Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.

Roark vs Byron,
Ash's Gym Battle 6
And Tomo's Gym Battle 6
Today the gang was making their way back to the Canalave Gym because they heard from Nurse Joy that the gym leader named Byron was back from Iron Island. "It's time now" said Ash. He was looking forward to having a gym battle and so was Tomo. The referee came out of the gym and Ash introduced himself and Tomo to the referee. "I remember you kids from the other day" said the referee. "We heard the Byron was back from Iron Island so we are here to battle him for the gym badge" said Ash. "Byron is here but now is not a good time because his son is visiting" said the referee. "What's that got to do with having a gym battle?" asked Dawn. "Well it's hard to put this," said the referee "but Byron and his son are quite a pair. You see if something goes wrong between the two of them it takes a while for them to fix the problem".
The referee proved his point when he led the gang into the gym. There was a sound of arguing coming from a room where the battle ground was. The battle field had rocks all over it like the Oreburgh Gym did. Two men were shouting at each other over who loved fossils more. To the gang's surprise one of the men was Roark. This meant Roark was Byron's son. The referee called out to Byron to let him know he had two challengers waiting to battle him. "Hi Roark nice to see you again" said Ash. "Hi Ash I was wondering I may see you here" said Roark. "The challenger is your friend?" Byron asked Roark. "Ash and Tomo challenged me back at the Oreburgh Gym and they won badges" answered Roark. Byron stared at the two brothers. "Ash, Tomo I'm sorry but you two will have to wait because I'm not letting this one go," said Roark because when it comes to fossils dad you won't out do me". Byron started to growl in anger. "I'm telling you I love fossils the most and that is that!" he shouted. "No way I do!" shouted Roark, angrily. "Wow Roark and Byron really are a pair" said Tomo, who was feeling a little scared about this.
Byron led Roark and the gang into a room that was filled with fossils. "Wow, what a collection of fossils" said Ash. "I haven't seen anything like it" said Tomo. What impressed Roark the most was a big Anorith fossil that was stored in a glass cabinet. "If I restore this Anorith fossil it will be an Anorith that is bigger than it's normal size," said Byron, proudly, "so give up on trying to beat me with fossils". "I have never seen anything like this big Anorith fossil," said Roark "but when it comes to pokemon restored from fossils nothing tops my Rampardos for sure". "Sorry to have to correct you, but it's my Bastiodon that tops everything" said Byron. He and Roark started to have an argument between Rampardos and Bastiodon. Brock stepped in to stop the fighting and Dawn suggested that Byron and Roark have a battle to see which pokemon was better. Byron and Roark agreed to the idea.
Before the battle was going to start Roark had a chat with the gang in a hallway. "I'm amazed to know that Byron is your dad Roark" said Ash. "Yes and as you just saw we get a bit carried away when it comes to fossils and stuff," said Roark "the reason I came all the way over here was to ask my dad to come back to Oreburgh City for his and my mum's anniversary". Roark explained that his dad used to be the gym leader of Oreburgh Gym. But one day he was asked by the pokemon league to become the gym leader for the gym in Canalave City. He accepted the offer at once because there were fossils to dig up in Canalave City. So he packed up and left, leaving Roark to become the new gym leader of the Oreburgh Gym. "He never even considered about how mum and I felt about him leaving," said Roark, finishing the story, "he only consulted himself when making important decisions and always took the two of us for granted. And the truth is not only are there fossils here in Canalave City, there are a lot of fossils on Iron Island nearby". "Wait so the reason why we waited for him to come back from Iron Island was because he had been digging up fossils" said Ash. "Ash, Tomo I'm really sorry I have to make you two wait more to battle my dad," said Roark "I don't want my dad to out fossil me". Ash and Tomo understood and they wished Roark luck with the battle.
A minute later it was time for Roark to battle his dad. The gang sat on seats in the side lines while Roark and Byron took their place on the battle field. The referee explained it was a one on one pokemon battle. Roark released his Rampardos while Byron sent out a Bastiodon. Ash told Tomo they had to pay close attention to how Byron battles to give them ideas what they will have to do when they battle him.
Roark started off by telling Rampardos to use zen headbutt. Byron ordered Bastiodon to use iron defence and the two fossil pokemon tackled each other with their heads. "Woah this is like a battle between a shield and spear" said Ash. "You're right Ash," said Brock "that iron defense move really knows how to stop attacks". Roark ordered Rampardos to use zen headbutt again, but Bastiodon stopped it with iron defence again and pushed Rampardos back. "I think the shield is going to win" Ash feared. Bastiodon attacked with flamethrower next but Rampardos dodged it. Roark had to admit; his dad really did know how to battle.
While the battle was going on trouble was brewing. Team Rocket was breaking into the gym. They had heard about Byron who collects pokemon fossils, so they wanted to steal the fossils and give them to the boss. "Tell me why we are going to steal these fossils," said Jessie "we have already given fossils to the boss". "Yes but I've heard that these fossils are bigger than any of the fossils we've given to the boss" said James. "James is right look at this" said Meowth, looking at the glass container with the big Anorith fossil. "Wow I've certainly never seen anything like this" said Jessie, impressed with the fossil. "If we take that to the boss he'll have a big Anorith which will evolve into a big Armaldo" said James. "The boss will love that and give us more money" said Meowth. The trio got to work on stealing the fossils.
Back with the pokemon battle Rampardos was starting to feel tired. Roark wasn't going to give up yet and ordered Rampardos to use head smash, while Byron ordered Bastiodon to use iron head. "I fear Roark is going to lose this," said Ash "especially as Bastiodon hasn't even broken a sweat from this battle". "I think you are right Ash, especially as Rampardos has taken damage from using head smash" said Brock. Dawn and Tomo also feared Roark was going to lose too. Roark commanded Rampardos to use flamethrower while Bastiodon used flash cannon to counter the attack. There seemed to be no sign of this battle ever ending.
Suddenly an alarm went off. "What's going on here?" asked Dawn. "Dad what is it?" asked Roark. "That's the expedition room alarm," answered Byron "this battle is over". He returned Bastiodon and went to check the fossil expedition room. Roark returned Rampardos and followed his dad. Ash didn't like the sound of this and he and the gang decided to follow too.
Once everyone got to the fossil expedition room Roark noticed at once there were two big holes on the ground. Byron, being a hole, tunnel and cave maniac, admired the holes and was impressed with that. Roark and the gang couldn't believe that type of attitude. Just then Roark noticed all the fossils were gone and he told his dad at once. Byron was upset at once seeing his collection of fossils gone. Roark jumped down the floor to go after the thief who stole the fossils at once. Byron followed him and so did the gang.
At that time a big orange drilling machine came out of the ground. The machine, of course, belonged to Team Rocket. The machine had mechanical claws and it was carrying a big sack which carried all the fossils Team Rocket stole. "Success!" cheered James, after he and the other two came out of the tunnel. James spoke too soon because Roark, Byron and the gang turned up after following the tunnel. "Why am I not surprised you would be behind this?" asked Ash, angrily. Byron went all childish again by being impressed with Team Rocket's digging machine, but Roark stopped him by reminding him that Team Rocket stole the fossils. Byron got back to his senses and he and Roark ordered Team Rocket to give back the fossils at once. But of course the trio refused.
Byron and Roark sent out Bastiodon and Rampardos to fight Team Rocket. Meowth had the remote for the digging machine ready to fight back, while Jessie held onto the sack of fossils. Bastiodon and Rampardos attacked the machine with iron head and zen headbutt, but of course the machine wasn't beaten yet. Meowth controlled the mechanical claws with the remote and had it fired big stones at Rampardos. "Rampardos use zen headbutt" said Roark. Rampardos used zen headbutt to destroy the stones. But then Meowth had the machine to throw mud at Rampardos and that put Rampardos off. Then Meowth had the machine throw the rocks at Rampardos again. But then Bastiodon got in front and used iron defence to protect Rampardos. "Now you see why I always talk about the values of a good defense!" Byron shouted at his son "listen son it's time you show off that attack you say is so great". Roark understood and ordered Rampardos to use head smash. Rampardos headbutted the machine good but it took damage from the attack and was getting very tired. Ash and Tomo decided this was the perfect time to help. Tomo ordered Growlithe to use fire blast and the machine got a good burn from it. Then Ash ordered Pikachu to use thunder. It made the machine explode and Team Rocket got blasted off, with Jessie letting go of the sack.
More trouble came though after the victory; all the fossils came out of the sack and fell onto the ground. "All those precious fossils!" shouted Byron and Roark all together. They ran to the fossils to check for damage. Luckily none of the fossils were cracked or any other damage. Just then Roark noticed Byron was looking at something. Byron revealed to Roark a small box holding a leaf shaped fossil. "Is that a Sunkern leaf fossil?" said Roark. Just then he remembered something from the past. When Roark was a kid he found a Sunkern leaf fossil at the Oreburgh Mine and he gave it to his dad. "Is that really the same Sunkern fossil?" asked Roark. "It's by far the most important fossil in my collection" said Byron. Roark was happy to hear that. "Then that means you really do care about the family" he said. Byron admitted that he realised if he stayed as the gym leader of Oreburgh City, Roark would always stay as his apprentice. So he thought it would be a fine opportunity for Roark to take the reins of becoming the new Oreburgh gym leader. Roark realized he had been wrong all this time and thanked his dad at once. This meant Roark and Byron had now made amends.
Seeing Roark and Byron reconcile made the gang feel happy for them. "You know this is making me miss my mum," said Dawn "I should call her you know?" "Good idea," said Ash "Tomo and I will phone our mum too to see how she's doing". "I'll phone up my family as well" agreed Brock. Byron turned to Ash and Tomo. "So Ash and Tomo, I will be battling you two next," he said "but the wait's not over. I have to give my Bastiodon a rest up, so how about we wait up till tomorrow". Ash and Tomo understood; they could wait one more day. Roark volunteered to be the referee in both Ash's and Tomo's gym battles as well as wanting to see the gym battles. The gang liked the idea because they had never seen a gym leader referee before. "But Ash and Tomo you two will be earning my badges, the Mine Badges, in a worst way," said Byron "prepare yourselves for the battles of your life". "Okay, just make sure you prepare yourself for when you battle Tomo and me" said Ash.
So with Byron and Roark having made amends with each other, Ash and Tomo could finally look forward to when they battle Byron for their sixth gym badges.
The next day it was finally time for Ash to battle Byron. Byron and Ash took their places on the battle field while Tomo sat with Dawn and Brock on the seats. As Roark was going to referee the gym referee sat in the seats with the others. Roark explained the battle being a three on three pokemon battle and other rules. Byron, being excited, yelled out how much he loved fossils and defence. This was his crazy way of starting a gym battle. "Just wait and see Byron I will get that Mine badge for sure" Ash called out. "That's the kind of spirit I like!" shouted Byron "but if you think this is going to be a walk in the park I've got news for you!" Byron sent out a Bronzor to battle first. Ash decided to send out his Rampardos to battle first. "That Rampardos," said Roark "Ash is that?" "Yes Roark this Rampardos evolved from the Cranidos you resurrected for me" answered Ash. Roark was amazed by this. Brock did point out that rock pokemon were weak against steel pokemon, but he did believe that Ash would know what to do with something like this.
Ash started off by telling Rampardos to use flamethrower. But Bronzor had the ability heatproof. That meant the power of Rampardos's flamethrower was weakened. "Okay let's do this then," said Ash "Rampardos use assurance". Rampardos's head glowed a dark purple and then Rampardos headbutted Bronzor really hard. "That move" said Dawn. "Assurance is a dark type move;" said Brock "an excellent move to use on Bronzor". Byron had a surprise for Rampardos; he ordered Bronzor to use rain dance. It began to rain and Rampardos didn't like it as it was a rock type pokemon. "Rampardos use dig to get out of the rain now" said Ash. Rampardos dug into ground now. Byron was getting impressed with Ash by the minute. The rain stopped and Bronzor wait for Rampardos to come out. "Rampardos get out of the ground and use flamethrower" said Ash. Rampardos came out and blew a flamethrower attack. "Bronzor dodge and use gyro ball" said Byron. Bronzor dodged the flamethrower attack and tackled Rampardos with gyro ball. As gyro ball is a steel type move poor Rampardos got a lot of damage. "This ends now," said Byron "Bronzor use gyro ball again". "Rampardos use assurance" said Ash. The two pokemon charged at each other really hard. In the end Bronzor collapsed, giving Ash the first win.
"Success!" cheered Dawn. "Only two more to go" said Brock. Ash returned Rampardos because he was tired. Byron returned Bronzor. He was starting to really enjoy the battle and started to shout out in excitement. "Ash don't start celebrating yet" warned Roark. "Don't worry Roark I know the battle is just getting going" said Ash. He would know because he had been there lots of times before. Byron sent out a Steelix next and Ash sent out his Bastiodon next. Byron, Roark and the gym referee were surprised to see Ash had a Bastiodon too. "So Shieldon evolved too Ash?" asked Roark. Ash smiled and replied yes. "What are the odds with Bastiodon going against Steelix?" asked Dawn. "Well Bastiodon is a rock and steel type," answered Brock "and Steelix is a ground and steel type. So really Bastiodon has the type disadvantage. But no doubt Ash will try and turn that around". Ash knew he had to be careful because of how Byron knew had to use strong defense strategies, but he wasn't going to let that get him down.
Ash started off by telling Bastiodon to use flash cannon, but Steelix used screech to stop Bastiodon in its tracks. "Hey Roark did that with his Onix back at the Oreburgh Gym" said Tomo. "You're right Tomo, it's obvious Roark picked up that move from his dad" said Dawn. "Don't let that screech get you down Bastiodon, use dig" said Ash. Bastiodon dug into the ground. "That won't stop us, Steelix use iron tail" said Bastiodon. Steelix used iron tail on the ground. It created a big hole and made Bastiodon come out of the ground. Ash gasped. "Okay let's do this, Bastiodon flamethrower" he said. Bastiodon blew a flamethrower attack and it hit Steelix, but Steelix wasn't defeated yet. "That Steelix must be really strong if it can withstand that flamethrower attack" said Dawn. "No doubt Byron has worked hard with Steelix" agreed Brock. "Steelix use iron tail" said Byron. "Dodge it Bastiodon" said Ash. Bastiodon tried to avoid being hit by Steelix's iron tail, but Steelix hit the ground so hard with iron tail that poor Bastiodon got knocked off his feet. "Bastiodon you okay?" Ash called out. Bastiodon was okay, but he was a bit shaken from being knocked off. Before Ash could give Bastiodon an order, Steelix used iron tail again and poor Bastiodon got knocked of the feet again. "If this keeps up Ash won't be able to fight back" said Dawn, worriedly. Ash wasn't going to let this beat him and he ordered Bastiodon to attack with flamethrower again. Bastiodon perked himself up and blew flamethrower at Steelix. The attack hit Steelix good and strong and Steelix couldn't take anymore after that. So Ash won the second round.
Byron returned Steelix. "Yes I can see how you were able to get a badge from my son," he said "but you will be able to beat my Bastiodon". His Bastiodon was called out. Ash remembered how strong Byron's Bastiodon is and he had to be careful. He returned his Bastiodon and sent out Rampardos again. "Why did Ash switch out?" asked Dawn. "Bastiodon is a bit tired from battling Steelix so he's using Rampardos to give Bastiodon some rest" said Brock. "But as Rampardos is a rock type it's a type disadvantage for sure" said Dawn. "Ash will turn that around like he always does" said Tomo, who had faith in Ash.
Ash started off by telling Rampardos to use flamethrower, but Bastiodon used iron defence to protect itself from the flames. "Now Bastiodon iron head" commanded Byron. "Rampardos use zen headbutt" said Ash. The two fossil pokemon collided each other with their heads, but of course Bastiodon proved to be stronger because poor Rampardos got thrown back. "Now use flash cannon" Byron ordered Bastiodon. Bastiodon fired a flash cannon from its mouth and the attack hit Rampardos good. Poor Rampardos was defeated at once from that attack, so Byron won this battle round.
"I'm not surprised that the battle turned out like this" said Dawn. "Ash will win though; he still has two pokemon left" said Tomo. Ash returned Rampardos and sent out Bastiodon again. "Bastiodon vs Bastiodon huh?" said Dawn. "This is going to be a good one" said Tomo.
Ash started off by telling his Bastiodon to use flamethrower, but Byron's Bastiodon used iron defense to defend itself against the flamethrower. "Bastiodon lets go with iron head" said Ash. "You use iron head too Bastiodon" said Byron. The two Bastiodons charged at each other with their heads. "Looking at this is giving me a headache" said Dawn. "I would hate to get in between those two" said Brock. "Don't give up Bastiodon" Ash called to his Bastiodon. "Don't you go backing down either Bastiodon" Byron said to his Bastiodon. The two Bastiodons continued to butt heads with each other. Just then Ash's Bastiodon started to feel tired and it got knocked back by Byron's Bastiodon. "Now Bastiodon use flamethrower" said Byron. Byron's Bastiodon blew a flamethrower attack and Ash's Bastiodon got hit by the flames before it could do anything. Ash's Bastiodon fainted on the spot, giving Byron another victory.
"Wow that Bastiodon of Byron's is no pushover" said Dawn. Tomo could see that he would have to watch out when he battles Byron. "Now Ash only has one pokemon to use" said Brock. Ash returned his Bastiodon and sent out Gliscor. "Gliscor?" said Dawn "wouldn't it have been better if Ash used Chimchar or any other pokemon that could beat Bastiodon?" "I reckon Ash chose Gliscor based on Bastiodon's moves," said Brock "this is Gliscor's first battle, so let's see how this will turn out".
Ash started off by telling Gliscor to use steel wing, but Bastiodon used iron defence which bounced Gliscor off. "Okay Gliscor we'll go with fire fang now" said Ash. Gliscor flew towards Bastiodon to use fire fang, but Bastiodon used iron head to push her away. Poor Gliscor got flown into the sky. "Now Bastiodon use flash cannon" said Byron. Bastiodon fired flash cannon straight towards Gliscor. "Quick open your wings and dodge that Gliscor" said Ash. Gliscor stretched out her wings and she glided out of the way before the flash cannon could hit. As Gliscor's wings were like a glider it was easy for her to glide to get out the way when being attacked. "Grab onto Bastiodon's back" said Ash. Gliscor flew to Bastiodon and held onto its horns. "Now fire fang" said Ash. Gliscor bit Bastiodon's back with fire fang. As fire fang was a fire type move Bastiodon roared out in pain. Gliscor was about to do it again but Bastiodon flung Gliscor off its back. "Time for flash cannon" said Byron. "Quick Gliscor use aqua tail" said Ash. As Bastiodon was about to fire flash cannon, Gliscor knocked Bastiodon off its feet with aqua tail, which made Bastiodon's attack hit a bolder and Bastiodon also got a bit wet by the water type attack. By now both Gliscor and Bastiodon were feeling tired. "Gliscor use brick break" said Ash. "This is how battling should be like," said Byron, who was enjoying the battle by the minute, "Bastiodon iron head". Gliscor managed to hit Bastiodon with her right claw, but she still got headbutted but Bastiodon's iron head. Next Bastiodon went in to use flash cannon, but Gliscor quickly moved out the way to avoid the attack. "Gliscor use sand attack" said Ash. Gliscor whipped up a sandstorm with sand attack and Bastiodon couldn't see Gliscor at all. "Now Gliscor end this with fire fang" said Ash. As poor Bastiodon couldn't see in the sand, Gliscor was able to attack Bastiodon with fire fang. After the sand cleared both Gliscor and Bastiodon were still standing. But then Bastiodon fainted from defeat. Ash was declared the winner of the gym battle.
Gliscor hugged Ash, happy with her victory. Brock, Dawn and Tomo congratulated Ash for his victory. Ash praised Gliscor for how she battled in her very first gym battle and of course that made Gliscor extra happy. Roark also congratulated Ash because he knew how hard it could be sometimes for trainers to defeat his father. Byron presented Ash with a Mine Badge. The mine badge was grey and light brown, shaped like three pickaxes and three stones combined. Ash happily accepted his badge. Byron turned to Tomo. "I will have a gym battle with you tomorrow Tomo as my pokemon are pretty tired after battling Ash" he said. "That's okay with me" said Tomo. This way he had time to think with his strategy.
So Ash finally earned his sixth gym badge from Byron while Tomo still had to wait for his battle with Byron.
The next day it was time for Tomo to battle Byron. Roark wanted to be the referee for the battle again so the gym referee sat in the seats with Ash, Dawn and Brock. "I wonder how this will turn out?" said Dawn. "Well as Tomo saw how Byron battled against me yesterday, Tomo will definitely know what he will be up against" said Ash. "Yes but Tomo will still have a hard time because of how strong Byron is" said Brock. Ash and Dawn agreed.
Byron sent out Bronzor while Tomo sent out his Shedinja. "Why use a bug type against Bronzor?" asked Dawn. "That's because Shedinja is also part ghost type like Bronzor is part psychic type as well as steel type," answered Brock "and of course Bronzor's ability heatproof is useless against ghost type moves". "Ah I get it now" said Dawn. Tomo started the battle by telling Shedinja to use shadow ball, but Bronzor dodged the attack and then attacked Shedinja with extrasensory. But the attack didn't do anything to Shedinja at all. "It's Shedinja's ability wonder guard;" said Brock "attacks that aren't super affective against Shedinja like psychic moves are useless against Shedinja". "So Bronzor's gyro ball won't affect Shedinja either?" asked Dawn. "That's right so Byron will have trouble with this one, unless Bronzor knows a fire, rock or dark move" said Ash. Tomo was now in for an opening and he ordered Shedinja to use shadow ball again. This time the attack hit Bronzor. "Bronzor use payback" said Byron. Bronzor glowed purple and then tackled Shedinja. "Payback is a dark move;" said Brock "that must be Byron's trump card when Bronzor's against a ghost type". "Tomo can still win this" said Ash. "Shedinja let's use shadow sneak this time" said Tomo. Shedinja created a shadow of itself and the shadow sneakily went past Bronzor and attacked Bronzor from behind. "That's a creepy move" said Dawn. "That's ghost type move for you" said Ash. "Shedinja use confuse ray" said Tomo. Shedinja released a confuse ray attack and poor Bronzor became confused. "Oh no," said Byron "Bronzor use payback". Bronzor tried to use payback but it was too confused to do so. "Now's our chance, Shedinja use shadow ball" said Tomo. Shedinja fired a shadow ball attack and poor Bronzor got hit by it. After getting hit by the shadow ball attack poor Bronzor fainted, giving Tomo the first win.
"That's one down," said Dawn "now Tomo only needs to defeat Steelix and Bastiodon". "Yes but Tomo still needs to be on his toes when battling those two" said Ash, remembering his battle yesterday. Byron returned Bronzor and sent out Steelix. Tomo returned Shedinja and sent out Magmortar. "That's an excellent choice there" said Brock. Ash and Dawn agreed. Tomo started off by telling Magmortar to use flamethrower, but before Magmortar used the attack Steelix used screech and that put Magmortar off guard. "Now use iron tail Steelix" said Byron. Steelix hit Magmortar hard with iron tail but Magmortar was now down yet. "Do iron tail again" said Byron. "Not this time," said Tomo "Magmortar use smokescreen". Magmortar released a lot of smoke from his right hand and that made Steelix unable to see him. "That's a good strategy;" said Brock "using smokescreen to confuse the opponent". As Steelix couldn't see Magmortar in the smoke, this was the chance for Magmortar to strike. Tomo ordered him to use fire punch and Magmortar punched Steelix hard with fire punch. Steelix roared loudly because of the pain and the smoke cleared. "Clever moves there but I'm not done yet," said Byron "Steelix use bind". Steelix tried to grab Magmortar with its tail but Magmortar quickly got out of the way. "Time for fire blast Magmortar" said Tomo. Magmortar released a fire blast from his arm and Steelix got hit by it. Poor Steelix got so much damage from the fire blast attack and it fainted upon defeat.
Byron was enjoying himself by now; he was happy Tomo was giving him a good battle like Ash did. He returned Steelix and sent out Bastiodon. Tomo kept Magmortar out. "Bastiodon is at a real disadvantage against Magmortar," said Brock "but then again there may be a chance that Byron could turn this around". "With his defense styles I agree" said Ash.
Tomo started off by telling Magmortar to use flamethrower. But Rampardos used iron defense to defend itself and then it headbutted Magmortar hard with iron head. Even though Magmortar was hit by a steel type move, it still hurt him. "Bastiodon use ancient power" said Byron. Bastiodon released an ancient power attack and poor Magmortar was hit by it. "That's obviously Bastiodon's back up for whenever it faces a fire type pokemon" said Ash. "You're right," agreed Brock "and look I think Magmortar is getting tired now". Brock was right because Magmortar was feeling exhausted by now. Tomo knew he had to do something now and fast. "Alright Magmortar let's use fire punch" said Tomo. "Bastiodon stone edge" said Byron. Magmortar ran towards Bastiodon to do fire punch but he got hit by Bastiodon's stone edge attack. Poor Magmortar couldn't take any more after that and fainted, giving Byron the win.
"Wow that was something I wasn't expecting that's for sure" said Dawn. "This shows how good Byron has worked with his Bastiodon" said Brock. Tomo returned Magmortar and sent out his Marowak next. "Marowak's a good choice because ground type pokemon have an advantage over Bastiodon" said Brock. Dawn felt a bit worried though because of how Bastiodon was able to take down Magmortar.
Tomo started off by telling Marowak to use boomerang. But of course Bastiodon used iron defense to bounce Marowak's bone off. "Marowak use focus punch" said Tomo. Marowak ran towards Bastiodon and punched it. Bastiodon was hurt but not beaten yet. "Bastiodon use flash cannon" said Byron. "Marowak use dig" said Tomo. Bastiodon fired a flash cannon attack, but Marowak dug underground and avoided it. "Time for bone club Marowak" said Tomo. Marowak jumped out of the ground and whacked Bastiodon hard on the back with bone club. "Aww that's going to give poor Bastiodon a back ache later" sighed Ash. Dawn and Brock agreed. "Bastiodon use iron head" said Byron. "Bone rush Marowak" said Tomo. Bastiodon and Marowak charged at each other with their attacks and they collided with each other. At first it seemed none of them were taken by the attacks, but then Bastiodon fainted to defeat. Tomo had won the gym battle.
Byron hugged Marowak and returned him. Ash, Brock and Dawn congratulated Tomo and so did Roark. Byron gave Tomo his Mine badge, so the two Ketchum brothers finally had their sixth badges. Now they only had two more gym badges to earn.
Sorry for the wait. I hope you like how I wrote Ash's and Tomo's gym battles. I decided to do the Team Rocket trying to steal fossils because I didn't see any other way to have Byron and Roark reconcile.
I've have been watching newer episodes of pokemon sun and moon and I was so surprised to see Ash catching Meltan. But I do wonder will Ash keep Meltan permanently, or will something happen if it ever evolves to Melmetal? I do wish they would hurry up and have Lillie get a new pokemon; I'm still having trouble deciding which type of pokemon trainer Lillie should be. Mind you as Kiawie got a flyium z crystal so maybe I should just have Lillie become a fairy type pokemon trainer. As Shaymin will leave Mallow soon I hope they will give her a new grass type pokemon then.
