent. Dawn sent out her Swinub to help find Cresselia's scent too. Growlithe and Swinub ran up some hills till they came to a big rock shaped like a crescent moon. "There it is Cresselia's shrine" said Officer Jenny.
At that moment what looked like the northern lights appeared in the sky and then a beautiful yellow, pink and blue pokemon appeared. It was Cresselia. "What a beautiful pokemon" said Dawn.
Dawn looked at Cresselia on her pokedex: Cresselia, the Lunar Pokemon. Those who sleep holding Cresselia's feather are assured of joyful dreams. It is said to represent the crescent moon.
Team Rocket saw Cresselia too and made their move to try and catch it. Meowth pressed a button on a remote and a net came out of the submarine. The net flew up towards Cresselia and trapped it.
"What just happened!?" shouted Officer Jenny. She ran over towards the net to help Cresselia and the gang followed. But before they could even get to Cresselia, Team Rocket appeared with their submarine which now had some metal legs. "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, sorry but you won't be getting anywhere near our catch" laughed Jessie. "It's you three again!" shouted Officer Jenny "release Cresselia now!" "No can do I'm afraid" said James. Meowth pressed another button on the remote and some nets came out of the sub and it trapped Officer Jenny and the gang. Only Growlithe and Swinub didn't get trapped in the net. Team Rocket laughed and called this a chance to take Cresselia away with them. Growlithe and Swinub weren't going to allow that to happen and got ready to fight.
Growlithe started the fight first by releasing flamethrower and Swinub released mud bomb. But the submarine didn't get a lot of damage. "Don't even try you two," said Meowth "our submarine is stronger than it ever was in the past. So your attacks are useless". Growlithe and Swinub weren't giving up yet and they attacked the submarine's mechanical legs and arms with flame wheel and take down. But it still didn't stop the submarine. Meowth made the arms move to whack Growlithe and Swinub out of the way. "Don't do anymore Growlithe and Swinub!" shouted Tomo "you two are no match for that machine!" "Yes please stop!" shouted Dawn.
Suddenly Swinub glowed and evolved into a Piloswine. Team Rocket was in trouble now because Piloswine was now stronger than it was as a Swinub. Piloswine attacked the submarine with take down again and this time the submarine went flying along with Team Rocket. Officer Jenny and the gang released themselves from the nets at once. Dawn ran over to Piloswine and hugged him. "You were wonderful Piloswine, thank you" she said. Officer Jenny and Ash released Cresselia from the net at once. Cresselia was grateful. "Cresselia please release the people of Canalave City from Darkrai's nightmares" said Officer Jenny. Cresselia started to fly away. "Where's Cresselia going?" asked Dawn. "It must be heading for Canalave City to look for Darkrai" said Brock. "We need to get back to Canalave City at once" said Officer Jenny. She and the gang got back to the boat and made their way back to the city.
Cresselia flew to the park of Canalave City and once it got there it shone a bright light. Then at that moment a Darkrai came out of the shadows to face Cresselia. Just then Officer Jenny and the gang turned up. "Look it's Darkrai" said Tomo.
Dawn looked at Darkrai on her pokedex: Darkrai, the pitch-black pokemon. It can lull people to sleep and make them dream. It is active during nights of the new moon.
"So I was right it was a Darkrai who gave us those nightmares" said Ash. "But why did it come now?" said Officer Jenny.
Before Officer Jenny's question could be answered, two hyper beam attacks came out of nowhere and they hit both Darkrai and Cresselia. "Where did that come from?!" shouted Dawn. The hyper beam attacks came from two Aerodactyls. "Where did these Aerodactyls come from?" said Officer Jenny. "They are mine" said a voice. The voice came from a middle aged man wearing a jungled theme outfit. (Clothing men like mcleach in rescuers down under) "I know you, you're Lex Oswald aren't you?" said Officer Jenny. "Indeed I am," said Lex "and I'm honoured to know that you know me Officer Jenny". Officer Jenny explained to the gang that Lex was a poacher who went around catching rare pokemon in the wild. "I thank you for bringing Cresselia here Officer Jenny," said Lex "now I have the chance to catch both Darkrai and Cresselia. It's also thanks to those goofy Team Rocket members that Darkrai turned up. The electronic magnesium from their nightmare making machine is what lured Darkrai to come here earlier than it usually does". "That does make sense" Brock whispered to the others. "Now if you lot don't mind I have a Darkrai and Cresselia to catch" said Lex. "Oh no you don't!" shouted Ash.
Before Ash could even grab a pokeball, his Cranidos and Shieldon popped out of their pokeballs. "Cranidos and Shieldon, do you two want to battle the Aerodactyls?" asked Ash. The two rock pokemon did indeed. "Okay you two get ready". Lex found it funny that the Cranidos and Shieldon wanted to battle his Aerodactyls, considering how small they were. But he agreed to it. "Aerodactyls fire your hyper beam attacks at those two small rock pokemon" he said. The two Aerodactyls fired their hyper beam attacks towards Cranidos and Shieldon, but the two rock pokemon used dig to escape the attacks. "Cranidos, Shieldon use ice beam" said Ash. Cranidos and Shieldon released a double ice beam attack at the Aerodactyls, but the Aerodactyls dodged the attacks. Cranidos and Shieldon fired their ice beam attacks again at the Aerodactyls but they missed again. "Aerodactyls use giga impact" said Lex. The Aerodactyls charged towards Cranidos and Shieldon and tackled them with giga impact. "Oh no Cranidos and Shieldon!" shouted Ash. Poor Cranidos and Shieldon ended up badly hurt from the attack. "Ash you better return Cranidos and Shieldon and use another pokemon to fight the Aerodactyls," said Brock "Cranidos and Shieldon won't be able to hold on if they get hit again". Ash knew Brock was right and took out their pokeballs to return them.
But before Ash could return Cranidos and Shieldon, the two fossil pokemon started to glow. Cranidos evolved into Rampardos while Shieldon evolved into a big dinosaur type pokemon, with a big square head that looked like a castle wall, spikes over its head and ridges and plates all over its body. "Wow," said Brock "not only did Cranidos evolve into a Rampardos, Shieldon evolved into a Bastiodon".
Dawn looked at Bastiodon on her pokedex: Bastiodon, the shield pokemon. The evolved form of Shieldon. When attacked, they form a wall. Their rock-hard faces serve to protect them from the attacks.
"Let's try out your new powers shall we Rampardos and Bastiodon?" asked Ash. The two fossil pokemon roared to say yes. "Okay then, Bastiodon use flash cannon and Rampardos use dragon pulse". Rampardos and Bastiodon fired their attacks and this time the Aerodactyls got hit by the attacks. Lex of course wasn't happy by that and ordered his two Aerodactyls to use giga impact again. "Counter that with iron head Rampardos and Bastiodon" said Ash. Rampardos and Bastiodon charged at the two Aerodactyls and collided with them. "Don't give up yet Rampardos and Bastiodon!" shouted Ash "use ice beam". Rampardos and Bastiodon didn't give up and they fired a double ice beam attack. This time the two Aerodactyls got hit by the ice beam attacks and they froze into blocks of ice. Lex couldn't believe what happened and tried to run away, but Pikachu stopped him by shocking him with thunderbolt. "Lex Oswald you're under arrest" said Officer Jenny, placing handcuffs on his wrists. The two Aerodactyls were returned to their pokeballs and Officer Jenny said she would decide what to do with them later.
Ash and Brock rushed over to Darkrai and Cresselia to see if they were okay, and they were. At that moment Darkrai and Cresselia were flying around in a circle together. "Are they going to battle?" asked Tomo. "I don't know I haven't seen this behaviour from them before" answered Officer Jenny. Cresselia shone a light down on Ash while Darkrai landed on Ash's shadow. "What are they doing with Ash?" asked Dawn. "I don't know but let's see what happens" said Officer Jenny. At first Ash stayed silent and still while looking at the lunar duo pokemon. But then he took out two dusk balls from his pocket and tossed them at Cresselia and Darkrai. The lunar duo pokemon were caught in a second. "Ash what have you done?" asked Dawn. "Cresselia and Darkrai wanted me to catch them which is why they surrounded me," answered Ash. Officer Jenny and the others couldn't believe it, but accepted it at once. "I trust you will take care of Darkrai and Cresselia, Ash?" asked Officer Jenny. "Of course Officer Jenny" answered Ash.
So with the surprising captures of Darkrai and Cresselia, Canalave City would finally get some much needed sleep.
After the excitement with Darkrai and Cresselia, the gang were waiting at the pokemon center for the gym leader to come back. Right now they were talking to Prof Oak on the video phone. Prof Oak was telling Ash about his Darkrai and Cresselia starting to settle down and things and he also the gang about a sweet treat called the old gateau. The old gateau was a purple cake. Prof Oak also told the gang near Canalave City there was a house called the Old Chateau where they make old gateau. The gang became interested and decided to go to the old chateau.
But the gang weren't the only ones interested about the old gateau. Team Rocket had listened in of what Prof Oak said and they wanted to have some old gateau too. So Team Rocket made their way to the old chateau before anyone else got there; the old chateau was a big place. "Hmm this place looks like it's closed for the day" said Jessie. "No problem, just leave this to me" said Meowth. He went up to the door and used his claw to unlock the lock. "Good work Meowth" said Jessie, and the trio went in. Once the trio got inside the chateau they noticed how dark it was inside. James tried to turn a light on but nothing happened. "Looks like the power is off in this place" he said. "That must be the reason why it's closed" said Meowth. "Come on let's just look for the old gateau and get out of here" said Jessie.
At that time the gang were making their way towards the old chateau when they got stopped by a workman. The workman explained that the electricity in the chateau was out due to a storm they had a couple of days ago so it was closed. He even told them about rumours of ghosts haunting the chateau and about scary strange things the ghosts did. Then he left. "What on earth was that man talking about?" asked Dawn. "Ah it's probably just about a Gastly, Haunter or any other ghost type pokemon haunting that place," said Ash "Tomo, Brock and I have visited places that were said to be haunted before. But all they were all just some ghost pokemon living there". "That makes sense" said Brock, remembering those times as well. "So what shall we do now?" asked Dawn. "Well as we nearly at the old chateau, let's just go and see it anyway," said Brock "after all there's no point going back to the pokemon center without having a look at the chateau". The others agreed.
Meanwhile Team Rocket was looking around a kitchen for the old gateau, but they couldn't anything accept lots of empty cupboards. "Urgh I thought this place was where they make the old gateau" said Jessie, who was getting impatient. "Well since this place is closed I doubt they will have it here," said James "unless we have to make it ourselves". "But where's the ingredients, recipes and stuff though?" asked Meowth. "I don't know, just keep looking" said Jessie. The trio didn't find any old gateau no matter how hard they looked. "I give up" said Meowth. He was so annoyed he ended up kicking a microwave by accident.
At that moment the microwave turned into an orange microwave with a very creepy smile. "What did you do Meowth?!" commanded Jessie. "Hey it was only an accident!" Meowth shouted back. The microwave started releasing fire at the trio. Then the microwave changed into an orange fridge with the same creepy smile and started to release a blizzard. "Run!" shouted James. The trio ran away as fast as they could. With the crazy fridge about, the trio had no time to search for the exit. So they quickly opened up a window and climbed out, and then ran away from the old chateau as fast as they could. They clearly couldn't bear to stay in a place with a crazy microwave and fridge.
Once the gang entered the chateau Ash used his aura to see if there were any ghost type pokemon around. "Well I don't sense anything here so I think its ghost pokemon free" said Ash, at last. "Well that's good then" sighed Dawn. "Yes but the power is off so what exactly should we do?" asked Ash. Before his question could be answered the lights came on. "Oh the power's back on" said Dawn. Just then an automatic voice spoke through a speaker saying; 'welcome to the old chateau, this is where you can make your own old gateau'. "Oh so this place must have the recipe for the old gateau" said Brock. "Well what are we waiting for?" smiled Dawn.
The gang entered a kitchen where you had to make the old gateau. A recipe and the ingredients for the old gateau appeared out from a kitchen hob. "Great since the ingredients and recipe are here I can start making the old gateau" said Brock. "While you do that Brock, Tomo and I will train for the gym outside in the garden" said Ash. "And I will practice for the next pokemon contest" said Dawn. "Alright you leave it to me, and I will come and find you when it's done" agreed Brock.
Outside in the garden Tomo and Ash were practicing with their pokemon for their matches against the gym leader. Tomo had his Chimchar out because he wanted to use him for the battle. "Okay Chimchar show me your flamethrower" said Tomo. Chimchar fired flamethrower while Growlithe dodged the attack. "Excellent Chimchar, your flamethrower is growing stronger and stronger" smiled Tomo. Chimchar liked getting praised by Tomo; it made him remember that Tomo wasn't like his original owner. Chimchar fired another flamethrower but the attack hit a lawnmower. "Oh no!" shouted Tomo, running over to the lawnmower. "Oh dear" said Ash, who saw what happened.
Suddenly the lawnmower changed into an orange lawnmower with a scary smiley face. Then the lawnmower somehow turned itself on, showed its teeth off and started to chase the two brothers and their pokemon. "What's happening?!" shouted Tomo. "I don't know but quick back into the chateau!" shouted Ash. The small group quickly ran back into the chateau. Ash peeked through a window to see if the crazy lawnmower was still after them, but the lawnmower was now normal again. "That was weird" said Ash. Tomo and the pokemon agreed.
Meanwhile Dawn was in another room of the chateau and she was practicing contest moves with Piplup and Buneary. She was having Buneary practice her dizzy punch. But then she felt a cool air on her. An electric fan was on giving off cool air. "That's funny," said Dawn "I don't remember a fan being there. Oh well might as well turn it off". After turn it off she asked Piplup to use bubble beam. But then a stronger cool wind interrupted. A orange fan with the same creepy smile Ash saw started flying about and giving off more cool air. Dawn, Piplup and Buneary ran away in fright. "I did turn off that fan!" shouted Dawn.
Dawn and her pokemon continued to run away when they suddenly ran into Ash, Pikachu, Growlithe and Tomo. Chimchar was back into the pokeball now. Ash and Tomo told Dawn about the crazy lawnmower while Dawn told the boys about the crazy fan. "It seems that worker was telling the truth about this place being haunted" said Dawn. "Yes and this is certainly no work of any Gastly, Haunter, Shuppet or Duskull I can promise you that" said Ash. "Hey what about Brock?" said Dawn. "Yeah we have to tell and warn him about this" agreed Tomo.
Before the group could start going back to the kitchen they saw a lawnmower. "No don't tell me" said Ash. It was the same lawnmower as before and it changed into the crazy one again. The group ran away as fast as they could, climbing up some stairs. "We need to get back to the kitchen soon to tell Brock" panted Ash. "We better try the back way" suggested Dawn. But a washing machine was standing in the hallway. The washing machine changed into an orange washing machine and it began to chase the group, firing water from the hose pump. Tomo saw an elevator and the group went inside it at once. So for now they were safe. "Be careful everyone," said Dawn "we don't know where that crazy thing will appear next". Everyone else agreed. Once the elevator got to the first floor it looked like the coast was clear. But then the crazy fan Dawn met up before appeared again and started chasing the group. The group ran towards the kitchen where Brock was at once.
Brock had finished with making the old gateau and placing it in the freezer to set, when the group burst in. "You lot look like you've seen a ghost" said Brock. "That because we did!" shouted Tomo. He, Ash and Dawn told Brock about the crazy lawnmower, fan and washing machine. But Brock didn't believe them. "Come on all of you," he said "let's have the old gateau. That will make you all calm down". He took out the old gateau from the fridge.
Unfortunately the fridge changed into the orange fridge Team Rocket met before. Brock saw this and he was spooked too. The fridge released a blizzard and the gang ran away. "What is that?!" shouted Brock. "We don't know but it isn't friendly" answered Tomo. The crazy fridge turned into the crazy microwave again and it released fire at the group. "Okay I've had enough!" shouted Ash. He ordered Pikachu to use thunderbolt and Dawn ordered Piplup to use bubblebeam. The microwave stopped attacking, and then a small orange pokemon with blue outlines came out of the microwave. "What is that?" said Ash.
He looked at it on the pokedex: Rotom, the plasma pokemon. Its electric-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief.
"So it was really the work of this pokemon that caused a lawnmower, a fan, a washing machine, a fridge and a microwave to attack us?" said Dawn. Rotom changed into a lawnmower again and the gang ran away from it again. "Come on let's go outside" said Brock. Rotom quickly changed into the washing machine and fired water at the gang just as they exited the chateau. Ash had Pikachu attack Rotom with thunderbolt, while Dawn released Pachirisu and Tomo released his Carnivine. Pachirisu used discharge while Carnivine used bullet seed. Rotom got defeated by the three attacks.
Dawn felt sorry for Rotom. "Okay why did it scare us like that?" she asked. "Well since Rotom is a ghost type it's its nature to be very naughty, surely you know that Dawn" said Ash. "True" Dawn admitted. Rotom performed one more act of naughtiness. It released a discharge attack and it caused both Dawn's hair, Ash's hair, Tomo's hair and Brock's hair to go all wrong. Then Rotom ran away laughing. "Oh that naughty Rotom!" shouted Dawn, in frustration.
Meanwhile Team Rocket was moping around because they didn't find any spare old gateau. "Oh and I wanted to have a slice of that special cake too" moaned James. "Me too" moaned Meowth. "Oh enough already!" shouted Jessie "we'll just go find something else special to eat!" shouted Jessie. Suddenly Jessie saw something. She saw a mobile shop on wheels and it was selling old gateau slices. The trio made a run to the mobile shop and brought some old gateau slices at once. And of course they gobbled the slices at once. "This is heaven" sighed James. "Thank the lord for that old gateau mobile shop" sighed Jessie. Team Rocket was happy again to have finally gotten some old gateau.
Meanwhile the gang was enjoying their old gateau too. "This is so good I want more" said Tomo. "Me too" said Ash. "It was worth the wait and effort for this cake" said Brock. So despite the gang had to deal with a very naughty Rotom, the gang's day turned out to be happy because of the old gateau.
After dealing with the naughty Rotom at the old Chateau the gang were back at the pokemon center, still waiting for the gym leader to return. Right now they were watching TV, which was showing news about pokemon contests. Marian was talking about Kenny having three contest ribbons and Nando having four. She even revealed about the next pokemon contest being held at a place called Chocovine Town. "Well at least we know where to go next after we leave Canalave City" said Ash. "You're right Ash and I think I will enter with Piloswine this time" said Dawn. "What will he do the preliminary round or the battle round?" asked Tomo. "Battle round and I will use Clefairy for the appeal round" answered Dawn.
It was time for training and Ash had his Rampardos and Bastiodon out because he decided to use them and Gliscor for the gym battle. Gliscor was out too and she was eager to start training for the gym battle. Ash and Pikachu had to keep telling her to calm down and be patient to her dismay. "Ash and Pikachu really do know how to control his pokemon" said Dawn, who was watching. "Well Ash has been trainer for nearly five years so he knows how to let pokemon know who's boss," said Brock "and Pikachu being Ash's first pokemon knows how to act as leader. Tomo's Growlithe knows how to do that too since he's Tomo's first pokemon". Piplup, being a proud and overconfident type, chirped out that he knows how to act as a leader too. (Unfortunately for Piplup, as you readers know, he still has a lot to learn)
Dawn sent out Piloswine and him to use ice shard, but Piloswine didn't do it. Dawn thought Piloswine must not have heard her command and told him to use mud bomb instead. But again Piloswine didn't do anything. Even when Dawn asked Piloswine to do a different attack he still didn't do anything. Ash, Tomo and Brock saw everything. "Oh-oh Brock," said Ash "Piloswine has gone into that stage of disobedience after evolving from Swinub". "Yes you're right" agreed Brock. "Oh dear" said Tomo. Piplup walked over to Piloswine to tell him to do what Dawn asked him to do, but Piloswine tackled Piplup and used dig. "No Piloswine, I didn't tell you to attack Piplup and use dig" moaned Dawn. Piplup went into the hole to try and get Piloswine to come out. But poor Piplup was tackled out of the hole by Piloswine. "Piplup" said Dawn, worriedly. She ran over to Piplup and gave him a hug.
"I don't understand," said Dawn, sadly, "Piloswine wasn't like this when he was Swinub. Why does he disobey me now?" "Dawn there is something that Ash, Tomo and I need to teach you about" said Brock. "What do you mean?" asked Dawn. Ash and Brock explained to Dawn about how a pokemon becomes disobedient after evolving sometimes. "There are some reasons why a pokemon becomes disobedient after evolving;" said Ash "the main reason depends on a trainer's skills. For example if a trainer was an absolute amateur with very poor trainer skills a pokemon becomes disobedient to you because they don't show respect. But there are some cases when a pokemon becomes disobedient depending on the confidence of the pokemon or the bond between the trainer and the pokemon". "You see as you remember Dawn Swinub was shy and not very confident of his abilities," said Brock "but how he's evolved he is very overconfident. So overconfident he believes he has become stronger than any of your other pokemon". "If that is the case then what shall I do" asked Dawn. "Well the first thing to do is to show Piloswine that just because it evolved doesn't mean it's the strongest in your team," said Brock "that means have Piloswine have a pokemon battle". "Okay," said Dawn "but do you boys mind I talk to Piloswine first?" She thought talking to Piloswine will help the situation first before having to battle. "Okay but be careful" said Brock.
So Dawn calmly went over to Piloswine, who had come out of the hole now, to speak to him. "Hey Piloswine," she said "what's the matter huh? Why are you acting like this? You didn't behave like this before so why aren't you doing as you are told now?" Piloswine just ignored her. Piplup got cross with Piloswine for ignoring Dawn and chirped and him loudly. Piloswine just snorted at Piplup which made him crosser. "Come on that's enough Piplup," said Dawn "getting cross isn't going to get us anywhere". Piplup hung his head in shame. "Come on Piloswine, how about we have a battle with Tomo?" said Dawn "I'm sure that will put you into a better mood".
Dawn and Tomo got ready for a pokemon battle. Tomo sent out Chimchar. "Okay Chimchar use ember" said Tomo. "Piloswine dodge it and use mud bomb" said Dawn. Instead of doing what Dawn just said, Piloswine used ice shard to counter the ember attack and tackled Chimchar with fury attack. "Hey Piloswine I didn't tell you to use fury attack," said Dawn "come on use mud bomb this time please". Again Piloswine didn't obey Dawn and used ancient power on Chimchar. "Hey that ancient power must be a new move to Piloswine" said Brock. "Wow that was cool Piloswine, do ancient power again" said Dawn. But Piloswine did mud bomb instead of ancient power and Chimchar got hurt by it. "That's enough!" shouted Dawn, and she returned Piloswine.
Brock gave Chimchar a potion to heal up. "I'm so sorry Tomo," said Dawn "Piloswine really is disobedient". "It's just one of those things Dawn," said Brock "you just need to be patient with Piloswine and it will become friends with you again". "I hope so" sighed Dawn. At the moment she was feeling sure about this. "I will battle with you now Dawn," said Ash "but let me fetch one of my pokemon from Prof Oak first. I have just the pokemon who can put Piloswine in its place". He went into the pokemon center. "What pokemon is Ash going to get?" asked Dawn. Brock and Tomo looked at each other; they had a pretty good idea what pokemon Ash may bring out.
Ash returned quite shortly and he and Dawn got ready to battle. "Now Piloswine please don't go overboard" Dawn pleaded to Piloswine. Ash threw his pokeball and out came his Snorlax. Snorlax had already taken a long nap after eating so he was alright to battle. "Whoa what a big pokemon" said Dawn, looking at Snorlax on her pokedex. "Piloswine is in trouble now" said Tomo. "Yep, especially since its strength can't match Snorlax" said Brock. "Okay Dawn don't worry about Piloswine this time," said Ash "if he does go out of control again Snorlax can deal with it". "Okay if you are sure" said Dawn, nervously. She ordered Piloswine to use ice shard, but Piloswine ignored her again and went in for a takedown attack. "Oh no" said Dawn. But there was no need to worry. When Piloswine tried to tackle Snorlax, Snorlax bounced Piloswine off with his stomach. Dawn was shocked when she saw that. "I thought that would happen" said Tomo. "Me too" said Brock. Piloswine got back up and charged at Snorlax again, but Snorlax pushed it back again. Piloswine started to get angry and kept on snorting. "Piloswine calm down" said Dawn, but Piloswine wasn't listening. Piloswine used ancient power, but Snorlax used rollout to counter the attack and then tackled Piloswine.
At that moment Piloswine glowed and evolved into a Mamoswine. "Oh wow" said Dawn.
She looked at Mamoswine on her pokedex: Mamoswine, the twin tusk pokemon. The evolved form of Piloswine. Its impressive tusks are made of ice. The population thinned when it turned warm after the ice age.
Mamoswine charged at Snorlax with take-down, but of course Snorlax proved to be stronger by pushing Mamoswine back with rollout. "Okay Snorlax finish this off with rock smash please" said Ash. Just as Mamoswine was going to attack again, Snorlax bet him to it by punching Mamoswine very hard with rock smash. This made Mamoswine faint.
Dawn became worried for Mamoswine and wanted to go over to him, but Ash stopped her. Snorlax walked over to Mamoswine and started to talk angrily at him. "What is Snorlax saying?" Dawn asked Ash. "Snorlax is lecturing Mamoswine," answered Ash "it's saying just because Mamoswine evolved does not mean it's stronger anybody else. Snorlax is also pointing out how he proved it by defeating Mamoswine". "It is true;" said Brock "Mamoswine maybe a very heavy pokemon, but Snorlax is the heaviest and even Mamoswine's strength couldn't defeat it". Mamoswine was sulking but Snorlax continued to lecture Mamoswine. "Okay Dawn, return Mamoswine to his pokeball," said Ash "after that lecturing he now needs some time out at Prof Rowan's lab". "You're right" said Dawn.
And so Dawn sent Mamoswine back to Prof Rowan's lab. She phoned Prof Rowan and told him of Mamoswine's behaviour. Prof Rowan said he would keep Mamoswine in the pokeball for a while and then see what to do about him. After the phone called ended Dawn sighed. "Well I guess I won't use Mamoswine in the Chocovine Contest after all" she said. "Never mind Dawn," said Brock "you have other pokemon to use. And remember what we said earlier Mamoswine will become friends with you again soon. Just be patient". Dawn knew Brock was right; giving up on Mamoswine was something she didn't want to do.
Sorry for the wait. I hope you readers like how I had Ash get Darkrai and Cresselia. Lex is my own character. That was the only idea I was happy with. I felt sorry for Team Rocket never getting any old gateau so I decided to have them get it but another way. Ash should have told Dawn about how disobedient his Charizard was in the anime. Mamoswine will start to obey Dawn later. At the moment he will spend a time out at Prof Rowan's lab for a while. Sorry if any readers wanted Ash or Tomo to catch the naughty Rotom, but in my opinion it doesn't suit them.
