Ash's Pokemon Journey
Summary: This story is about how I think that ash's journey should have gone through, Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Smart, a psychic and an Aura user. I do not own pokemon.
Note: I am not doing the Kalos Region. So fairy pokemon and Mega Evolutions don't exist.
Chapter 146
The Time that Jessie, James
And Meowth left Team Rocket
Today Jessie, James and Meowth had arrived at a town. "This seems like a good place to get something to eat," said Meowth "don't you agree Jessie and James?" But Jessie and James weren't paying attention to Meowth. "Hey is something wrong?" asked Meowth. "Oh no sorry Meowth I was just thinking about something" said James. "Yes me too, but nothing is wrong" said Jessie. Meowth wasn't convinced; he felt for sure that something was wrong with Jessie and James. Suddenly he got distracted by a delicious smell; it was coming from a ramen restaurant not far from where they were standing. "Let's go eat in that restaurant" suggested Meowth. Jessie and James felt hungry too so they agreed with Meowth's suggestion.
It wasn't long till the trio ordered a serving of ramen and ate it all up at once. "This is delicious" said Jessie. "I agree I want seconds" said James. Suddenly an employee of the restaurant went up to the trio and told them the manager wanted to see them. The trio looked at each other in confusion. "What have we done?" whispered Jessie. "I don't know," whispered James "I mean we have money to pay for the bill, but we haven't asked for it yet". "Might just be an inspection or something" said Meowth. The employer led the trio to the kitchen and there was a brown haired young man waiting for them. "I can't believe I am seeing you again Jessie and James" said the man. "You two know this guy?" asked Meowth. James took a good look at the man. "Wait a minute," said James "Christopher is that you?"
(Flashback)
Christopher used to be a trainee at Team Rocket training school, but he never got anything right. Jessie and James who were at the training school at that time were Christopher's only friends. One evening Jessie and James treated Christopher to some ramen to help him cheer up. Christopher found the ramen so good and he decided to quit Team Rocket, go back to Sinnoh and open up his own ramen shop. Time passed and his ramen became so popular he ended up opening more ramen shops across the Sinnoh region.

"Wow Christopher it sounds like you found your true goal in life" said James. "Congratulations" said Jessie. "Well it was thanks to the support you gave me" said Christopher. "Oh come on," said Jessie "we didn't do much apart from keeping you company. Besides you didn't really look Team Rocket style back then". "To be honest I didn't feel like that either," said Christopher "but at that time I didn't really know what to do with myself, especially since things never went right with me". "Yes I remember you telling us that back at the training school;" said James "you tried to find a job before trying Team Rocket but no one gave you a chance". "That's correct, but thanks to the ramen you introduced to me I found my chance at last" said Christopher.
Meanwhile a chef was kneading some dough but then the dough suddenly flew out of his hands and went towards Meowth. Meowth noticed the dough and scratched it with fury swipes. The dough ended sliced into noodle pieces and they landed into a bowl. "Wow that was incredible," said Christopher "best noodle cutting I have never seen. You should come work in one of my ramen shops Meowth and become a noodle cutting master". "What?" said Meowth. He couldn't believe what he just heard.
Before Meowth could say anything else, there was a loud crash coming from outside. "What was that?" asked James. Christopher and the trio ran outside to see what was going on. There was a female Glameow being chased by a Houndoom. "Oh not that Houndoom again," said Christopher "that Houndoom is always chasing any stray pokemon around here and causing a ruckus". Meowth didn't like how the Houndoom was bullying the Glameow, as he was a cat type pokemon himself, so he chased after them. "Meowth where are you going?" said Jessie. Christopher and the duo went after them.
Glameow ended up chased into a dead end alleyway and she was scared of the Houndoom. Houndoom was about to attack Glameow, but when he got hit by some water. It was Meowth; he had used water pulse to attack Houndoom. "You leave Glameow alone you big bully!" shouted Meowth. Houndoom got angry and faced Meowth to attack him. "If it's a battle you want, it's a battle you get!" shouted Meowth. Houndoom fired flamethrower, but Meowth used water pulse again to counter the attack. 'It's thanks to battling the brat's pokemon all the time I know what to do with times like this' thought Meowth. He then charged at Houndoom with aerial ace and used scratch as well. Houndoom howled in pain from the scratches. "How do you like that huh?!" shouted Meowth. Christopher and Jessie and James were watching the battle from behind. "Wow I've never seen Meowth battle like this before" said Jessie. "Well he had said he had been practicing in the past" said James. Christopher was impressed. Houndoom charged at Meowth to use bite, but Meowth jumped to dodge Houndoom and then used pay day. "Man I love this move" smiled Meowth. He was still proud of the day when the old man helped him relearn payday. "Okay now it's time for you to face my claws Houndoom". Meowth charged towards Houndoom about to use fury swipes, but then his claws glowed purple and he scratched Houndoom. "Hey that was night slash I think" said Christopher. "You're right, this means Meowth has learnt a new move" said James. Meowth was surprised too that he had learnt a new move. "Well Houndoom are you going to leave or do you want more?" said Meowth. Houndoom had, had enough so it left. Meowth went up to Glameow and asked her if she was okay. Glameow was grateful and he hugged and nuzzled Meowth while purring. Meowth began to blush. "You're welcome Glameow" he said.
Soon everyone was back at Christopher's shop and Glameow was having some food. They were in the staff room while the rest of the staff was working the restaurant. "I've got to say Meowth that was incredible with what you did against that Houndoom" said Christopher. "Well I have battled lots of times before, so no big deal" said Meowth. "So Jessie and James please tell me how you have been since the last time I saw you" said Christopher. "Well to be honest Chris it hasn't exactly been easy for us, even if we did pass the training school" said James. "James is right," Jessie admitted "no matter how hard we worked for the boss and how much pokemon we sent to him we don't really get anything much in return. No bigger payments or anything, we sometimes had to work part time jobs somewhere else for money to provide us with good food and shelter". "You're lucky you left when you did Chris otherwise you would have been stuck in the lowest rank too" said James. "I'm actually glad I left too," said Christopher "I mean no offence but I have read about Team Rocket doing many bad things; terrorizing people and pokemon alike, hurting or killing pokemon and humans and destroying places to gain their goals". "It is true that is what happens," admitted James "but that's how the boss likes it. And there's nothing that would ever make the boss change his mind when he gives the commands". "I hope you don't mind me asking, but why did you two want to join Team Rocket?" said Christopher "I mean I remember you telling me before that you had rough lives too in the past, but you never told me what". Jessie and James looked at each other and nodded. "It's only fair we tell you our pasts because you told us of our past Christopher" said Jessie.
Jessie started off with her past first. She first explained about losing her mother at the age of five, after her mother went missing while exploring in mountains. Then she explained about her poor life with foster family. "At first I didn't understand that we were poor, until I started elementary school," said Jessie "I always saw other kids with nice new clothes, toys and other nice friends. But I never got any of those things because my foster family could never afford it. I didn't have any friends at that time either because of my poor state. I always got bullied because of that". Next Jessie explained how she always tried to chase for her dreams while growing up like a pop idol, pokemon nurse, reporter and other things. "No matter how hard I worked I never achieved on any of my dreams," said Jessie "no one cared about me or did anything to help me. The world was just unfair to me. The only place for a job that didn't put me down was of course Team Rockets quarters. What made me decide to join Team Rocket was 1. Pay the world back for being so unkind to me and 2. Prove that I am a woman worth something. But of course nothing about being a Team Rocket ever makes me feel truly happy or whatever. Funny thing was I heard that my mother was a Team Rocket agent. So I thought joining Team Rocket would help me find her so we could live together again, but I found out that she was dead due to an avalanche. So my dream of being with my real mother again was crushed just like my other dreams". Christopher felt sorry for Jessie after listening to her story.
Then James told his story. He explained about his unfair life with his wealthy parents was; having to do millions of lessons and activities and never being able to enjoy childhood life because he was the only son and child of aristocrats. "The only times I ever was happy was when I stayed over at my grandparent's place," said James "they always let me have fun and play about, and they were never strict with me and stuff. I always felt free with them. But then of course my life got worse when my parents arranged my marriage to a woman names Jessebelle. At first I was interested in her looks, but then later on I realised of how spoilt, bossy, sassy and rude she was. She always tormented me of whatever I did and even kept on telling me what to do. There was even times when she insulted my pet Growlithe, Growlie. So one day I ran away home because I had enough of all the rules and status and of course her. After that I ended up going to Pokemon Tech and joining a bike gang with Jessie". "What you two met up before you decided to join Team Rocket?" asked Christopher. "Yes you see when we met we were at Pokemon Tech," said James "but we didn't do well there so we got expelled. After that we joined a bicycle gang but that didn't work out for us either. So then we decided to go separate ways. After that like Jessie I tried to find a job and better life for myself, but I still wasn't free from my parent's grip despite I ran away from home ages ago. Because of their wealth they are able to control any company and any person they want. So if I ever did work at a company or lived anywhere else, they would use their control to make me stop working for the company and force me to return home". "So did you join Team Rocket to escape from your parents?" asked Christopher. "Yes; Team Rocket is a company that my parents never tried to control because they know how evil the boss is," said James. Christopher shook his head in disbelief.
During that time Meowth was talking with Glameow. Glameow was telling Meowth that she got abandoned by her trainer and was bullied a lot by a Purugly. "That's the same with me," said Meowth "I was abandoned as a baby and got bullied and bossed around by a Persian. Because of that I dislike Persians and refuse to evolve into one". Glameow admitted she didn't want to evolve into Purugly because she didn't like them either. "You and me are in the same boat Glameow" said Meowth.
Jessie, James and Christopher saw Meowth talking to Glameow. "Meowth certainly has taken a liking to that Glameow hasn't he" said Jessie. "Well that Glameow is a girl so he would," said James "I've never seen him this happy actually". It was true; Meowth was feeling love-struck by Glameow. Christopher looked at the two pokemon and smiled, and then he got up and walked to the two cat pokemon. "Hey Meowth," he said "why don't you and Glameow stay here with me? I would really like you to work with me in my ramen restaurant because of that amazing skill you have of slicing dough with your claws. Glameow could work here too and then both of you can be together always". Meowth stared at Christopher and then at Glameow. "That sounds nice," he said at last "I mean all my life I've always wanted a happy home and someone to love me. But I don't know if I can leave Jessie or James or Team Rocket". "Join Christopher Meowth" interrupted James. "Yes this is the best or might be the only chance for you to find real happiness" said Jessie. "What are you two saying?" asked Meowth "we have always been a team ever since we became members of Team Rocket". "That Meowth is something that James and I need to tell you about". "What do you mean?" asked Meowth.
Jessie and James looked very serious because this was something very important. "The thing is Meowth," said Jessie "James and I have been offered new jobs so we have been thinking about leaving Team Rocket". Meowth couldn't believe his ears. "What? When did that happen?!" he gasped. James spoke first. "Do you remember when we met up with that gym leader Gardenia Meowth?" asked James. "Yes I do" answered Meowth. "Well it's because of her that I've been given a new job offer" said James.
(Flashback)
James explained three days ago he got an email from Gardenia as she had his email address. Gardenia's email was talking about a very rich couple who needed somebody to look after all of their grass pokemon. The couple owned a very famous and popular perfume company and grass pokemon was where they got most of their perfume ingredients from. Apparently the couple know Gardenia and Gardenia told them about James. Because of that the couple were interested in James and they decided to see him. The email also said the couple lived in Hoenn.

"Wow that sounds nice" said Christopher. "It does to me too," said James "the truth is I've always liked being around grass type pokemon ever since I was a kid. My grandparents had lots of grass type pokemon so I played with them a lot while I grew up". "Then you should do it, as that new job involves something that you like so much," said Christopher "remember I decided to work with ramen because I like it so much too". "Yes you're right" smile James. "What is this place like?" asked Meowth. James showed Meowth, Jessie and Christopher pictures of the place. The perfume company was big and it was in a very big grassy area and the grass pokemon lived in big greenhouses. James even showed a picture of all the grass pokemon the couple kept. They had all the grass pokemon you get in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. (Not Celebi and Shaymin of course because they're legendary pokemon, and definitely not mow Rotom). "I think that will be great for you James," said Jessie "oh but won't your parents get in the way again once they find out about your new job?" "Not at this place;" said James "because the master of that company is someone whose status, wealth and reputation are higher than my parents. So my parents won't get in the way this time and I'll be free". "That's great" replied Jessie. Christopher and Meowth were happy to hear that too.
"But what about you Jessie?" asked Meowth. "Well Meowth do you remember when we noticed a car accident last week?" asked Jessie. "Oh yes I remember that," said Meowth "a truck was taking some pokemon to a pokemon center. But then a Stantler carelessly got into the road and the truck driver swerved to try and miss the Stantler. In the end the truck ended up falling on its side and both the driver and the pokemon got hurt. And since we were there we quickly ran to a phone booth for help. Then some ambulances came to help the driver and a Nurse Joy helped the pokemon. So what's that got to do with you Jessie?" "Well it's like this" said Jessie.
(Flashback)
Jessie explained that when Nurse Joy was tending to the injured pokemon, she called out for some help. Remembering everything she learnt from the pokemon nurse school, Jessie ran over to help Nurse Joy. What Jessie didn't know was Nurse Joy watched Jessie while she tended to some of the pokemon.
(Flashback ends)
"You really helped the hurt pokemon Jessie?" asked Christopher. "I maybe a Team Rocket member Christopher, but I still don't like seeing a pokemon suffer so badly" said Jessie. "It is true because Jessie helped her Granbull when it was hurt before she captured it," said James "and to tell you the truth I don't like seeing pokemon suffer so badly either". "Okay so what happened next Jessie?" said Christopher. "Well," said Jessie "after the pokemon had been sent to the pokemon center, Nurse Joy had a talk with me. She asked me when I learned how to tend to sick and injured pokemon, and I told her about the time when I tried to become a pokemon nurse at the nursing school for Chanseys. I also told how I couldn't graduate because I couldn't sooth patients to sleep with sing as I wasn't really a Chansey". "What did Nurse Joy say?" asked Christopher. "Well after listening to my story Nurse Joy asked me for my phone number because she had decided to do something about me not being able to become a pokemon nurse," said Jessie "then I phone call from her yesterday. She said she talked to the other Nurse Joys and they've decided to help me get into a pokemon nursing school for humans in Johto". "Wow that means your efforts of trying to become a pokemon nurse will pay off after all Jessie" said Christopher. "That I do hope so" said Jessie.
"I take it that's why you two had been acting strangely; being all quiet and so?" said Meowth. "Sorry Meowth, but Jessie and I didn't know what to say to you because we weren't sure what you would do" said James. "Well first things first," said Meowth "you two should go for these new jobs. Jessie you told me and James once you blew your chance when you first experienced happiness by not grabbing that chance. Well this chance might be your only chance for new happiness again so grab it this time. And James I know how much you have wanted a normal carefree life because of the life you had with your parents. Not to mention you really like grass pokemon, so this will be perfect for you to start a new life for yourself. You don't need to worry about me now because I've now found the love I've been searching and waiting for all my life. I'm willing to give up Team Rocket to be with Glameow".
Jessie and James were surprised by what Meowth said, but they were happy they didn't have to worry about Meowth now. "So are you three going to give up Team Rocket and peruse your new lives like I did?" asked Christopher. "Yes we are," answered James "but there is one thing we need to deal with first". "That's right, we need to go and give resignation letters to the boss" said Jessie. "He won't like this" said Meowth. "It's true I mean we know too much and have done a lot already for Team Rocket, so it won't be easy to leave it" said James. "Yes but let's not blow our chances again and get better, happier lives for ourselves" said Jessie. James and Meowth agreed. So it was official that the trio were going to leave Team Rocket. Meowth asked Christopher to take care of Glameow for him till he got back and Christopher agreed. Christopher even let the trio stay at his place for tonight and the trio agreed.
The next day the trio went to a harbour to board a ship that would take them back to Kanto. Christopher was seeing them off. "Christopher thank you," said James "if we hadn't met up with you we probably wouldn't have had the courage to decide to quit Team Rocket". "I'm glad I could pay my debt to you Jessie and James," smiled Christopher "well good luck with dealing with the boss and I wish you two luck with you your new jobs in Johto and Hoenn". "You continue living happily with your ramen shops Christopher," said Jessie "and promise us you will take good care of Meowth". "Don't worry I will" promised Christopher. So the trio said goodbye to Christopher and got onto the ship.
Soon the ship was on its way to Kanto. Jessie, James and Meowth were nervous about having to tell the boss they were quitting Team Rocket. But they had to be brave for their chances of new lives and happiness.
Two days later Jessie, James and Meowth made it to Vermillion City in Kanto and made their way to Team Rocket headquarters in a rented car. "Well this is it" said James. "Yeah time to face the boss now" said Jessie. The trio bravely and nervously made their way to Giovanni's office. "You got our resignation letters James?" asked Jessie. "All ready," answered James "and I phoned him to let us know we were coming". "I have a bad feeling that this isn't going to be easy" said Meowth. "That is why we have to be brave Meowth," said James "you have to be brave for Glameow who's waiting for you back in Sinnoh". "Yes you're right" sighed Meowth. Soon the trio finally made it to headquarters. "Ready?" asked Jessie. "Ready" answered James and Meowth together.
The trio walked to Giovanni's office and knocked on the door. A voice shouted 'come in' and the trio went inside. Giovanni was sitting at desk. "Ah it's you three," said Giovanni "I got your phone call saying you wanted to see me about something. So what is it?" Jessie, James and Meowth bravely presented their resignation envelopes to Giovanni without hesitation. "Sir we wish to quit Team Rocket" said James. Before Giovanni said anything Meowth spoke first. "The thing is sir," he said "I've found a mate and I wish to leave Team Rocket so I could live with her for the rest of my life". "I wish to leave Team Rocket sir because an old friend of mine had asked me to come and work with her" said Jessie. "And I wish to leave Team Rocket sir because a relative of mine has asked me to come live with him because he's sick and he has no one else living with him" said James. Jessie and James were making their reasons up because they knew Giovanni would probably have someone keep an eye on them while they worked for somebody else. Giovanni started at the trio for a moment. "You three do know the consequences of leaving Team Rocket don't you?" said Giovanni. "Yes sir," said James "we know that once we leave we can never come back here again. But we are fine with that sir". "And we fully understand that we cannot tell anybody about Team Rocket and everything," said Jessie "so you can threat us all you want. But we do promise to keep our mouths shut about Team Rocket. We just want to give up our lives of crime and live like normal people do". Giovanni stared at the trio again. "Very well," he said "you may leave, but you better keep your words of never revealing anything or you will be facing death". "We understand sir" the trio said together. So the trio bid farewell to Giovanni and left the office.
Persian, who had been in the office all the time, looked at his master. "Ah no need to worry about those three Persian," said Giovanni "they're won't cause a threat to me or the organisation because they don't really know so much. If they were admins, executives or anything else higher I wouldn't let them go free. But those three; they were just small grunts, nothing worthwhile". So Luckily for Jessie, James and Meowth they were let off free from Giovanni.
Meanwhile Jessie and James were getting rid of their uniforms and changing into normal clothes in the changing rooms. Meowth was waiting outside for them. Just then James came out first and he was wearing a pair of grey trousers, a white shirt, a green waist coat and a pair of brown shoes. He even had his hair tied back. (The outfit James wore in the Mending a Broken Spirit episode in pokemon xy anime, but without tie, hat and glasses) "Nice outfit James" said Meowth. "Well since I am going to be working for a rich couple I have to dress smart for them" replied James. "I wonder what's taking Jessie so long?" said Meowth. "You know Jessie; always taking longer to get ready" said James. Soon Jessie finally came out. She was wearing a shirt, a skirt and flat shoes. But she had taken off her lipstick. Her hair was tied in a ponytail. "Ready to leave now boys?" asked Jessie. "Ready as I ever will be" answered James. "Same here" said Meowth. The trio picked up a suitcase each and they got ready to leave the headquarters.
Suddenly the trio were stopped by Cassidy and Butch. "Well, well, well." said Cassidy "looking at you leaving with suitcases must mean you were fired right?" "Actually Cassidy we quitted thank you" said Jessie. "That's right," said James "we had enough of Team Rocket so we are working and living somewhere else". "Ha that's hard to believe" laughed Butch. "Believe what you want, but we are leaving on our own free will" said Jessie. "Well I guess this is goodbye then since you won't be allowed to come back" sneered Cassidy. "Coming back is something we don't want" replied Jessie. "Now if you don't mind we have a boat to catch" said James. "Yeah and may you two enjoy continuing working for Team Rocket" said Meowth. The trio walked away while Cassidy and Butch silently watched them. That was the last time the trio was ever going to see the duo.
Jessie, James and Meowth looked at headquarters one last time, once they were outside. "I don't know about you boys, but I don't feel any emotions or remorse about leaving this place" said Jessie. "That's probably because we were never happy here" said James. "I agree with you on that James," said Meowth "especially since everyone, including the boss, didn't care about us". "Come on let's just get out of here," said Jessie "we need to catch our boats". James and Meowth agreed and they and Jessie caught a bus for the harbour at once.
Sometime later the trio arrived at the harbour. Jessie was getting a boat for Johto, James for Hoenn and Meowth for Sinnoh. The trio stared at each other. "Well this is it" said James. "Yep time for us to separate" said Meowth. "Jessie best of luck with working as a pokemon nurse" said James. "Best of luck of you working with grass type pokemon James" said Jessie. "I hope both of you will be happy" said Meowth. "Meowth be sure to work hard under Christopher's instructions" said James. "Yes and make sure you keep that Glameow of yours happy" said Jessie. "Don't worry I will" smiled Meowth. Soon it was time for the boats to leave. The trio gave each other tearfully goodbyes and hugs, then went onto their boats for their new futures.
It was sad for Jessie, James and Meowth to leave each other, because they had so many memories of being with each other. But they had always wished for new happy lives, and now their wishes were going to come true at last.
Sorry for the wait. I hope you like how I made the trio leave Team Rocket. I got the Meowth falling in love with a Glameow idea from the for the love of Meowth episode. I think a Glameow suites Meowth rather than the other cat type pokemon. It's so lame that Meowth didn't want to do night slash in the anime because he found it scary; he would've gone far with that move. I was going to have Jessie cut her hair, but decided no because I don't think Jessie in the anime would ever want to cut her hair if she ever did leave Team Rocket for real in the anime. I will tell about Jessie and James finding new lovers when I get to the epilogue of my story. Jessie, James and Meowth will appear again to help defeat Team Galactic and then go back to their new jobs. As for the stolen Sunnyshore tower, it will be Cassidy and Butch doing that.
I don't know about all of you readers but Jessie and James seem more stupid every new season. Especially about when neither of them gets the fact that the boss doesn't have any faith in them or care about them at all. I don't believe they are ever going to see they are just those little pawns in his plan as they are too loyal to him. I wonder what they'll be like when the anime series for pokemon sword and shield will start.
