Hi guys! 'O' Levels are oveerrrrr! so that means i will be starting to update again HAHA
I realized that this arc- the one about Rachel and Micheal and all- is pretty screwed up and i'm really sorry . I may actually have to rush through this arc because there is about two? to three more arcs before this story ends and I'll have to go fro JC in Feb next year
This chapter is not the best i've ever written. I'm still warming up and trying to get my mind to become more active again HAHA warming up and all. The next chapter should have much more content.
For the people who have been waiting for so long for an update, I'm sorry for giving this sub-par filler chapter but the next chapter will be good! I'll try my best HAHA
As for now, thanks for reading and reviewing and I'll see you real soon! :)
Nico's POV
It's been days since Rachel had come to school.
It wasn't only me who felt the absence of her presence. The rest of the gang had felt it too.
What was even weirder was that Micheal did not come to school either. That seemed to worry all the ones who knew the truth…which was the whole gang, since with the combined efforts of Thalia, Grover, Annabeth and I had managed to get through the whole gang in a matter of days.
Most of them were unsure about the whole thing and were still waiting for confirmation somehow. The only reason why they had listened to us was because of Rachel herself.
Before she had disappeared off the radar, she had gone up to every single one of the gang and asked them what had happened between Percy and Micheal. This was enough to prove to the gang that Rachel had indeed lost her memory.
If Rachel still had her memory, she would not need to ask anyone at all.
Unfortunately, her not having her memory was a double-edged sword. We could convince them that there may be a chance Percy was not at fault, but we cold not convince them that he was definitely not at fault, as Rachel could not remember anything.
It was frustrating, really. We could not get the whole damn issue settled with the three of them all missing in action.
However, Annabeth- always the wisest one in the group- told us that we could no longer help. We had done whatever we could to resolve the issue. Annabeth had even told Rachel much more than we had planned on telling her.
It all depended on Rachel now.
"Is there any way we can contact Rachel at all?" Thalia asked me as we walked towards the gang, trays filled with the food we ordered. I shook my head.
"We don't have her number, her address, her anything. She's completely of our radars. Probably the only people who can get to her now are Percy and Micheal. As you can see, neither are willing to do anything." Thalia growled at the mention of Micheal's name.
"Well, I hope the truth comes to light soon so I can kick Micheal's ass off this soil into the next country."
"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. We don't know if it will end up well yet," I told her.
"Always the pessimistic one. Tsk tsk," Travis came up from behind and smacked my back, almost causing me to spill my food all over the floor.
"Damnit Travis," Thalia swore at Travis and glared at him. I simply sighed, resigned.
"Woah woah, don't be so pissed. He didn't drop anything," Connor suddenly appeared out of nowhere with his usual crazy grin plastered on his face.
The two of them had been easier to convince as compared to even Beckendorf. Being such professional liars, I guess you could say they could spot a person lying from miles away.
It wasn't surprising they had been skeptical of Micheal right form the start.
"Don't worry Nico, I'm sure Rachel would make the right choice. I mean, c'mon, Percy doesn't lie about this kind of stuff. He's too kind," Travis said in a light tone.
"Yea, he may lie about other things, but not something like this," Connor added in unnecessarily.
"So what kind of things would he lie about?" Thalia asked, annoyed but curious.
"I don't know," Both of them said at the same time and grinned widely. Both Thalia and me shook our heads at them.
"Well, let's hope you're right and Rachel makes the right decision," I said as we walked, my mind lost in thoughts of how this whole fiasco would end.
"And so i went in and kicked his ass right out of his face. You should have been there to watch. Pity someone decided to skip training," Thalia accused with a teasing grin. I scowled and opened my mouth to give a smart retort when her eyes enlarged into as the size of saucers when she caught sight of something in front.
Thalia suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me back, causing me to stumble and almost fall flat on my face.
"What the hell was tha-"
"Shh!" Thalia urged me to stay silent as she seemed to look beyond me to where Percy's house was.
I followed her line of sight and stiffened.
"Rachel," I whispered softly, shocked at the very sight of her.
"How the hell did she know where Percy stays?" I asked quietly as we retreated back, standing behind a thick tree trunk, trying to stay hidden so as to let things play out and not interfere.
"Maybe some part of her body still remembered the thousands of walks she had with Percy years ago, I don't know. Just shut up and watch," I clamped my mouth shut at that and shifted my attention to Rachel, knowing better then to antagonize Thalia any further.
We observed in absolute silence. She seemed to be extremely hesitant to take even a step forward towards Percy's house entrance. Even though the sun was setting, there was still enough sunlight for us to be able to see the conflicted expression on her face.
After what seemed like forever, she finally seemed to take a deep breath, pluck up the courage and walked towards Percy's door. Both of us watched in anticipation as she raised her hand and knocked on the door.
Percy's face was priceless when his eyes fell upon Rachel. Thalia almost gave us away. She barely managed to keep herself from guffawing her lungs out.
"Rachel…are…doing…why?" We unconsciously leaned forward, trying in vain to hear their conversation. Unfortunately, we could only catch bits and pieces. Their voices were too soft and we were too far.
We only managed to catch a few more words like "questions…come in?" Before both of them disappeared into the house.
"…What now?" I asked quietly.
"We wait, I guess," Thalia replied softly after a few seconds. "Nothing else we can do now. I'm just glad Rachel is actually visiting Percy. That means she's accepting to a certain extent that Micheal is lying."
"We'll see the results tomorrow," I told her. "For now, let's just go sit somewhere and return in an hour or two. I don't want to disturb them."
Thalia agreed, and we made our way to Thalia's favourite place- burger king.
